Hi Lori:
I just looked out your pictures your dog is cute.
Is all that snow still there or did it melt. Before all this cold weather we would get snow and the warm enough weather to melt the snow.
I like your house how long have you lived there?
Oh I did get my laptop I still didn't get everything straightened out but I like it so far. I am noticing some programs that didn't work on the previous Windows program are working on Vista.

looks like it's just you & me today, Diane?
I forgot to send you the picture of Cheemo at the bottom of the stairs. just sent it now.
all that snow is still here. when I took those pictures that was kind of in the middle of the snow storms. we got about that much more on top of what you see.
it's melting, but, not fast enough. it's off the roads now. but, everyone's yards & parking lots are going to take forever for it to go away.
it hasn't been warm enough or rainy enough for it to go away.
I wish I took one picture of Cheemo standing in our front yard beside the driveway. the snow was about 8 feet high. really.
I ran for 47 minutes on the treadmill & then did the Candlelight yoga dvd. then took Cheemo for a walk. just finished lunch. gotta make a grocery list for tomorrow.
what are you up to?
hey, do you find the plasma tv is great for yoga? It's easy to look up when your doing your laying down poses. before with the regular tv on the stand, I was having to crank my head to look up at the screen.
ya, it will take awhile before you get used to the new laptop completely.
funny, eventually you'll end up liking it more than what you had.
we've lived here for 17 years now. when we first moved here it was really nice & quiet. there weren't too many houses out this way then. now it's getting more & more built up with subdivisions.
there were alot more rabbits, squirrels, raccoons & coyotes, because it was quite bushy. not so much any more.
all in all, it's ok still.
the kids/teenagers around here are very spoiled, their parents are I'd say middle income, but the kids seem to have alot of flashy cars & clothes. they like to drink & do drugs in the bushes. guessing it's pretty much like that almost everywhere now.
one nice thing about our house is the cul-de-sac (no through road traffic) & we live on the end. fairly quiet. plus right behind us is a greenbelt & on the one side of us is a b.ig peice of bush that's owned by the city. with no future expectations of houses being built on it. so we really have only one neighbour right next door.
Diane, do you live in New Jersey?
I plan on using that crockpot of mine, twice next week. see how that goes.
I'm glad you got your laptop up & running again. it's so nice to talk with you, like in the beginning. we've been friends online now for quite awhile. wonder when we all first started posting? I can't remember, but, I do know it's been quite sometime now.
I better carry on with my chores. I'll pop back again later, see if there are any more posts.:)

Lori:
Does Cheemo get lost in the snow?
I wanted to do a Crockpot dinner today also but never got around to it.
We are having pizza instead I usually get a salad along with the pizza.
I did some laundry instead. I really did nothing worth while today but the day is almost over already.
Where we live now used to be so quite when we first moved in now I can't stand it. Without getting myself into to much trouble all I can say is we have alot of people who live here who shouldn't be by law, but things are done much to take care of it.
Do you have a morgage on your house that you have to worry about?
Thats one thing we don't have on any of the houses we own thank goodness.
We just have to worry about taxes.
Diane
Lori
January 17th, 2009, 08:20 AM
no mortgage here either. we paid it off a few years back now. high city taxes though.
normally, Cheemo loves the snow. but, even this year, it was too much for him.
too much snow & way too cold this time around. like you, we normally get a dusting & then it warms up & melts right away.
we had to make these little trails/paths for him to get around. he's just a little runt. a pipsqueak. we've had cats b.igger than him! LOL
he looks b.igger than he is. all hair. when he's wet, he looks like a long kleenex box. he weighs about 13lbs.
on that picture I last sent, we have to block Cheemo off the stairs to the sundeck.
he's falling off them twice. scared the daylights out of me. from really high too.
we put up lattice along the sides of the stairs, he roars up & down them.
amazed he didn't really get hurt.
he was dazed & confused. not a good experience. I believe he knocked himself out. when I raced down the stairs to get him. he was stunned & he had a bloody lip. awful. anyhow, it happened again later, but not quite as high up a fall.
I felt like a really bad parent.
figured that's it, he's not allowed on them anymore. so we block him off. carry him up & down them, if we go that way.
he's fine on the inside house stairs. but, the sundeck is steeper.
as you can see, I told you he was spoiled & like a son to me. my fur-baby.
I haven't done a whole lot today myself either. kind of lazy. eating icecream right now. LOL it is soy though.
I love pizza. frozen & Pizza Hut. heck, from anywhere. pizza's one of my favorite foods.
I'm always alittle freaked out about leaving that crockpot on when I go out?
I know that's what one of their features of having one is, but, it scares me.
wonder if Saundra got called in to work today?
Annette's probably busy with her kids?
carrying on with a few more chores. ready myself to call it a day. finishing up here & will make myself a tea & grab my book until suppertime.
take care Diane, & enjoy your evening. thanks for the chats today.

Hi y'all,
I picked up Paula Deen's cookbooks at a garage sale, great receipes but have to modify some of them. But-hur, but-hur and more but-hur!
Sorry to hear about the sucides, that his horrible. The plane crash in NY was indeed a miracle.
I love vanilla ice cream and picked up a quart of low fat for 1.59 at Kroger. Of course my family doesn't like. Nothin' healthy in my household, no indeed. Except for Triscuits. 2 for 4.00 at Food Lion. The great interruptus has complained for the last week about everything. I finally firgured out (sorry about the pun), that I have decided to workout again and he doesn't like. Oh well....
I didn't get a chance to workout on Friday, besides The Bean. I did Super sculpting abs or something like that. I felt my abs, I wouldn't mind getting the Flex 10 attachment for the Bean since that workout came with it.
Today I did Tortoise and Hare. I went to do errands this morning, it was 26 degrees or so, I think it finally warmed up to 40 degrees. At least the sun is out. We are expecting snow flurries, but I have to wait and see.
Katie sang well. She has been on the children's choir and now teen choir for a few years. It is her social outlet. There are hardly any girls in this neighborhood just stinky boys. Thanks for asking.
I live in surburia, which as been really built up the last few years. It is okay but I would prefer to live in town in an old house that has been re-hab with history. That is my historian in me comin' out.
I got my crockpot out today, made soup. The special ed classes at the high school make a soup mixture. I added tomatoes, onion, green peppers, carrots. I have cornbread in the oven. Talk about multi-tasking!
I did manage to take a power nap, in spite of the interruptus!
Walgreens has a special on vitamin c that tastes and looks and lozenges. I picked up to 2 packs and more vitamins.
Saundra whenever you get a chance could you email me pics?
Have y'all tried the "natural pizza" from Pizza Hut? I really don't like their sauce but I wouldn't mind tryin' this pizza.
I am not gonna to tell y'all, that Circuit City is going out of business and having sale. ;0) But I never find anything in their workout wise, perhaps on the other side of town.
Y'all have a great night! Stay warm!
Diane I
January 17th, 2009, 12:15 PM
Hi Annette:
I took a nap too which suprised me because I got up a little late.
must be an ice cream day, Lori had some to.
I heard about Circuit City I feel bad for all those people losing their jobs and for the company being around so long and then they are gone.
Lane Bryant is closing in my area also not that I really shopped there once in a while for my niece or sister. I think Lane Bryant is just a store closing though.
You still have a garage sales, we won't see any until spring. I probably need to have one but is so time consuming. Plus we have this *** hill of a driveway if I try just to sell stuff at the bottom no one comes so I usually have to lug the stuff up the hill. The hill is fun for slay riding though. It is supposed to snow again to night.
I like old houses to I remember going in my Grandmother's attic and looking at the old stuff she would have up there. As a kid it was like an adventure she also had an attic off the side of her house she lived in one of those *** old houses. At one time they also had horses there, I remember you could still smell them. When I was in High school they moved to PA boy was I made at them. I didn't see my Grandfather after that he died a year later.
Does Katie do any solos?
Lori Cheemo weighs as much as my cat does, but she is a little over weight she should only weigh between 8 or nine pounds.
It was funny I was thinking of having Ice cream and I passed on it and there you and Annette were having some.
Annette should I even ask did you make the corn bread from scratch? One of my favorite. My sister tries to make it sometimes I don't know what she does but it always comes out a little sour. I never had that problem.
How do you like the bean? I thought about getting it at one time but did want something else taking up space.
Have a good night
Diane
I am just going to have to get the crockpot out and start cooking, there is this barely stew in the WW cookbook I want to try.

Oh wow. You ladies have been busy. I will come back and read through the post in more detail.
Diane, the president-elect did come through our area. I didn't go downtown which is about 15 minutes from me. It was 7 degrees out there today.
Annette, you want the picture from the last FIRM trip? I need to locate them and will email them as soon as I can.
Lori, I do have that book or I have a book about Agatha Christie's autobiography. I have so much of her work that when I go to order something else, I have to check to make sure I don't already have it. I have ordered something I have already had in the past.
Lori, I can only hope that STS will really ship on the 27th.
I had a 4lbs weight loss today at WW this morning.

I had a 4lbs weight loss today at WW this morning.
Saundra
Saundra, that is AWESOME! "weigh" to go!!! I'm so proud of you! you must be happy about that!? you mean business. this is only your first 2 weeks.
excellent. I'm typing & smilin' for ya. love it.
as I laid my head to the pillow last nite, my discussion with Diane came to mind. I thought, oh I spelled something wrong! LOL
I wrote lamented..LOL I meant laminated wood beams. DH would kill me. (what was I thinking?)
very cold & sunny here too. I'm nervous actually about going grocery shopping this morning. black ice.
Saundra, I think Annette means my pictures. I'll send them. I just remembered I could have gotten your emails from here? from the private message section?
now you can understand my whining about the snow. LOL....see, I wasn't faking it with the shovelling.
Annette, I hope it's just "flurries".
I bet Katie is really good then, if she's been singing for that long. I wish I could sing. I'm bloody awful.
that soup & cornbread sounds perfect for this time of year. especially on a chilly winter day. yum.
DH isn't fond of the "healthy" stuff either. I don't think any man really is?
Saundra, I feel sorry for alot of the girls who preordered STS so long ago. geesh, that's such a long wait. so many girls had these "penciled in" for their rotations. oh well, not anything new really in the delay department, is it?
Diane, eating icecream in the dead of winter is weird, isn't it? probably just as good that you didn't have any. if it makes you feel any better for not having some. I gained 1.5lbs this morning from yesterday! & I'm blaming it on my icecream! LOL
better get going, lots to do today.
have a good one, gang.

Hi Lori:
I wouldn't worry about misspelling words I do it all of the time.
It snowed again, so shoveling again, my husband has a hernia(Not sure of the spelling) so I don't bug him to much to help. I just bug him to call the doctor but he wants to finish the apartment first. He has had it for months.
Saundra wow 4 pounds great job, did I ever ask how huch you want to lose?

Thanks ladies.
Diane, considering that I put on about 15lbs btw November and December eating junk, now I want to loose 40lbs. Originally it was just 25lbs. Unless I have a financial meltdown, I plan to commit to WW for the entire year. But my first goal is to get this 15lbs off I put on because I feel uncomfortable.
Lori, I am tone def myself. I could never enter an Karoke contest, althought I lipsynch pretty well.
I am planning out the WAVE workouts again and giving them another go.:
My schedule is:
Sunday - Rock It Off/Express Abs
Monday - Speed Slimming Sculpt
Tuesday - Rock Solid Abs
Wednesday - Rock Solid Buns
Thursday - Rock Solid Cardio
Friday - Treadmill
I may add in an extra workout since these are so short, we will see how much time I have on those days.

Hi Saundra:
About the same for me if not a little more. I want the same 15 pounds off that I gained when my mother died. Then move on from there.
I did a short workout myself about 40 minutes of weights Cathe 4 day split
I already shoveled the snow that was enough for me

I just noticed your picture, is that you?
I have question for did you buy Cheemo? I bought my last cat because I wanted a certain kind. I did get cats from the animal shelter but I didn't have any luck the couple that I got died with in a year.
I would hear grief because I bought my cat from a breeder.

January 18th, 2009, 07:07 AM
I have no doubt Saundra & Diane, you will both lose those 15lbs quickly this year. & the rest later, too.
yes, my mugshot. I can't get a close up. putting up an avatar here is not easy. at least not for the ignorant like me. LOL
ok, then we all agree...spelling is not important here.
Diane, usually we get our pets from the pound. our last dog was a Lab from the SPCA. he had real issues. scared of men. obviously he was beaten by a man. long story short, he was terrified of thunder & fireworks. one day we had a terrible thunder storm & he dug his way out under the fence while we were at work & got hit by a car.
it was terrible. I got a call from the SPCA my dog had been hit & killed.
I was devastated. I swore I would never get another dog.
I get too attached.
then for my anniversary, DH surprised me with Cheemo. he knew someone from work who was a breeder, from California, actually.
love at first sight. how could I say no. you should have seen him when he was a baby.
we've had cats heavier than him too. LOL...he thinks he's huge. a heart of a lion. the little runt thinks he's a great dane.
all our other dogs & cats except for one Siamese were from the pound. they lived to be ripe old ages, but, all had problems of some kind. poor things. how can people be so cruel?
oh, now come to think of it, we had a german shepherd that was really ill & didn't live very long. about 3 years.
I think you take a chance with pound puppies & cats. but, gosh darn it, I feel so bad for them.
DH won't let me near the pound. he goes in & gets a pet. he's afraid I'd bring the whole works of them home.
I'm a sucker for strays.
at one time we had a bird, 2 dogs & 2 cats. a little zoo.
Saundra, is your Plum Spooky good? I've read lots of great reviews on it.
I'll ask my mom the author of that Agatha Christie book, see if it's the same as what you read before. I know it's paperback.
Diane, my DH has a bad back when it comes to shovelling. yet, he has no problem going to play his rec-hockey with his buddies?!
I feel sorry for you. I can't take anymore winter already. I swear I was about to crack up with all the snow.
very sunny & warm here today. hopefully this will come your way soon.
Diane, what did your mom pass away from? she must have been young also?
now Saundra, maybe if you & me had enough drinks in us, we could be brave enough & do a "lovely" duet in a karoke joint? LOL
Annette, I haven't tried that kind of pizza from Pizzahut. I don't think DH would go for it. always go for the supreme or Hawaiian.
maybe one day when I win the lotto the 4 of us girls can go out for that pizza? ....in Hawaii. my treat. oh, & Anna & Ginger are invited also, of course.
I better stop fooling around on the computer now & get back to my chores.
back later...

Hi y'all,
I am glad spellin' doesn't count and not get graded because my hands and brain often don't work together. As St. Theresa would say, "dot your own i's and cross your own t's as long as you get the message (I am paraphrasing). It was warm 47 degrees and then it rained and cool some. No snow today, I am afraid.
Saundra, way to go about your weight lose! I am proud of you! You must have sent it to me. But then again when I lift I tend to gain a few pounds for a few days. It seems it will be a mad house in your area for the next few days, Saundra. Do y'all have Monday off?
Lori that sounds good about the trip to Hawaii with pizza. I had a great pizza when I was in Oregon. Dave is from out there. Everything in Oregon is bohemian, fresh and natural. Speakin' of which Dave made a pot roast, but I just haaad to doctor it just a tad bit. He didn't know the difference! Dave also got grapes and so did I today. I usually go shopping after 8:00 service. He went shopping after 10:30.
Katie has a choir voice not a solo voice. She participates for the social aspects of it. Just like Andrew participates in sports for the social. Andrew also plays the violin. I wish I had let Katie continue violin but she would never practice. Of course Andrew practices when he is bored. I don't make them practice music.
On Sunday we have desserts, and I got a carrot cake which was on sale and Dave brought home candy bars and eclairs. I am glad we only treat ourselves once a week to desserts! Of course I just had to have just a little bit of ice cream. I don't drink milk, so this is one way of getting my calcium. And cheap ice cream is good for you because of the seaweed that is in it.
Here we go again with peanut ****er! Not that eat it all the time but I love chunky peanut ****er. I found slivered almonds on sale at Walgreens and tossed them in a spinach salad. Perhaps I could have done w/o the bacon. But I did add tomatoes, feta cheese as well.
About us singin'...what we call ourselves, "Diane and Unsupremes" or "Iron Mayhems" LOL!
I did cardio today, and took a long nap. Hope y'all have a great night!
I am enjoying our forum! Y'all are such wonderful women!
Lori
January 18th, 2009, 10:54 AM
Annette, I know what you mean about our forum. I am so happy the 4 of us hooked up here. right back at ya.
We are so lucky Anna & Ginger let us chat like we do.
I am a chunky peanut ****er lover too. I read in Oxygen fitness magazine awhile back, where they had this poll, & apparently men love chunky peanut ****er & a very, very low margin of women do. we must have more testorone from lifting weights? LOL
that's what it said. women like smooth more than chunky? nope, not me.
carrot cake. love it. I'm not a sickeningly sweet dessert lover. carrot cake is good for you. same as ice cream. as long as you don't go overboard. you & me are so alike. I don't drink milk anymore either. the ice cream I've been eating is soy. it's really good, actually. I started using soy milk in place of milk.
how did you & Dave meet? he's far away from Oregon!?
I hope I didn't step out of line, sending you all those pictures email? didn't mean to go out of bounds.
DH laughed when he looked at my pictures I sent. LOL
one he said I looked angry & mad. said I looked like Casey Anthony! (thanks alot)
he asked why I had to hold the dumb dog in every picture? LOL....we're like siamese twins.
Diane & the Unsupremes! LMAO....Annette you are one smart cookie. your mind is always spinning & working, isn't it!? that was a good one....snork-snork.

Lori, it is so nice to see you. I love looking at the picutuers. It is always nice to see who you are talking to. Diane, that means you are next. I know what Annette looks like.
Annette, I like super creamy peanut b.u.t.ter myself. I always buy reduce fat though and then I take and mix with low fat jam. For a P & J sandwich.
Annette I do have to work tomorrow. I am pulling a 12 hour shift, but I will try to get the FIRM pics to you by Tuesday. If I am terribly bored tomorrow and I am hoping I will be because that means the day will be slow, I will pop in and chat with you all.
Lori it will take a lot of drinks for that Karoke. ;)
Okay, I have to be at work at 6am tomorrow, so I am heading off to pack my backpack and I am trying to be in bed by 10pm.

that's right Diane. Annette, Saundra & myself have had our pic's posted.
I love looking at pic's too. but, I'm nosy. LOL
DH said, "I'm sure they've seen enough pic's of Cheemo". probably boring you to all to death.
like when friends drag out the baby pictures.
I'll take some pictures of our house in the spring so you can see it. LOL
when you've had enough of my picture taking, please tell me...ENOUGH ALREADY.
violin. wow, I'm thinking that would be hard. I wouldn't even attempt to try that.
I wish I played an instrument. I have no talent there either.
I tried when I was a kid, the trumpet, then flute. never stuck with either.
I am sure, if I sang in the choir, I would be sticking out like a sore thumb. I'd be kicked out for sure.
felt dumb Saundra. it is a biography. isn't autobiography when the person writes about themselves? duh.
anyhow, this book is called, The Life & Crimes of Agatha Christie. by Charles Osborne. sound familar?
do you realize Saundra, that you are almost 1/2 way at your 15lb loss already? you really deserve a pat on the back. keep up the good work.
peanut ****er & jam sandwiches are so good. & they are good for you. lots of protein & satisfies your hunger. love peanut & jam toast.
I'm off now too. been a fun day with you all. lots of goofing around on my part.

Lori:
You do have some pretty blue eyes. Don't worry I will post my picture as soon as I figure out how do it. I will do it from my new though better scenery.
Yes my Mom wasn't that old she didn't even reach retirement age.
She just turned 63 while in the hospital.
She had many things going on one of them was a bad knee operation that really caused her pain alot of them time. She had liver problems drinking when she was younger. Had a *** problem with circulation that I think eventually that lead to her death. She also had type 2 diabeties (spelling again) she fooled around with her insulin and eating she wanted to get off it so she would take her insuline without eating and then go to the doctor so she would have a low reading that really messed up things. So one day we get a call from my step father that my mother was in the hospital and everything seemed fine. She liked to hide things well one of the things she was hiding was that her leg was turning black and they wanted to cut it off and at that point I think that was when my mother gave up she didn't want to live with out it. This Febuary will be 3 years boy does time go by.
I am for crunchy peanut ****er skippy reduced fat also.
Annette do you make carrot cake? I have to say I make a pretty good one I should dig out the recipe and post it for you. I don't make it that often because I am the only one who eats it. My niece will ask for it once in a while when she has her ballet lunceon.
Saundra 12 hours is a long day especially when you are bored.
Hey Lori its snowing again I just had to you know.

Boy is it earlier. I made it to work ontime but I am not used to getting up this earlier.
I thought about trying to workout before I came in, but 330am came way too early and I will either workout when I get home today or tomorrow.
Diane, my grandmother had type 2 diabetes. That's another reason I really try to control my weight.
Lori, Yes I am half way to the 15lbs loss. It is nice, but a bit of a bummer to half to cover the same old ground.
The life and crimes of Agatha Christie by Charles Osborne does sound familiar. I might even have it. I need to re-catelogue my books and audio books. I keep saying one day I will make up a database for them. I have yet to get around to doing that.
The only thing I ever tried to play was the guitar and the piano. I actually have a magic light keyboard. I have had it for about 10 years now. I don't use it but it still works. The keys light up to tell you which key you should be pressing to make the song come out right.
Okay off to do some work I think. I will check back in later.

LOL Diane...green eyes. but, my brother has some real pretty blue eyes. we used to tease him & call him wolfy. they are a grey-blue.
it's funny, I do get complimented on my eyes. but, to be totally honest, if you look up close, I have 2 different coloured eyes. freaked my SIL one day. she was younger & she was screaming, "ewww, ones yellower than the other". LOL
I think everybody has pretty eyes. amazing how they are like fingerprints, huh?
DH had to get his eye done for work to travel. you know that thing they have now at the airport. like some Arnold Schwarzenegger (I'm sure I butchered that) movie.
Saundra, that sounds like it would be fun. (the keyboard).
my brother plays guitar too. he's actually really good.
I'm thinking the violin must sound so nice in the house, too. my parents used to make me go outside & practice. LOL...disturbing all the neighbours.
the only thing I can remember to play is, When The Saints Go Marching In". LOL & it's not very good.
flute, I can't remember at all.
goodness, I just noted that, both my instruments were blowers!? it's true, I'm full of hot air?!
raccoons in our garbage last nite, keep waking me up. started at 1:00. of course the dog didn't help with his barking.
oh that snow. don't even mention it Diane. looking outside here makes me want to lose my marbles.
I mentioned my grandma had diabetes. she was only 56 when she passed away. she fooled around with her insulin. never took it when she should, etc., etc. sounds like your mom Diane. anyhow, long story short again. she ended up getting gangerine in her foot. which then her leg had to be amputated from the knee. eventually she died from complications of diabetes. pretty sad.
my dad died at 59 from lung cancer. (smoker) when I think of how young both my grandma & dad were. I mean that's not that far off now, to where I am. give or take 10 years.
& what really gets me going, is both these deaths are health related. maybe could have been prevented with life style changes?
you know what I mean? not car accidents.
makes you think alright. for me anyhow.
now Saundra, do you have to go into work tomorrow?
so by the time you finish up your Wave rotation, hopefully your STS's will be here?
I know what you mean weight loss wise. listen, weekly I still struggle with 2 or 3 lbs. it's a constant battle.
I told you once, I'll tell you again. I'm so bound & determined not to ever gain again.
once you make your mind up though, you can accomplish anything.
I have this set point now, that I refuse to go over.
I let myself play around with the 2 or 3 lbs. you know, you gotta live, kind of thing. I like to have a treat here & there once in awhile.
but, I know, if I let it get out of control, it is so easy for me to gain.
especially now that I'm older.
keep doing what your doing. your doing great. I can tell, you've made up your mind this time. your ready for the weight to go & stay off.
I'm glad you didn't work out at 3:30 in the morning! that's crazy. don't burn yourself out!

Lori:
Sorry on my computer they came off as blue, they are still pretty.
Lori my cousin and I do the same thing, our mothers died at the same age both at 63 my aunt the year before the year before my mother.
My father quit smoking 5 or 6 years ago maybe more he got nervous when they say a spot on his x-rays, now if my step father would quit that would be great.
Nothing going on today I have most of they day off my niece and nephew will be here later.
Saundra my son took piano lessons for 10 years you ask him to play something and he doesn't remember anything but the scales.

