I recently ordered the 12 pack DVD's. Which size yoga block should I get? 3" or 4"? TIA!:)

Either is fine. They use the 3" I think. I have the 4" and love them. :)

I bought a 3" Gaiam block last night from Target, and watching Flexposture, Tamela's block looks deeper than mine - that's why I'm inclined to think that they're using 4". Jenn, is there any official word on this? I know this sounds silly, but I would like to use the same size that Tamela's using, if I'm gonna get a real yoga block.:o

TIA

Hi, Belle, :)

The only official word is that they are using standard yoga blocks. As far as I've seen, there are two sizes- the standard and the oversized. I bought the oversized and have no problems at all with the workouts - makes no difference at all. Mine are Gaiam, too.

Jenn, are your oversized blocks the ones that are being sold at the gaiam site for 6.99? I saw those, but didn't like the black color. :( And those are 4" I think. I know this sounds obsessive (which I am) but I may go looking around for the 4" ones even though my regular block is a very pretty cherry color.:)

Thanks for your post.

Yes, I got the oversized from Gaiam, and they are definitely much bigger than the ones used in the videos. I think you already have the right size, then! ;)

THANK YOU JENN!! For answering my questions. Can you believe that I found the exact dimensions on the General Fitness thread? Now I feel like an idiot for not having looked before. BTW the depth or whatever is 3 3/4 inches. So now I have to decide - do I order a 4" block from amazon and let the baby play w/ this pretty cherry one or do I just use the cherry one myself. My baby (well, she's 2-1/2 years old) is so funny that when I use my yoga mat, she keeps trying to butt in!:D

I didn't look there, either.:o I'll be buying the 4" ones, too.

I'm very happy with the 4 inch ones! Belle, your baby sounds adorable! Maybe she needs her own yoga block. ;)
