I was reading the thread on how nice it is to use the original FIRM tall step for tricep dips (I have often wanted to get one myself), and I wanted to share this tip- try using a sturdy chair instead of your Fanny Lifter. I just got Project You! by Kathy Smith and that's what she uses. It is so much sturdier and easier on my hands than using that plastic Fanny Lifter.
Awaiting Mother's Day so I can ask for the new Kickbutts!

Thanks, I am going to try that tomorrow or Sunday if there are dips in the workout. I keep a chair in my gym room for when the stick is not enough support. I use it in Strong Bear when Keli does the inner thigh lifts off the tall box.

I have a wooden knockoff of the fanny lifter that I bought on eBay because I kept flipping one part or the other of my plastic fanny lifter over while I was working out. I use either that or one end of my coffee table for tricep dips.

Hey Martha, I have the same step. :o I have found mine too narrow for triceps dips. I had been just leaning against the kitchen counter, but I recently figured out something better. I put my 2x4 across my step, near the edge and can hold onto it when doing them! I know it sounds unstable but it really works well and is very comfortable. :D
I did something similar for incline bench presses: I put my box next to the wall and leaned my 2x4 onto it at an angle, then leaned back onto the 2x4 (with my spine right along it). Works for me!