Lori:
Sorry on my computer they came off as blue, they are still pretty.
oh heck, not a problem. I thought it was funny. I shouldn't have even said anything.
one of the neighbours daughter plays the piano. it sounds so nice in the summertime, when all the windows are open. so relaxing. beautiful.
Diane, I smoked like a freakin' steam engine. at least 2 packs a day, near the end before I quit. but, when my dad got sick, that did it for me.
I am so scared of ending up in the hospital.
the only time I go to the doc's office is for my papsmear & mammogram.
best to stay healthy for sure.
now's the time right? while your still young enough.
my brother still smokes if you can believe it? now that's addicted.
my dad went through hell. lung cancer, well any cancer is not good, but, he was very, very sick.
when I look back at how unhealthy I was in my 20's, I'm so amazed at what a different person I was to what I am now.
in my 40's I'm way better off.
that is wonderful your dad quit. it is so hard. good for him.
nag, nag, nag your stepdad.
Diane, your son sounds like a cool kid too.
your neice & nephew are lucky to have an aunt like you. are you the youngest or oldest sister?
you have one sis & brother, right?
I better get out of this chair. I'm meeting my mom at 11 for a long dog walk today.
I'll check in later with you all. take care & have a good one.

Saundra, I emailed Mary & told her I really missed her coming soon preorders.
you were right, she hasn't had a chance to get anything up or catch up.
she said she hasn't got anything really exciting coming up, but will try & catch up.
she said her suppliers aren't really giving her any early warnings/leads anymore either.
I told her though, I do appreciate that email she sends out what her New Arrivals are.

Yeah Mary is cool. She gave me the option of getting a refund or a store credit for the duplicate DVD I ordered. I took the store credit. I know I will probably want something in the future.
I am gathering stuff to give away to the National Childeren's Center (NCC). Everyone couple of months they call up to see if I have anything to donate. I am giving them the marjority of my VHS workout tapes. - Lots of FIRM VHS. I am giving them a fanny lifter, tony little scale, deep fryer and some clothes. I swear I have way too much stuff for one person.
Diane and Lori, I might try to do STS when Cathe does it. She is suppose to do the workouts along with us but I don't think she will start unitl all the pre-orders have shipped and people have them in their hands. So I may not be starting until mid-february. I'll see. At first I was anxious to start Feb 1 and I still may because most likely Cathe will not start the workouts until a Monday. I like starting my exercise week on a Sunday.
The keyboard would probably be alot of fun is I actually played it. Basically it is another thing I have that I don't use but when I bought it, I had all these good intentions, but nevertheless, one day I hope to take a stab at it.
I been at work for 6 hours already. The first 1/2 of my day, has gone by quickly. Actually, I am very good at keeping myself amused. It is a rare occasion that I am actually bored.

Lori
January 19th, 2009, 06:42 AM
hmm, Saundra, I think I would do with Cathe too. it's only one day later for you?
I love giving my stuff to charity. makes me feel good. especially knowing someone else will like it. I hate it when people just throw stuff out in the garbage. makes me mad. I mean sometimes I see perfectly good stuff that could have been donated or some organization could have made a profit from it. I see this stuff around here when I take the dog for a walk. makes me mad. such a throw away society now.
somebody's gonna be thrilled with those Firm vhs's.
really nice of you.

Hi ladies:
Lori I never smoked a day in my life I never like the smell. I would have a drink here and there and I eventually stopped that. Now sometimes I will have some Asti at Christmas or New Years.
I usually just put things I don't want into one of those drop off or drod it off at Goodwill. But I haven't gone through my things in a long time. Maybe finally when we move I will have the room to go through things without making a b.ig mess.
I have an older sister, a younger sister and a younger brother.
Today's workout was G.ay gasper Cardio express a premix and yoga with Rodney Yee

Hi y'all, just a brief hello, slap worn out today.
Saundra I awoke around 3:00ish to use the bathroom. Must have been there with you in spirit! Are you giving away the wood fanny lifter? If so tell me how much?
Lori, I played the clarinet when I was younger then I switched to the flute. I also had piano lessons growing up. Now I can't hum a tune in paper bag.
Diane, Dave likes carrot cake but doesn't like carrots. Go firgure. Just like I love onion rings but don't really care for raw onions. I forgot, the cornbread, it is a very secret receipe, shhhh don't tell...."Jiffy" mix. :D Sometimes I add just a pinch of sugar.
A good receipe that I do often for potlucks is Corn Pudding:
-Jiffy mix
-1 egg
-1 cup of sour cream, I use low fat
-1 can of whole corn, with juice
-1 can of creamed corn.
-1 stick of ****er.
Mix, bake for about 350 degrees for an hour or so.
Sometimes I'll add whole corn to my cornbread mix just to give it some pizzia.
Dave's mother has diabetes and his grandmother died from it. My dad has it but controls it with shots and eats a little bit healthy. He is in Florida so he loves fresh fruit and veggies. I have to give him a lesson on getting rid of white bread and white rice. He's family is from Bahamas, and it is rice with everything. I did suggest to daddy to add onion mix to brown rice, so it has flavor. I also add onions and green peppers to my brown rice.
You would think Dave would eat healthy but no, he really doesn't. And poor Katie is at that stage, she would rather please daddy than me. Andrew is so active and I notice he eats plenty of carbs. The boy can eat a monster burger. About a gizzillion calories for sure, not including all that salt! I try and get him to eat veggies and fruit.
When I temp at Blue Cross and Blue Shield I would work from 6 to 6. It was weird leaving home in the dark and returning home in the dark. I had a great boss, and flex time was great. I didn't like the 2nd temp job at BC/BS. Anyway,
I am off to watch the "snow" , the kids have been out of school since Friday. In Service Day and then today for MLK, Jr. Tonight I get a phone call from the school that they are closing tomorrow because of the predicated snow. Never minds I don't see nary a snowflake!

Hello all.
Pretty much a lazy day for me. I ran errands and spent a couple of hours watching the Inauguration. I am so glad that I didn't have to go down to work today. It would have been a nightmare trying to move around.
Lori, I will test out the calulator and let you know how I faired.
Annette, if I come down to Columbia in April, will bring you the wooden boxes. Do you want all 4? I have a 14in, 10in, 6in and 4in. Although the 4in is missing a screw.

Hi Ladies:
Have s stupid question for you. I have been going to get my hair done for the past couple of years at 2 different places.
The past couple of times I have been going to the woman's house she said she would give me a break on the price if I went to her house well last time I got a color done and some low-lights well she charged me 20.00 for a **** dryon top of the price for the color and lo-lights, I was a little annoyed she is washing my hair in her kitchen sink it's not like she has the whole set up at home and I don't think the lighting is to good in her kitchen my gray hair came through pretty quickly.
Well any I made an appointment at the other place I go to and asked for a different person. Would you ladies feel funny about going to someone else while the other person is there?
The person on the phone tried to give a different appointment when she was there but I wasn't available for that time.
Annette I actually like brown rice better than the white rice you can also add fat free chicken broth or beef if you perfer to the rice to give it more flavor.
So did you get the snow? I think it silly when they cancel school even before a flake falls they do that alot here and other times is snowing and school it on.
Saundra Jenny Craig called me to come in I wish my friend would stop telling them to call. I know she is doing great but I just don't have the money.
the women on the phone said I don't have to buy food I am thinking how is that going to work that is their business unless she gets something for people coming in.
Lori how was your day?
My workout was great to day I don't know why but I have been feeling good physically lately.

Hi Y'all,
Saundra, yes to the boxes, I am so excited. I can find a screw, perhaps two, one for the boxes and one for me! :D LOL I saw part of the ceremonies today before I had to do errands. Those girls are so precious aren't they. Now if I can get my kids to make their bed, that is a congressional act!
Then my neighbor I went to neighbors and chatted for awhile. I did manage to workout, yes!
Lori, I wanted oh so to clean out clutter and get rid of clothes I don't wear anymore. But no,,,,,I fell asleep mid morning. Then Dave called and woke me up. He can sense when I take a nap.
Diane, if you are not happy with that person by all means go to somewhere you feel comfortable. I need to make an appointment to get my hair done as well. Why is getting beautiful so expensive! Besides we are worth it!
I haven't thought about the broth in rice idea. We had leftover roast beef with brown rice tonight.
3rd week of 90 Day Rotation. Since I skipped yesterday, I doubled up. I did Bust and ****, and Tough Aerobic Mix (from the Classical parts). I told Susan, "no this was not better than dieting!" LOL
Okay, admit, do y'all talk back to the instructors or repeat what they are saying, for example, Heidi, "a little cha-cha!" I am glad there are no hidden cameras when I workout, that is for sure!
Oh yeah, we got a dusting of snow, I still can't believe schools were closed. My neighbor's son, came over at 7:20, woke Andrew to see the snow. By 8:00 both kids were in the snow. It was over by 9:00 or so. But they had fun. That is all that matters.
Y'all have a great night!
Lori

Annette, those girls are precious! I can't believe everytime I see Malia she is taller each time! goodness she grows fast.
I love them little girls too. they are way too cute. I like how was it Sasha or Malia told her daddy, "his speech better be good". LOL
yep, they are adorable.
they were on Ellen with the Jonas Brothers. one of the Jonas brothers said they were playing with the girls ping pong & they beat him. LOL & he was really trying.
what a historic day. hope & change for the world. we need it, that's for sure.
DH was sent home early again today. not good.:(
tried cheering him up.
plans to use the crockpot tomorrow. some real easy stew. just stew meat, can of mushroom soup, water. carrots, an onion & potatoes. simple huh, see how it tastes though?
hmm, that would be very uncomfortable with the hairdresser right there. but, I'm with Annette..tough! it's your hair. I'd go with the other stylist too, if your forking out the $$$, it's your money.
I haven't been happy with my stylist for a long time. she keeps doing what she wants to do. doesn't really listen to me anymore.
I seem to have that problem after a few years with stylists?
I'm growing my hair out long again. told you before, I go from one extreme to the other. super short to longer. I have greys coming in too. but, I have to say, either I'm getting lazy or real comfortable with myself, that I actually like the greys??? really.
since I went back dark to my natural haircolour, they don't look as gross as they did when I had my hair blonde? we'll see how long I last. LOL
well, that Oxygen magazine poll with the peanut b.utter was obviously alot of bunk!? of the 4 of us, we all liked the chunky?! which was exactly the opposite of what they were touting. alot of bunk!
Saundra, was the only girly-girl who liked the smooth. LOL
putting on my pj's & ready to watch some hockey. talk to you all tomorrow.
crm549
January 21st, 2009, 05:58 AM
Lori, I don't like nuts which is why I don't like the chunky.
Diane, I usually go to JC Penney's to get my hair done and I have never stayed with the same Stylist. And they are all usually right there when I go in for my hair appt.
Annette, I talk back to the instructors all the time. I look forward to seeing yo in April.
Monday it snowed here. I didn't realize that until I was driving home from the train station. Thats what happens when you work 14 hours, you miss the snow. But it was light. When I got home, all I needed was my broom to sweep the snow off the porch.
I am checking in with more WAVE workouts. Rock Solid Abs and Rock Solid Buns. Only one more to do.
Thanks

Hi y'all,
Didn't get a chance to workout today, Katie had an eye doctor appointment. To make a looong story short, ended up at Walmart. NO Lori, I didn't get the new Mari or Rodney. I heard your voice, put that dvd down. :D LOL But you would think that Walmart would have the newest Firm releases but noooooo!
I did a comment today and how wonderful I look even with my grey hair. Then I just had to say I workout at home with Firms and Fitprime. Then we talked about food and portions, etc. I must be a fitness magnet or something. I just need a bumper sticker now. I can see it....one of my really "buff" pictures with the caption. If you want to look like me, workout!
Saundra if you don't like cruncy pnut ****er, why are you with us "nuts" just kidding of course! I didn't need a broom to sweep snow, it didn't stick. Too warm.
I started going grey in college and colored my hair, but I don't anymore. My hair is already fried plus mean o pause ain't helpin' any. It keeps getting drier and more brittle.
Diane I hope the hair situation works out for the best. Women and their hair, on the next Oprah!
Went out to eat after doctor's appointment. Katie got her first contacts today! We had to celebrate and of course, his royal high a$$-Andrew, was feigning jealously because he made 96 on a test. We had to celebrate that as well. Children!
Talk at y'all tomorrow.
Lori, sorry hubby was sent home early. HUGS allll around. And good vibes>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Hi Ladies:
Well I did get my hair done today, It came out really nice and it wasn't as uncomfortable as I thought it would be, the person I usually go to just asked how I was and how my house was coming along and that was it.
My hubby finally made that doctors appointment, I guess they don't take any chances they gave him an appointment for tomarrow night. I am going to make sure he goes no excuses.
It was really cold today my sister asked me to go to the cemetery to take some things down before they clean up and throw the stuff out. I should have had a video camera I would have gave you all a laugh.
For some reason I am thinking I could just go and take the stuff down well guess what I forgot about the snow everything was buried under the snow and I have to dig it out well guess what I forget my gloves.
I just picked up the stupid christmas tree and threw it in my trunk I have no
idea if I left anything there.
Annette my hair was getting dry also I started using Moroccan oil I thought it was going to make my hair oily or greasey but it didn't unless of course I use to much, but it did help with the condition of my hair. Its for all hair types a little expensive though I ended up getting it at amazon.com for a cheaper price. It smells pretty nice also.
No workout today I didn't have the time.
Diane
Lori
January 21st, 2009, 11:45 PM
Diane, you did make me laugh this morning. (picturing you at the cemetery)...sounds like it was comedy.
good for you for braving it out at the hairdressers. doesn't it usually turn out that way? you fret & worry & it's not as bad as you think.
you can all count me in on the hair getting drier too department. I used to have very oily, greasy hair, now not so. but, I do think it was from all the processing that I've done? which is one of the reasons I stopped. another is I am so tired of having to go & get my roots done. it's so expensive too.
Annette, I hope I can continue with not covering the greys. so far so good.
Saundra's comment about going to someone different all the time, is a deciding factor for me to go to someone new next time. I think it's time I need a new stylist again.
Wow, Annette, I am so darn proud of you for passing on the Rodney's especially! LOL that must have been tough!
Saundra, what's your final consensus on the Wave's now that you've done them some more again?
if it's gonna snow, let it be the sweeping kind. LOL, not the shovelling kind.
has been sunny here for the past couple of weeks. warm. nice. wish it would stay like this forever. no change for this week...so far.
yesterday, I started to do Eva Barash's Living Room Yoga. not good. at least I didn't care for it. she was very strange. I think she was too young for me. LOL
it wasn't hard to follow, she just was very silly & annoying to me. downright goofy. definitely not your average yoga teacher.
she lost me at the 15 minute mark, when she announced the next sun salutation was going to be without any instruction. & this was after doing too many IMO already. I don't like doing that "following along bit" of yoga.
so it was "cut" for me. I grabbed All The Right Moves Tight Tush. OMG!
this was a killer!
there is a segment of about 10 minutes with your feet against the wall, I thought my b.utt was gonna explode! surprisingly this morning, I wasn't as sore as I was expecting.
I am highly recommending this dvd if you want a killer b.utt workout. it's up there with an Original Firm tallstep torture workout.
bet Katie's excited about her contacts. children, Annette watch it, they grow up so fast.
my crockpot supper was not very good. tasteless & tough. not impressed.
will try something else today actually. some chicken thigh recipe. hope it's better.
have a good one-everyone.

January 22nd, 2009, 02:20 AM
Good Morning.
Lori, the only workout I really liked was Rock It Off. The other workouts were either just okay and/or not fun. I don't think I will be adding them into my rotations anytime soon, if ever.
The part of my hair that gets super drive is in the middle towards the back of my skull. I have a lot of breakage there as well. It is so annoying. The rest of my hair can grow out with not problem but not that patch.
Diane, I would be very annoyed with the Jenny Craig person calling me repeatedly. I like how WW does it. When you don't show up for awhile, they will send you a post card in the mail telling you that they miss you. But I typically get annoyed when my phone rings anyway, so that could be part of why them calling would annoy me.
I get annoyed also when people come to my door trying to sell me something. The other night a person came - selling - even though the first words out of their mouth was that they weren't trying to sell me anything, but they were trying to get me to change my home security system to theirs - so yes you are trying to sell me something!
Got to go to work.
Saundra
Lori
January 22nd, 2009, 03:30 AM
Saundra, isn't that funny? (about that patch on your head) I wonder if you banged it when you were little? or had some trauma when you were being born?
a kid we went to high school with, had this b.ig grey patch of hair on the front of his head. he was only 16. he had got hit with a baseball when he was younger & it grew in grey after.
right now I'm at that part where the growing out part is in the "ugly" stage.
I keep telling myself to get past it.
my hair has other issues, cowlicks. in the front & in that spot your talking about Saundra. not the easiest head of hair to work with. plus it's poker straight. won't take a curl for longer than 5 seconds.
my brother has this thick head of curly hair?! & he was ironing his hair straight when he was a teenager, while I was frying mine with perms!
ahh, you always want what you don't have? true?
ya, the Wave kit did it for me. just not impressed with the Firm anymore. sorry to say. uninspiring. I think they are great for newcomers. I can't remember, is Rock It Off with Alison? or was that the latest with Kelsie? (I didn't get that one).
I just finished the first dvd from YogaPulse (that 6 dvd set, I was talking about) with Anastasia Dorohova.
when it came on the screen, the scenery is spectacular.
then she spoke. LOL....she has this stern Russian accent!? she has two other people in the workout. a lookalike of Anna Kournikova & some guy who looks like he should be the enemy in a Rocky movie. LOL the typical sterotype bad Russian guy.
oh, I should mention that I'm Polish-Ukrainian & my DH is Russian (so I won't sound so offensive? LOL)
I mean she has the most thickest accent. & I for one don't think Polish, Ukrainian or Russian is the most romantic sounding accent.
It was like this set was imported straight from Russia? & they look so serious. the translating is funny too. so strict, not very yoga.
I will say that I have to admit, I quite liked the workout. she gave lots of information on what the poses were doing & why to do them.
& it was a good basic intermediate level yoga session. I'm actually looking forward to the rest of the set.
all 3 of the instructors are extremely attractive to look at, which shouldn't matter, I know. but, it sure didn't hurt.
oh & one last thing, the music was very strange for a yoga dvd. almost this techno-euro sound. I'm still laughing from it, I got such a kick out of it. can't wait to show DH, he'll get a good laugh out of it.
it was dirt cheap for the set. beautifully packaged also. I got the set for alittle over $50. 6 dvds for that price is good, I think. especially if I like all 6.
4 are running times of 45 minutes & are supposedly progressing into a tougher & different session & one is 20 minutes of a yoga/dance/cardio as an add on or for shorter session when needed. the other is a 30 minute-10 minute focused session dvd. it was cool. so surprised. there was only 1 review at amazon & it didn't mention anything like what I have been explaining.
If you can get past the thick accent & the instructor's looking like their not having a good time (LOL). I could see some not liking this set. the way it is packaged I think some will be rather shocked? but, I'm thinking they will probably enjoy it too, once they get "into" the workout.
as for telemarketing...I try & be nice to these people knowing that they have a crummy job & their trying to make a living. but, when I say no thank you the first time, I mean it!? & when they start getting rude....I lose my patience.
we just signed up for this new system that came into effect last fall, where Canada has regulated that if you put your phone # on this "no call" list. they can be fined if they call. so far it's worked.
the door to door stuff isn't so bad with Cheemo.
he goes bananas at the door, so I can only crack it open & say no thank you & whoevers there basically wants to get the heck away from my doorstep because of the dog going hysterical. alittle saviour he his. lovely little ankle-biter.
better do something else around here?! get my act together.

Hi Lori:
Should I mention that I am Polish-Irish, my grandmother was actually born in the US during a trip from Poland, She had the Polish accent until she died.
Oh I married and Italian off the boat. Really that's how his family came to the US.
Lori you would hate my hair I can wear it either way curly or straight, straight takes a while. I have fine hair but it takes a while to dry if I am doing it straight.
As for telemarketing we don't get many calls if any we got the out of area calls blocked.
Saundra now we have the Fios people coming to the door they are all over the place.
Saundra do you keep track of your points or do you just eat your meals with a couple of snacks.
This week I have been just eating the meals with a couple of snacks, it seems to be working for me. Sometimes I get frustrated with the points I would think I would be doing o.k. and then not have any points left in the day and I didn't have dinner yet.

Lori do you speak any other languages? I think it is good that Cheemo can warn off unwanted visistors. The guy who came to my door the other day sounded surprise when I told him no thank you. First of all the price is only going to be cheaper for a limited amount of time. And it is a hassle switching everything around.
Diane, I do count my points. I write them down like a checkbook. If I don't write them down, sometime I forget what I ate. Tuesday I left 9 pts over. I always try to eat my points even when I am not hungry. Just so I can have energy and fuel to get through my workouts. Sometimes I feel sluggish when working out.

Hi y'all,
Yesterday according to 90 days was a rest day, but I did today 2 more segaments of More 5 Day Abs. Tough Tape 2 and Max Cardio with Clarissa. She is so graceful.
The only thing about cardio, I tend to eat more, so I try and eat healthier. So I had fruit and salad for lunch while watching Desperate Housewives of Orange County this morning before I had my nap.
When I feel sluggish I add vitamin b,c,d, for energy. I can feel that slump comin' on. I even slept to 6:30 this morning. And went to bed at 9:30ish last night.
I need to get a hair cut but my sister suggested a relaxer with olive oil in it. So I am going to do that tomorrow. My hair on the sides have come out and the top of my head in the crown is horrible. My hair at one time was dark but has lightened up some because of the relaxer.
My mother's family is from Union, SC and my dad's family is from Miami. They are mostly Nassau. I have both Cherokee and Seminole as well as being African American/Black. Perhaps a little bit of the Scots-Irish influence as well. My parents met in Washington, DC. Dave's family is from the west coast. He was originally born in Napa Valley, CA and later moved to Oregon. His grandparents were German. Dave's real dad I think was Dutch. We met in church. That part in church, when they say give a sign of peace. That should be taken out! :)
I try and be nice to telemarkers and just say no. Sometimes when they ask for Mrs. Slack, I say she is not here. Everyone who knows me, knows I go by last name.
Oh well, Friday is here! Almost, so whatcha planning for this weekend.
Diane, I hope your husband's doctor's appt. turns out okay. I'll keep him in my prayers and send good vibes. Men are so stubburn sometimes.

Hi ladies:
I also get sluggish during the day when I workout, Annette does taking the vitamins help I was think of taking D.
I have other nationalities mixed in also but it made to long of a list.
I used to relax my sister's hair when she was younger, now she just goes with the flow.
My hubby did go to his appoinment, he has to go to another doctor of course, he said he will call tomarrow.
Annette your to funny I do the same thing when I get calls on my cell phone,
they really annoy me when they won't tell me where there from, then it's a hang up.
Saundra I rarely have any points left except maybe yesterday I just didn't have time to eat. Do you use the activity points?
Lori how was your day? hubby stay at work today?
Today I am checking in with Cathe 4-day split 2 of the weight segments.

hey gang. you all were busy again today.
ya, DH stayed all day at work today. he took tomorrow off though. used one of his holiday days. I've got a few errands to do, he can stay home with the dog. LOL
forecast for snow Sat & Sun.:( thought that was done with? hope their wrong.
Saundra, I don't speak a whole lot of Polish or Ukrainian. I know some Russian from DH & his family. I'm embarrassed to admit, I know all of the swear words or the not so nice stuff. LOL
just stuff from when my grandma would talk to us kids & try & teach us the basics or when my dad would get mad at us & frustrated. then the Ukrainian would come out.
how about you?
my crockpot supper was not great again. I packed the sucker up to take to the Salvation Army tomorrow. just not working for me. I give up on crockpots.
I cut my finger really bad today, if you can believe it on a fallen down, broken branch on the bloody sidewalk, when I took Cheemo for a walk today!
he was after some chewed up Danish & I went to cover it up (because I knew he'd be after it, on our way back) with this pine tree branch & the wood sliced my finger!?
It bled like the dickens!? & is so sore now. especially when it gets wet.
Friday already? this week went by fast.
Clarissa, I love her. she is so elegant. ballerina-like.
Saundra, I could loan Cheemo out to you. I'm not kidding when I say he's a saleman's deterent. If I could video tape it, you'd believe it.
he is like a beracuda at the door. they can't get away fast enough. I just crack the door open alittle & do the roll the eyes bit toward the dog, with my foot holding Cheemo back & they get the picture.
he's barking, snarling & they have to raise their voice & it's just not worth it to them? LOL
that funny YogaPulse dvd worked my b.utt. my glutes have been sore since suppertime.
Annette, so that's where you & Dave met! in church! I wondered how & where you 2 hooked up. but where, in Oregon?
Saundra, got your STS's penciled in?
Annette, I don't know how you can workout like that? you sluggish? give me a break?! LOL no wonder your tired. Tough Tape 2 & Max Cardio & a couple segments from 5 Day Abs? are you trying out for the 2010 Olympics??
you do know what a rest day is, don't cha?:p
I'll talk to you all tomorrow. sweet dreams.

