Hi y'all,
Saundra so sorry about your car. That really sucks. When we first moved in our neighborhood, there was an adult and teen gang that were after our cars. Then a few years ago, teens vandalize cars. I understand the feeling.
Lori, I have Sara, and I think I listed on Yayas to sale. I couldn't really get into it for some reason. You should be okay with treadmill. You might be surprised because body has rested.
I did Tortoise today. I needed to do yoga but finished Breakfast with Buddha. There is one section when they attend yoga class for the first time. And the main character says, upward dog, downward dog and dog dead. That section cracked me up!
Diane, hope you are okay, sending good vibes>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Yep Clemson won! Bowl bound. All I did was watch college football! GT won, my cousin played at GT. I was hopin' VA, MD, Auburn and FSU would win, but they lost. So next's week game, FL/AL game should be good, both are undefeated. And it is Katie's birthday. Do you think I can skip her birthday? :D Just kiddin' of course. !
Hope y'all have a great day!
Lori

Hooray Clemson!!! watching football all day, I swear you are the girl of my DH's dreams! LOL
Annette, what are you going to get Katie for her birthday? How old is she again?
does she kind of get cheated, cause her birthday is so close to Christmas?
my brother in-law's birthday is on the 31st of Dec & he says, he always got ripped off. LOL
Annette, you must be a mindreader too??!! I decided today that I did indeed feel well rested & was going to add a 30 minute run to my yoga routine.
you are so wise.
I think I will be alright too. I read a few websites where they actually have 30 minute runs & then head to the yoga mat for a 45 - 60 minute yoga practice after. (googled running & yoga).
will try it.
I had Sara Ivanhoes 5 pack Yoga Makeover's before. I traded them. I only remember liking the 3. I did not care for her Candlelight Yoga or Joy of Yoga & that Fat Burning one of hers either. I found her too young & hip. I seem to prefer the more traditional style yoga & something abit more mature.
I haven't tried her On the Edge yet. I previewed it & it looks good. (is that the one your talking about?)
I don't like that hip music with my yoga, like the Crunch dvd's. & I don't like the athletic-modernized styles.
Diane, where the heck are you?
I've already noticed the roads & stores, including the grocery stores are getting more busy. the Christmas bustle is only going to get worse.
Lori

well, I didn't run. I just didn't have it in me. I did carry on with a yoga dvd.
back to my old plan of finishing out the rest of these yoga dvds only.
maybe in 2 weeks when they are all done, I will be ready to run again?
where'd everybody go? I seem to be rambling on here by myself? LOL
Annette, did you happen to catch the PBS special with Rodney Yee & his wife? I really enjoyed it too. learned something when doing my back bends. have been doing it wrong with pushing my pelvis out. instead of reaching up out of my chest more.

Hi All.
Lori, I didn't cancel but after seeing a longer priview of the December releases, I am not as thrill as I was before. I got an email from Amazon that they already sent the workouts out.
Actually Lori, I need to go back out and check to see if they have started selling tickets to the non-canadian General public. I haven't checked in awhile. But I havent' given my credit card yet because tickets haven't been open to me.
I am planning on starting Cathe January 4 2009. I really hope I get the workouts by then if I have to push back this rotation I will be so annoyed.
Annette, congrats to you on Clemson's win and way to go with the Tortoise. I don't know when I will get around to do that workout again.
Hi Diane, hope you had a fabolous weekend.
I shopped way too much this weekend. Mostly online buying stuff I absolutely do not need. I am sure I will be sending several things back.
I am checking in with Cathe Crosstrain xpress - 10-10-10 for Sunday and Xtrain Xpress All Step for today.

Hi y'all,
So Saundra whatcha get me? LOL Do you want my list? I am almost finished shoppin', have to find something for Katie, which I have no idea. Katie's birthday is the 6th, 15 years old. Boy is she getting old! Andrew is easy, Clemson stuff, sports, football.
I was pullin' for MD to win over Boston College and VA to win over VT, but that didn't happen. I am glad Clemson won, Bowl bound. Swinney is going to be our head coach. If he can get time/clock management he will be okay. I had to hear it on Sports Talk today about the USC/Clemson game.
I did see the part of the Rodney Special on PBS, I was doing my twist wrong, move from stomach, torso and neck goes last. I thought his crossed legs were interesting too. I do feel comfortable with my legs in lotus position.
I am trying to get motivated to workout or at least get yoga done. It is hard when you have on nice warm clothes.
Diane, I hope you are okay, miss ya!

Annette, I am so out of the sports loop this year. I haven't even been paying attention to Figure Skating.
It has been hard for me to get motivated to do my workouts as well. It used to be I am up bright and early to start the workouts on Saturday and Sunday. This past weekend, I didn't get my workouts in well until after 3pm. Which I disklike pushing my workout further into the day.

Hi ladies:
I ended up having a nice weekend Thanksgiving was nice by the time I drove my Aunts home it was 10:00pm. I didn't even over eat which was just fine with me.
Thanks for missing me, its niced to be missed.
I didn't do any shopping but ended up go out each day, Friday I went to weigh in I had a little loss which was just fine with me. my brother's step daughter wanted to see my house so Saturday I met her, on Sunday the weather was lousy so my husband wanted me to go with him to the house since he wasn't working outside.
Saundra those late night phone calls are just to much aren't they. So did you get your new Firm's yet? Thanks for the Cathe info, Did you order the Calandar?
Anette I was thinking out you with all this college football on TV At least here they didn't have your team on, not that I really kept the channel on long enough to see, just kidding I did see which teams were playing not that I could name them now.
Lori Do you have Black Friday in Canada? or a crazy day for shopping like they do here?
I don't think I will be getting anymore Firm's either, When Anna was putting the Firm's out I didn't want to miss any of them.
No Christmas shopping yet I have some Birthday's first.
Annette my nephew's birthday is the 5th of December he is only going to be 12 though.
I didn't workout over the weekend but did Maxium Body shaping today plus 40 minutes of walking.

