View Full Version : Eating fruit before a workout?

I was reading the Training Calendar that came packaged with the workouts, and I noticed under "Training Tips" that one suggestion is to eat fruit (not fruit juice) 30 min prior to a workout.

Has anyone done this before and noticed a difference in their workout? Also, do you think apple sauce (natural, no sugar) would count? Or is apple sauce similar to juice?

Thanks!

Really?

I only drink 100% fruit juice (I juice my own mainly) but I always thought they meant fruit juice period including "real" juice. I thought it was because the sugar (naturally occurring in the fruit) would be so readily available during your workout in juice form rather than released gradually via eating and digesting the fruit.

The way you mentioned makes sense. When others have said do it on an empty stomach. I think if we drink the fruit juice all we are buring is the sugar from the juice and not getting to the sugar in our bodies already. Making fat burning quicker.