Diane, yes I do use the Activity points. I try to earn 3 to 4 a day except on my rest day which is Saturday. Usually I save my 35 Weekly Allowance points to use on that day, so I don't need the extra AP points.
Do you carry mini snacks with you? I started doing that. WW has two snack bars that I like. One is the mini peanut ****er chocolate and the other is the regular chocolate chocolate bar. I think both are quite tasty.
The hardest part for me is eating on a regular schedule. I have been trying to do the eating every 2 to 3 hours but sometimes that is difficult.
Lori, sorry about your finger. I know it hurt like crazy. I slice my thumb open a few years back and it wouldn't stop bleeding so I had to go in and get it sutured (sp?) I still have the mark from it.
I speak no other languages but English. I did take a couple years of French and Spanish in high school. When I lived in Florida, I was trying to learn Spanish because it so prevalent there. Sometimes people there will speak Spanish to you before they will speak English.
Annette, I do take Vitamns. I get my Vitamins from HSN. I am glad Friday is here. And hopefully I will have my weekend to myself.
Checking in with 2 miles on the treadmill.

Good Morning, good morning!
my finger is soooo sore. Saundra, years & years ago, this same finger (flippin' the bird finger) has a very b.ig scar across it. DH said I needed stiches, but I was too chicken to go. without grossing everyone out, all the guts in the finger were falling out with tremendous amounts of blood.
looking back, I went through days of agony (I really should have gone & got stiches). I'm lucky it didn't get an infection.
when it comes to needles, I'm so scared.
I had to get a blood test a couple years back & I fainted. never fainted in my life before. LOL
worked myself up into a frenzy days before thinking about it.
so humilating. but, the nurse said, that men usually faint alot more often than the women. LOL
hope your wishes are met again on your weigh-in tomorrow Saundra. & Annette's saying, "weights crossed" that you DO get to enjoy your whole weekend off for a change.
living in Canada, & French Canadian on everything. everything has both English & French. it's the law.
when we went to school back in the day, French classes were mandatory. I don't think it is anymore? not sure, now that you mentioned it.
but, it does confuse alot of the tourists here.
on the west coast, nobody speaks French here?
when you work such unregular hours, it's so hard to eat properly. kudos to you Saundra, for doing your best at your WW nutrition. keep it up, it's working for you.
when Annette sees you in April, she won't recognize you! (oh, Annette will be just too overjoyed with those tallsteps, she won't be paying attention to anything else! LOL)
treadmill you say? that's where I'm heading.
Diane & Annette, have a nice weekend, also.

Hi y'all,
just a quick hello! Dave and I met in a Catholic church in Irmo. But we had many of the same friends in common but never met. We went out with a bunch of friends after confession one night. I should have known better!! Both of the children were baptized in the same church.
Lori, I leave you for one day and look at ya. Seriously I hope you feel better.
Diane, is the 2nd doctor for a specialist and/or to run test. I hope they turn out okay.
Saundra I try to eat every 2-3 hours, but lately is drinking my c'berry juice and then o.j. I have a lunch at 10:30 or so, because I am up so early. Then I'll have a snack driving in from work. Or when I come in and then workout. Dinner is usually around 7:00 or so, because Andrew has to get his play time in. BOYS
Didn't workout today, glad y'all did for me :D Andrew and Dave are going to USC basketball game tomorrow w/Dave's boss and co-workers. So it is just us girls tomorrow night. I'll be able to get some serious workout time in tomorrow.
And, I have already scoped out one garage sale for tomorrow :D I might go.
Oh, y'all will be so proud of me, I finally hooked up the vhs to tv and it works!
Y'all have a great night!

Hi Ladies:
Not much going on today.
Annette my husband Natalino Nat for short has an appointment on Tuesday with the doctor who will do the actual precedure. He seems to be getting his appointments pretty quick.
Lori when I cut my finger a while back it still bothers me especially the other day digging through the snow it took me a couple of hours before it felt better.
What a bummer about the crockpot I usually have not problem, when I first started using it I did I made spare ribs and they came out pretty gross guess who never ate spare ribs again.
Saundra I always have good intentions to plan out my day, but sometimes that doesn't always work, I either will leave too much time in between meals and I am starving or I will eat something like certain frozen dinners that are just not satisfying I have been trying to add veggies to them, that works sometimes.
Not much of a workout today just walking with the dog I did pick up the pase
my walk is getting done quicker I am going to have to add more distance on.
the dog is walking faster also.

Good morning:
I am a little annoyed this morning the Protein bars that I like are being recalled, of course for some reason I didn't think about it when I have been eating them all week. For some reason this morning I am thinking these are peanutb.utter and what do you know they are being recalled. I ordered them from Drug store.com and they were easy they gave me a refund and I just had to throw them out.
Saundra is there a problem with the peanutb.utter pt bars from WW? not that I have any left I ate those also without checking
Lori did it snow this morning yesterday was actually a nice day here and some of the snow melted today is a different story.

hey Diane, no the snow forecasted was nixed. still sunny. still have about 3 feet of snow around to melt. it's melting so slowly. it's still really cold at night.
we might get snow with mixed rain on Tuesday now.
seems like there is recall after recall now?! we never used to get all these recalls years back? spinach, pet food, tomatoes, listeria, peanut b.utter.....one thing after another?! you'd think with today's technology, standards would be better?
Diane, does your DH have to have a hernia operation? my BIL had one a few years back. he bounced back really quickly & felt so much better after having it done, then all the agony he went through before the operation.

Diane, my BIL's job is making marble countertops & fireplace mantles. so his job is very strenuous (I imagine much like your DH).
but, I think your DH will happy to know, my BIL was back after 2 weeks. he took a month off, but, he didn't need it. he felt he could have even gone back to work after the first week, but, decided to take another week. then the kids drove him back to work. LOL
he couldn't drive though for a week & that drove him nuts.
he wished he went & did it all sooner too.

Good evening ladies.
Diane, I haven't killed over yet so I am assuming my peanut b.utter snacks are okay. And I have been eating a lot of them lately.
My boss woke me up at 530am this morining asking me if I could go into work to check a system but the person who is suppose to be on call wasn't answering the page. So I get up and take a shower and as I was finish getting dress, he said Shawn, the guy had finally responded. They had been trying to get a hold of him since 1130pm the previous night.
Weigh in this morning with a 1.6lb weight loss. I was a bit bummed that it wasn't more but that number more closely resembles what weight loss should be.
It probably doesn't help that I had Olive Garden.
Back on track tomorrow.
I still need to plan next week's workout. I am thinkging of doing the original Fitprimes or maybe the Sept/Dec FIRM releases or maybe Cathe's 4 day split.
Don't know yet.
I hope everyone is having a good day.

Hi Saundra:
Drug store.com already sent me an e-mail for a credit of the recalled items.
I ate 2 or 3 bars during the week and felt fine also. I guess seeing the recall in print kind of got me nervous.
A loss is still nice no matter how much it is, Your loss would have actually been a good week for me.
so did you do any today since you didn't have to go to work?

Hi y'all,
Diane you are up late or am I? LOL I piddled all day and didn't get out of my robe until about 1:00 this afternoon. The boys just got home about an hour or so from the USC basketball game. They are thumping and bumping into something or another. Andrew is so unorganized!
I found that the boxes of Activa peanut bars have not been re-called or they are at least at Walgreens 2/$6.00. I got 2 more boxes today. Got peanut M&M's. :D
Diane, I hope Nat feels better soon.
Saundra congratulations on your weight loss. You must be sending me your pounds. I have lost a thing! I was even bloated today.
Lori, what yoga did you today. I still haven't done Yogalites with Jonthan or tried ***gest Loser yet. Hopefully I can get in on Sunday,
Tonight, I did Firm, Upper Body from Classics, Not So Tough and Crunch Time all from the Classics and added one segament of M5DA and one segament from 5DA. I think I am done, so I am stickin' a fork in it and going to bed. Y'all have a great night!

January 25th, 2009, 01:47 AM
Annette, I did All The Right Moves: the arms/abs dvd & then the amazing legs dvd. (their both around 30 min) before that I ran 2.5 miles on the treadmill.
I still have 2 more dvds from that set to do.
when I finish all these yoga dvds, I'm gonna send you all picture of my yoga collection.
I'm still plugging along with them. I still have at least 5 more weeks (around that). I want to make sure they all play properly.
I'm really happy with my flexibility now. I really notice the difference from when I first began.
my strength too. which surprised me. especially with those yogi pushups. hooray.
Saundra, that is fantastic with the weightloss. are you kidding!? I'm surprised you lost that much again in a week!
you should be very happy.
you lost so much in those first 2 weigh-ins. I thought you might plateau this week, with no weight loss. but, you did! good for you.
you've done so well in just 3 weeks.
now wasn't that nice to be called back to say forget it, you don't need to come into work!?!?!....thanks alot 2!X%#!?^*
I'm fighting with this 2.5lbs I gained. too many pints of icecream there last week. can't shake them. my bodyfat % is down, but, I want my weight numbers down too. have to buckle up my mouth this week too. it's so easy to gain, huh? not so easy now to get it off.
you'd think 2 or 3 lbs would be easy to get rid of. not so.
when I was young, no problem. it's so frustrating when the scale hasn't moved.
catch you all later, enjoy your Sunday.

I have had a lazy couple of days. Been enjoying them like crazy. Not looking forward to the upcoming work week. I will be working 10 hours days. I don't know why I agreed to that.
Thanks for the encouragement.
Didn't get up until noon time today. One reason I stayed in bed because I hadn't made up my mind which workout to do. I had put From the Ground UP in the DVD player but took it out.
I decided on Body Sculpt Blaster and then I followed that up with Quick Fix Total Kicks.
Going to go crawl back in my bed now and watch the Australian Open.

I think I am starting to get cabin fever I am tired a being inside all of the time. Usually at least once or twice I can clean the car out during the winter just top get that stale smell out but so far it's not happening this year.
Saundra did I ever ask do you get the WW monthly pass?

Hi y'all,
Saundra, please do take care and pace your self. I don't blame you a bit for being lazy! I did take catnap today! I hope your co-worker on call, gets organized. Sorry that had to happen.
Lori, yoga does give flexiability and strength. I need to get back into yoga, haven't done it for awhile.
Diane, I have a bad habit of phathom eating. Sometimes I do catch myself and make myself eat a decent meal. When I am at home, I dislike using dishes :D
I today Lower Body from the Classics, those hover squats at the end with Jayne, didn't kill me that bad today. I ate dinner and took a power nap. Then finished with Power Cardio with Dale. Those ski jumps get me everytime!
This is the 4th week of the 90 Day rotation. Where did the weeks go?!
Y'all have a great week!

Diane, I soooo know how you feel. I hate the feeling of being trapped anyhow.
this winter sucked b.igtime.
it is so cold here this morning.
I wish it was summer. or at least spring. I keep telling myself, the days are getting longer. sunset is now at 5:00pm...it's getting better?
hang in there.
the walking outside here is better, because there is finally clearing to walk. I'm blaming my extra hungriness on the snow too! LOL all that snow shovelling & being out in the cold made me want more calories?!
gosh darn it!! that scale never moved again this morning. man o' man. I hate that!?
STS, will you arrive on Saundra's doorstep soon?
today my plan is to run for 50 minutes then do ATRM (All The Right Moves) Low Rise dvd. that Grace Lazenby reminds me of Sharon Stone. she looks & acts alot like her. she has the worse form. I can't believe how bad sometimes? my gosh! it's terrible. but, I still really, really love the set.
I'll check in later, see what you are all up to?
Lori
January 26th, 2009, 02:42 AM
instead of going on the treadmill, I finished the ATRM set. did back to back Fast Fusion & Low Rise. feel incredibly sore on my inner & outer thighs. that wall stuff she does is killer!
awesome set, a definite 2 thumbs up!

Diane, I did get the monthly pass. Basically I am committing to WW for all of 2009. When I did that for 2006, I saw really great results.
Annette time is flying. Saturday was my 5th week at WW. I couldn't believe it.
Lori, I have yet to go to the Cathe site and I haven't received an email - so don't know the state of STS. I decided to the program when Cathe does it and I don't think she will be starting on Sunday so I will have to come up with something to do for a few more weeks.
Checking in with 2 miles on the treadmill.

I have 8 pre-pay passes left I was thinking of switching to the monthly pass.
It's supposed to snow again on Wednesday so I am going to miss the meeting again. Saturday is out my niece and nephew will be staying over until Monday.
I didn't get any e-mail for STS either.
I made the Vegetable soup today in my crockpot I am hoping it lasts a couple of days so I will get my veggies in.
Annette eating on real plates was part of a WW topic one week, now every time I think of grabbing a quick dinner I always put it on a plate no matter what it is.
how did the garage sale go?
Lori I haven't used my treadmill since before Christmas I guess I am enjoying walking outside better. I will probably use it this week my sister's dog is going to the kennal while they are away, I don't like walking by myself even though I just walk with the dog she keeps me company.
Now you got me thinking of if I am spelling words right.
Today was Functional Foundation Core Cardio

Diane, I need to do that workout. I added that and Core Strength into the rotation in December but then switch them out for the new FIRMs I think.
I actually went and sat through Saturday's meeting and it was okay. The first couple of time I wasn't feeling the leader or the group, but this past Saturday I didn't mind so much.
I actually found out that they make 100 Calaroke Snack Whole Natural Almonds. While I don't like othe types of nuts/peanuts - I do like Almonds. I went and bought 3 boxes for $3.49 each at my local grocery store. It made me remember that you can get some good tips from the meetings.
I am tired and ready to go home already. I don't even feel like working on the project I a suppose to be working up. My bosses are trying to get me to come in even earlier than the two hours I am coming in now. I said no.
I am actually going to leave 15 minutes early. I took the train in and the last train leaves at 1030pm. I don't want to miss or even have to rush to catch it.
I did go to the Cathe site and STS has arrive and they are busy packing. That was the latest email.
One day I will try my crockpot. I just bought a Wok, which I didn't need. I tried it out last night to make sure it worked. It's electric.

Hi y'all,
What a day I had! I awoke with tummy upset. I had great news today about a friend. But as I was drivin' into work, I had a flat. Luckly it wasn't too far from where Dave works. He wasn't too excited about the 3rd tire he has had to purchase in the last month or so. I don't remember running over anything or potholes hitting my tire. It looks like someone took a knife to it.
Dave made meat loaf the other day, so it was spaghetti night. Still had sauce leftover, it might be either chili or taco. Stretchin' that meatloaf that is for sure!
Saundra do you have mace with you? I don't blame you for not stayin any longer than you have to! Dave is flyin' out tomorrow to Tulsa be back Thursday. I can get a reallllly nice and long workouts for the next few days. I excited!
I haven't tried ATRM, Lori but I have seen the clips. I went on line to our library today, to look for one book, John Grisham's newest, and eneded up reserving a bunch of football books but they did have Shred, Jackie Warner, 500 Calorie, 1/2 hour. Of course, I had to get those from the library.
I did notice that Cathe's STS were being shipped. Can't wait for you try them. :0) I have a stove top wok. I think I use once a year, even if that. Dave is the new receipe new gadget person! I prefer to cook with my cast iron skillet, when I am not bonking Dave over the head with it. Just kidding of course! There are times though....
Diane I enjoy walking except for the fact we don't have sidewalks in our neighborhood. I am trying really hard this week to eat pretty decent. I read that article from Chalean that when lifting weights, water retention is normal. I hate that because I ended up doing a cleanse because I am so bloated.
Anyway, worked late because of tire situation. Katie had interview for confirmation which ran late, so I was able to workout! YES! Did 5 Day abs, I love it when Tracey says, "I'll see you tomorrow." Then I did Maximum Body Sculpting with Tracie L. I lifted pretty heavy today. I was inspired by listening to Gayle King stating she lifted 15lbs for legs.
Y'all have a great night!

Annette;
My sister's neighborhood doesn't have sidewalks either but there really isn't many cars usually they move around us.
Oh what we could do with a frying pan.
I have the gadets also the one I use alot is the George Forman grill others just collect dust.
It used to drive me nuts when I did a weight workout and then get weighed I would always have a gain until I realized it was from weight lifting after that I didn't let it bother me.
Was it 15 pound ankle weights? My legs would turn into tree trunks.
Saundra I just got the same e-mail now lets see who gets it first.
I usually stick with the same leader, I don't feel comfortable going to the other meetings. She does the meetings on Wednesday and Saturday so I try to stick to those days.
I have trouble with nuts I don't digest them well plus I have trouble stopping at the right serving size. I am working on it though. Today I was really trying to stick to portion size and measuring even the peanut ****er, I think I did a lot of guesstimating.
Saundra I haven't done Core Cardio for a long time I actually skipped the part with the dips and lifting yourself off the step I just did normal situps, My arms were not up to carrying my weight.
I am off to the dentist tomarrow just for a check up and cleaning.

I don't have mace Annette. I don't think I would be able to get it in the bldg that I work in.
Lori, it is snowing here in Maryland. I am not complaining too loudly because I think it is the first snow we really have had this season.
Diane, measurinig is good. When I really want to buckle down that's what I do. I even have the WW measuring set. That why I like the 100 calorie packs because you know what you are eating. Although they do tend to be more expensive to purchase.

I will be shoveling tomarrow after the sleigh riding of course.
My dentist appointment went well I have to go back on Tuesday to get some fillings fixed. One chipped and the other wore down, when I got a crown last year I had trouble with it and would grind my teeth together call a filling I had to ware down.
On Wednesday is my husband appointment, I already told my sister I am not available that day I have to drive my husband in at 6:30. Lori do you remember how long it took? Apparently they don't give you a time when they are going to take you, I guess they have so many to be done and when they get to they get to you. So I told my husband I will bring a bunch of books. I will probably have to bring breakfast and lunch to.
Saundra how do you like the measuring set? I have a coupon for it and was thinking of getting it. I will have to change my meeting to Saturday for the next couple of weeks, with the snow tomarrow and my husband appointment next Wednesday I am going to miss another 2 weeks if I don't change my day.
Do you have the WW scale I love the thing I like putting the food on the scale and know exactly how many points my food is.
Do you have to shovel the snow?

Hi y'all,
Just a quick hello!
Diane, sending prayers and vibes your way for Nat. Glad you had a great dentist appt. I do love my Geo Foreman grill. We are having breakfast for dinner. I know it is late, but I couldn't get motivated to workout until this afternoon.
Lori, Dave is in Tulsa, OK, he said is snow and ice out there. They had a delay in ATL.
Saundra, I did notice snow and ice all around SC and a front moving through. It was in the 40's here but therometer read 67, which I think was wrong, it is in the sun.
Lori, hugs for y'all as well. Sorry to hear about the plant being shut down. It is scarey.
The peanut ****er scare bad plant management. AJC I think I had an article this morning or either yesterday about the plant. And now corn syrup and high fructose has mercury. I have to check labels more carefully. Usually if corn syrup or hfcs is near the end of ingredients, I didn't mind it.
I did have a killer workout today. I did 5 Day Abs, ***gest Loser Yoga the first level. Which about did me in. Lower Body Split, the one that is 67 minutes long and finished with The Hare. I love when I can get long workouts in. I feel so accomplished!

boy when you workout you workout don't you. How many days a week do you workout like that?
Saundra I am supposed to receive STS tomarrow.
Lori what are you going to do with your hubby around? Does he have things to do around the house? cute picture of Chemo.
Nat has been home fixting the apartment downstairs even though he is busy doing things, it gets annoying having him around not that he bugs me but he watches TV and I like using the TV in the living room to workout and he comes up to use the bathroom because it took the one downstairs apart.
I hope things start getting better this economy is scary.

I laughed my head off with Annette's reply to my picture of Cheemo. she is so quick! I swear that girl could write punch lines for the comedians or do stand up comedy herself.
the girl runs herself ragged everyday!
anyway, she said, "how much is that doggie in the window". so funny, she is!
Annette, I think if I did ever get to meet you in person, you'd have me in stiches all the time. I'm sure you'd make me pee my pants. LOL
I saw the east is getting hit really hard with bad weather. yuk.
we finally got our roads cleared & we're able to basically "get around" again, then we get another batch of snow. luckily it was only about 8 cm & now it's warmer & melting. our usual west coast kind of snow. I sure hope it's the last of it.
Diane, DH will drive me nuts. he does when we are on holidays. LOL he get's bored very easily. but, I will do my best to be my nicest. put myself in his shoes.
he does have a few things he wanted to fix around the house. a gate & some window sills are needing replacing.
fortunately we have 2 bathrooms. LOL
he doesn't bother me when I workout. he's been yelled at many a times before. (I DO NOT like someone (him especially) watching me workout!!!!) he's done the comments of, "how come they are doing this? & your doing that? kind of comments. LOL "they can go higher than you")
I'm sure he'll drive me nuts. told you all before, when he retires, one of us will be murdered. kidding of course?
Annette, is crazy. she really does train like an Olympian! seriously.
I wish I had that kind of energy. Annette, you must have been a handful when you were a kid!?
Monday & Tuesday I didn't run. I just didn't have it in me again.
I have a real love-hate relationship with that running.
repeating myself here once again, but, running burns me out so fast. I seem to hit a wall & need to listen to my body, to give it a break from too much running?
Annette's comment the other day about when she did too much cardio, made her alot more hungrier. really stuck in my head. I think all that running makes me eat more calories.
anyhow, I'm only 1 lb away from my goal weight again...& that's without the running.
I seem to all of a sudden feel the urge to run eventually, & go like a crazed hamster, till I can't 'takes' it no more!
Diane, are you going to start the STS along with Saundra & Cathe, also? Sunday, I think Saundra said?
now me & Annette know what you & Saundra will be doing for the next 6 months!?
one thing you can all look forward to next week, I won't be posting as much. DH will be hogging the computer playing poker.
Diane, won't be around today, I'm guessing. with her DH in the hospital? maybe she brought her laptop, to keep herself amused? I'm sure everything will go alright with your DH. hope the roads were not bad for you to drive him to the hospital, Diane.
Annette, corn syrup is just about in everything now! unbelievable. it's in stuff you wouldn't even think it would be in. pretty hard nowadays to avoid.
makes you wonder, what are we eating? hmmm. when you think about it, all the junk we eat is full of chemicals & it tastes so good. we've become addicted to junk. wonder why it tastes so good? LOL
Annette, I read that the B.iggest Loser yoga dvd first level was tough.
Saundra, you look after yourself. don't get run down from working all those hours. hoping, your commute to work isn't horrible also.
you all be careful driving on those roads, especially this time of year.
have any of you tried any of Ana Brett & Ravi Singh's dvds? if yes, what did you think of them?

I had to shovel ice this morning. Yuck. It took almost 45 minutes to get my car dethawed. I hate winter weather.
Diane I should receive my STS today. However, the inclement weather may prevent delivery. I was practically ice skating outside.
I have the old black measuring serving spoons. They come in 1 cup, 1/2 cup and one other size that I forget now. I like them.
I do have the WW scale, not the current one. They have a new model, but I do like the one I have.
Lori, I had already decided that I wasn't going in early today. Then when it ice up last night, I knew I wasn't going in early. I might even actually be late today.
Annette, thanks for the heads up about the corn syrup although I don't think I have any in my cupboard.
Okay I am off to check the train schedules. See how far behind they are.
Oh Checking in with 2 miles on the treadmill.

poor Saundra. I thought you might have trouble today with the weather. yep, winter sucks. Ice is worse than snow. be careful out there!
I just did the first of another 6 pack dvd set called Yogalates by Louise Solomon.
I really, really liked it. it felt almost like a muscle massage on my upper body. (I needed it from the shovelling yesterday?).
this set has really long running times. IMO 2 are 71 & 76 minutes long, & the other 4 dvds are 90 minutes.
they are from Australia. so far so good. very relaxing. oh, & they use bands.
how exciting that your STS's are arriving soon. what fun.