I'm so glad to see Diane posted. I WAS starting to worry...I know, I know, but, I told you all before, I'm a worrier. I kept saying to myself, she must be having busy times with her sister or family. glad everything was alright.
see Diane! I told you! once you stop worrying about the weight loss & such, it becomes easier. I love your attitude, "I was fine with that". Now that's the right mentality! you got it now!!
our Black Friday here is Boxing Day. the 26th of Dec. (we Canadians aren't so stupid after all!? LOL) (everything is marked down of course, at least 1/2 price)
this is when I stay the H.E.L.L. away from the stores!
Diane, either we grew up or something, huh? (not buying Firms like before). feels strange, doesn't it?
Saundra, I think you've hit that same road block I did? I think it's burn out of some kind. relax. I'm sure you need a break of some sorts. at least the yoga is my outlet for the time being.
your new position & this time of year is part of the factor, I'm sure.
your car getting busted in, the elections, all that kind of stuff, makes us all go in a slump, sometimes. I think this is a way your body is telling you that it's tired & needs a break. to lighten up somehow. hard to do, we all have this mindset of we have to do more.
come New Year, one always seems to have new spirits & is more gung-ho to get life back on track. I'm sure when you get your Cathe's you will change.
your buying frenzy, was like me, with all these darn yoga dvds. I racked up the cc. felt terrible, well just alittle. LOL
Annette, Katie's 15 already. WOW. they sure grow up fast, huh?
that's this weekend, you better get your act together Annette. your running out of time.
it's true, you do learn something new everyday (regarding the Rodney PBS). I was glad I watched it. I was thinking, it would be fun to take a live class. never done it before, for yoga. have you? LOL, I just thought of you with Mr. Kest touching you or helping you into a pose & you melting!!LOL
today is Day 14 of yoga! yes, I actually did the rotation & stuck with it. no treadmill, no weights. I'm actuallly feeling great about it. & plan to carry on with it. my body weight has remained the same. I have 12 more dvds left. a couple of times I was trying to talk myself into going for a run. but, something held me back. see Saundra! I'm like you. I've somewhere along the line have lost my thrill of the running. never would have believed it a month ago. I mean I was so addicted & in total love of my treadmill. (I'm sure I will become bored stiff & ready for a change after I've gone through these yoga dvds).

Good morning ladies.
Diane, my new FIRMs arrived yesterday. I have planned to do them next week. I did get the Cathe calendar but she probably won't ship it until closer to Christmas. Glad you had a nice Thanksgiving and congrats on the weight lost.
Lori, I stay away from the stores too. Somebody died in a Wal-Mart in New York. He got trampled on. So even on Dec 26, I won't be in the stores but I will probably look online for deals.
I am really going to try to cut back my workout purchases next year. That includes limiting my FIRM purchases. The only thing I know for sure I want is Amy Bento new series, CIA workouts and if Cathe produces her Mixed Martial Arts workout, I will get those. Other than that I don't need anymor workouts.
Hello Annette.
I need to leave for work. Talk to you soon.

December 2nd, 2008, 04:19 AM
Saundra, I think it's great that you have come to realize or have become alot more choosier with your workout purchases. you learned or finally saw the light alot sooner than I did. it comes to the point where you know what you specifically want. I think it's very enpowering. I hated that feeling of being so overwhelmed by my video collection. & I seemed to have everything, including ones that I didn't even really like, but kept?
I did go shopping once with my DH a few years back on Boxing Day. it was utterly horrible. (he was looking for hockey shoulder pads, which he never found). I hate crowds to begin with, but this took the cake.
I had to work it once also & it was one of the worse workdays I can remember. all these wonderful gifts of cosmetics being returned one after the other. & the people were so rude, ungrateful & not at all in a very Christmasy manner. not a good experience. something that I can remember so vividly of how awful people can be.
another thing I hate is, that situations like these always seem to bring out the worst in people. (I did see that Walmart story on the news. sheer tragic. from pure greed).
I can't believe grownups act like wild animals over material things?! to trample someone over a stereo or something silly? something's gone terribly wrong with Christmas IMO. what kind of role models is that for children?

Hi Ladies:
I feel Walmart is always a crazy store to go into anyway, at least in my store it is always crowded.
Lori your good I would have given up by now and would have had to add weights or Aerobics.
My mother used to go out the day after Christmas and get all the wrapping paper and chirstmas lights.
Saundra would you say no to Cathe workouts also? I don't know if I could I still find her workouts up to par. Not that I know how this set will be.
Hi Annette

No Diane. I am not at the point where I can so no to Cathe. Where sometimes I wonder why I am hanging on to the FIRM, I have never at least not yet wonder why I hang on to Cathe. Cathe has posted some ideas about her next series of workouts. And I am already excited about them.
One thing she mention was Mix Martial Arts. Another thing she mention was doing an STS cardio. Looking forward to both of those programs.
Lori, my problem is I hear about other workouts and read reviews and then jump on the bandwagon. But do I just get one of that person's workout. No. I will get like 3 or 4 of that person's workouts and then wonder why. I mean - it is not that they are not good workouts, but they aren't really adding anything of value to my workout collection.
And yes Lori, this time of year definately brings out the worst in people.
Forgot to check-in with my workouts last time I posted. Checking in with Cathe Crosstrain Xpress - Step & Intervals.

Lori your good I would have given up by now and would have had to add weights or Aerobics.
well I can't believe it myself, that I've managed to go this long either. really think I must have it a wall of some sorts?
you know what, I really like how my upper body looks with just the yoga for strength training. I don't know if it's just my imagination playing with me? but, I swear I don't look so muscley. I like how it seems to be alittle more fleshy & softer looking. I tend to start looking like Ghandi or a little old man when I hit the weights too much. just my opinion. especially as I get older?
I do plan to get back on the treadmill in a couple of weeks. but, I think I will start off again on just powerwalking. that running did turn into something I am not wanting to do again, for awhile anyway. turned into a bloody obsession. too competive with myself. turned out to be not all that enjoyable anymore. abit of dread factor.
I'm sure you all noticed by now, I am forever changing my mind. sorry. LOL, I drive everyone around me nuts.
my Walmart is always too chaotic for my liking also. patience is not one of my qualities at the best of times.
your mother sounds like she had lots, Diane.
I raked more leaves in the backyard again. I thought the last time would have been the last? where are they still coming from? I swear the trees look bald? it wasn't too bad really. only one garbage can full.
do any of you girls get some time off from work during the Christmas season? my DH took off I think roughly 10 days or a week, something like that.
Saundra, I think you've just come to a point in your training now, where you've outgrown certain workouts.
I told you in the beginning I was jumping on every bandwagon. that Fluidity Bar & the Supreme Pilates was the icing on the cake for me. what a total waste of my $$$.
It is very wise now, where you are starting to figure yourself out. your at least 10 years ahead of the game for me. It took me along time to figure out, I don't need every single dvd out there that appeals to me.
& you hit the nail on the head, that is such a light bulb moment, of some of them dvds aren't really of any value to you, challenging wise.
I'm impressed with you Saundra. live & learn. live & learn, that's all I can say.
your talking & discussing it, realizing it. I didn't figure this out, until I got the treadmill last May. good girl.
not to change the subject, but, did you see Kelsie's Wave dvd is up for sale on Firmdirect? are you going to get it?
it is so mild here. weather wise. sunny & warm. wish it would stay like this forever.

