I just got finished with FloorBurn. I don't really have much to say about it. Tamela seemed very comfortable in front of the camera this time. I didn't use weights since it was my first time. I didn't find it to be terribly difficult but I know that is because I was concentrating on Tamela and what she was saying rather than my body. I imagine the more I get to know the workout and focus on my form the harder it will be.

I'm the kind of person that sees pilates and yoga as something I SHOULD do rather than LIKE to do. I think this workout has a place in the KickButt rotation but can't say I'm terribly excited about it simply because I don't enjoy pilates or yoga - I don't think they are fun although WHFN did a better job than any other yoga or pilates workout I've tried.

I'm sure the more I do it the more I'll enjoy it - I think this is the type of workout you need to be familiar with in order to get the full benefit. I'll say this, though - I am standing taller than usual and I do feel good. :)

One last thing - Tamela ends the workout by saying, "That was fun!". I busted up laughing. I wish I could meet her - she sounds like she has a great sense of humor. :D

She *starts* one of the other workouts by asking if we're ready to have fun. :p What a great sense of humor!

I did this one yesterday with ankle weights and 5 lb. hand weights. Tamela is in amazing shape and the workout flows well. It doesn't seem hard, but today I am feeling it! I was surprised how much! I did miss Susan in the original Floor Burn :) , but it was nice to see another mom of four who is fit, strong and beautiful!

:D I am TOTALLY PSYCHED about these new DVD's!!!!!! I love the vibrant colors, the music, the instructors (okay I have only done one so far, Floor Burn, but..) and the studio. It feels like HOME because it reminds me of the origional Firm set which has been my favorite workout set EVER.

I have been Firming since the beginning (late 80's?) and am now 40 years old...soon to be 41 *gasp*. I need a slower, more controlled pace to give my slightly achey older bod a chance to get in position with gear in hand for the next moves. If all the KickButts are paced like Floor Burn I will be totally thrilled. I will add weight to increase resistance as I go along. I am past the point where I want to look like the cover of Muscle & Fitness Hers. I just want a tight, lean, cellulite free (as realistically possible) body that still looks good in a bikini.

So, off to try KickButt Crunch Time. I have a feeling I will love it and if so I plan to order the new FitPrime series tomorrow. I will probably sell most of my old FitPrimes..the ones with the small, dark, solo instructor set. I need the uplifting atmosphere of the new set to motivate me to hit PLAY;)
Best!

I was very challenged by this workout. I had DOMS in my abs, which almost never happens. I can tell that this will help strengthen my hips, as I had a hard time with some of the table work.

I had been doing the FIRM workouts for just over a year when I found these workouts and ordered them. I received the tapes and set them to the side so that I could finish a rotation with some other videos (non-firm) that I had also ordered. Well, Friday I decided I didn't want to wait any longer so after I finished the tape on the rotaion I opened up Floor Burn. During the workout I was very skeptical, it didn't seem very tough and at the end of the workout my hrm only registered 109 caloried burned. Bummer! I wanted more bang for my buck so I decided maybe it was just my choice of video and I might get more out of some of the others. This morning (Saturday) was the day after the workout and I have really been feeling it. Maybe I made up my mind a little too quickly. I know what I'm feeling is from this tape because the areas that are hurting weren't areas that the other tape worked. The funniest thing is I've walked around all day feeling like someone was squeezing my buttocks. Good grief, what in the world did I do to get that feeling?

I will continue to add these videos in and see how it goes. I want to continue the videos that I'm presently working through because I've been seeing really good results.

I compared this to the original Floor Burn and they are almost identical, with a few advanced moves changed and the initial stretch moved to later in the workout. The lead wears black pants, black bra and yellow top in both workouts. :D

Besides abs, hips, and thighs, there is significant tricep work in this. (For example, very intense tricep pushups). I'd compare this workout to well-prepared broccoli. It is well presented and good for you. :)

I did this one today and I really liked it. I feel like a klutz, though, and like some of the others in this set it's going to take a few tries before I get the hang of it. Tamela seems strict. She must be a mom. Another good one from WHFN.

I was not a fan of floor burn with Susan. I love susan but just do not like floor work. But I have to say I did this today for a good relaxing type sunday workout. I usually never w/o on sunday. I liked it a lot. I thought it was very good. I loved all the yoga poses in the workout and my legs burned bad. It is a keeper for me. Of course it is not a cardio for me at all. A good leg/butt toner and yoga workout is what I call it.