Hi Lori,
I called off work today. Many of the trains were either cancelled or delayed and I didn't feel like driving down to work today. The roads aren't that bad right now but they may be when it is time for me to come home.
So I am going to try to use the time to clean my house. Which really needs it.
It sounds like you really like Yogalates and that is good. The times do seem long to me but then anything over 60 minutes is long to me.
Off to clean.

January 28th, 2009, 06:47 AM
you probably did the right thing Saundra. (staying home) when we had that deep freeze of weather a couple of weeks ago, remember I mentioned our trains were having such trouble.
they couldn't keep the ice off the tracks & it was a nightmare for commuters trying to get home.
you deserve to stay home.
the Yogalates today was the 71 min..I thought I would be clock watching, but it actually went by fairly quickly. she does alot, & it wasn't boring. yesterday's Shiva Rea was the same time, but, I found it dull at times. thought it shoulda', coulda been shorter.
just got back with Cheemo's walk. it's actually nice here. sunny with cloudy periods. our normal weather. maybe your winter stint will end soon. I know exactly how your feeling. just get so tired of the turmoil that winter always brings.
happy cleaning (ya, right) did the STS's arrive today?

I have STS. I might actually attempt the 1rm. Cathe states she is going to try to wait until most people have the program before she starts.
So I may just go ahead and start Sunday.
Starting to preview the disk.

Hi Lori:
My hubby operation is actually next Wednesday. Boy I am tired today the snow was really heavy this time to shovel.
My STS was out for delivery today but I didn't receive it's just about 7:00 I doubt I will get it. the weather was not so nice today.
Lori you are right about shoveling that snow I shovel twice today and it felt like I wanted to eat all day.
I probably won't follow STS with Cathe and Saundra
Saundra I had the older point scale but I just couldn't see the display to well unless I had all lights on. I didn't even move my car out of the garage, I am worried about tomarrow getting out of the driveway it is supposed to get colder over night.
Treadmill for me today with some ab work and a stretching workout.
The kiddies are staying over for the next 5 days so getting on the computer might be hard.

Diane, that is annoying. Do you think they delivered it to the wrong address? I would be so ticked at having to track it down, but I would definately be calling UPS today. They could probably contact the driver and figure out what happened.
I was actually at home yesterday when the UPS man dropped off my package. It was a different guy this time. I shop online alot so I normally get alot of UPS packages. Usually they always deliver in my area between 2pm and 4pm. Is that the same for your area?
I have been previewing the system and I am slightly annoyed that we are still waiting for the cardio suggestions to be posted. I have asked about cardio options forever. Cathe said that the STS + Cardio should be posted in the next couple of days.
Other than that I am looking forward to getting started.
Yesterday I did quite a few of the 1rm testing. Did all of the 5 and 4 star and mostof the 3 star. Don't think I will bother with the 2 and 1 star exercise.
So checking in with that and 20 minutes on the treadmill.
It is a much better day here weather wise than yesterday. In fact it is gorgeous outside. Lori, Cheemo would love it.

I was home so there was no issue with that I think they just delivered to the wrong address. It couldn't have been the regular driver for my route usually there is no problem.
The sun is out to but there is a lot of ice to deal with.
I guess I will just have to call ups I am expecting another package today from omaha steaks its out for delivery.

Diane, that is good news. At least you know someone else doesn't have it.
I just ordered a box of Kansas City Steaks from QVC. They arrive yesterday and they came already pre-cut in a 4oz size. I tried them yesterday and was very please.
I was hesistant because I couldn't find the Nutrition informatin online but it looks like it is a good purchase. Each steak (4oz isn't very ***) is 160 calories, 8 grams of fat and 0 fiber. That clocks in at 4pt per steak. The steak tasted pretty good as well.
Also I have two WW food scales. Actually I think I gave one away. But the first one came with a bowl. The second one didn't come with a bowl but it had more options. They have a newer model even than the one I got that is suppose to have a ***ger database and therefore stores more food options. But, I am happy with the one I got.
Here is hoping that STS arrives today.

Hi Saundra:
My regular Ups guy was back today, I think he had to correct alot of mistakes from yesterday. I think the lady on the phone didn't want to tell my my package was delivered to the wrong house.
Anyway I got my STS today I didn't preview anything yet but it is a lot of dvd's
I had the both of those scales also I still use the bowl from the first one. I do like the wider base of the new one though. I even use my scale for the mail when I am not sure how much postage I should put on a larger envelope.
Today was a day off except trying to get rid of the ice in the driveway I swear I was out there over an hour trying to scrap the ice.

Hi y'all,
It was beautiful here today, I think it got into the late 50's early 60's. I had sunroof window open but not the sunroof itself. A little too chilly.
Glad y'all got the STS, let me know how you like.
I do have Yogaliates with Jonathan Ur, haven't tried it yet.
Dave can drive me crazy sometimes when he is home. I can only sleep when he sleeps. I wish he would do another project at home to keep him busy, but his company is launching a major project in Tulsa. It was cold there, that is for sure.
I did get the new John Grisham book, of course it is for Dave for Valentine's Day. But I always read John before I give it to him. LOL I also got a large chocolate bar that was on sale at Kmart. Regular 3.00 for .80. I got 2.
Didn't get a chance to workout yesterday, but today I made up for it. I did Upper Body Sculpt, Firm Cardio w/Heidi and The Hare. I got through my errands and workouts in spite of cramps, upset stomach and bloating. Does this ever end?!!!
Oh well, TGGIF=Thank Goodness Girls It's Friday or almost!

DianeDiane, what a nice thing to say:)
good that you got your STS without any problems. dealing with the post office is such a nuisance.
I did a yoga dvd called "I Love My Yoga". it was alright. an ok dvd. nothing special, yet a keeper.
weather was foggy all day. rain predicted now through on till Monday. warm though. (thank the heaven's for that) more like our typical winter weather. rain we're used to. we can handle that.
DH took a holiday day tomorrow too. so he's off for awhile.
Annette, how come your having tummy aches?
Saundra, I like it when it's been miserable outside then it turns the complete opposite. you appreciate it more. what is that testing all about on the STS? I read that at VF & couldn't figure out what the heck they are talking about?
I'm with Annette, glad it's Friday tomorrow...this seemed like a really long week for me?

Hi Ladies.
Lori without trying to get too complicated. Many of the exercises in STS encourages you to perform one is called 1rm or one rep max testing. Basically it is trying to determine the heaviest weight you can lift with good form for one rep.
Once you get that number and you have to use Cathe's calulator to determine it, then on each exercise you will lift 65%, 70% or 80% of that number. The pain of it is that each exercise has its own 1rm and you have to determine what that is for each exercise.
I hope everyone has a great weekend.
Checking in with Cathe' s 4 day split kickbox cardio only.
Saundra
Lori
January 30th, 2009, 01:26 AM
oh my! Saundra, sounds like it could get complicated. serious stuff.
thanks for explaining. kept reading about so-so did the "test" on the STS...didn't realize that it was even that technical.
seems like Cathe is really letting her followers know her "inside secrets".
you can see how hard Cathe works on her physique. it's awesome that she shares her program with her fans. & cool that she does the same rotation.
did you ever get the answer on the cardio?
figuring out what weight for each rep is going to be a pain for awhile. but, I'm sure you'll have it all figured out in no time?
I'm thinking it sounds like having Cathe there right with you, as a personal trainer almost. not just following along on a dvd, swinging around the same old 5lbs for every exercise?
good investment, good investment. sure you & Diane will be happy with the purchase.
there sure is a ton of variety, too.
Saundra, the weatherman was wrong already...this morning is another "Cheemo-Day"! LOL lots of sun.
ya, you all have a great weekend too.
Saundra, GO GET EM' AGAIN! at your weigh-in. & enjoy your 1st STS Day!:D& I wanna hear all about it.:D

No still no word on the cardio Lori. It is very irritating. I hate doing things at the last minute.
I am almost done with all the 1rm stuff. I am looking forward to doing the workouts. I previewed a couple of the disk and liked what I saw.
There was a person on the Cathe forums complaining about a lack of floor work for the legs. It is amazing how different people are and what is important to one person is not to another. Never in my mind I thought there would be a lot of floor work or any floor work in the series. Never gave it a singe thought.
Whereas the cardio, I have been asking Cathe about that since August of last year. So that topic gets me going.
Glad to hear you had a nice weather day. It was sunny here but cold and windy.
I will check back later but if not you have a pleasant evening.

Hi y'all,
Just a brief hello. Worked late today, so I didn't get a chance to workout. If it ain't one thing it is another as far as health goes. My cyst causes me major bloating and it is a constant pain, more so when it is TOM. UGGGH! Thanks for asking.
People do complain about workouts don't they without a "real" reason why. It is usually trivial like music. The clips of Cathe's legs looks killer to me. I hope you enjoy your STS series.
It was nice here, sunny but cool.
I am trying to get through "The Associate" but will read more next week, Dave is going out of town.
If y'all get cabin fever, just come on down to South Carolina. Of course, the weathermen/woman are predicting snow next week. I have to see to believe. And if it is, it better be worth closing schools.
Y'all have a great night.
Oh, yes, I forgot, I tend to "makeup" workouts when I don't workout that day. So I'll do 2, perhaps 3, but take a break. Actually I have done cardio and then crashed. Workouts make me sleepy.
Lori
January 31st, 2009, 12:53 AM
Saundra, I'm exactly the same way (I don't like this last minute info). I like to plan in advance or at least know ahead of time what my rotation will entail. especially for me cardio is important. not floor legwork!? (on that subject, it seems to be really important to alot of women?) this topic comes up often with Jari Love's series also. It seems out of date or women are stuck back in the day? to me, your working your legs enough throughout (& I'm pretty darn
sure they will be in STS) standing!
like Annette said, I can't understand their logic or complaints on this?
anyhow, asking about the cardio since August!? what gives?! what's the holdup on an answer for crying out loud!? geesh.
other than that, I can bet your looking forward to getting STS started. I am believing you will have great results rather quickly. especially with your weight loss program going so well. something new than the same old same old. will be something to look forward to each day & week will keep you interested in what's next.
Annette, are you able to have the cyst removed? is that on your ovary? I thought you were getting the stomach flu.
workouts like yours Annette, would kill me! not make me sleepy! you go on a marathon of workouts.
nothing exciting to report. got a new gate yesterday. & a new shovel. supposed to be nice sunshine here again today.
ok, I'll talk to you all later? Diane, where are you? whatcha' up to?

Hi Ladies,
Weighed in with a .6 loss. I thought it would be more because my clothes are fitting a bit looser. Anyway it is the last day of the month and I always take measurements on the last day of the month so maybe I wil see a change with that from the measurements I took on Dec 30th.
Annette the only time I complain about music is if I can't hear it. I thought the September releases of the FIRM had very bad music quality but I thought the music itself was pretty good but I couldn't hear it.
Lori, I agree I think floor work is so yesteryear. Not that I mind it. But I am liable of not getting up once I am down on the floor.
Diane, I am liking what I see with STS. I am still trying to decide which leg program to do for Mesocycle 3. Either Plyo Legs or Squat Rack legs. Decisions Decisions.

I probably won't get to see what STS is until next week.

ALRIGHT! you two! (Saundra & Diane) that's great on the weight loss. Saundra I'm proud of you! you've lost something every week! that's excellent. especially after that first two weeks of b.ig losses. I'm impressed.
you both must be happy with yourselves. keep it up.
Saundra, you made me laugh with the "liable, not to get back up off the floor" comment. LOL I know the feeling, I know the feeling.
I don't mind floor work either, but, I don't think it's all that necessary as some think it is. just my opinion. but, I do think these are the people who love Jane Fonda or that Callinetics (not sure if I spelled this right, but, you know who I mean).
sometimes when I lay in savasana/corpse pose...if it get's alittle too long....I have caught myself just about ready to dose off. LOL
well, we got our gate up. it was harder than expected. (always works that way) it ended up being narrower & our old gate posts are rotting. DH has to go back to the lumber store again tomorrow. it's up, works, but not very eye appealing.
now that's funny...I was going to ask you all if any of you belonged to Facebook, My Space or Twitter. I'm too chicken. I've heard it's easier for people to steal your identity from these sites. because you put up so much information about yourself?
I have two friends were are seriously addicted. they spend hours upon hours on theirs. I'm still gonna pass on these sites myself.
I did Liquid Asana with Micheline Berry. very different. I quite liked it. I love my yoga collection. I have noticed now this far into them, that the wide array of different yoga teachers is like going to a different yoga class. different styles, different scenery, voices, backgrounds. enjoying them. only have had a handful that didn't make the cut. been far more luckier with my yoga choices than past other fitness dvds.
the Kabbalah's did not like. bad cueing for one. plus a couple of times they would instruct you do a pose & it was something completely different on screen?! huh-what the..?
ahhh, Saundra, what a dilema...to have to decide. LOL eww...Plyo Legs & Squat Rack Legs sound both really tough?! LOL sounds to me, what's the lesser of two evils?!
Diane, that's right. I forgot about your neice & nephew. I'm sure they are keeping you real busy.
wonder what our little Annette's up to? I hope she's resting some? doubt it, very much so.
well, I should tidy the inside of my place now.

Glad you got your gate up and yes things are mostly always harder, longer and tougher than you think it should be.
Lori I am also glad to hear you have had more success and loss with your Yoga collections. Also I think I am going to do Plyo Legs. These workouts are shorter than the squat rack legs.

Lori, you have such a good memory. You will often say something about something that was said 10 or 12 post ago. Anytime I want to quote a post, I always have to go back and search and try to remember where I read it.
But anyway Good Morning to you. I am actually just getting out of bed and it is almost noon here.
First thing I did was check Cathe's forum to see if the cardio options were up and they were. So quite happy. It is amazing at what little things bring us joy. Now I am going to compare Cathe's suggestions with what I came with on my own.
I may make some changes.
My active recovery week is week 5, 10 and 15. For week 5 and 10 I am planning on doing yoga. The yoga I chose is Sara Ivanhoes stuff. Other than the 10 Minute Solution, Tracey Staehle and the FIRM she is really the only Yoga I have.
I have chosen Yoga ON the Edge, Sunrise,High Noon, and sunset - that will cover 3 days. The other days I chose Candlelight yoga, The Joy of yoga, and Fat Burning yoga.
So when I get to them, I will let you know how I like them.
Hi Annette and Diane. Annette do you watch the Super Bowl. I don't but wa wondering if you did even though you perfer college ball.

February 1st, 2009, 07:41 AM
ahh, Saundra, you are so observant. you are the observant one. LOL, I drive DH nuts with my memory. lots of arguments. the problem with a good memory sometimes, is I remember bad stuff too. LOL...then I tend to hold a grudge (not a very nice character trait) kidding (some truth to it though:eek: )
your right, & see observant...my brother & mom can't believe the stuff I can remember. weird...we all have these neat things we are capable of.
I'm like the Rainman when it comes to names & faces & for some weird reason phone numbers, house addresses. I can remember the stupidest phone numbers from work or my old home addresses? I dunno, totally useless.
but, remembering everything on my grocery list, that's another story! LOL
I'm so glad the options for cardio are up. that's is nice to know. wonder what took so long for it to go up? (& this pleases you. your so easy to please)
how exciting for you. it is going to be such a new & interesting program. I can't wait till you've started it & have done a month of it. gonna be fun. I'm sure it's going to be a whole new experience with Cathe.
as for the yoga, I really like Sara Ivanhoes newer stuff. the Joy Of Yoga &, Fatburning Yoga for some reason her voice is alittle annoying on those. she seems abit hip & youngish? Candlelight Yoga alittle too. but, still very good yoga workouts. her 20 minute yoga collection & the On The Edge, she seems more mature & more experienced or something? different to me. can't quite put my finger on it in writing. you'll see what I mean.
anyhow, I'm rambling...your body is going to really need that yoga after all that STS. I think you will be glad to have those yoga dvds!
wish you lived closer (Annette & Diane too). would be nice to lend you my dvds. share. save each other some $$$.
it snowed alot this morning. I was skidding all the way home. (from grocery shopping). I was scared. very slippery. icey. it's turned to rain now.
I'm right fed up with winter.
I was glad to make it home. I had DH's car, which has airbags. (mine doesn't) but, I still don't like the idea of smackin' his car up. LOL...even though it's technically half mine?
anyhow, obviously, I made it home. it was not a nice ride home.
I never ran at all last week. I am trying to hold off & not run all next week either.
I must sound like a broken record here, but, I just burn myself out with running. I got all fanatical again & was running & doing yoga all in one day. was turning into 90 minute workouts. too much for my old body. LOL
exercise addiction.
I read a really great book a few years back by Debra Waterhouse. Outsmarting The Female Fat Cycle. (something like that) long story short, she had a chapter in there about women who become addicted to exercise. parts hit home with me. she said to cool it sometimes. & with all this yoga, I will say it's helped me to know when to listen to my body better. & I need & know right now again, I need to back off on the running.
DH is watching the Super Bowl with his cronies. I thought of Annette too. Saundra, you beat me to the punch. I meant to ask Annette the same question.
Saundra, sleep you did! you must have needed it. did you stay up late last night?
Saundra, did you watch all the Australian Open? did you, watch the Williams sisters? Wow! I love watching those girls!
Serena was here a couple of months ago. I wanted to go watch her practice. I forgot. a couple of girls I worked with saw her. they said she was so friendly & nice. (she was here because her boyfriend was singing here, & she actually went to one of our local tennis clubs & just practiced with the public) (how cool is that?)
she was on our local news, she seems so down to earth.
& Venus, her name is just cool!!?? those girls have such awesome bodies.
I was happy for Serena, she did it again!!! poo on all her doubters!
these girls are such great role models.
Nadal & Federer were good too. LOL of the two, I didn't really care who one, but, if I had to pick I like Federer alittle more.
well, I should carry on with my laundry & the rest of housework.
Saundra, I know your probably sorting out your rotation now. planning, planning. lucky girl. envious, I am. I love it when you get new dvds & the decision making.

forgot to say..that Serena had no makeup on & didn't care at all when she talked to reporters for the longest time. (not that she needed any makeup! she was drop-dead gorgeous without it!). but, she was soooo nice, didn't act all snooty (like she could). super nice.
hope I didn't bore you with this. but, I love tennis. I'm not very good playing it. but, I still like it just the same.
can't imagine what it would be like to play with Serena or Venus. I think if I saw one of their serves coming at me, I'd run! LOL like those fast pitch balls. holy smokes!
what I wanted to know, was how come Serena's skin was flawless? no zits at all? & she's sweatin' playing tennis?
one more thing, have you tried those "dryer balls". I just got some a couple weeks ago & I really like them. they do dry the laundry faster & the clothes are less wrinkled.
our heating bill last month was literally "OVER THE ROOF"!! OUCH $$$$
Saundra, now that you slept in will you have trouble falling asleep tonight?

Lori, I love tennis. It is my third favorite sport behind gymnastics and figure skating.
And yes I did watch the Australian open. It was rather cool just about when I was getting home from work the next days action was starting so I got to see alot of it. Australia is like 15 hours ahead of us. Plus I also have the tennis channel and they were doing instant repeats.
I've have been reworking my workout schedule but didn't change much of the cardio. I actually moved Yoga to my rest days as Cathe gave this an option for Sunday or the off day. So I added in The Method Precision Yoga - forgot I had that and the two 10 minute Solution - although I really don't think I am going to like the two 10 minute solution, but I won't get to those until the last part of April beginning of May.
Sorry to hear you had such a scary ride home. Do you live very far from where you buy groceries? Today was quite warm so there was a lot of melting and all I could think about was that stuff was going to refreeze and be ice tomorrow.
My heating bill was huge as well. I keep my thermosat at 65 and still it went up $50 bucks from the previous month.

Hi y'all,
I did watch the Super Bowl with my traditional beer of course. My neighbor had hip replacement surgery and I promised him a six pack. :D I also gave them a rotesseire chicken from Krogers. They are such a great couple.
But my next door neighbor is being a pistol. Doesn't want the boys to play in the street, and she is pregant, yayayayda. Dave wrote her a nice email back. The more I think about the more it makes me upset. These boys are great boys and their parents would not trust their children on my street and vice versa. Of course they will have their moments though. What really bothers me is that she is using pregancy and being a victim and blamin' the boys. Who are now fearful of playin' outside! I can't let me "boys" be fearful. I am really thinkin' long and hard to what I need to write. Gee whiz I can't help that when we had sex, we had a bunch of boys. What does she want me to do, sex change the boys into girls?! LOL
Anyway, off the fanny lifter box and vent for today....I did workout on Saturday, since the boys went to MOnster Truck Show. And worked out on Sunday.
Dave had to re-do the thermostat. Our heating bill was expensive last month. The weather in SC is so iffy.
Kabbalah yoga isn't the best cued dvd. I agree. Haven't done much yoga and need to get back into.
My neighbor who did live across the street, who has since moved into another subdivision is now into body sculpting. She looks great. She is also Personal TRainer at Gold's Gym. If I can look 1/2 that good, I'll be good to go!
Congratulations on weight loss. Y'all really do need to send the weight y'all lost to Paris Hilton, the weight is comin' to me instead LOL! I haven't lose or gained this month.
Don't fight the corpose pose Lori, that happens to me sometimes as well. It is a signal body needs rest. Or any excuse for me to dream about Sting and Bryan Kest! LOL
Most projects take longer than expected. I am still expectin' to finish takin' my wallpaper off from the bathroom upstairs...hmmmm been a year now!
Diane I am in Irmo, about 10 miles outside of Columbia. If I had my choice, I would live in 5 Points/Shandon or Forest Acres.
OH well, I need to get motivated to get motivated! Y'all have a great day!

I'm so glad to hear from Annette. I was scared she would be stuck at Facebook & not come here anymore.
did you all hear that Anna is going to announce soon her next titles? they were yakking about it at VF. someone emailed Anna & she responded back:)
Annette, we had the same problem here a few years ago. there's always some neighbour who forgets what it was like to be a kid!? they were b.itc_ing about the kids playing street hockey on the cul-de-sac. (this would include DH, whenever he had a chance, he would be out there with the kids...his addiction his hockey) (I'm sure the neighbours thought he was another b.ig kid).
anyhow, same deal, the kids ended up being scared to be on the road & pretty much had it ruined.
I think why the heck don't these people go & live in these gated communities then?
I can see loitering around at night, but, come on! in the day?
Saundra, that Tennis channel sounds great. we don't have that available here:(
I felt sorry for Federer. you could see he wanted to cry. I choke when someone else cries.
they sure had some great rallies.
the grocery store is about a 5 or 10 minute ride, usually. with the snow, of course longer. felt like forever. when I start skidding, I panic. I've come close to some dangerous situations. so far, I've never had an accident. (someone's been looking out for me). one time coming home from work, I went completely sideways down a ramp approaching the bridge deck. for some miraculous reason, I stopped at the end of it, & for some reason at that particular moment there wasn't a car around me?
another time I did a 360 on a wide stretch of road. (obviously going too fast:rolleyes: )
nope, not fussy on winter driving. LOL
Saundra, I've been trying to lay on the couch with a blanket most of the time, to keep the heat down.
but, sometimes I have to crank it up abit.
doesn't matter how many teas I drink, I just am chilled to the bone & need a blast of heat.
I bet the heating companies are loving this cold weather.
Saundra, it sounds funny when your talking about April & May.
so are you starting STS today? or did you begin yesterday?
peeling wallpaper is not a very fun experience. that's really hard work.
ok, "LADIE'S START YOUR ENGINES!" (didn't this weekend go by too fast?)