Hi y'all, I tried Baron's Power/Precision. What a great yoga workout. There was older Baron's listed on eBay but don't have Paypal. That might be good thing. I noticed it few weeks ago at a higher price but no paypal.
My twists did improve, and moving from the hip gets you deeper in the twists.
Diane, glad you are back....we miss ya. You must have sent good vibes when thinkin' about me, glad Clemson won. We needed to win to be bowl eligible. Yep Katie will be 15. Andrew is 12. He is going to a birthday party at a USC basketball game. Katie is going to the movies and Andrew to basketball game. PURE BLISS!
Lori, I think our bodies kinda of rest during the cold months like hibernation thus the yoga. If you are like me I hate taking off my nice warm clothes to put on my workout clothes :D....
Saundra, I want to limit my purchases but I noticed Rodney Yee's weight glove yoga set is on sale. BUT ohhh so tempted.
There was another shoting at a Kmart somewhere. I really don't like to go shopping that much. I have to be in a mood. Still need to go and Katie's book, Twilight.
I haven't gained nor lost any weight. Glad college football season is almost overwith, except for Bowl Week! I have to confess, I was awfulllllllly lazy today. I didn't get dressed until 2:00 :D...after having everyone at home last week, I needed to re-group, *** time.
I am starting the Old Fitprime rotation. But I am mixin' it up with the new FP/KB. Today I did Baron, Core First and new Fast Cheetah. That Core First is a great lower body workout.
Talk at ya later! A-

December 3rd, 2008, 01:23 AM
Annette, it is so easy to get into lazy moods but so hard to get out of them. At least for me it is. Core First is tough. Carissa had some moves in there that Kicked my behind.
I haven't been paying too much attention to news, so I have no idea what is going on in the world. Although I did hear we were officially in a recession.
Lori, I did buy Kelsie's Wave workout. It is really the only workout I wanted from the Wave. They have not shipped it yet. I ordered it when it first went up. I have in my rotation to do next Thursday, but I probably won't have it by then. When I ordered the workout, I thought they were ready to shipped. There was nothing indicating that it was a pre-order workout. Of course we are talking about FIRMDirect, but just in general if a company can't shipped my product to me within 48hours of ordering, I question their efficiency.
Where I work it is a race to see who puts in for Christmas vacation first. Most everyone where I work has put in for it. Because I don't have a family, I usually work it and then when everyone comes back from vacation, I will take the first week off in January. Which for me is nice.
Checking in with Leaner Legs and 3 final exams completed. One more to go. I will try to knocked that out tonight.

Way to go Saundra! good job!
your like my DH & I. when I was working, same deal, because we had no kids we would take our vacations when nobody else wants to. works out well for us also. ie; always cheaper deals, less busy. out of season basically.
geesh, Firmdirect continues with their bad reputation. not impressed. hopefully it will be worth the wait though. if you don't have it in time for next Thur, what are you going to replace it with?
ok, Miss Annette. you lied!!!!:p I ran 2.5 miles today & I was croaking!
I followed the run with a 70 minute yoga dvd.
I plan to run for 1/2 hour before finishing up all these yoga dvds left. (forecasted till Dec 15).
I will say I think the running first warmed up my body for the yoga stretches. seemed like I was looser?
I think I lost ground abit from the hiatus off of running.
crm549
December 3rd, 2008, 09:03 AM
Lori, Yep that is why I like. Also it is usually crazy the first week when everyone comes back so it is nice to be off.
I am not sure what I am going to replace it with yet. I might move one of the Ilaria's workouts into that spot or maybe one of the Patrick Goudeau's workouts.
Next week my rotation is supposed to be:
Saturday - Tracie Long Core Strength
Sunday - Tracie Long Core Cardio
Monday - The FIRM 500 Calorie Workout
Tuesday - The FIRM Get Chisel'd
Wedesday - The FIRM Power Half Hour
Thursday - The FIRM Wave - Rock It off Cardio
Friday - Rest
When your body is warmer you always stretch better. When I used to get up and run each Sunday, I would try to follow it by a stretch tape when I got home. My body felt so much better afterwards.
70 minutes of Yoga. I don't know if I would have the patience. Do you have your favorites yet (yoga dvds) or is it still to early to tell?

Annette:
You did all those workouts today? How long were you working out for?
Enjoy you quite time.
I didn't hear about the K-mart shotting but then I haven't been watching the news either and people wonder why they start getting checked at the door, I think buisnesses are going to have to do something with all this violence going on.
Saundra you will have to let me know how you liked Kelsie's wave workout.
Boy after seeing all of everyones workouts I think I am just lazier than you all.
How do you think you did on your exams?
Lori when I stop doing Cathe for a while the same thing happens to me I barely can make it through the workout without stopping. 70 minutes is too long for me also, but than 70 minutes of any workouts is to long for me I get antzy.
Thats why I love Cathe's premixes.
No workout today no time.
Diane
Lori
December 3rd, 2008, 01:57 PM
I thought 70 minutes was going to be too long for me also. thought I might start watching the clock. but it wasn't. it was a fairly busy yoga workout.
& yes Saundra, this Barbara Benagh has been one of my favorites so far. (I did her 70 minute session today & am going to do another 70 minute session of hers tomorrow).
I love her voice. she is very calming & I'm really liking her alot. I think I read she's from Boston? I bought 3 of her dvds & she's the right speed for me.
she just has this gentleness about her. & she seems like she would be a nice person to sit & have some ice tea with? LOL I just like her so much for some reason. you know when you have that instant like about someone? I like her best.
so far I've been very lucky on liking all of the yoga purchases. there was that one I ended up giving a second try. it's ok. (Stacy McCarthy, she reminds me of a blonde Karen Voight) would rank it lower on the list. but, it's not a strike out.
one last thing, & I promise I'll stop rambling on about the yoga. but, I noticed my triceps looked pretty good. they were sore in the beginning, so I knew they were getting 'hit' differently than from my usual stuff.
I just love that feeling when you feel results. you know what I mean.
that's where we can get into, our earlier discussions of some of 'our' dvds we know are doing a whole lot for us anymore.
Saundra, your right! that was a very good point! the first week back is a bad work week. everyone is strung out from the holidays & reality sets back in. LOL
& nothing goes right that week.
Saundra, you must post after you do those new Firms. very curious of that rotation.
have you tried any of your new Patricks or Ilarias yet? or will this be your first go at them?
Saundra, you do feel better after the stretches, huh? I must admit, before these yoga dvds, I was short on stretching after running. In the beginning I would get major shin splints. my calves, quads & hamstrings would complain for days later. my DH would keep telling me, I need to stretch more.
Diane, don't feel lazy. I just finished a 2 week yoga only stint. that isn't exactly back breaking. Annette was right though. I do feel well rested.
besides, you have to remember, you all are working still. burning up alot more calories than me, I'm sure.
after 10 minutes into my run, I thought I was going to have one of those side stitches. I actually felt better, got my second wind so to speak after 1.5 miles. my face was beet red after 30 minutes though.
not really liking the sweatiness on the yoga mat, right after running. I thought about changing again but didn't. & you know how your body temperature drops when doing yoga, until I got into the harder poses, I was chilly.
interesting, all this. been quite a different past 2 weeks, fitness-wise for me.
really broke out of the box, for me. such a cardio & weight fiend. who knew?
now I was thinking the same thing back there, Annette. surely to gawd you did not do all those workouts in one session? maybe you did, & no darn wonder you didn't get out of your pj's till the afternoon yesterday!?!?
Annette's probaby curled up on the couch exhausted?