I guess I don't remember the original like I thought b/c this seems all new to me. I previewed this one today after doing Fast Cheetah, and I'm really anxious to try it. No, I'm not follow the rotation,......just doing what I feel like for now and trying them all out. My lower body is sore in places I forgot I had and now watching FB makes me think I will feel a burn like never before. :p

This was my second time to try Floor Burn. OMG, it really did set my glutes and thighs on fire. I was able to do more this time; there is a lot of instruction that I missed on the first try.

These workouts require mental focus and you definitely get out of them what you put into them. I put a lot more into Floor Burn this time, and it really paid off. I did it on Tuesday and today (Thursday) my glutes and thighs are still slightly sore.

Floor Burn will be one of my favorites. I like not wearing shoes!

Tamela is in definitely in charge http://home.houston.rr.com/ourfamblie/salute.gif but adorable http://home.houston.rr.com/ourfamblie/phearts.gifat the same time.

How DOES she do it? I need to learn that.

Well I finally got around to doing this one and liked what it did for my lower body. I guess I was hoping there would be more upper body in this one. Pec Flies, Ribcage Pullovers, etc. Tamela did very well and came across very professional. I'll definitely continue doing this one, I just need to change my mind set on what areas it really works.

I made myself do Floor Burn b/c it was the next workout on my rotation but I don't usually "want" to do this type of workout. I was surprised b/c I really enjoyed it. I used 8 lb weights and got a good leg/hip/core workout. The music and choreography was seamless and beautiful. On a day that I am feeling especially strong, I'll add in a treadmill run. Today I was tired and achey (sp?) and it was perfect all by itself--very energizing and uplifting. I really liked that pilates move near the end where you lay on your side and swing your leg forward and back, bending and straightening it and I wish that segment was longer. (otherwise, a perfect workout) :) thanks!

Thank goodness there are some less intense workouts in this series. I needed to work out today but just didn't have the energy for too much. Floor Burn gave me a nice workout and kept me going. Tamela really seems relaxed in this one. I would love to see her do a pure pilates workout someday.

Hello everyone,

I got my KB series last week, but due to training for a road bike race have only been able to to two...especially as I'm in taper mode right now (the race is in two days). So the first video I chose was Floor Burn, as I really wanted a no-shoe workout. I've a long time yoga practioner, and actually taught mat pilates for a year or so (about four years ago), so I was reasonably comfortable with the moves (there was one that I got a little confused on, but hey it was my first time through! :p ).

Overall I though it was a good workout -- particularly for my lower abs and hips. I have recurring sciatica problem so keeping my hip and lower back muscles strong but limber is very important for management purposes. I didn't have much in the way of soreness except some pleasant tightness in my abs the day after. The other tape I've done was Fast Cheetah, which I liked a bit more than this one, but I can see returning to Floor Burn for an invigorating, if not super challenging alternative. Of course all the reviews I've read state that the tapes get harder as you do them for longer, so perhaps I'll be eating my words soon!

Can't wait to try the rest next week once race training is over!

I thought this was a great workout. The steps were not hard to follow. Tamala was great in this workout.

I just finished this workout and feel fantastic. The table work was killer as was the ab work. Come to think of it, so was the tricep work via cobra pushups and the bridge work...

The weird thing about this workout is that it's definitely challenging, but it is kind of fun. The music is very unobtrusive yet motivating, which to me is perfect. Tamela really shines in this one, she seems so much more at ease here than in Flexposture (a workout I truly love).

The pilates in this is pretty tough at times. I liked that she uses the step as a table support for the pilates moves, it helped relieve pressure on my back and improved my form.

The stretches here were sooooo nice. Honorable mention to the mermaid stretch, done at *just*the right time and hitting the exact spot. Also the stretches seated on the box.

I highly recommend this to anyone who has had a stressful day, yet still wants to fit in a workout. Trust me on this!

This workout is great! I didn't know what to expect and was quite intrigued when I saw the pie chart on the back of the case.

I am not a spring chicken and I found some parts easy and some parts challenging. The leg lifts were great. I really felt my glutes burning. The leap frogs were tough.

Overall, I love Floor Burn!

I did this workout yesterday, I think for only the second time. As floor workouts go, it is great. I just don't get into working out on the floor. Tamela is great in this workout, leaving me more confused than ever about why she was mugging so much as a background exerciser. She doesn't do that even when she's leading.

This workout definitely fits into a WHFN rotation! I'm still so happy and grateful for these workouts. :D