Lori, I started STS today and have completed disc 1.
I didn't watch the award ceremony. After Rafa had won I switch to something else. I get choked up too and didn't feel like crying.
Annette, not sure about the boys thing. Do they not have yards to play in? People are always driving faster through neighborhoods than they should. I catch myself doing it as well.
Lori I have mini portable heaters. I keep one in my bedroom, one in the basement and on in the liviing room Although the one in the living room sucks but its a combo unit. Fan and a heater and the fan works pretty well.
And the weekend went by superfast.

we have 2 gas fireplaces. the one in the living room has only been used twice since we lived here.
& the one in the den we only use when the power goes out. this year we haven't used it yet.
our den is right beside/off/combined with the kitchen area, so when you use the oven, it kind of warms up the room.
the portable heaters, that's a really good idea.
I'm hoping our heating bill won't be as high. it did warm up some since the last.
Saundra, which do you like better? the summer or winter Olympics?
so you started, one down & 40 more to go?
you should have watched. it was crybaby, but, it was nice. Rafael was so good about it. he was such a gracious winner. & he hugged Federer, you could tell he was saying stuff to make him feel better about losing. & Federer even ended up being able to give a little speech. was sad, but good.
I'm off to make some Amy Grant recipe of banana bread. different than most. instead of mashed bananas it's sliced. & pecans instead of walnuts. sounds good.

Lori I have a fire place. I got it from HSN. It uses Gel Cans for the FIRE. I have only set a fire twice since I have had it and I have had it for about 2 maybe 3 years. I keep forgetting about it to be honest. It is mostly there for decorations.
4 of the STS workouts are optional. Cathe gave us two sets of leg workouts for the last Mesocycle and you are supposed to do one or the other. So only 35 workouts to go.
I was surprised at how much I liked Disc 1 because of the way Cathe does the upper body workouts - separating them into 2 to 3 parts. I like working all of the upper body at once.
I made plane reservations on Continental and now I need to change the reservation. The change fee is $150.00. The ticket only cost $197.70. That is outrageous. Sometimes I hate when I have to cut my losses.

Hi Ladies:
I was busy all weekend, I managed to get a walk in on Sunday with my niece she likes walking in the cemetery not far from my house plus its nice we don't have to worry about the traffic. She likes reading the head stones and the historical society actually started putting historical placks. One of them we read was about an explorer of the North Pole.
I am still working on the TLT's but I did start watching the STS last night my niece likes the whole set up of the dvd's she keeps going through them.
I went to the dentist today and almost croaked when she told me the price. I had a cleaning, a check up and 2 fillings that needed to be repaired $516.00 I told her I would give her half now she said that was fine thank goodness.
Annette its not the kids we have problems with its the adults playing their music until who knows when and walking down the street drunk.
Lori and Saundra do you play tennis I actually took lessons I really liked it but never followed it through.
Saundra did you preview all of the STS's dvd's?
Annette I have no clue what to do at Facebook I did sign up through your link though.
After this weekend I need a day off but I am not going to get one.
I am feeling a little nervous about my Hubby's operation, I am munching on stupid junk food because it.
I think because of all the time I have know him and been married he never had anything wrong with him.

Hi y'all,
My cyst seems to doing better. I do need to get a lat hysteromecy but can't afford to get sick and pay the bill even with insurance. I also have fibroids which causes cramping. I have already had a MEA done.
The boys are great boys and we live on a cul de sac. The boy across the street and Andrew are about 8 weeks apart. And there boys that naturally come to the cul de sac to play. And teens will roam in packs. Sometimes they do play basketball at night and skateboard. They are not loud or anything. Of course on Friday afternoons I counted 30 boys at one time and several girls. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em. So the boys just enjoy hanging out and playing sports. I can see if they were hoodlums and vandals but they are not. This is what makes me so angry about the situation. And she was a teacher, so she should know about child development! To top it off, she has a son as well!
Diane, that is fine to sign up through my link. I am nervous with you, I had Red Hot Blues before I worked out. Sending good vibes and prayers y'alls way.
Katie is not a bad tennis player but she is too lazy to sign up. Oh speakin' of which, in her aerobics class, they did Amy's 10 Minute with bands. It is time for baseball season. Gotta sign up Andrew.
Lori that banana bread receipe sounds interesting, I found one I like and I add walnuts and raisins.
Saundra, do I need to ban you from QVC and HSN like I do Lori from purchasing yoga dvds LOL Sorry to hear about the airline trouble.
Today I did Jackie Warner's workout. It was okay, high rep/low weights. I checked it out from the library. The music was Jari/Cathe/Gin and Jackie's cueing reminded me of Denise Austin. Then I did Cardio Split.
Y'all have a great night!

Good Morning Girls!
Saundra, where you going? where you going? what's the plane ticket for? how come you have to cancel?
the banana bread is very delicious! when I was making it, I had my doubts. it has no liquids? & when it said to pour it into the loaf pan, there was no chance of pouring?! it was a clump!?
& you put it in a cold oven. no preheat?
very weird, but, incredibly delicious.
it's Amy Grant's grandma's recipe, not hers. (well, I guess it's hers too)
Diane, I only play tennis occassionally here in the summer, just at a nearby public tennis court. I'm not great. just ok. but, I enjoy it.
Cheemo loves chasing the balls. when he gets one, it's hard to get them away from him. he's funny.
he can barely fit the tennis ball in his mouth. he's such a clown.
very warm here today. woke up sweaty at 4:30 am (not sure if it was a hotflash). got up alittle after 5 am. it's supposed to be around 50 today.
has been cold in the mornings, not so this morning.
I have 2 down comforters on my bed & the dog of course...was too warm. & wearing flannel p.j.'s.
Annette, your ovaries sound painful. is there any danger with you not getting the operation? that sounds terrible, that you need it, but, it's not affordable. that's not good.:(
what is a MEA?
Denise Austin cues? LOL
Diane, try & not to worry so much. it's not good for you. (easy for me to say)
I'm sure everything will be fine.
I bet your DH is worrying also. men hate going to the doctor! let alone a hospital.
he will feel so much better after it's all done. (not at first of course)
Diane, we have the drunken policeman beside us. never mind drunken walking, they all drive loaded?
Diane, seems like we are always having to fork out $ somewhere unexpectledy, huh? 1/2 the dentist bill is bad enough!
my vaccuum head croaked on Sunday & to repair it cost alittle over $60. $ that I didn't plan on spending. (at least not that way)
this week I'm planning to finish up the Yogalates series. I did Liquid Asana Volume 2 yesterday. felt very sore in my upper back, this morning.
can't think of anything else to post, so signing off for now.

Annette, I definately could do with a ban from QVC and HSN. I spend way too much money at these establishments. I like HSN slightly better than QVC because I don't have to pay taxes when I shop at HSN. I get my vitamins, shoes, and skin care from HSN. I buy my handbags, makeup, and sometims shoes from QVC. And I buy clothes from both. And of course QVC showcases the FIRM ladies.
Lori I am going Texas to visit my Mom, but now I need to go to Arkansas to see my Dad. I am trying to combine the trip into one hence the need to change the reservation.
Diane, when I was in the military I played tennis. Not very good but I still like to play and I love to watch. Hopefully I will make it to the US Open this year. I always make my dentist tell me the price of stuff before I go in especially if I know I have to pay for it. What ticks me off the quote different prices to people who have insurance and for people who don't and even when I pay for it - they will still send a claim to my insurance and then I get paper work from the insurance telling me I am responsible for something I already paid for.
Checking in today with Amy Bento ASC3 Premix 1.

Saundra:
when are you starting STS?
Lori I did our favorite pass time today shoveling snow. My son is supposed to get his car back, I know as soon as I get my Trail blazer back it's not going to snow.
School was let out early today very annoying, I put my niece on the bus drive home have, breakfast and do a couple of things and I get a phone call that school is getting out at 11:00 I wouldn't have bothered coming home what a waist of my time.
Ladies we go in at 6:30am tomarrow I am kind of glad that we will be one of the early ones hopefully.
Saundra I am trying to be prepared if I sit in the hospital all day I will bring some point bars my water a couple of books. I want to get a box of WW muffins for breakfast and some yogurt.
Did you preview all of the STS yet ? I didn't finish but one of the ones I was watching uses the stability ball against the wall, I do not have any wall space to use any ideas?
Annette how long can you get away with not gettting anything done? Or is it how long you want to deal with the pain?
Today was Core Strenth

Diane, do you have a door that you can close. I don't have much wall space either so I will be using one of my doors.
Good luck tommorrow and definately take plenty to do. Don't have a laptop now. I would be taking that as well.
I started STS on Monday. Tomorrow will be Disc 2.

Hi y'all,
Diane my thoughts and prayers and good vibes are with y'all.
My insurance was supposed to pay full coverage,so I have to get all that done. Not mentioning it is time for the kid's physical, eye care for all of us and doctor's appointment for me. I usually ignore the pain until I have to take Midol. If it is really bad I have muscle relaxers.
I was looking for Andrew's shorts today which Tarjet didn't have and saw Flat Earth veggie chips, they are good. Another one of my snack addictions, Red Hot Blues are my fav. I went into TJ Maxx to take the cookie sheets back because it has that non-stick coating on it. They had no stainless steel cookie sheets! I couldn't resist looking at he workout clothes and items. Didn't see anything I just had to have. :D darn it!
I guess I have to go to Dickless Sports tomorrow and find Andrew's shorts. The middle school didn't have his size, this district is so disorganized.
I have never purchased anything from QVC or HSN but I love the St. Patrick Day's show with all the Irish items. I can sit and watch that all day.
Saundra, when are you leaving? Tell them hello from their other daughters! Us of course!
Before I started my Firm collection I would workout with Denise for 1/2 hour in the morning. I am sooooo happy I am a Firm Believer and Collector. Not to say anything bad against her, but Denise really can't cue well. She reminds sometimes of the woman who does the Slim Series. She is off sometimes in her cueing. Kelly Coffey Meyer's step dvd, she is off in some places as well.
Anyway, today I worked on my back, biceps and abs and then finished with Firm Tough Cardio Mix. On my way to fix my starvin' children in Irmo dinner. It is not like they don't know how to operate a microwave :D!!

Saundra, how long are you planning on visiting your parents?
how'd you end up being so far away from home?
yesterday was a false feeling of Spring. very warm, same for today. we dug a new flowerbox design with some bricks along the front of our house.
now I'm really wishing it was spring, so I could put some flowers in.
Diane, that is good that your in "early". get it over with.
when are you hoping to start your STS? (sounds like you'll never get sometime for yourself?)
Annette, your right. everything now has that non-stick surface on it. it is hard to find plain old fashioned cookware.
I will say Denise Austin is amazing looking. she "shore is purdy". she hasn't changed abit over the years. she seems like a very sincere person, to be honest. I think she geniunely cares about fitness. I just don't like her videos. but, I can see why she has a huge following.
I have read several of her books, & I really liked them. & I have seen her on several tv appearances & liked listening to what she has to say.
Annette, you meaning Debbie Seibers?
check on you again later?

I ended up so far away because of the military. My last duty station was on the east coast and because the federal government is here, jobs are more easily to come by.
I will be visiting them for about a week but not until May, I just like to plan ahead.
I think Denise is nice too her voice just irritates me. I think I have only own one workout from her and I don't own that one anymore. A couple of her current stuff looks interesting but then I would go and preview a clip and Yep her voice irritates me.
I wish the were preview clips of Debbie Sieber's workout. I know there is the informericial but that isn't selling me on her workouts.

Hi y'all,
I hope Diane and Nat are doing okay.
Yep I was talkin' about Debbie Siebers. I had one Slim Series that I liked then I got the rest. After awhile they were all the same, so I sold traded them away.
Denise still looks good. Her books aren't bad. I enjoyed reading them. I wish Jackie Warner had just a littttle bit more attention to Keli Roberts.
I did Bryan Kest's yoga. My quads hurt! Then Firm V3 w/Sandahl.
I was on FB this morning, and people in Cola had snow. I didn't see a drop!

Saundra, something to look forward to in May:)
Annette, now what is FB?
DH was told the plant will be closed next week now too.:( & 13 people will be laid off.
doom & gloom.
hope Diane posts soon, so we know they are ok.
our sunny weather is to cloud over this afternoon. then plain old rain forecasted through Saturday. but, that's alright. I'll take that over cold or snow.
planning to run for 1/2 hour next 3 days, along with 1/2 hour yoga dvds. I have 3 short ones: 2 Wai Lana's & a A.M. session with Elena Brower.
Saundra, Denise Austin sounds like she smoked a carton of cigarettes before her workouts. LOL...she gets those crazed-eye looks sometimes, that give me the heebie-jeebies.
I had the complete set of Debbie Seibers Slim Series. they "are" all the same basically IMHO. I would say they are intermediate. I did like them, but, eventually I grew out of them too. I think they would be too easy for you, Saundra. especially after your Cathes.
the original set, the cueing was off abit. but, not the rest of the collection.
I really like Debbie, she has a very calm, laid back approach.
the music was really, really bad.
I liked her weighted workouts much better than that silly resistance band.
like Annette said, they became repetitious & dull after time.
your not missing out on much.
I need another coffee & should get my act together here. have a good one girls.

It's a freezing cold here today.
Lori, sorry to hear about the plant. When they shut the plant down for a week, does that mean that everyone stays home or just that production is put on hold?
I hope everything is okay with Diane as well.
Thanks for the Slim Series review. I really didn't think they were for me. A couple of people on FIRMDirect board I post on does the workouts all the time.
Oh I am still cold. I've been inside for 10 minutes now.
Annette, I will have to go see an old picture of Denise, To me she looks as if she hasn't aged much.
Lori, I have just gotten around to listening to Plum Spooky. You were asking me about it awhile back. It is long. Usually the boks that she publishes (between the numbers - as we fans call it) are novellas and not full blown out novels. The reason that I didn't start listening to it right away was because I was listening to a lecture series on Classic Mythology. The lecture series was very good. It made me realize how much we, the media, movies and tv romanticize mythology and also how much of it gets repeated over and over again with only the names, places and scenery changing.
Checking in with Amy Bento HI Lo Extreme.

right Saundra. the plant/mill stops productions. stock isn't selling.
DH is management level, so he still goes in for meetings.
they were on 4 shifts & then cut down to 3.
it hasn't been this bad since the 80's. & even then it wasn't as bad.
DH isn't sure what the future will be? he thinks they will be ok for a year at least? then he doesn't know what? he's so close to his retirement now, too. (roughly 3 years) oh well, what can you do, right?
yeah, only a handful of people are around while there is a shutdown, mainly for safety measures.
these last couple of shutdowns, people were pi$$ed. basically told to take their holidays then. the guys b.itched that they didn't "like to be told" when they had to take their holidays.
DH said, if they're not careful, they will have "permanent holidays"!? idiots.
I've read alot of good reviews about your Plum Spooky.
Slim Series is very much like the newer Firms. don't you think Annette?
I saw a coyote this morning when I took Cheemo for his walk. a b.ig one. he just stood there watching us. at first I thought it was a german shephard. (in a field).

Lori the moderating is going okay. Honestly if I wasn't moderating this board, I probably wouldn't go there as often. I try to check in once a day during the week and once on the weekend. Someone had to come over and tell me about the FIRM Trip scheduled in April.
I am almost half way through with Plum Spooky and it is okay. Some parts I bust out laughing and others I get annoyed with. This is probably because I have all the Plum novels and currently there are 18 I think. So when I see something, an incident in Plum Spooky that I saw in books 1, 4, 6, and 9, I get irritated.
Everyone is complaining about how cold it is today.
With the job stuff it is hard until you are on the other side. I would probably be irritated having to take my holiday when I didn't want but if I didn't have a job I am sure I would feel differently.
Actually something similiar but not as dramatic happen during the President Obama's inaugeration. The bldg that I work in is right next to the White House. I don't work for the government, I am a contractor that supports the gov't. So we were all told that we had to have permission to work that day, the 20th otherwise we wouldn't be let into the bldg (security and all) For myself I didn't care because I didn't want to be anywhere down here and actually put in to take that day off.
Well, others were annoyed that they had to take Vacation that day. And I agreed with them.
What really annoyed me is that they decided that they did want some of us to work. I ended up working that Monday (which for us is a holiday) for 14 hours. So those of us who didn't want to work were asked to come in and those who wanted to work wasn't offered the opportunity. Nuts!!!
Just stop to grab a bite to eat. Now time to go back to work.

Hi Ladies:
Yesterday was the longest day. Well going in the morning did not mean going in and getting it done. Well we get there at 6:30am and check in and the nurses get my hubby ready for surgery and then I ask what time is he going in to find out it wasn't until 11:45 and it was only 7:30 my husband was not happy. by that time he is so ready for a cup of coffee and something to eat.
Well they finally take him in at 11:30 and I am sitting in the waiting room just waiting it was supposed to be an hour and a half procedure and it is almost 2:00
in the afternoon. I am so ready to go home of course I didn't bring enough to do I got bored of reading by the third book. I brought breakfast and some snacks but that was it. I was so sure we would be out of there at least by 1:30 or 2:00. Well any way the doctor came out and everything was fine.
to find out later by my husband after he left me he sat there waiting for another hour before he went in. he came back to the room about 3:30, they wouldn't let him leave until he went to the bathroom. Now it was almost 5:30 and I am so ready I told Nat I would go home and come back and get him but he said he was ready and he would go to the bathroom. I swear if all they wanted to see was pee in the bottle I would have peed in it and got out of there.
Off story a little I am waiting in the waiting room and someone comes in hello Diane how are you? and Nat is doing fine And leans over gives me a kiss and I am like who the frig is this? Not to realize until later of course that it was Nat's cousin's husband who works at the hospital as a nurse.
I swear this man reminds me of Howdy Dudty and all I could think of was Howdy Dudty and not the mans name.
Nat is doing O.K. I think a little bored and in pain and Lori guess what he can't shovel it better not snow anymore.
Saundra I didn't think of the door good idea even though I have one of those things that hang over the door to hang coats.
Lori I probably won't be doing the STS's for a couple of weeks my hubby has been staying in the living room he said our bed is to high to get on.
so I have to workout in the bedroom where there isn't much room.
Annette I had the slim series also, I also gave it away, they were just not for me.
I managed to get in a workout

oh Diane! at least you didn't lose your sense of humour! your post had me giggling. funny stuff.
it's going to be a long week with your DH. men are such babies (not that it isn't painful) but, compared to women, they really "milk it".
Annette, do you live near Union? I've been watching a story on Nancy Grace, about a Maria Fernadez (murdered mom/nurse) in SC?
apparently DH's work is laying off 16 people this morning. but, DH says they hope it's only temporarily (a month). so that's sounds better?
Saundra, I know the feeling about the books (you give it the old eye roll...pleeeease).
got the urge to bump up my running again. guessing the body feels somewhat rested once again.
nothing exciting for me to report. very warm here, Saundra, hope it starts coming your way. I know exactly how you feel. & those little groundhogs of ours predicted we were going to have 6 more weeks of winter!
crm549
February 6th, 2009, 03:19 AM
Yikes is right. 6 more weeks of this stuff would be maddening but I won't complain to loud because at least it is dry.
I did STS Disc 3 this morning. This was the leg workout. I really need work in the lower body area. That is where I carry most of my work so of course I found this workout to be the most challenging of all.
Lori do you like Nancy Grace. I like her but sometimes I think she is over the top. Almost the female version of Bill O'Reilly.
Annette, you are such a good mom. I hope your kids appreciate you.

Saundra, I like Nancy Grace's show. not her so much. like you said, she is over the top. sometimes she really gets on my nerves. I feel like kicking the "soap box" from under her feet sometimes! LOL
DH can't stand her. he thinks she's waaaay too dramatic. she is, but, I really do think she means "well"?
DH thinks she's rude & if her guests don't agree with her, she won't let them say anything (which is true).
I love her topics & the course of the shows, mainly.
I don't always agree with her. but, I do like how she says what she believes most of the time. & how she defends the underdog.
I watch her quite often. I think her heart is in the right place.
Annette, is a good mom. she's a good friend too. very kind hearted.
Saundra, bet you can feel the results already with the STS.
have a good weigh-in tomorrow.
& everybody have a great weekend.
crm549
February 6th, 2009, 11:09 AM
Lori I don't like it when they try to over talk the guest. If they are going to do that I think they should just be on the show by themselves.
What I do like about her is that she will speak for the underdog or for those less fortunate.
It has been a long time since I watch her show. Actually I don't watch much tv anymore anyway and what I do watch I have to DVR because of my hours. I like DVR because I can watch whatever whenever and I can fast forward through the commercials.
I still have the summer olympic on my DVR and it is taking up about some good 35 hours of space. I need to get rid of it.
I start class tomorrow. I am only taking one course this semester. It kinds of sucks because I have to go into campus for this class. I much prefer to do the classes online.
Almost time for me to go home. I am on call this weekend and I can only hope that I don't get called.

Howdy Dowdy y'all, couldn't resist Diane. Glad Nat is okay and you as well. Waitin' sometimes is worse the recovery.
Y'all thanks for the kinds words ( I tryin' not to get a *** head but compliments are far and few between, just kiddin' I do appreciate them), I am glad to have y'all as online/forum friends!
Cathe is starting on my birthday! I am so honored :D
What class are you taking Saundra? I prefered on line classes as well. I hope you don't have to go in either!
I really don't care for Nancy Grace. I am about an hour away from Union, which is ironic because my mother is from Union. The first claim to fame was the Susan Smith case. We go to Union every Thanksgiving. I gave my aunt and cousin my extra Firm and yoga workouts.
Of course my kids and Dave don't appreciate me. I was cleaning out the car today, and you would have thought they could have folded up clothes, but no...... Dave is 14 years old than I. He likes defined and boxed in roles for women. Which drives this feminist crazy! I told Dave he was sexist. MEN and CHILDREN! There are days when I want a 2 bedroom condo BY MYSELF!
Nope, clothes still weren't folded but my car is cleaned out.
I also moved dust around in both rooms yesterday.
That was a workout!
I didn't get a chance to workout, the yoga mat was sooo paved. :D Andrew has baseball tryouts in the morning and I have to negotiate with the coach not to move him up. Andrew is afraid and fearful. So hopefully he can stay with his friends.
Y'all have a great night!

Hi y'all,
Didn't workout at all today, but cleaned house. When the bathrooms at the gas station are cleaner than the ones at home, it is time to clean. That is for sure. The kids still need to put their clothes up and vacuum. I still need to go through clutter and organize. A never ending chore, that is for sure!
Katie came back from her retreat. She enjoyed and has a great group of friends.
Saundra, great on weight loss. Glad you are enjoying Cathe. So you will finish your certificate in May? That sounds terrific.

We had a great day almost 60 degrees a lot of the snow melted.
I was able to clean and vacuume the car today it was getting a little stale smelling.
I am so annoyed at my son when he was using my Trail Blazer who ever he had in my car spilled something on the carpet does my son clean it up no. I guess that is what the smell was it was either coffee or milk.
No workout today

Diane, that absolutely sucks. I would want to clock him on the side of the head. And if it was milk it leads a very bad smell.
Most people seems to like STS. There was one person who said she was going to send it back. And when I read that, I was thinking - "She can't send that back." Then SNM replied that they don't take DVDs back unless they are defective.
My heaviest dumbbell weight is 25lbs. I have platemates and pace weights and that allow me to increment the workouts by one. For Mesocycle 1, the rest times have been quick. Barely enough time to get your equipment for the next set.
Lori, I did the Joy of Yoga today and thought it was okay. I like Sara. She is very easy to follow.

other than the earthquakin', nothing exciting for me to report.

It was a fabulous weekend here on the east coast weather wise. We were in teh 60s. I really do love the Spring and the Fall.
I was on call. When I am on call, I alwasy feel as if I am waiting for the phone to ring. It didn't ring until 6:45am this morning. Now they have given us a blackberry to carry around. I couldn't figure out how to answer the thing so I missed the call. Lucky for me the person called back.
This mornign I did STS Disc 4. This disc worked the chest, biceps and shoulders. There were way to many pushups, but otherwise a nice workout. I followed it up with 30 minutes to Fitness Kickboxing.
Lori, earthquacke  Yikes is right.