December 3rd, 2008, 09:06 PM
Hi y'all,
Saundra crossing weights that you do well on exams! I like your rotation. Girrrl you will even more sexier!
Diane every once in awhile I get into moods where I just workout. I think it is an escapae from housework, cooking :D But I do take breaks. I was emotionally tired from everyone being home last week. I am like Saundra, much rather take a vacation when everyone is back where they need to be.
Lori, I like Beryle, she has a calming way about her. I haven't tried Barbara yet.
I did notice my main squeeze will be in Charleston in March. I wonder if Bryan Kest will let his hair grow for me and can I do the corpose pose with him :D LOL
Last night I did Bryan's Tone and the new Flexposture. With the sculpting stick you can get additional weighted workout.
I think our bodies go up and down the fitness cycle. I need to get cardio in this week, so today is Fast Cheetah. I also need to get housework done before Katie's party. UGGGH. THAT is a major workout for me.
Y'all have a great day!
Lori
December 4th, 2008, 12:40 AM
oh Annette, I do believe your the funniest girl online! your posts amuse the heck out of me.
what does Byran Kest look like without the hair?
I think your right about your body going through the fitness cycle. because yesterday, I sure felt the need for some cardio again.
now if I did all the workouts you did in spurts like that?! I'd be eating like a horse all day. that I know.
I like Annettes "weights crossed". LOL a true fitness-fanatic if ever there was one.
I don't know how you all can work, have kids, plus work out?! when I worked full-time & part-time, I was not a consistent exerciser. I was way too tired.
that takes true dedication. especially Saundra getting up before the sun even started to peek.
Diane, did you pre-order the new Cathes also?
Saundra, is Cathe small? she looks tiny. but, very built. do you know how old she is? & Annette, you've also have gone on one of those Cathe trips too, haven't you?
I read at VF a few years ago, that she was very quiet, yet super nice. I remember reading that the poster was totally surprised & somewhat blown away that Cathe ordered some b.ig strawberry, whip-cream Belgian waffle. LOL
that they were impressed that she ate something that wasn't all that 'clean' so to speak. not what they expected of her.

Lori:
Yes I did pre-order Cathe's workouts. So far I usually do she hasn't fallen off my list yet.
Amazon cut the price of one of the newer Pink Firm's to 10.99 I don't remember which one I did order it for that price I bought other things so I got the free shipping.
Annette I think you are right about the cycles I have been eating better lately and I find I am getting more out of my workouts I am not dredding them or feeling sore afterwards.
Saundra where do you keep all of your workouts, I don't know how many I have but along with the movie dvd's its like I have dvd's all over the place.

Diane, my workout DVDs are all kept in my Gym area. I have two stands that surround the TV and they are there. Before I converted everything to DVD, I thought I was going to have to get another stand because the VHS tapes take up so much space.
And thanks to you all for the Well wishes on my exams. The thing about taking online classes is that most of the test are online as well and many times you can get back your results instantly. So far I got 3 As. The last exam fill in the blanks or summary type answers as oppose to true/false and multiple choice so I have to wait for that to be graded. I think I will be getting 4 As. We will see.
Lori, Cathe is small and she is gorgeous. I thought she would be overly muscular because sometimes she look like that in her workouts, but in July on the Roadtrip, I thought she looked really pretty and femine. And she is nice and was so patient with us all. But all of them looked fantastic, Lorraine, Jai, Brenday and Cedie.
Annette, thanks for the compliment but I will only be sexier if I stop eating all this junk food. I am trying to jump start my diet now instead of waiting to the new year. But thus far haven't been doing to well.
So Diane, you pre-ordered STS? Are you planning on doing it as it is designed?
Lori, I have tried a couple of Patrick's but got three more to do. Ilaria's workouts just arrive this week as well.
So where along the way, I have twinged my back. I think I need to give it a rest.
I am checking in with Cathe Crosstrain Xpress Kickboxing.

Saundra! Way to go! our little genius! honor-roll student. I love your drive. I need some of it.
be careful with your back. you better ease off alittle, you don't want to mess it up, so that you can't do your new Cathes.
ya, Cathe looks drop-dead gorgeous. I thought she was small. Cedie, I love her smiling face all the time! she's a real cutie too. your right, they all are, really.
I had a major binge on junk day before yesterday. overate yesterday. I think it's hard not to do this time of year.
Annette, I'm sure you would like Barbara Benagh. her dvd's might be too easy for you though? good for an easy day for you?
there is alot of value workout-wise on the dvds. lots of content. I really like how she is constantly reminding you about checking your technique in the poses. without her being too chatty or coming off as bossy.
excellent teacher. if you can get her in a trade, definitely pick them up.

