Hi, Lori! I don't know if WHFN is planning to sell equipment, or whether there are any tall steps left over from the FP days. Sometimes, you can find the wooden boxes on the Swap boards of Video Fitness, the YY board, etc. Or, you could order the "fanny lifter" (I don't like that name) from GoodTimes.
Rubbermaid makes some sort of sturdy tool contraption that I've heard other people mentioning they use for a tall box, or you could use a step stool.
I think Vanessa and some other folks use a box that Cathe offers -- it's a foot square or a little bigger, with various risers, kind of like a mini-club step thing. Good luck finding one!

I have the FL, yuk. I was hoping to get the real deal. I will try your suggestions. I never thought looking there.
thanks again.
I wonder if I could get my husband to try & make something close?

I bought a *wooden* fanny lifter on eBay some time back. I love it, but with the Fitprimes and WHFNs I often wish i had a stool like in the workouts because you can hold onto it differently for triceps dips.

me too. (the stool)!!
I've tried checking ebay from time to time with no luck.
Firm Believer what do you key in for the search? firm step? tall step?
I've noticed the ones in the old Fitprime are rounded vs the square in the old Firm as well.
gee, I'd love to have a wooden step vs. this plastic FL! but I guess I should be satisfied huh;)
I'm nervous about my husband making a tall step for me to stand on. lol:D

...I'm nervous about my husband making a tall step for me to stand on. lol:D
If dh made one for me, it would be perfectly sanded and finished, weigh more than the weights (we have one he made out of 4 x 4s) and last long beyond my life. The guy doesn't mess around when he tackles a job, big or small. :)

oh Ginger can we trade DH's for abit? lol
I think if my DH made me one, I best get some extra insurance on the ole' policy.
I'm jealous of you:p

sorry lori, no trading. dh can be annoying bcz he is such an extreme planner and perfectionist, but i love the guy any way. :D
...and if you knew how long it takes for a job to be completed bcz of the planning and perfectionism, i don't think you'd be jealous. my basement has been a work in progress for the last 12 years. it will be beautiful when complete, i simply don't know what year that will be. i'm hoping the bathroom will be finished this year. that has been in the works for the last 3-4 years. the work so far is excellent. dh picked out the flooring and wall tiles and fixtures - nice job. he doesn't pick the same as i would, but when he gets things done, i always end up liking it, so i've learned to just let him do it and all will be well in the end...whenever that may be.
btw - i like the insurance comment. that would be if my dad built the step!

ROTFLMAO Ginger.
your lucky believe you me.
I wish my DH was like yours, honestly...it's one of those be careful what you wish for things.
my guys' the complete opposite. I think I'm more of a handyman than him. It took years & years for him to admit certain things he shouldn't even attempt! He was a typical ego-tripping dude that wasn't gonna admit he couldn't do "manly" things.
but unfortunately....several $$$ later on things he should have called the professionals for, well, were quite frankly lessons well learned. lol
but like you, I love em' just the same. He is handsome, plus very athletic, so I guess he can stay. lol
I am serious about being scared to stand on it, I swear I could very possibly fly thru the t.v. screen!:D which I might add, I have come very close on GT FL, the ole' tipp-a-roo!

The "stool" in the WHFNs is actually just a normal tall box with a different top - round top. I've used it in person. I like the rounded top as well because, just as was said, it's easier for me to do tricep dips off of because I could place my arms wider apart.
There used to be instructions somewhere on VF on exactly how to make one? I think they were posted by Pamela P, and this was way, way back, but I think they keep everything over there? Lots of good information. :)

Years ago, I ordered the 10" box from the Firm for just under $50.00, I think. Once we saw what they were made of and how, instead of ordering the other sizes, we went to Home Depot or somewhere and bought one sheet of the same material. It's a really smooth pressboard (not particle board) that's about 3/4" thick. We took the 14" box apart and made patterns for the other sizes. We made a 4", 6", 8", 14" and 17" step. All from one board that costs under 20.00! Exactly the same material as the Firm step. I now have the FL and the Incline board and a step, but I still use my 14" and 6" steps. DD is much taller than me and she uses the 17" and 8" steps, even though she has the FL too.
If you'd like, I'll be happy to take the step apart and trace the pattern and send it to you. All you have to do to change heights is change the height of the legs. It's very very simple. It doesn't have the rounded corners, but that would be easy enough to change. Let me know if you want the pattern.

OMG did I just die & go to heaven?
Lori your an angel!
that is very sweet & kind of you! yes, yes, yes of course I would kill to have the patterns!
this is great! fantastic. Fabulous. I have the biggest darn grin on my face! You totally made my day.
BTW, I think I would prefer the square tops especially when using my old Firm's. You know, better for stepping segments.
DD must have great gams! using a 17"! I don't care how tall she is. That's tough!
so what's my next move? my email? irolk@aol.com
that's a million!

I agree on makeing one. Also, try placing carpet on the top. Very nice, none slip surface. I have carpet on all of mine. Turned under the top and stapled under the top of the step.

Hi, guys. Just wanted to let you know that, after a really upside-down week last week, I've gotten the tall step patterns made. I'm so sorry they didn't get out as quickly as I had thought. Connie and Lori, yours are on the way. Adrienne, I can't find your address! I've got the pattern made for you, I just don't know where to send it.
While I have this step torn apart, if anyone else needs a pattern (I've taken apart my 14" step, but the legs can be changed for any size), let me know right away. I have a whole brand new roll of craft paper so I can trace my little heart out!

I do have the one that Cathe has on her web site, but I got it elsewhere. I can't remember where! That age thing again. I love it. It never tips! I ordered a regular size step, which I needed and then just ordered the top to the mini step. I switch my risers between steps.

Vanesssa, you look close to me in age, how is this program on your knees? I just need to order the topper also if I decide to go this way. I'm still not sure what to do as I don't want to have a program again that I give up on.