Hi y'all
Lori, Wow an earthquake, there was small tremors in SC but I forgot where not too long ago. That is scary to say the least.
Diane, cleanin' out a car is a workout! I cleaned mine out on Friday. Gee whiz all the stuff I have. I do live and work out of my that is for sure.
Saundra, do you feel like Obama with a Blackberry? :D I am doin' well to use my cellphone. I have my kids to help me with mine.
I did abs really planks then I tried out Emily's 1/2 hour workout. I got this one and Kelsie's newest one from the library. I had a sweat goin' that is for sure. I wanted to finish my rotation today but you know how the yoga mat is paved. Perhaps tomorrow I'll get a decent workout in, keepin' weights crossed.
My heaviest weights are 30 (got them off of eBay, and not a bad price). I wish I could get plate mates, because sometimes that is a *** jump between 15 and 20 and 25 and 30. I was almost tempted to get one 35 for lat rows, but didn't. Don't tempted me though, Sears is having a 20%off sale on weights and accessories. :D

Annette i would love that Calgon bath, my bath tub is stinky the tub is to low to take a great bath in.
Saundra on did your weigh in go last week.

February 10th, 2009, 05:30 AM
Saundra, the weather has been nice here. there was a dusting of snow this morning. but, other than that, it's been sun & cloud mix. lots of dog walking.
I thought I'd tire Cheemo out, & ended up only giving myself shin splints yesterday.
Diane, actually DH was to be home all last week & he ended being home only for 2 days. the rest of the week he had to go in for meetings. so far same this week.
Annette, it was only 2.1 on the richter scale. but, like I said before, you never know if this is the B.IG ONE were to get eventually. it only lasted a second. but, you could hear it & feel it:eek:
we had one last year or the year before? & there was a b.igger one a few years ago that cracked our ceiling in our fitness room.
nope, I'm not fussy on it, to say the least.
Annette, if I swung around a 30lb dumbbell, I'm sure my arm would fall off! your crazy!!! I sure wouldn't want to be 'decked' by you! (I bet Annette is the one who keeps Andrew & Katie in line! not Dave) LOL
I bet you pack a powerful punch.
still plugging along with the yoga dvds. I've changed the rotation now to running 3 days & 3 days yoga. alternating. I still have at least 5 weeks of yoga workouts that I haven't previewed/done yet.
aren't you all looking forward to spring & summer? I sure am, at least the days are starting to get longer. here it's still light out at 5:00 pm.
DH has Powerblocks. they go up to 45lbs. I don't like them. I find them very cumbersome & bulky. they do have some that are for women also, but, I still found them too b.ig to handle. Annette, you would probably love them. are you familar with Cory Everson? apparently these were invented/made/designed by her now ex-husband.
wish I had something more exciting to say, but, I don't. LOL
signing off for the day & hope you all have a good one.

Hi y'all,
Diane, all the more reason we need to kidnap you and take you to a spa! I do have a Christy Taylor tape, but I just couldn't get into her workouts.
Lori, I have seen those powerblocks and the bowflex ones, they look and feel bulky. I found neat wraps at Todd/Moore sporting goods. After 10lbs or so, weights on shoulders hurt.
Saundra, it takes time to build up. When I first started I said, I am never gonna lift heavier than 5lbs. I changed my tune reallly quick. I enjoy doing back work.
Oh, my goodness, SC is pending a law to outlaw thong swimsuits. Of course my smart comment to the entire situation is what next, outlaw fanny lifter, transfirmers and tall box climbs. Only in SC, that is for sure.
The weather was in the 70's today. The only excitment was I went to Food Lion and they water main to break. Then a truck with "Primo Water" rolls up. The irony of it all.
I did several workouts today. Every once in awhile I'll push myself toward endurance. This morning I did Abs, Bust and ****,Core Cardio 1 and this afternoon I did The Hare and I just had to try out Kelsie's workout.
Oh well, off to cook dinner for my starvin' family in Irmo! Happy Hump Wednesday!

Diane, how's your DH doing? & how are you doing?
Saundra, how's the STS going?
crm549
February 11th, 2009, 03:17 AM
Lori are the powerblocks like the Bowflex select tech weights. I think that is what they are called. Do they do the 1/2 lb increments. Chalene uses Select tech in her Extreme workouts. They are pricey but a neat concept. I think Target sales a version of them.
Annette, that is very true. I do have a pair of 25lbs. I rareley used them except for back work. Who knows after STS I might be able to handle them.
Diane, how are you. Are you getting warm weather. It is about 70 degrees here in Maryland today. I actually felt hot while working from the train station.
Which one of you likes Dancing with the Stars? Shawn Johnson, the gymnast is supposed to be one of the dancer's this cycle.
I have completed Disc 5 of STS. It was very similiar to disc 2 with a few modifications. I followed up the workout by doing Gaiam Yoga Kickbox Fusion Express workout. There was no Yoga at all in the workout. Any this made for a long workout for me today about an hour and a half.
Lori I had two of Cory's workouts. Just got rid of them last month. Gave them to the National Children's Center.

Saundra, the Powerblocks come in 5lb increments. check out powerblock.com when you get a chance.
the newer models are nicer looking than DH's. he's had his for quite awhile now.
he likes/use them.
they are good if you like using heavy weights. for squats, lunges & such, but, like I said, I found them really bulky & b.ig for me when using them for bicep or tricep work. I used to use them & the Nordicflex alot when I was into bodybuilding more.
that was a long workout Saundra, bet you'll sleep good tonight.

Hi y'all.
Diane, hope you are doin' well. And haven't hit hubby over head with skillet :D
Saundra, glad you are enjoying STS. I think you will get those 30 and 35's! You go girl
Lori, Goose Creek is in the Low Country near Charleston.
I did Abs, Lower Body Sculpt with Derry on the cover. It is a parts series for about 1/2 hour which has alot of punch. Mostly floor work, no tall box climbs. Then I finished with Not So Tough Aerobics. Anna so lied about this workout :D I was done for the day. Did my workout early this morning, just not a morning workout person at all. But I survived!
I tried sleepin' last night, went to bed around 8:00, but as the sayin' goes no rest for the weary and wicked don't need none. Next thing I know the tv is on listening to Larry King and Captain Sully and the survivors. I was ready to strangle someone! Then I had hot flashes doing the night. Hi Saundra:
We had about 60 degree weather today, the sun was even out for a while.
The driveway where we are doing my house is still a sheet of ice though.
I ended up watching dancing with the stars this season because of my Aunts always watched it so I decided to check it out.
Anette I feel like a mother hen telling Nat not do this not to that, he did get dressed today. I think by the end of the day he was very uncomfortable and did more than he should of.
I have been trying to go to sleep earlier but I feel like I get up more during the night than if I went to bed later. I have been getting the bed to myself I am going to hate sharing again when Nat feels better.
Lori Nat's scar seems to bothering him more than anything, he ended up with two of them I guess one for each side. He has an appointment with the doctor next week but I told him if it is really bothering him to give them a call but of course he doesn't.
I tell he is to do what he is supposed to, he has a house to finish.
The well man is supposed to come tomarrow to finish up the well hopefully there is no issues he said he talked to the building department but so did Nat before he started the well and the same guy who so said go ahead and get it done is the one who gave him a violation.
No workout today. I did weigh in though another 2.4 pounds down.
So I almost lost the weight I gained during Christmas.
Saundra have you weighed in yet since starting STS?
Diane
crm549
February 12th, 2009, 03:17 AM
Diane, I weigh in every week at WW. I have lost 1.2lbs since starting STS. .6lbs the first week and .6lbs the second week. Congrulations on your 2.4lbs down. That is excellent.
I don't really watch Dancing with the stars, although I love Ballroom dancing. I have been DVRing American Idol this season. I have to DVR it so I can fast forward throught Ryan and all the emotional stuff. Plus I like to fast forward throught the commercials too.
Annette, that's Floor Burn. That is what I still call it. I hate when they change the names. I actually like Floor Burn better than Standing Legs.
Lori, the powerblocks do look rather bulking. I guess they are great as a space saver but I don't think I would like working out with them.
This week has gone by pretty fast. I think, I should get a 3 day weekend as Monday is a holiday. Today is slightly chilly but gorgeous nonetheless. I am in search of a sofa.
The problem is I am trying to find one that compliments my existing furniture which I have had about 8 years now. I like my furniture but they don't make it anymore. So trying to find the fabrications and color to match the existing furniture has been trying.
The other alternative is to just get a whole new furniture package which I really don't want to do because again I like what I have.
I have a loveseat, a chair, and a chaise. When I get the sofa I will get rid of the chaise because I don't have enough room in my living room for it. I wish I would have gotten a sofa instead of a chaise when I originally got the furniture, but at the time I thought having a chaise was cool.
Anyway, checking in with Amy Bento Hi Lo dome challenge Hi lo workout.

It was windy here last night as well, tornado watch in ATL. But the sun was shiny today but got colder at night.
Diane and Saundra, great weight loss! I weighed myself this morning so I lost a few pounds, but then again I am all over the scale. I do feel lighter though. Went to the library to read for this weekend, if it is nice.
Diane, I hope the well passes inspection. And everything turns out okay for Nat and not an infection. Glad to know you haven't hit him with a skillet yet :)
Lori, how was your day? I started to do yoga today but wasn't able.
Saundra, hope you can find your furniture and on sale to boot. Did you try Craigslist or do you have a "Trader" magazine. We broke down a few years ago and had to get new den furniture when the store was goin' out of business.
I just wish I can rip up all the carpet and put down hard wood floors everywhere and re-do the kitchen and bathrooms.
Today, I did Lisa Kay's Abs from BSS1 and chest/triceps and then finished with The Hare. I always feel elegant after doing the Hare. Hmmm maybe I'll have a chance with Dancing...Stars or Ballroom? Anna was before her time, wasn't she.

The ortho said that after he removes the braces, he will need to make some final adjustements. After the braces come off, I need to have gum surgery (to remove excess gum) and I also want to get my teeth whitened.

Annette, Lori is right. Lot's of people are sick. The guy came to work sick and I asked him - His name is John. I was like weren't you just sick in December. He was like yeah but it is not as bad this time around. And all I am thinking is Dude if I get sick I am going to hit you.
I have to say I am fairly fortunate health wise. I think I may get sick once maybe twice a year at the most and it is usually over within a week.
Checking in with Ab circuit yoga and an Aerobic 30 minute Treadmill workout. Weighed in with a 2lb weight loss.
I am in class right now. I got another two hours to do. I forgot to bring my headset so that I can listen to my training without disturbing others.

Saundra, you are doing so good on the weight loss! my goodness!
you've lost every week! I'm so proud of you.
you really do mean business!
I bet when you see Annette in April, she will notice a difference. b.ig change.
& same when you see your mom & dad in May.
keep it up.
are your pants & tops feeling alot looser? (new clothes, new clothes....an excuse for new clothes! LOL)
this is a new you this year for sure. weight loss...teeth....what next? LOL
rolling like a ball is so good for your spine. feels like a massage doesn't it?
Diane, hang in there....you'll be back to normal soon. Nat will be doing his own thing again & you can get back to yourself.
as for being moody...I was sooooo bitchy last week. had a b.ig scrap with my mom. LOL
I'm pretty sure it's my perimenopause. I have been so weird lately. feel like crying one minute, fine the next. sure it's my hormones. or some midlife crisis of sorts?
maybe it's this long frickin' winter?
trying to snap out of it. talk myself into a better state?
maybe it's just part of being a woman? & we should be allowed to feel like this sometimes?
well, I'm gonna make myself a tea & read a magazine for awhile.
check back later & see if any of you posted again.
take care.

Hi y'all,
Hope y'all had a great day yesterday! I cleaned out the refrig, call me Dr. Annette for all the experiments that were being grown in the refrig. It should have been condemned. Too bad we can't through refrigs when they get dirty and get a new one LOL. Went shoppin' yesteray, the traffic was horrible. Went to Sam's and of course I didn't get that Rodney Yee's yoga w/3 workouts but got a Fitness Mag instead. What is the matter with me!? Of course DAve and I argued over the food bill....he buys junk and I buy healthy food. Did go window shopping, didn't see much. Still can't find Get Chiseled but found others.
Diane, you are probably off schedule since hubby is home, I know the feelin' well. I get the munchies as well. And get a little down. I feel so elegant when I do ballroom dancin' especially the waltz.
Lori, got lots of chocolate, Godvia, then my sister sent me a Turtle bar and Dave gets Hersey's and Heath bars. He is taking the Herseys and Heath's with him to work. On top of that at Sam's we get these mini chocolate things. Restain and discipline. LOL
I meant to tell ya, I love Gino Vanelli who is from Canada. He reminds me of Bryan Kest with hair. I know Gino has cut his now, though.
Saundra, I had the black retainer not the metal ones. I probably need to go back for a retainer but I don't think my teeth have shifted that much. Andrew will need braces but I am not gettin' them until he goes to college. He still has much more growin' to do. One of my friends had braces, 2x and he is only 12. For boys I think it is better to wait than girls.
Didn't workout yesterday, we are goin' to late Mass, so I am fixin' to do upper body, Core Cardio 2 and abs.
Monday, will be the 7th week of the 90 Day rotation. I haven't lost weight per se, but I have noticed I am gettin' smaller and toned. I think I can see 1 ab now! LOL
Y'all have a great day!

Good afternoon ladies.
Lazy day for me. I have been shopping though. I was suppose to do a Yoga workout but I wanted to get to Wal-Mart before it got to late. As it was, there was still a line.
The lady that checked me out this morning and she has checked me out before is very nice but inefficient. So her line takes so much longer than anyone elses even though there are more people in the other lines.
I am half way cleaning my house. I have yet to make it through one warm. I keep stopping and doing other stuff.

my goodness! we all sound like we all have the same "thing"!? I'm feeling lazy myself & procastinating on my chores also. finding myself doing anything & everything, but, what I should be doing.
did some shopping also. Wal-mart again. spending $ that I don't really have:(
more yoga dvds. smack me upside the head...PLEASE.
Annette, I did that B.iggest Loser Yoga workout yesterday. your right! that one is hard. I was surprised. I had to modify alot. It's tougher than I thought it would be. alot of plank work. I liked it though, too. I was sore this morning.
I like Gino Vanelli too. Annette, apparently he has a grown son now who's supposed to be really good too. just starting his career. I haven't heard him yet, but, I've seen him & he's even nicer looking than his dad. same glorious locks.
I need to tape up my mouth. h.uge binge on chocolates. I hit my limit on the scale. need to up my cardio now.:( drats!
been eating junk alot myself. feel flabby today. LOL
Annette, if your talking about Jari Love Get Chisled, I wish you would have mentioned this earlier, because I just gave that series away about a month ago! I would have rather given it to you!?
it feels like summer here. very sunny & warm. we've had such nice weather for awhile. it's supposed to continue for another week. thank goodness:cool:
Annette, I'm giving you a b.ig kick in the a$$ for not getting the dvd & getting the magazine instead! what on earth were you thinking!? LOL temporary insanity!?
I think I bought that dvd. I bought 3 Rodney's. & 3 Suzanne Deasons.
Diane, hope your enjoying your Sunday. pigout on the goodies & start fresh next week. I'll be with you also.
Saundra, I got to Wal-mart this morning, soon as the doors opened. I too, wanted to beat the crowds.
did you get around to doing the yoga today? or are you gonna pass on it now?
did you buy anything cool?
I bought a new bread box, salt & pepper shakers, napkin holder. stainless steel. looks nice. I went for post-its. LOL & of course ended up with 6 more yoga dvds. OMG!?!!
well, I'm carrying on with some more chores. better check my laundry. DH is outside with Cheemo, painting that new gate we put up last week.

Hi Lori:
Thats what I am going to do start fresh with the new week. I am getting so frustrated with myself.
Annette I think you are right I feel like my space is invaded and it gets me so annoyed.
Saundra I am lucky I really don't have to whiten my teeth just maybe the crest strips once in a while, but when I do use them I get a lot of compliments about my teeth. I get a little embarrassed sometimes with the compliments.
My sister got them whitened and loved it.
I probably won't start STS until next week. My niece and nephew have off from school this week. My niece usually chats with my when I am working out so if I am starting something new I will not get much out the the workout.
Today was another Revolutions workout Cindy Thrope.
Diane
Lori
February 15th, 2009, 11:36 AM
Diane, you & me both (frustrated with myself) last week, I could not for the life of me layoff the junk? I kept trying to lose the same 3lbs all week. could not do it!!
don't get too frustrated, I go through these funks every so often?
hopefully next week will get back to some normalcy? it's going to be tough for you with Nat & then your neice & nephew around all the time, no?
teeth whitening kills me! ouch-a-rama....I'm always glad when I'm finished.
those whitestrips are really expensive now, around here anyways.
I used to get them done at the dentist office (works better) but, I really needed it professionally because of my smoking:o (tsk-tsk...bad girl)
Saundra, I hope you took some before & after pictures? what fun, I love seeing changes with myself (oh, that sounded conceited, LOL)....it's funny when we look at my pictures, everyone says I'm like a chamelion. I always have some weird funky haircut. & always totally a different haircolor! I never look like my last passport or driver's license. LOL

Hi y'all,
Where on the same wave length in re to Wally's World/Sam's this weekend? LOL
No wonder my beehind was hurtin' this mornin' you kicked it! :D
It was Rebekah's Get Chisled I haven't tried.
I did workout yesterday did Core Cardio 2 and added, Back,Biceps and Abs. Didn't get a chance to take a catnap yesterday :(. Piddled yesterday at best.
Diane, think of last week as a rest/recovery week. I think you are doin' better that what you think. It is probably about "space" I know I can't zone out and concentrate when DAve is in the same room when I workout. So I understand completely.
Lori, ***gest Loser is a tough yoga workout, I haven't tried the other 2 levels. I am verrry afraid. I thought about getting that Rodney but....
Saundra, as soon as I get one room straightened out/orgainzed, it gets messy again. And every time I take stuff to Children's charity, more stuff ooozes out of the wall.
Sam's had the cutest workout clothes, but I didn't get anything else new. I need to clean out my workout clothes. My size and weights are all over the place!
Y'all have a great day!
Oh by the way, all food consumed today has no calories! And workouts are double the calories burned. My present to y'all! :D
Lori
February 16th, 2009, 12:51 AM
thanks for that post Annette! I forgot no calories counted yesterday. LOL
thanks for the reminder...tee-hee
never heard of Rebekah's Get Chisled?
have any of you read Jim Kara's Cardio-Free Diet book?
did this weekend go by fast or what?????

did you hear/read that Stephanie Huckabee's videos will be sold on QVC?

Lori, I haven't been keeping up with Stephanie's project. But that is cool about QVC.
Annette, do you have Get Chisel'd yet. They are probably selling it at the FIRM studios.
Diane, I tried the crest whitening strips a long time ago before braces and I found them awkard and they didn't taste great.
Lori, have not heard of Jim Kara and yes this weekend has flown by. Today is a holiday for us, President's day and it is already 3 oclock in the afternoon and I am wondering where the day went.
Checking in with Disc 7 of STS Chest, Shoulders and Biceps. And 30 Minutes to Kickboxing Workout 2.

Lori
February 16th, 2009, 06:00 AM
oh, that's right. I forgot it was a holiday there. nice.
that Get Chisel'd! I should have known!?
apparently from the talk of Stephanie's dvds, they are "all about" bands. band workouts? being compared to Tracy Anderson.
crm549
February 16th, 2009, 06:35 AM
Lori, if it is band work, I will probably pass. I am not a fan of band work and I will be annoyed if the only way I can get the workouts is to also buy the bands. I don't need anymore bands.
Get Chisel'd is a sculpting workout featuring Rebekah Sturkie. It was part of the December FIRM realeases.
I think I need to buy a new Keyboard. The "b" key is not pressing right. So if you all see a word that looks weird, try putting the letter "b" in there to see if it makes sense. I try to proofread, but I probably have missed some things. It does make you realize how many words include the letter "b" though.

I use the Crest strips once in a while but like the Aqua fresh ones better.
It doesn't take much for me to whiten my teeth I never smoked, I don't drink coffee or any kind of diet coke or tea.
Today was a better day but still feel bloaty. How are you doing?
Saundra how are you liking the STS? How many times a week do you follow?
I am still not used to the key board on this lap top I am always pusing the wrong ****ons and the mouse is super sensitive.
Annette I think I stole you nap yesterday. Getting things organized is a never ending battle for me, I did manage to clean up a little I still have the dining room and my computer room to get done there is stuff all over the place, the dining room is my husbands fault he has light fixtures boxes that are supposed to be for our house that are just getting in the way now. I have a Tread climber in there that I haven't touched in months because of all the junk.
Today was TLT Better Buns I actually liked this one, I don't remember liking it when I first got it.

that really made me laugh for some reason, Saundra.
Diane, I was good today. I'm determined to get back to 113. like I said before, if I slip over 116, I know that's my limit. otherwise it's just too darn hard for me to lose now.
I ran for 45 minutes after doing a 45 minute yoga dvd. plus I took Cheemo for a 45 minute walk.
no snacking. I should be back to my target weight by the weekend. (should is the key word).
what surprised me most was bodyfat % has stayed pretty much the same? (guessing 3 lbs doesn't make much of a bodyfat % change?) or cause it's only a week? I don't know. I just know, I like to stay at the 113 mark.
constant obsessing. LOL
I love coffee & tea. especially coffee.

February 16th, 2009, 10:57 PM
Hi y'all,
There are a lot of "b" words...that is for sure! I am glad you took a nap for me, because I couldn't squeeze one out yesterday. Steph's new workouts do use bands but I think you will like them. They don't compare to Tracy Anderson's at all. I think someone miss read Steph's blog when they posted it on VF.
I did workout yesterday, did Nancy's Abs, Tracie's Sculpted, Thighs, etc and Upper Body Split. Today is LaReine's workout. We did try a new place called Queenstown Bistro. It is New Zealand fusion with Chinese/Japanese food. It was good. I brought home leftovers for lunch. I had my customary Bud Light draft with dinner.
I have 3 other friends that share my birthday, so wonder it is a national holiday :D I also share it with Sonny Bono and John McEnrow. :D
When we were building this house, the "Lite House" had a sale and I stored all the lights in my dining room as well. It is a never ending chore of organizing and clearing clutter.
Y'all have a great day!
Lori
February 17th, 2009, 12:42 AM
Annette, did you get the Namaste dvds that you were wishing for your birthday?
I was happy with my weigh-in this morning. must stay on track:rolleyes:
I swear that all 3lbs gained goes straight to my upper thighs. blech. never on my chest, where I need it!?
Annette, nobody around here likes my gray hairs. no support. very discouraging. I'm determined to stick to my guns. hoping it will look better when the gray's are longer? right now, they are just 2-inch roots. & I seem to have only this weird patch, not all over? ugghhh.....

Well, I didn't eat good Sunday or yesterday so I must stay on track the rest of the week.
Last week was gorgeous weather wise but it is back to being cold for this.
Lori, glad to hear you were happy with your weigh-in. Are you an everyday weigher or do you only weigh in once a week?
I am checking in with Step Till You Drop - a CIA workout. Love it.

everyday weigher. how about you?
unfortunately now, I feel I have to be to maintain. after I lost the weight, I found maintaining is almost as hard as "losing". I keep repeating myself, but, if I get up over 116, it is so hard for me. I seem to only be able to "mess" around with 3 extra pounds.
I'm hungry right now. it's tough.
3lb's is controllable. if I let it slip more, I have a hell-uv'a time.
I did a Annette-a-thon again this morning. 40 minutes of yoga, 50 minute run, now a dogwalk (shooting for close to a hour). I'm at 115 this morning, hopefully 114 tomorrow?
for some reason last week, I couldn't lay off the treats. oh well.
we all need to get back on track.
Annette, hope you had a b.ig honkin' peice of birthday cake. with icecream. yum. I'm so hungry....LOL

I am slowly getting back on track also still eating a little bit to much salty things but doing better.
lori your good if I kept myself in check with just 3 pounds I wouldn't be in the trouble I am now with my weight.
I used to weigh in everyday now I just weigh in at WW.
Annette I am slowly figuring out that Facebook, how do you keep up with your list of friends?