Saundra:
I don't usually do Cathe's workouts as designed more of where the time lengths of her workouts fit into my schedule. I don't usually plan workouts to far ahead because sometimes things get in the way and I have to compromise.
So I will see when I get them where I am going to fit them in.
Oh great Job 3 A's I think the most A's I ever got was in math. Everything else I had to work at.
I hope your back is O.K. I usually can get away with doing some of Cathe's lower back work (during the ab sections) to get rid of the twinges.
Lori did going on the treadmill get you hungry again?
Today's workout was Better Buns even though I think it's a full body workout.
about 20 minutes of walking

Hi y'all.
Lori you are an enabler, and I am not reading 'bout anymore workouts. My blinders are on :D LOL I haven't been on a Cathe trip.
Diane someone on eBay had a really neat idea. They took a large spice rack and put it on the door. I have my workouts on a bookshelf. But I have my other workouts in plastic drawers.
Saundra, glad good vibes helped>>>>>>>>>>>>it went back to school with 2 children,3 if you count Dave. Glad you did well!
Today I did Baron Baptiste. Dave came in just as I finished Baron, now I have to do Steamin' Cardio.
Bryan looks okay w/o hair, but something about long flowing Fabio hair turns me on. Now you know my deep dark secret!
Y'all have a great night!

Diane, I usually cut her workouts short too. I was really hoping that the STS workouts will be under an hour, but several of them go into the 65 to 68 minute range. So those particular workouts are probably going to get shorten. Amy Bento has been making longer and longer workouts too.
I sometimes thinks these instructors think that have to you an extremely long workout so you think the value is good. I just want to say enough already. But I won't say it too loud because I actually believe the FIRM could stand to lengthen many of their newest workouts. Although, 500 Calories workout is an hour.
And I agree I think of Better Body & Buns as a total body workout too.
Annette, I need to follow your lead. No more workouts. Did you get or are you getting the December FIRM releases?
Lori, did you end up cancelling your December FIRM releases?

Lori did going on the treadmill get you hungry again?
yes, yes, & yes!:( I believe it was the cause of me over eating yesterday.
I made sure to keep it under control today.
I have got down to my target weight, & I am determined to keep it here.
that running makes me so hungry. but, the yoga is just not enough for me. it would be if I was a better yogi, but I'm not. I need the cardio for my heart & lungs. I think?
Saundra, I did cancel my preorders of Firms. that's why I'm so curious what you think of them. please tell me their horrible & I'm not missing out. ;)
Annette, for some reason I thought you went on Cathe trips too. I won't enable, I know where your coming from. my budget is blown on all these yoga dvds. no more for me either.
ahh, Katie. to be 15 again. Annette, you do realize she's driving age next year?!

December 5th, 2008, 03:56 AM
ok, so I'm a b.ig-fat liar!
I picked up 6 more yoga dvds:
Yoga Slim
Yoga Total Body Makeover
Yogini Workout
Yoga Dance Fusion
Yoga Body Sculpt
the new 10 Minute Solution Yoga
I am sooooo into yoga now. I just love how my body has responded to it. at the present moment, I don't see myself lifting weights anymore. for my bodytype, I think running with yoga is my best bet.
I ran this morning & it was a really good run. I felt exhilarated after.
Annette, I tried that Sara Ivanhoe On The Edge Yoga dvd this morning. It was the toughest one thus far. I had to modify on a few poses. what didn't you like about this dvd?
I rather liked it. the only mark I would give off, was the cueing wasn't the greatest at times. which in yoga, I think is crucial. I think the more I do this one, the easier it will be to follow.
it sure is an upper body burner!
anybody got exciting plans for the weekend?

Hi ladies:
A busy day for me also. Plus I made it longer by going the wrong way on the stupid highway I went east instead of west so I was late for my appt. and it felt like I was driving all day I know I used more gas than I would have. And the traffic lately drives me nuts. People are either whipping around you or you get stuck in back of a slow poke.
Annette I like the idea about hanging things in back of the door but I have so many coats and jackets hanging on the front adding something else would probably make the door come off its hinges.
Lori I did notice for myself that if I did a harder workout I would over eat also
but I like the cardio and I can't do without my weights.
Saundra I think Lori has us all beat with the Yoga workouts
The Firm started losing me when they started putting their workouts under 40 minutes. I would usually put 2 shorter workouts together but times doesn't always permit it.
Just a little walking today. I will have to do a rare Saturday workout tomarrow.

Hi y'all
Saundra, I hope you have given brain to rest :D! I have a few Cathe's and I prefer her CTX series and Blast series mostly they are under an hour or so. I did the Firm/Cathe rotation, which I enjoyed. I am also enjoying the Fitprime rotation now.
Didn't get a chance to workout today at all, I had 7 teenage girls in the car. They are good girls. Lori, Katie can get her learner's permit at 15 and drive at 16. She already has dibs on the wagon. She is lucky, I had Chevette with AM radio, 2 door and no A/C! My sister was luckier, whe had a 4 door, with AM/FM radio and A/C. I keep tellin' Andrew time he gets the wagon, he'll probably put spinners and decals all over it. :D
Lori, don't feel rained on about the yoga dvds, I traded my pilates workout for the newest Baron. You didn't lie, you were wantin' those dvds and the opportunity arose for you to purchase! I like Ivanhoe but I prefer Power yoga.
Diane, glad you were able to get and walk. It was a little cooler here today but the sun was shining.
While I was waitin' for Katie, went to Dollar Tree, they had the Sonoma Diet book on sale for 1.00. I should have picked up several more copies, they have awesome receipes in it. Gayle who taught at The Firm and now BodyFit, was on that diet. She lost weight on it.
Y'all have a great night, busy day tomorrow including watching AL/FL game.
Lori
December 5th, 2008, 03:01 PM
Saundra, tomorrow will be my 18th yoga workout in a row. I have 12 more yoga dvds left.
I wasn't going to order that 10 min/sol one, because it said beginner. but, did you see on the clip she was doing side planks & a couple other moves, that didn't look all that beginner to me? it had good reviews & was a decent price, so I thought what the heck, why not?
Annette, do you only go garage sale'n in the summer months? guessing not many garage sales now, huh?
is Katie a good driver so far?
Diane, I notice every time I get out on the road, I swear there are more & more cars!

Lori, I saw that clip and yes it did not look beginner to me either. So you have 30 Yoga DVDs now?
I got my Kelsie's Wave Rock Solid Cardio workout. It came Friday or maybe it was Thursday. Yesterday was a blur.
Annettee, I haven't worked out yet either today and it is almost 9pm. I think I might head downstairs around 930 and do something but not what I have schedule. I think I have Tracie Long Functional Foundations schedule not in the mood for it. I may just walk on the treadmill.
Diane, Oh the "slow poke" I think most of the are just sight seeing. It can be quite annoying. I don't know which is worse. The person that goes abnormally slow or the person that goes super fast. I think both are a hazard on the highways.
Not checking in with any at this point, just stopping by to say hi.

