Where exactly should I be feeling it when doing the heel strikes in Lower Body Burn? I'm definitely doing something wrong because I'm not feeling that at all.

Thanks!
Mari

I think the heel strikes should be felt in the hamstring. That's where I feel them. I also feel them in the core because the brick is kind of wobbly, and I have to stabilize a bit. It's not a burner, and I do have to concentrate in order to get it to "work," but I feel it. :)

Thanks Jenn! I think I'm contracting the glute more than the hamstring. Definitely something for me to work on.

I think concentration is definitely key with these workouts and that's a good thing for me.

Thanks again,
Mari

The last time I did this one, I used my 6" step (my feet are just too big to mess with a yoga brick for this!), and concentrated on pushing as I would for a lunge. I really felt it more this way, so now I think of them more as a "mini lunge" and know just what to do to "feel it" a bit more. :)

Me, too. I was slipping off the brick too much. :o My floor suface is VERY thick carpet and just too unstable to use the brick.

I used my 6" part of the FL the second time I did this workout, and I got more out of it.

I too use my purple section of the fanny lifter and I don't use the dowel. Instead, I grab 8-10 lb weights and do upright row on the heel strike portions. Make this segment more challenge in the area of balance and the added weight helps continue a better burn for me.

Hey Mari! You know, I could see how you'd also work the glute, too, with this, and I'm sure I probably was, too. :)