Hi y'all,
Thanks for the birthday wishes....I had cake but just a smidgen. Picked up low fat vanilla ice cream today. I need my calcium. I was tired today and tried to take a nap. I think my iron is low, so I got canned collards today. They were also on sale. Also picked up 3 salad mixes on sale for 1.25 or so, not bad they are usually around 3.00 or so.
Step...Drop I think is Heather Rider or either Marie Sill. Marie was in the CIA vid with Keli Roberts.
I am still tryin' to figure out FB, LOL I think the list is on the "header" at the top near the FB icon.
I weigh every morning, sometimes I'll weigh at night. It is pretty interesting how weight flucates during the day. I went to try on jeans today, none fit though, and the guy at the store said "reason why jeans didn't fit is because the moon is waning and we retain water." I'll take that reason any day!
Lori I think you worked out for me today, I could only do V5 with LeRheine-Thighs, Abs, etc. No I didn't get Namaste yoga dvds for my birthday. Perhaps Mother's Day.
Diane, I get in my salt mood too, which makes me drink more water. Which I am guilty of not drinking enough,I usually drink unsweetened tea.
Saundra, I understand about eating, February is a cruel but sweet month! I have to get back on track eating as well. I do alot of phantom eating and snacks. Especially in front of the computer.
I think there is a ghost in the machine, that says, "eat" while on the computer! :D
Happy Over The Hump Day, almost!

lori your good if I kept myself in check with just 3 pounds I wouldn't be in the trouble I am now with my weight.
hey Diane, this took me a long time to figure out. years & years. now you can understand my desperation on sticking with it.
been in the same boat. when I finally did get to my goal weight, I thought that was it. smooth sailing. uh-huh.
daily, weekly struggle. especially after the age of 40 for me.
it seems obsessive to weigh everyday, but, I know it is the only way it truly works for me. I can gain so quickly & easily now:(
& I just love food...the good, the bad & the ugly!
I'm not a "salty" person. I'm a "sweet" one. you put sugar or chocolate on anything & I'll gobble it down.
Annette, is your FB addictive? is it hard not to keep going there & reading, checking?
ho-hum, another Annette-a-thon for me. I did not get the scale to move. I see Diane, you worked out alot yesterday too.

did any of you get an email from Anna, about her re-releasing Better Body Better Buns? I didn't, but, someone posted they did at VF.
crm549
February 18th, 2009, 03:19 AM
Lori, I did get that email. I got it this morning.
I had actually posted last night - a nice long post and before I could hit submit, the post just vanished. So say I was irritated would be putting it mildly. After that I just went to bed.
Let's see if I can remember what I posted.
Lori, I weigh-in twice a week. On Saturday's (and that is because that is the day I weigh-in at WW) and on Sunday's because that is the start of my week and when my WW points start a new.
I was originally intending on moving my WW weigh-in to Sunday, but I think I like the double weigh-in even if they are back to back. My scale at home tells me Bodyfat%, Bone Mass, Water% and a couple of other things.
Annette, I have been trying to control the phatom eating. Because I write everythng down that helps. Yesterday was a really crappy work day and I didn't get to eat my second meal - which was a Lean Cuisine Chicken Alfredo with Brocoli. - one of my favorites. I ended up grabbing McDonald's at the train station.
Diane, my temptation food is a good seafood pasta and baked bread. Love it. There are two Step Till You Drops. Each workout is about 2 hours long. Both feature, Mark Hendericks, Melisssa Castillo, and Laura Downing. I only ever do Mark's sections. He has a lot of flair and drama.

Saundra, that was happening to me (my posts would vanish) awhile ago. quite a few of them?
that Lean Cuisine is one of my favourites too. I like quite a few of them actually.
when I started to really lose my weight, I would food journal. it helped me lose most of my weight. I then moved on to Fitday. it was only $19.95 (I think)...that is when I hit my goal.
every little bit helps.
stick to what your doing Saundra. it's working for you.;)
hmmm...I like to think then I did get that email from Anna? I deleted something this morning. I thought it was one of our threads.

What kind of sea food do you like?
Annette I am with you also that phantom eating just gets me in trouble.
Lori don't get me wrong I like the sugar things to but its the salty things that get me in trouble.
I have Fitday to but for some reason I don't track on the computer I don't find it convenient.
workout today Core Foundations. Saundra I finished my Tracie long workouts so I will be moving on to STS.

Hi y'all, just a quickie....before my family starves to death. EVen though I fed Dave a snack. Did a quick toss of asparagus in the black skillet with a little bit of garlic salt, pepper in grapeseed oil. I did a peanut dip then added cheese, crackers and salami.
I did do the journal thing for awhile, but I got totally bored with it. I think I have adult ADD or somethin' :D
When it is TOM, I do both salt/sugar. I guess I am in the middle of 2 extremes. There are times when I don't feel like eatin'. My scale hadn't budge either.
I talked to my dad tonight and he said he has been 2 bananas a day with hot water and lost 20lbs, along with a regular meals. I think he is tryin' to be sexy for my step mom, they crack me up!
I saw the BBB on VF. That is one of my fav videos, I love the pilates/yoga influence in that one. Reminds me of Anna's early Fitprimes.
I did manage to do Emily's Power 1/2 Hour today, even though it is a rest day with 90 Day. I had the Total Yoga series but gave them to my cousin. I did see yoga's at the Thrift store but I already have those. They were Rodney Yee.

I forgot to mention earlier I didn't know that collards were sold in the can, what brand is it? I found them frozen but sometimes I find the canned veggies easier to deal with at lunch time especially if I am just added it to a lean Cuisine or a bowl a soup to get those veggies in.

Good morning ladies. Got up early and did my workout so that I am not rushing today. Well I am not rushing right now. It seems no matter how much time I have, when it comes time to leave for work, I am always rushing.
Love Better Body & Buns and glad that it is finally making it to DVD.
Diane, my favorite seafood is fish (catfish, flouder) Shrimp, I will eat scallops if they are fried. I will eat Shrimp anyway except raw or cold. I don't like cocktail shrimp at all.
I do have problems when typing on my laptop. Things seem to jump around. But mostly I am using a keyboard. I know sometimes it is me. I type so fast that I get ahead of myself.
Lori, what number are you at now for Yoga videos. Pretty soon you will have enough for a whole year. I have 4 workouts on pre-order. I don't expect to see any of them until April May timeframe. Which is fine because I certainly have plenty to do.
Annette, Journaling is hard to keep up with. For me it is remembering what I ate. I didn't have my journal with me one day and had to think real hard to remember what I had eaten.

My preferred method of eating seafood is fried, so I don't eat it too often.
I like tuna or can tuna. I usually buy starfish and mixed it with boiled eqq whites, cheese, relish and miracle whip and then make a sandwich out of it.

Hi y'all,
I usually get Margaret something or another and/or Glory Collards. Margaret has less salt than Glory but you can get Glory in low sodium. Maragret's are little bit cheaper. You can find them both at Dollar General cheaper than the grocery store sometimes.
I never thought about putting cheese in tuna fish, I have to try that next time. Lent is comin' up soon.
I did Kelsie's 500, added Nancy's Abs and then V2. I split up my workout today.
My neighbor wants me to workout with her in the morning to get it over with. I am just not a morning workout person! But I am goin' to push myself. I am really tired of this extra spare tire. Too bad I couldn't use it when I had a flat on the interstate!
Did y'all see clips on YouTube of BBB, it looks very good and crystal clear. I like that series. Yep Anna was waaaay before her time. I thought about that today when I did V2, with high reps, low weights.
Y'all did super great on working out!!
I am fixin' to take a shower, I have dinner in the oven. And I have Andrew Greeley's newest book. It is not like I have about 4 books goin' at the same time. I,oh so have readers ADD!
Almost TGIF!! YES!

I went & got my hair coloured. I couldn't stand it. got it chopped off too. LOL
kind of a reddish brown. I like it.
I sent you all a picture. sorry I look rather dorky. no makeup on. washed it off. had it on all day & couldn't wait to get it off.
some show & tell pictures. I have 98 yoga dvds Saundra!? can't believe it myself.
the ones on the 3rd right rack on the bottom are the ones I haven't tried yet. working my way through those ones.
Saundra, what dvds do you have preordered? I have 3 yoga's on preorder. 2 coming 1st week of next month & the other in April.
one I'm really looking forward to: Yoga for Runners.
enough for the whole year, OMG...I'm so bad, huh?
Annette, I did see BBBB on Youtube. love it. I like that series too.
I make this tuna casserole with cheddar & it's so good. cheese & tuna, you gotta try it!
I'm very intrigued with the egg whites & relish. that I'm gonna try. almost like a egg salad. with tuna. sounds good Saundra. thanks for that.
Annette, when the heck do you have time to read????
I had something I was gonna ask Annette & keep forgeting? hmm.
reading a magazine in the salon about Jennifer Anniston's workout regimen. 45 minutes daily on the treadmill & yoga 5 days a week. thinking I will try that.
my love-hate relationship with the beloved dreadmill.
ok, I rambled enough. your all's turn.
Diane, how'd you do today?
I had no time to be bad foodwise today. stuck at the salon most of the day. then quickly had to take the dog for a walk. clean my house & get dinner ready.
time for pj's now.
talk to you tomorrow.:)

Lori, that is exactly what it is. Tuna fish salad. Although I normally eat it over toast.
Annette, I did see the you tube preview. I need to get my check in the mail.
Lori, let's see, I ordered Amy Bento KB Dynamics workout. CIA 2901 which also features Amy. Jari Love's Get Extremely Ripped. and Angie MIller's KB workout. I am thinking about orderin Lisa Rinna new DAnce Body workout even though I haven't done the too of them that I have.
Lori - 98 that is alot. I was in Target today and thought of you. Target carries Gaiam stuff. So they had a lot of Yoga DVD and accessory equipment.
And Lori stopped apologizing - you look fabulous. Your skin doesn't even look like it needs makeup.
Checking in with STS Disc 9. It was a very tough workout for me today.
I have to work from 6pm to 2am today. Not looking forward to that or the drive home.
Hi Diane,
Saundra
Lori
February 20th, 2009, 06:29 AM
Saundra, your too kind. I had to wear gobs & gobs of make up for so many years, now I hate wearing it. I always like to let my skin breathe. especially eye makeup really bothers my eyes after a long day of wearing. mica in the shadows is a common irratant.
goodness, I'm glad I'm no where near that Target with all the Gaiam products. LOL
do be extra careful driving home at that time of the night. that is a horrible shift.
hard to sleep on that day. buggers you up sleepwise the next couple of days too.
oohhh, yum, on toast. I love toast to begin with. any kind of toast. cheese whiz, peanut b.utter.
I'm going to make your tuna on toast (thanks for that) for lunch this Sunday.
sounds good. tuna is usually alittle bland or boring. that relish is going to kick it up abit.
do you use 2 eggs for the egg whites, for say a can of tuna?
now, do you mix the cheese in with everything? or do you put on top & broil?
as for seafood, you would love it here Saundra. on the westcoast we are infamous for our seafood dishes. fresh & plentiful.
that's right! your Amy's are coming out soon. I say that Angie Miller KB dvd. that looks really good. made me have some remorse somewhat for my KB's gone. those all sound good. last week I was missing my Jari Love set. (but, I got over it)
if you don't get the Lisa Rinna, then if you like the 2 you have, you'll wish you had this one also. then it will be more exspensive to purchase later, no?
our country is still abuzz with Barack being here. we're all happy he came. our Prime Minister really likes him (who doesn't?). seems like they like each other. which is great.
well cutting a couple of inches off my head, I lost 1/2 a pound! LOL
I did Total Yoga Water today. & on the treadmill for 45 minutes.
I'm not sure if I should run first & then do the yoga, or vice versa?
when I ran first before, I seemed tired for the yoga?
doing it after, I figure if I don't have enough gas in the tank so to speak, I can get off the treadmill whenever I want?
the TY Water dvd, seemed not much different than yesterday's Earth? Will do the Fire one tomorrow. Annette, why did you give away? what made you give them to your cousin?
what are all your plans if any this weekend? Saundra, you'll be sleeping in tomorrow. will you go to WW weigh-in still?
I have a mammogram appointment, then I'm going to get some Primulas (spring flowers) for the garden. brighten up the yard some now. glad to see spring coming.
DH has poker night tomorrow. not here, at a friends.
Saundra, I meant to mention: I wonder who Shawn Johnson will dance with? she's so itty-bitty. so cute. I bet she will be good. I think so. should be fun to watch & see.
I should get my act together here. do some chores. need to tidy up the front yard some. leftover leaves & some mole did a number on our lawn! there must be a couple of dozen mole hills out there!
when you have time Saundra, post what your thoughts so far are on the STS. I know you mentioned before that the lower body was killer. what was this disc 9 all about?
can you feel results. love to hear your opinions.
from what I gather from comments at VForum, they are pretty darn tough. I think the overall consensus is very good. lots of happy purchasers. so far worth the $.
have a great weekend girls. stay safe.
Lori
February 20th, 2009, 07:12 AM
Annette, I was gonna say on that Total Yoga set, I was leary on buying it, from VF'ers' calling it "Death by Chaturanga". I didn't find it all that bad, so far, I still have the dvd left.
I've had worse. I do like Nicki Doane's set, but, I think personally those have more?
I thought this set would be too difficult for me from the reviews, but, that was luckily not the case. so far, I am glad I bought the set.
this is another case of you should not always go by what other people say, huh?
sometimes you do need to try it out on your own, in case they suit your liking.
um, can you tell I'm not doing anything else but play on the computer?!
LOL, ok bye for now.

Hi y'all.
Didn't workout today, TOM came to visit. uGGGh with a passion. On the way to eat Mexican as soon as we find boy.
I'll do a tuna casserole with noodles, tuna, peas and a little bit of milk and cheese.
I read at night and early in the morning, went to library and got 3 more books. I swear I have readers ADD.
I love your hair and cut, looks nice, Lori. I have to get mine cut, just being really vain.
Someone on VF gave me a bunch of yoga workouts including the Total series but never got a chance to try them. Nicki Doane, I didn't care for.
That is okay sometimes it is good to do nothing and play! Kids do it all the time.
Saundra please be careful out there. Those are weird hours.
Diane, hope you are doing well.

Hi Lori:
A pretty good food day today I am just trying to cut some of those starchy foods they get me in trouble.
you have a couple of yoga dvd's I have. I like the hair cut, I don't where much make-up either I will when I go out though.
Was the US president anywhere in your area?
Saundra I wouldn't have thought ot put cheese in tuna either I have had the eggs though.
I don't like cooked tuna fish for some reason I think it goes back to Home Ec. days in high school.
Annette do you like your hair short or long?
My library is right down the street but I don't go to it much since they put up a new one I don't care for it at all and can't find anything there is
3 floors and no signs to where anything is. Even the poeple that worked their didn't like the new set up.
I go to the one near my sisters house its more comfortable.
Diane
Walking again today it was pretty cold today we didn't even reach 30 degrees.

February 20th, 2009, 09:56 AM
Diane, it was cold here too.
Lori I usually buy the single server cans and for those I used 1 egg. I mix everything up together. For me it is a good WW meal. A tuna fish sandwich comes in at 5pts the way I make it.
I am going to try to go weigh in tomorrow. The last weigh-in is 1030. I also have class. If I don't make it, I will go on Sunday.
I just got to work and found out most of the things I was suppose to do tonight have been cancelled. Now they are trying to find stuff for us to do. I would rather go home and just take leave.

February 21st, 2009, 01:07 AM
Saundra, I feel sorry for you. (work wise). wondering if you got to go home?
I'm going to try your tuna concoction today. been itching to taste it. makes my mouth water as I type. where did you find this idea? very healthy too. lots of protein. low fat also.
I weighed in at 113.5. very, very happy. only 1/2 lb from where I like to be. I worked hard at the diet mostly this week.
snacking gets me into trouble. too b.ig of portions.
Annette, you make me laugh so much. did you find boy? LOL
I bet you & your family have some great laughs together.
Diane, the President was at the other end of the country. far, far away.
so down to earth. he stopped at some Bakery & bought his daughters two b.ig Maple Leaf cookies. & he bought a Beaver Tail for himself. he said it reminded him of some other artery clogging food back in Chicago. LOL
he's so cool.
he also picked up a few small gifts for his "girls" from a Montreal Marketplace.
this wasn't a "planned" trip. well, obviously for him & his secret service it was.
but, he totally surprised everyone. it was great.
thanks for the comments about my hair. I feel the "love". makes me feel good.
I do like it myself. easier to handle.
the gray seemed to bother DH & my mom more than me.
I have to thank Saundra for making me go to someone new. really.
Saundra, gave me the guts. glad I did.
something different. needed a change.
Annette, I really liked your hair in that picture Saundra posted from the Firm.
you looked alot like Thandie Newton to me. she's so pretty.
it's still nice here. but, it is to turn to rain next week. so I want to get those flowers in the ground today.
Saundra, how is your class going?
coffee's gone, better get busy.
thanks again to all 3 of you. my online friends. you are wonderful women. so glad to have found you here.

I lost my post again but this time it was because my laptop decided to do an update and restarted itself without warning me.
Lori the class I am taking is a bit of a freelance class. I have to do 3 hours a week and I chose to do the time on Saturday's between 1 and 4. When I was here last week the girl said I could come anywhere between 10 and 4. So today I showed up at 11 and found out that the times have been changed and I can't come until 12. Very irritating.
I gained a lb this week. Not surprising my eating hasn't been consistent this week and I have eaten out too many times.
Lori I left work just before midnight and got home before 1 am. Then I started watching HSN and they are selling these jeans that I am trying to resist buying. They are $44.00 a pair and of course I want like 3 pair. Hopefully they will sell out before I tempt myself with the purchase.
I thnk I said a lot more in my last post but don't remember now.
I am checking in with Treadmill Preprogrammed workout and Total Stretching Workout 3 from Cathe.

the value of the day right I was tempted to but i truned it off.
Lori you go from snow to being able to plant flowers, I can't plant anything the ground is still frozen.
Well i started cleaning the kitchen today moving the stove, refrigerator and some cabinets that I am able to move out of the way. I got most of it down tomarrow I just have to clean out the refrigerator and clean one more wall.
Forgive my mistakes if I make any my husband bought me this thing to wear on my wrist and I am finding it awkward..

Hi y'all,
Diane, I cleaned out the refrig last week, I still need to clean the stove/oven. It is cold enough to do it. It is a self cleaning and it gets hot. But feel free to come over and clean mine!
Saundra, didn't read the memo you are banned from both HSN and QVC :D LOL
No, I am not goin' to Cathe's road trip.
You have to have a sense of humor with this family, that is for sure!
I did workout today, I did Abs, Lower Body Split and Fat Blaster.
Speakin' of eating, the Episcopal church called today and The State Newspaper is doing an article on the church for Shrove Tuesday. We have pancakes on Tuesday. I think we are having pancakes on Sunday at the Catholic church. I can't keep everything straight to save my life!
I really do need to get my hair cut, it has fallen out on the sides. I think my hair has changed texture since the MEANOPAUSE. I need a cut that I don't have to do much with it.
Y'all have a great day!
Lori
February 21st, 2009, 01:55 PM
oh my goodness!!!! Saundra, Saundra, Saundra, I cannot thank you enough for that tuna post!
we LOVED, LOVED, LOVED it!
talk about delicious! it was better than I was imagining it. can't wait to have it again. I think I could eat that everyday!
tasty, tasty, tasty!
now, I was waiting for that weight gain Saundra. I was laying low, was so surprised you kept losing every week.
take it from the horse's mouth. that is so normal. been there, done that.
just your body adjusting to all the weight loss.
no worries, really. you'll be fine. carry on with your plans.
next week will be better, I know that.;) it's only a lb. no b.iggie.
father forgive me, for I have sinned. yep, added 5 yoga dvds. yes, went to the drugstore & they jumped right into my hands! I swear.
gawd, we're gonna be in the poorhouse soon...but, we'll have yoga dvds!?
Diane, the flowers are in the garden. the snow was a freak thing for here. our weather is usually always, always warm. year round.
that snow we had, was like when it snows in Africa or something.
not the norm for here.
glad it's over & gone & done with.
we only have snow in the mountains.
we like to claim, you can snow or water ski on the same day. waterski in the lower mainland & drive up the mountain & snowski.
I think that was global warming or the world coming to a end or something for us!? LOL
darn near sent me to the crazyhouse! that did.
Annette, I told you before, my hair went through this really weird bad state about 5 months ago.
it was like a rat chewed the sides. dry, horrible mess.
never in my life, even with all the bleaching, hilighting, dyeing I've done over the years was it in the condition it was in?
even my scalp would feel sore sometimes? & sometimes so itchy.
I believe it has something to do with MEANOPAUSE.
It had to be a hormonal thing? that's my guess.
this last haircut got rid of the fuzz. looks very healthy & feels so much better.
I wanted to get it cut like Rihanna's, but, I chickened out.
not that I haven't had my hair that short, I was nervous with the new hairstylist. but, she did a great job.
she sold me this mask stuff that really felt great. thinking I probably needed a switch from my usual hair products too.
you'd probably feel better with a trim.
laughing to myself. Annette did her Annette-a-thon again today.
jeans...that's what it was. I was gonna take a picture of all my jeans! LOL
don't even mention jeans Saundra. I'm Emelda Marcos of jeans!
that's a good price. you'll be sorry. especially now that you lost the weight.
Diane, what's wrong with your wrist?
how is Nat doing? is he feeling better? are you still the servant?
Saundra, the freelance class sounds good. not as stress-feeling. especially you working too.
as for the not being able to come until 12, would have ticked me off too! geesh, thanks alot!!??
the self-cleaning oven! what a godsend that is. I will never buy another oven without that option again. that's for sure. once you have that, there's no going back.
pancakes & berries. yum, that's what I like. for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
I bought my mom Barack Obama's book: Dreams from My Father for her birthday.
looks really good.
he had such a interesting childhood, upbringing & life even before he got to be President.
the only thing I was disappointed with is: there's no pictures. just on the cover.
anyhow, I know my mom will love it. she loves biographies especially.
I'm hoping his storytelling will be as mesmerizing as a orrator he is.
I had a busy day. ready for bed. it's only 8 pm. yesterday I went to bed at 9:15. getting like Annette.
waking up with the crows. LOL
have a nice Sunday everyone.

Good morning. Actually it is almost noon here. I took like a 4 hour nap yesterday and was up in the middle of the night watching all of the Law & Order episodes that I had recorded. I had episodes all the way back until November. Anyway didn't turn off the TV until 6am.
I am supposed to do Yoga today - probably won't though.
Lori glad you like the Tuna. And don't worry about the Yoga videos. You enjoy them so there you go. I did manage to resist the jeans. Actually is six months or so maybe they will be on clearance. Sometimes that happens.
Annette, I know I know. Actually I have been pretty good. I don't think I have made any QVC or HSN purchases in the month of February. Although I have been hitting up Amazon pretty well. Restocking my audio book collection.