December 6th, 2008, 12:01 PM
yes, that's 30 now. (ENOUGH ALREADY!) I'm not counting Sleek Essentials Karen Voight (I did give that kit away a couple weeks ago). it wasn't true yoga. In my books anyhow. but, I will say that was what got me rolling in this direction.
I say go for a walk on the treadmill. it will be good to give your back abit of a rest.

Good morning.
I ended up walking on the treadmill yesterday. Don't know what I a going to do today.

Lori, what does your rotation look like? Do you take a rest day or is every day a Yoga day?
Saundra
Lori
December 7th, 2008, 07:32 AM
Saundra, last week I ran 1/2 hour before a yoga dvd everyday. well actually I didn't run Mon. before that I was doing the 14 day yoga rotation only. no running.
I plan on running again this week every morning before a yoga dvd. 6 days straight. Sundays are always my rest day. it's the day I do the b.ig grocery shop & then chores. laundry, vaccuum, all that fun stuff.
I actually stole this rotation from a few yoga websites. seems like a common yoga/runner routine? saw a few retreats where they have this. there are a few local clubs around here, if you want to do it outdoors also.
I still have 13 yoga dvds that I haven't tried yet.
last week was the best I've felt in a long time. fitness wise.
I really like & feel how I look for a change. go figure (no pun intended) finally at 46 years old?!
I am planning to 'turn up the gas' on my run tomorrow morning. planning on upping the speed to 6 miles per hour. see how I make out? I've been doing 12 minute miles for awhile & think I am ready to move up?
all my yoga dvds are around the 50-60 minute mark. the majority. a couple at 40 minutes & another couple at 70. I think I have 2 that are at 90. I don't think I will run before those 2. that's abit much.
I just spent $514.00 on groceries!!!???:( & there's only me & my husband?!
scarey huh? that's only for a week too. I didn't even get any real treats or anything real b.ig. expensive. I think I'll have to cut down on inviting my friends over. (just kidding, kind of?). I just remembered, $100 of it was on 2 toothwhitening kits.:D
post what you decided & ended up doing. how's the weather in your neck of the woods? sunny & very warm here. nice, sure wish it would stay like this. wouldn't hurt my feelings. all the mountains are complaining....no snow. not good for them.

Hi y'all,
No workout since Thursday. Survived Katie's party. They are a good group of girls. Saturday is college game day for moi! I saw the first 1/2 of the ECU/Tulsa game, went to sleep at 1/2 time and 3rd quarter. Woke up 4th. Went to eat at Al-Amir, a Muslim restaurant which has really healthy food.
I tried taking a nap,Sunday, but could not, time I got in the zone, Katie woke me up. Then Dave was singing, Andrew was coming in and out, so I just gave up.
Lori, I think Saundra will agree, you are a full memeber of the vidiots club! Can you post your yoga rotation? I wouldn't mind getting the Tracey Staehl one. I just traded a workout for Baron's newest one and Pilak. I think Pilak is my new man crush :D.....just don't tell Baron, Eionn and Bryan. Mark Blanchard is slowly but surely growin' on me.
I thought about y'all when I was watchin' The Love Guru. Finished reading Deepok and Toile's books. Now reading Clive Cusler. Oh the Dollar Tree had Sonoma Diet Book for 1.00, I need to go back and get more. Do y'all have that book? Receipes look interesting!
BRRR rabbit, it is cold here, 30's when I went to pickup the kids from CCD.
Y'all have a great week!
Lori
December 7th, 2008, 02:36 PM
Annette, just reading your weekend, exhausted me! LOL your truly a whirlwind.
nope, don't have the Sonoma Diet book.
post my yoga rotation? you mean list all my yoga dvds?
I'm just running 1/2 hour first & then doing any of my yoga dvds after. 6 days a week. then a rest day.
do any of you have your Christmas tree up? or lights? done any Christmas shopping? no, no & no for me.
I do have to wrap all the Christmas presents for my DH's Christmas party work prize/gifts. should take awhile. I volunteered. I really don't mind wrapping. It's kind of theraputic for me. I've done it quite a few times.

I am already at work as a I got called in 230am in the morning.
Just taking a quick break now.
Annette, I thought about getting Tracey Staehle's Yoga Solutions too, but decided against it. I really don't need any more workouts. I still have two more workouts on pre-order that I have yet to received and that is it for me until the CIAs and Amy Bento come out with new workouts.
I am checking in with 500 Calorie Workout. I like the cardio and didn't care for the sculpting sections. I will post a longer review if I get time.

I feel your pain Saundra. being called into work at that time, bites.

what 2 preorders are you waiting on?
stick to your guns on no more workouts. I make a pledge now to stop it now too. seriously:eek:
just finishing up my second cup of coffee, & already chickening out on the 6 mile run. but, I'll do it. I'll try anyhow. feeling tired & slow this morning. woke up at 4 & couldn't fall back to sleep. of course I was sawing logs, when DH's alarm went off.
I'll stop my belly-aching, especially after reading what time you went in to work!

Hi Ladies:
A busier weekend than I thought it was going to be. I ended up not doing any workouts besides raking leaves again
Lori that stinks when the treadmill isn't working hopefully its not anything to costly.
Lori it sounds like you can open a dvd rental for workouts.
Saundra I ordered the 500 calorie workout also I didn't get it yet though.
Super cold here also all that cold air from Canada coming down, Lori you really didn't need to send it our way. Saundra did you get your wave workout yet?
Annette I had a birthday also Yesterday was my nephew's birthday party not to bad with the eating. I have been avoiding the chip bowl when I go to my sisters house so far its working and I don't feel like I am missing out on anything.
How did you like the Love Guru my nephew loves it while I don't think my niece should be watching it but because her brother is watching it she thinks she can.
No Christmas shoppiing yet I am not sure when I will get it done.

Hi y'all,
Just a quick hello!
Lori, I have those Total Yogas....I could have given them to you they are vhs. Yep you are certified vidiot now. Thanks for sharin' your cold air with us! :D Sorry about treadmill. Do you have TRacey Staehl's treadmill workout?
If y'all need a copy of Sonoma diet book, just email or pm and I'll send to you as a present.
I got Baron Baptiste Foundations of Power Vinyasa Yoga from the Great Instructors series today. Haven't tried it yet.
Diane, Dave got a chocolate cake to feed the army, navy, marines and air force! Then Katie had to take a snack in and brought home cupcakes. I have done well, though just had a sliver!
Katie decorated and it looks like it. I need to get motivated to workout that is for sure! I have until December 20 to get in serious workouts, after that is downhill due to College Bowl week.
When I went on vacation I fell in love with electric treadmill and worked out with the weights. I forgot to take old Firm cassette walking tapes with me. Those are awesome to do. I did Abs one when I was pregant but modified some of the exercises to strengthen my back.
I found 2 other yoga workouts: Adrienne Reed, Feel Good Yoga (serious man crush there) and Bikram yoga. Nope didn't get, but they look great.
Hope y'all have a great night!

Hello Ladies
Annette, I have Tracey Staehle's Walking Strong workout. I bought it when I ordered my treadmill but have yet to do it. I don't know when I will get to it either. Bowl week, haven't they already started that or no?
Diane, I did get my Wave workout. I plan to do it Thursday or before that if I get the opportunity. Did you take a pass on the Wave or did you end up ordering it? If not, you are not missing anything. Hopefully I will like Kelsie's workouts.
Lori, Sorry to hear about the treadmill. That is such a bummer. Particularly when you have on your schedule to do. The only thing I have done for Christmas is I sent out Christmas cards. I doubt if I will put up a tree. I have a small 3foot tree that I have had since 1994. I usually buy one new ornament (sp?) a year to add to it. I will still probably go try and find an ornament to mark 2008, but that will be it.
I am checking in with 30 minutes on the treadmill and Get Chisel'd. I like Get Chisel'd much better than 500 calorie workout.

nothing wrong with the treadmill! whew! thank goodness. apparently on Sat, DH did some program on the highest incline & long story short, I wasn't waiting long enough for it to calibrate? whatever....it's working. I just finished supper, will run after my food digests some more.
not me sending cold air. it's very warm here on the West Coast. we have had any cold yet. must be cold from the east?
I have 36 yoga dvds now. who'd a 'thunk' that?
thanks Annette, but, I don't have a vcr anyhow.
we don't bother with a tree anymore. told you all before I was the lady-Grinch. just kidding. but, we don't put up a tree. we used to. years & years ago. we had a Siamese cat that pretty much toppled it, ate & puked decorations every year, that it pretty much turned us off Christmas trees. LOL
after the cat passed away, we tried a tree a couple times & we kept thinking about that darn cat! wasn't the same.
our outside Christmas lights burnt out a couple years ago & they haven't been replaced.
I think for me working so many years in major department stores the whole Christmas-look is not so appealing anymore. Christmas music droning on for hour after hour, would drive me totally mental.
sorry, losing myself here.
ok, hope that didn't sound like a bummer?!
Saundra, how's the back?
Lori
December 9th, 2008, 12:33 AM
I ran on the treadmill last nite. I ran the 9 minute mile.
not quite as easy as I thought?!
expectations were to do 6 MPH for the full 30 minutes. no can do.
it was tough to do for the 1 mile. I will have to gradually add miles at that speed. learning that it's not quite as easy when running to go 'faster or longer' as one would think.
oh, I just heard a coyote in the back. poor things. Sat morning one was howling early in the morn' & of course my dog wanted up. I always feel so sorry for them.
Lori
December 9th, 2008, 03:26 AM

My b.utt is just killing me today I don't know what I did during my wokrout yesterday. I am usually not sore in my b.utt area. I made a mistake I did Hard Core Fusion yesterday not Hi-def sculpt.
So todays workout did not go that smoothly today I felt awkward.
Saundra and Lori I better not talk about trees with you two I don't feel much like a tree this year either, but my niece and nephew would ask where it is if I don't put up one. We usually put up a real tree, we used to do fake but I hated putting it together.

I just was some disappointed?! here I thought I did it (a 9 minute mile) & didn't! your right Diane. were only talking about a minute. I'm just never satisfied:rolleyes:
it's good your neice & nephew keep you on your toes Diane. some of my friends & family think I'm horrible for not doing the tree-thing. I was surprised to read Saundra's post. here I'm made out to be the only one around here who doesn't.
even my DH thinks I'm grinchy. LOL
I tell him, if he wants to do the tree, go buy one. he can decorate it & take it down. & same with the outside lights. he can unplug & plug them in every nite.
usually shuts him up. LOL
seriously though, if I did have kids around, I would do it. Christmas is for kids. they need it, I think. It's a good time for kids to still be able to be kids.
Diane, a sore b.utt is a good thing to have. sore b.utt muscles burns lots of calories!

Hi y'all,
D-Cardio Step Mix is one of my favs! I enjoy that one. We have an artificial tree, my neighbor has one of each. I am too lazy too water plants much less a tree. Plus I planted most of the shrubs, bushes and plants when we built our house. I had real plants at one time, too much trouble.
L-sorry about the treadmill but you did get your miles in! That is what counts. Oliver Reinsch, is my newest man crush in yoga, Feel Good Yoga, tried to find on eBay but not there yet.
S-hope you are having a good day. It is sunny and warm here, fixin' to rain though. Humidity is high.
I don't feel well, my ovary is acting up again on top of everything else. So I did manage to do the new Strong Bear and Steamin' Cardio. I love it when Heidi says "this should be steamin' thighs." I didn't get a chance to do yoga, just as I was watchin' my newest Baron, my ovary started pounding.
Y'all have a great night!

If I had kids, I would put of a tree too.
The back is okay. Now that I am done with school, I am no longer carrying a heavy backpack and I think that may have helped.
Annette, I hope you feel better. I am trying to fit (but it is not working) the WHFN FitPrimes in my STS rotation during my Active Recovery weeks, but I don't know. Several are weight intensive.
Lori, glad to hear there was nothing wrong with your treadmill. And don't fret, I talk to myself all the time.
Diane, I rarely do Hi Def Sculpt. It isn't one of my favorites. I keep telling myself that I need to do it again, but then I will go and watch a preview clip and I'm like nope.
I just shoved two slices of pizza down my throat. I am probably going to be sick in a little bit.
I am checking in with Power Half Hour.