Hi y'all,
Saundra you are sooo banned from Amazon as well, as you confessed! :D I am havin' a hard time finding jeans, I need to take back the hoodie Katie gave me to Old Navy and find a pair of jeans, hopefully on sale.
Part of that 1lb gain might be muscle and water retention. I read the post either on Yayas or VF that Chalean had written.
Diane, do you have carpal syndrome. I think I am having touches of Arthur and tenditis near the elbow. Also I am bloated. UGHHH! If I could drain myself, there would be no water shortage at all.
Lori, Dave is being evil again, he got 4 more boxes of GS cookies. But he is tryin' to get on my good side by repairing the sink faucet which I broke a year or so ago, but didn't tell him. I think that was the week when everything I touched broke.
I went to 8:00 service and did the Old Testatment reading which is hard for me as well as Paul's letters. Today was Youth Sunday and one of the youth did the sermon, a great sermon. I did workout, did abs, cardio and Lower Body Shaping with Derry on the cover. This one has the parts from the Classics. Ate dinner and took a power nap. I have to take the kids to CCD in a few minutes.
Yep I will have breakdown one day and get it cut......I am tryin' to save up. Being beautiful takes money, not that I am a high maintence person.
I need to clean as well, it nevvvver evvver ends does it!
Y'all have a great day!
Lori
February 22nd, 2009, 09:05 AM
Annette, just even alittle trim will make the world of difference. I know what you mean about the cost of going though. uggh. that is one of the reasons, I did not want to color again too. more $$:(
what is CCD?
what flavor of GS cookies? I love the mint & the originals. the vanilla & chocolate ones. we don't have girls come door to door anymore. hardly see them standing outside of the stores selling them anymore either, now that you mentioned it. (good thing)
you need to come here & buy jeans. their dirt cheap. & I know you'd find a pair.
Annette's right Saundra. that probably is muscle. especially with all your STS.
& I feel sorry for you working those hours. shift work is so hard on the body. & the diet too. crazy hours. crazy sleeping habits. you'll be ready for a holiday break soon.
when are you & Annette going on the Firm trip? in April?
I sure will miss the two of your posts. like last time. come to take you two for granted now, daily.
poor Diane, will be stuck with just me again. LOL
Lower Body Shaping was one of my favorite videos. I haven't done that for eons. gosh there was some really great videos. Anna made some spectacular stuff. nobody really has come close, when you think about it. she still is the Queen of all productions. they must have cost fortunes to make. especially if you compare to the stuff that's being made nowadays?
Saundra, did you do any yoga? you probably should just rest & relax some.
Diane, you might wanna lay off the yoga for awhile too. it can be real hard on your wrists.
finishing up my last 2 loads of laundry. glad I planted the flowers yesterday. light rain now. can anyone tell me, why the weekend is going by so fast??
Annette, you did your A-a-thon, your allowed to go ahead & have a cookie:p

Hi Ladies:
Annette I had trouble with my wrist a while ago and I switched hands on the computer, My right wrist was doing much better but a couple of weeks ago while cleaning the car I jammed my hand so it was kind of set off again. It's probably carpal but never had it checked.
Lori the yoga dvd's I have been doing lately doesn't have much poses on the hands.
I am ready to get my hair done again soon the gray is showing and no I am not one to let the gray show.
Saundra I was finishing up the kitchen today thinking I was done but didn't clean out the freezer or toaster oven. I need to put on the self cleaning for the oven even though I don't thing the self cleaning works that good I always have to go back and clean the door and the bottom of the oven.
I did the first STS today I liked it over all but couldn't stand all those push-ups. I cheated on the last set I think the boot camp ones, I just did table top push-ups.
My arms were a little shakey by the time I was done.

Annette, I don't think I can banned all three. I like Amazon because sometimes it saves me from having to go through and search the local stores - like Wal-mart and Target for something I need. I usually get my item and 2 days and I don't have to pay taxes.

Diane there are a lot of pushups in Mesocycle 1. I checked first disc in Mesocyle 2 and I am happy to report there are none.
Yes you do increase weights a you move alone. Your first week is 60% of your 1 rep max. Weeks 2 & 3 is 65% and week 4 is 70%. If you didn't do the 1 rep max testing. Then you would just use any weight you want but you should try to increase your weight as you move from week to week to week.

Hi y'all,
Saundra you will be missed! That is for sure, and thanks for saving the boxes, maybe when you fly over CAE, drop them off from the plane. Okay I won't ban ya from your fav shopping haunts :D Will you be able to make in the fall. I just hope they plan the next trip during a "by" week during football season. I am already missing Arena football. Season has been cancelled.
Diane, sorry to hear about your wrists, I thought about you at Todd/Moore sporting goods, I saw those wrists thingamijigs as well. Every once in awhile I get sore wrists as well. Then again,I get sore every once in awhile too. I did find these neat dumbbell wraps for the handles of hex weights. I got the last 4. Less pressure when I have to put on shoulders.
Lori, CCD- is religious ed. The teens go at night on Sunday. It was hard when Andrew had Sunday School in the morning and Katie at night. Both of them are at night now. And we have a carpool system going. Katie is getting confirmed March 17, if I can find a sponsor. One of my friends backed out.
Yesterday I did Jiggle Free Abs on the Bean. And then Firm Cardio. Tonight I did 10 minute bonus abs from TF with Stephanie's workout. And finished with V4. Dave was upstairs, so I used my 3lb weights to workout.
Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday and DAve is makin' me feel guilty if I don't go. I probably go at 9:00 am.
Diane and Saundra, good luck with Cathe. I am tryin' to figure out my next rotation in about 4 weeks. I found one on Yayas that concentrates on the lower body. That is what I need most.
I am slap worn out, goin' to bed. But I did find at Walmart green peppers for 75 cents! They are usually 2.00 during the winter. I cut mine up and freeze. Tomatoes are 3 for 1.00. And if I don't eat all my tomatoes I'll freeze those as well. I usually don't go to Walmart but I was looking for Andrew's Clemson calendar. I guess I'll be payin' full price. I still can't find the newest releases at Walmart. I refuse to pay over 12 at Best Buy and Target.

Annette, that is the second time they have cancelled Arena Football isn't? I seem to remember about 10 years back they had it. Then disbanded the league and then brought it back.
Diane, for the tubing you need a door attachment that loops througth the band and then that you can lodge in the door when close. Another method that I got from Amy bento was to take two chairs and place a body bar or sculpting bar on the chairs. You sit in the middle of the chairs and then pull yourself up.
I tried Amy Method for a couple of workouts but then I went to the tubing method. But I don't have the door attachment so I loop it through my figure 8 tubing and then lodged the figure 8 tubing in the door. It worked okay.

SaundraLMAO, Saundra!
LOL, I'm sorry.
here I was blaming it on perimenopause a couple of weeks ago. guess not.
your too young for that.
chalking it up for just being pure plain old b.itchy?
it's snowing here. really. I hope it doesn't kill my flowers? what is going on??!! my gawd!
went to Costco. yes, I know what your all thinking! & yes, I got 3 more yoga dvds.
ho hum. nothing exciting to tell.
the week's half over Saundra, hang in there kid;)

Thanks Saundra I am not sure what I am going to with the pull-ups.
Lori I can't believe it more snow for you. I am hoping there is no snow for me my hubby can't shovel for a month. I am hoping the weather cooperates.
Do you believe he had 3 hernias I don't even know how to spell the stupid word.
No workout today.

Hi y'all,
I wish all of y'all were here, they are predicating almost 70 degree weather this weekend, but a rainy Monday.
Sorry you feel icky, I have had those days, weeks, months, years, decades :D Saundra. I am not sure about the history of arena football, there was another professional or semi-professional league that disbanded. I can't remember the name of that organization.
Diane, I got what you meant. Hernia, pain the ****, whatever you want to call it! I worked out for you today Diane.
Lori, you crack me up going to Costco but what did you find? Any good ones? Our flowers are starting to bloom as well. I hope we don't get a late freeze. It hurts our peach crop. SC makes more peaches than GA, even though GA claims they do but they don't.
I did The Hare today and Rodney's Abs.
It sounds like we need a group hug (((((%%%%))))>>>>>>>>vibes. Off to sing Kumbia!
Y'all have a great night!
Lori

Lori, you crack me up going to Costco but what did you find? Any good ones?
Annette, I'm glad your amused. LOL...I had to quickly sneak these in, before DH saw. (he would definitely not be amused) LOL
Rodney Yee's Core Crosstrain & Shiva Rea Fluid Power. hesitated on the Shiva. I have her Flow Yoga title & I wasn't exactly in love with it. it's ok, but, anyhow I still bought this one!? hoping I like it better.
& the other is a Rainbeau Mars set.
sunny & chilly this morning. dragged in what flowers I could. hoping I don't lose the plants I planted last weekend.
Diane, I did that 15 Minute Results dvd. you can actually make it into a full hour dvd. it has a upper body, lower body, total body & ab 15 minute section.
it moves rather fast. not for a true beginner. I really liked it. not near as much as the Yoga Now set. but, it fits in well with those.
Rodney & Mariel have great chemistry together. they seem to be like old friends. very comfortable. & laid back banter.
glad I bought it. better than I thought.
Annette, I went to Costco for nuts. LOL...why do these darn stores all carry yoga dvds now!!?? their not helping my budget whatsoever.
I also ended up with a bucket of dishwasher tabs, impulse buy on some dog toys (which I will say, Cheemo has no interest in them whatsoever) & gigantic bag of potscrubbers! LMAO....somebody please help my insanity.
ewww...& ouch! I didn't even know you could have 3 hernias? I thought you just got one. like when your appendix breaks or something. Diane, I thought for sure that was the end of our snow business. boy, that was wishful thinking. snow sucks!
Saundra, do you have the weekend off?

February 26th, 2009, 03:16 AM
Lori, nope. I am on call this weekend. So basically I am going to be waiting for the phone to ring.
I hurt my lower back somehow. I have already taken two advil. I don't know if it was yesterday's workout Back & Triceps that did it, but I started to feel a twinged last night and when I woke up this morning - OUCH. I still did my workout.
Ironically, moving around makes it feel better and staying perfectly still in one spot makes it feel better, but going from perfectly still to moving - OUCH.
Diane, and a *** ouch to you. 3 hernias. Yikes.
Annette, your weather sounds gorgeous. It has warmed up to the point that it is tolerable here.
Oh Checking in with CIA 2802 All Cardio Latin Xplosion.

Lori I have an inversion table. I didn't have enough time to use it this morining but when I get home I will hang upside down for a few minutes. That stretches my back and usually makes it feel better.
On call duty trully sucks but that is mostly because I live an hour a way. The commute to and from home usually takes longer than the problem I have to fixed.
February has really flown by. Well except for this week. on Monday I thought it was Tuesday and Yesterday I thought it was today -already.
I still have another 4 1/2 hours of work and I am ready to go already.
So Lori do you plant your own flowers. I am not a garden person at all. Everything dies on me, but that really is that I don't take care of them. My friend who loves to Garden, came up and planted lots of flowers for me. They looked good at the begining but then they grew and required me to cut and pull weeds. Just not into that.
So last fall I just pulled every thing up and put mulched down. In the spring, I am going to go another couple bags of mulch and put that down. I actually thing some colors of mulch are quite pretty all by themselves.
Okay back to work.

Lori:
At one time I almost bought the Yoga now but the the dvd's were out of stock and I never checked again.
Saundra I did the third STS disc legs I have to tell you I didn't mind this workout at all there was no dred factor at least for me any way.
There was one move I could do or I should say couldn't do the way Cathe was doing it. The squats on the wall with picking up the weights there was not putting the weights down for me I couldn't reach them.
I was so annoyed at my weigh in this week I was actually feeling pretty good but the scale said I gained 3 pounds I knew I shouldn't have weighed in after a weight lifting day, for some reason I always show a gain after lifting weights is drives me nuts sometimes. So now I feel like I am behind a week.
Annette we were supposed to have 50 degree weather but we didn't make it out of the 40's but it still felt warmer but this morning there were these *** giant snow flakes while walking my niece to the bus stop. It didn't last long but it did look pretty.
Workout today STS disc 3 legs, section of ab hits, 30 minutes of walking

Diane, people have been reporting a weight gain with STS. There is a whole thread about on the Cathe forum.
Also for th Wall squats - if you have Yoga Blocks you can place the weights on those and trying picking them up from that higher elevation.

Lori
February 27th, 2009, 12:56 AM
food for thought. (pun intended)
funny you 2 should mention the STS weight gain.
there was an article in yesterdays newspaper about how some doctors at some University were finding that different types of exercise effect how people eat:
1.)they found runners tend to eat fruits/vegetables after (craving water based foods) & had less of an appetite after their exercise
2.)weight lifters craved & ate carbs like pasta & chocolate/sweets
I found it very interesting.
Saundra, I do plant my own stuff. I love to garden. I love being outdoors. I'm a very outdoors person. gardening is very theraputic for me.
there are some pretty colored mulches.
in California, I like how the people use different colored/sizes of rocks in their gardens too. excellent for people who don't like or have the time to tend to a garden.
& your right! February did go by super fast.
I'm jealous of your inversion table. did you have time to use it last nite? they are great for keeping your face & neck looking young too. I want one.
did you get it from the shopping channel?
hopefully you won't get called in this weekend.
have a nice weekend girls. I'll check in later. I better get busy. get my b.utt off this computer.
crm549
February 27th, 2009, 01:57 AM
Lori I did get it from a shopping channel. HSN to be exact. I did use it last night and again this morning.
When I woke up my back felt better - no spasms. So after I did the inversion this morning I tried to do a couple of stretches. Did the child stretch and immediately the spasms came back. It feels worse now than it did before. I thought about calling a doctor but I got on WebMD and they said give it 2 or 3 days to workout itself out. This is only day two. If it is not better by Monday I might try to call a doctor then.
I hate starting something and not finishing it but I am starting to question my STS rotation. For one, it is just so long and two I don't think the program is helping me loose weight. I know part of it is my fault because I have been eating the pasta (which I found it funny that the article said that). I think this program is one for people who are already lean and want to sculpt and redefine there bodies. We'll see. I hurting my back doesn't help my attitude over this.
Lori, that is excellent that you like gardening. I think that takes such patience. And it is a lot of hard work. I am the opposite of you - I am not an outdoors person at all. You heard me complaining last year about the little bit of leaves I had to rake up. If I had to rake up all you and Diane had to rake up, I would die. Actually it is not that I don't like the outdoors, I just like for it to be pleasant which I define as beautiful weather - not too hot or too cold, not bugs flying around buzzing in your ear. No stinking smell in the air - which happens in the summer time quite alot in my area
I am going to work today. Although I will be late. If I didn't have to pick up the duty blackberry, I probably wouldn't go in at all. But WebMd saids I need to keep moving.

Lori
February 27th, 2009, 05:41 AM
yes, keep moving. you will only stiffen up more if you don't. I'm sure you'll feel better tomorrow.
I'm gonna go out to my recylcle box & see if I can find that article & post it for you.
I was very intrigued by it, because I know this is exactly what I found for my case.
everytime I did AWT I gained weight. & NO, it wasn't more muscle than fat. because my bodyfat % was the same.
when I started running I lost weight. all of it. each time I stopped or laid off of it, I gained.
what I found with the yoga, I gained strength, & it was nice to have something else other than just running.
I look & feel amazing. without sounding too conceited.
I love the slimming & leaner look also. for me.
I am just as strong as when I was weightlifting. if not stronger. I can do pushups & situps like nobody's business now.
anyhow, that's my personal take on it. I hope I can find it.
I hope you didn't bugger your back up from the STS. have you done the heat & then cold packs on it?
it can be Africa-hot & I love it. the hotter the better. I am like a lizard.
we don't get stink here. is that from the pollution? like in California? smog like?
we're lucky here, because the winds come off the Pacific Ocean.
we don't have the bug problem that much here either.
in Alberta & Saskatchewan (where DH is from) horrible! DH claims some misquitos are the size of birds. LOL
you'd like it here. I know you would.
ok, gone outside to the recycle box for that newspaper.

February 27th, 2009, 06:54 AM
Lori thanks. I will take a look at it when I get to my email account. I can't check my email from work that's why I bought an Iphone but I don't always get a sginal in the part of the bldg where I work.
And as I look back on last year I agree with you. When I was only running once a week, I didn't have a problem with loosing weight or at the very least I was maintaining my weight. And I was eating a lot of junk. It wasn't until I stopped running becasue it started to get cold that the weight started to go up each week.
So yeah - once my back heals. I might alternate my rotation. The only thing is if I do that, I know I won't even try to do STS again until the beginning of next year. But anyway thanks for digging up the article.
I will try the heat and cold thing when I get home tonight. I was talking to a guy from work and he suggeted the same thing.
And you are so lucky to have Vancouver weather. Actually Maryland weather isn't that bad but it can smell bad in the summertime. And I am sure it is from the pollution. In the summer we have Code warning days depending on how breathable the air is and how hot it is.
When I was in the military I was stationed at a place called Diego Garcia. It is an Island in the middle of the Indian Ocean and it is on the equator. So it was extremely hot there. We also got quite a bit of rain. It would rain for 2 months straight out of the year and I am honestly not exaggerating.
The heat doesn't bother me so much as the humidity does. Humidiity sapps my energy like nothing else.
Also going back to weight loss for a moment, when I used to do the AWT FIRM workouts - I didn't notice any weight gain but with Cathe weight workouts I do notice that. I notice that in the past as well.

I know, I think am lucky to live here. too. I love it here. it does get hot here in August & everyone complains but me. in the 90's. it only lasts maybe 2 weeks at most.
we do get alot of rain here. alot of tourists don't like that. but, that too, is a seasonal thing. generally, it's rather mild year round. as your well aware, because I remember your project you did. DH & I were so impressed that someone as far away as you are, could put up so much information like you did. better than the locals. LOL
I sent you a couple of emails, & they are kind of eery. what you just said last post, was almost what I emailed you???
I think know that you got your treadmill, you can quickly get back on track with your weight loss goals.;)
I have to email you again. LOL hope I don't drive you crazy with the emails.
I'll post my spring flowers pictures on my next show & tell. I'll wait till they get alittle nicer looking.
as for raking leaves, I don't like that much either. LOL. maybe the first couple of times is bearable. but, not after that!
my summer flowers are prettier. I love color.
Diane, & Annette, what happened to you two?
rain for two months straight. you get that feeling of needing to build Noah's Ark or something. & living on the equator, ok, that's hot!

February 27th, 2009, 09:37 AM
Lori got your email and read the article -definately food for thought. Now the tough part - deciding on a new rotation. Won't do it now though, I can't concentrate on much of anything with my back spasms.
The Vancouver site was one of my favorite sites i built.. I was just talking to my co-worker and he was asking me what my dream job was and I told him to build and administer websites. I need to get back into that. The only time I really do it - is when I take a class. It seems like that is the only way I give myself time to do. The class I am taking now - Information and Help Desk Support is not my favorite class or something I am really interested in. It was just the last class in the certificate program that I enrolled in that include a whole bunch of classes I did like. Because this year my motto was to start what I finished, I enrolled in that class.
I love color too. So definately post flowers when they start to bloom. My friend who planted my flowers said they would bloom every year but I am pretty sure I pulled them all up. So I shouldn't get anything this year. She is over in Iraq right now. She is probably going to be mad at me when she gets back but she know how I am about gardening - hence her planting the stuff for me.
As far as Diego Garcia go. You just learned to carry your umbrella. When I first got there, before I knew better, I would be like the Rain has stop and the sun has come out, but that lasted for like 15 mintues and then it would start to pour again and you are no where near anywhere where you could take cover. The good thing about it was - it was just rain. Very rarely did we get lightening and thundering.

your very talented at the website. we were very astonished at how much information you had on there. & not the same old, same old. it was great.
we have so much in common. I hate not finishing something I started too.
I am not one who can just walk away from something. not that easily anyhow.
don't get me wrong either, on I'm knocking on Cathe or weight lifting. I do believe it definately has a place in a fitness rotation. but, not so much as lead to believe. especially if weight loss is at the top of list. I just know from my own personal experience. & that article really hit home with me.
I don't mind the rain, but, when it goes on for days & days, I am itching for some sun. we only have rainy season usually in the winter months.
Diego Garcia reminds me of Hawaii. it was like that there. it would pour & be sunny in the same hour.
I sure hope your back feels better soon. layoff on the rotation for sure.
listen to your body Saundra. & your mind too.
Saundra, one last thing about powerwalking or running. it's not only good for weight loss, but, it clears your mind too.
& so good for your heart & lungs.
plus it's bone building also.
remember I told you I have this 3lb limit. I'm telling you, soon as I up the ante on my running, I can do it within a week.
better sign off, DH waiting for me. gone to watch the Vancouver Canucks kick the Tampa Bay Lightning's b.utts! LOL

Hi y'all,
Last night my neighbor had her retirement party. But I did get a chance to workout: Allison Abs from Core Solutions, Lower Body Sculpt and Core Cardio 1. Which cancelled out the wings and beer. :D But I did eat celery and salad. :D
Tonight worked late, Pam and Christie had a cocktails. Today was supposed to be Max Body Sculpt with Tracie and tomorrow Tough Aerobic Mix. I'll just do tomorrow.
I read on one of the Forums that Chalean posted, that weighted workouts tend to bloat a little bit more, then lose weight. I enjoy lifting weights but not the water retention. I prefer the instant gratification of the scale! :D
When we first moved in our house, I was out planting every night. Now everything is about established and I let Dave do the gardening. While he is outside, I am inside getting my workout in.
Saundra I hope you feel better. The older I get when I get a serious ache, I am out for the count.
Diane, I hope you are doing well.
Lori, I think you will like Rainbeau, even though her cueing is off in some places. And she has one vid where she kisses her feet. It cracks me up! I saw the clips of Muriel and Rodney yoga. I didn't get it though.
Okay raise your weights.....do you sneak in workouts and/or workout equipment?! I am so guilty. :D If so I do believe we are part of the vidiots club for sure!
Y'all have a great weekend!

Believe it or not but I have been busy cleaning up the clutter that has been driving me nuts around my house I have done 3 rooms and 3 more to go I won't do my sons room thats up to him. Then I have the attic to deal with but that will probably take me a while and if I get to I get to it.
Saundra I am glad I am not the only one gaining weight I haven't been on the Cathe site for a while I will have to check it out.
I didn't have a problem with weight gain when doing Anna's workouts or the Firms of course if I over eat I would gain, but this past week I actually felt pretty good about my eating so I try not to let the gain get me down.
I hope your back feels better.
Annette when my muscles are feeling sore I do see a weight I guess it is the bloat it has happened to me before so I wasn't to suprised.
Annette all Nat will do for the garden is till the dirt and maybe take out the sticks for the tomatoes that is about it. He will take care of the Grape vine just because I don't know what to do with it.
I felt bad for the teachers in my niece and nephews school district they are laying off 43 teachers as of June and it doesn't matter how long you were a teacher for, at the High school they cut the whole business sections 14 teachers. I asked one of my sisters neighbors who is a TA at one of the schools if she is worried about her job being cut, she said even if her job wasn't cut she was worried about others who would want her job and she would end up being bumped out.

Diane that is tough about teachers. The kids are the ones who are going to get the tough end of the stick. I know it is not part of the 3 Rs but today Business knowledge is almost essential in today's working world.

hello, hello!
we won. but, we didn't kick anybody's a$$. it was 2-1 & rather a boring game.
tell me if it's just me, or is this offensive?
ok, so the game last night, with a boss & wife of DH's...her & I are talking & somehow the conversation got to being online & the internet.
she makes this statement, " oh those people who are on the computer all the time are just lonely"......."LONELY"?!
eh-hem, I found it offending.
then that means I'm "lonely"?
I come here everyday to yak with you girls. I check 3 or 4 times to see if anyone of you said anything.
I hit VF forum, collagevideo, amazon & totalfitnessdvds everyday too.
I dunno, the way she said it. it was like only pathetic people without a life go online?
I didn't like it.
I find I learn & get alot out of checking out not only here but even reading reviews & stuff?
anyhow, I'm down to 113lbs. I am so happy. I feel great.
I worked really hard last week. ran everyday for 1.5 miles & then was throwing in some power walking for 25 minutes. & thanking my trainer Cheemo for his daily hour walk.
was scared to get on the scale this morning. had wine & a b.ig seafood dinner lastnite. anyhow, I'm quite pleased with myself.
but, I do know that I have a weigh in like this & then the next day it's not so great!? & especially after an alcoholic beverage.
Annette, gee, you sure can do alot of workouts in a day. no wonder you get sore.
sneaking in stuff. LOL, that is so bad.
DH always says something like, "is that new"? "when did you get that"? I give some lame reply, "naw, had that for ages". & of course lie about the price.
ah, it works both ways in this house! nobody's fooling nobody. DH is just as bad with his, hockey or golf equipment.
Diane, your a cleanasauraus! no wonder we haven't heard from you!
& you & Saundra are right. it's only the kids who are going to suffer in the long run. & they are our future? makes you wonder who makes these kind of decisions, doesn't it.
Saundra, how's your back today? did you go for your weigh in? or decide not to today? hope you don't get called in.
did you try the hot & cold packs?
if you change your rotation some, you should throw in some of your IFIT intervals, that will really burn those calories. it will be nice to change things up too, with say your Lisa Rinna's or something else.
Annette, I tried one of Rainbeau's (what a weird, but awesome name) dvds. the beginner one of the set. I did enjoy it. short. she sure is a beautiful woman. my goodness gracious. a goddess really. she reminded me of a young Carly Simon.
wish you lived closer. you could use my Rodney & Mariel's.
well, I think I probably have talked enough here for you all. will check in with you again & see what your all up to this weekend.

Annette, I forgot to say, which I think you'll like. On the Rodney & Mariel 15 min dvd. she says to go into a baby cobra. & Rodney says, "he's gonna do a teenage cobra". I thought that was cute. & figured you'd like that too.;)