Are all the Wave workouts so short? I am not happy with the time limits of these workouts, I wonder how there sales did with this set, unless people like the shorter workouts.
I think I have your back ache now between doing those twists in Hard core fusion and lifting the stupid gararge door my back is not feeling right.
Boy Lori I would love if you lived next store you would be good for the motivation especially if I didn't feel like get my b.utt moving.
Annette I always have to watch the cat with the tree, she doesn't climb it she would probably get stuck knowing her. But she does like to eat the tinsel and it gross I am either pulling it out of her throat or her b.utt. she is always getting stuck in those plastic garbage bags, dragging them around her belly.

Diane,
All the workouts except for two are 30 minutes. There is one longer workout at 40 minutes and a super short workout at 10 minutes. The 40 and 30 minute workouts each come with express options.
What kills me or confuses me, is that they just release 500 Calorie workout, which is a 60 minutes workout and this workout does not come with express workout. Go Figure.
I have done all three of the December releases and I think I like Get Chisel'd the best. The other two were okay, but I didn't care for the sculpting segments in either one, although I like Power Half Hour Sculpting segments a little better than 500 Calorie, but I like the cardio in 500 Calorie a better than Power Half Hour. 500 Calorie and Power Half Hour will probably grow on me as I do them more.
Did you get any of the December releases?

I DO NOT like doing pushups in a cardio workouts. So that last 10 minutes of the workout was a let down. Or shall I say 7 of the last 10 minutes was a let down. The cool down I liked very much.
It is Wednesday and it feels like it has been a very long week already.

Hi y'all,
Diane, the cat must be there for comic relief :D! I meant to tell ya I didn't like The Love Guru, I thought it was goin' to be funnier. It was okay, glad I didn't see at the movies but from the library. I never did see The Paper Clip, I had to return that. I did Sophie Schull. That was a sad movie. I really don't watch movies that often. I prefer to watch FitTV or HGTV or whatever is on that looks good. Lately I have to confess to Desperate Housewives of Orange County. I can't seem to get the Atlanta verision. I really don't like reality tv!
Saundra, I understand about a looooong week. Thank goodness it is over the hump day! I am feelin' somewhat better after 3 Midols and 1 muscle relaxer. I was hurtin' today but didn't take anything. This is really weird, though I wonder if I have a cyst on the right ovary. Need to go check that out.
Lori, how is your yoga and treadmill workouts goin'? We got a liiiitttle spoiled by the break in the weather, it was in the 70's here. Now it is raining.
Today I did Mark Blanchards Core, but skipped the charka relaxation/corpose pose. Then I did Heidi-is-tryin'-to-kill-me-From-The-Ground-Up. That is a tough workout! I know I haven't the best as far as working out this month.
OH We.TV had an interesting show last night, it was about Women Body Builders. There was one that was 54 years old. She inspired me to do better. I hope I can look that good at 54!
Y'all have a great night.

Hi Saundra:
I did order the December workouts I just got them todya so I didn't even preview them yet. Oh I recieved your Christmas card today thanks so much.
One thing I have to say is I hate this Verizon Fios it is so friggen slow. My husband said he would call and see what the problem is, we were supposed to have the same if not better service than we had with DSL.
Annette I have to say I have the TV on I think it's more for noise than actually watching something unless it's something that I really want to see.
I have been wanting to watch the Dark Knight because we did see it in the movies but I had to leave early to meet someone for dinner. I tempted a couple of times and alway ended up turning it off to do something else.
Yes my Cat can be a trip she turned 10 years old today and boy it was like she knew it was a special day she wanted a lot of attention.
Lori we have not done much lately with the house inside anyway the town wants the outside finished first, a pain in the b.utt. So my husband has been trying to finish the site work in between working and the rain.
I haven't walking this week with my friend and only once last week.
I didn't give up fully on WW I really believe it's a good plan, I have been doing something else for the past couple of weeks so far I am doing pretty well I just know I won't be able to afford it to reach the weight loss that I want.
Today was an old workout I wasn't looking for anything to tough
it was Cathe's Home Step workout.

Annette, the yoga is going good. I just love it. I am so hooked now. the treadmill, well that's a real love-hate relationship, that is.
I ran for 15 minutes at 6mph & then had to ramp it down to a powerwalk at 4mph. I then finished the last 5 minutes at 6mph again.
goal tomorrow is all 30 minutes at 6mph. bound & determined.
hope there's nothing wrong Annette. you should go to the doctor.
Saundra, it's been a long week already for me too. thanks for your honesty once again. I appreciate that. it makes me feel better that I didn't order anymore Firm. do you have to work this weekend again?
Diane, you'll be so glad when your house is completely finished. you will think it's a dream, I'm sure.
make sure you post your thoughts on the Dec Firm's too.
I don't think I'll be doing a run on Sat with a yoga dvd. DH & I have some errands to do. will be busy out there with Christmas shoppers. always takes abit longer to get the errands done this time of year, doesn't it? will probably have to leave alittle earlier.
DH says it's not good to run 6 days a week anyhow? probably right.

Lori, It does seem that everything takes longer this time a year doesn't it. I am hoping I don't have to work this weekend. I should not and I am going to resist if I do. I am starting to get irritated with these people. They want everything done none. What kills me is that they always wait until the holidays (this time a year) when they know we are going to be short on staff.
To top it off, our subcontractor who were helping us get all this stuff done, got a work stop order on Tuesday not to do anymore work until the program can be reassessed. So all of those people don't have jobs at this time, which sucks *** time. And to make matters worse, they hadn't yet trained us on what they were doing, so we have no idea how to fix something if it breaks. Lovely just Lovely.
Annette, definately try to get that check out as soon as you are able. Speaking of which, I need to go do my yearly physical as well. It seems like there is never enough time.
Diane, I thougth FIOS was suppose to rival Cable internet speeds. So they definately should be better than DSL. Is FIOS that same as Cable in that you share the pipe with other people. Maybe you have someone who is hogging all the bandwidth.
Checking in with a power walk on the treadmill.

Saundra, sounds stressful. try not to let it get the best of you. this is the time of year, that brings on all that stress which equals getting sick.
sounds like the blind leading the blind there? I hate being out of control. so unfair to you people. that disorganized feeling is so not good for my personality. I get too frustrated. you know how some people are able to let it roll. I can't.
I'm the type who likes structure. hope it gets better for you. doesn't sound like it will though. at least not soon enough, hey?
as Annette would say, "weights crossed" that you don't have to work the weekend.
I couldn't run 6mph. just didn't have enough gas in me to do it. I started off & after about 2 minutes, ramped down to 5mph. think I best stay at that speed abit longer.
been overeating & gained a couple pounds. have to cut calories & tweek the portions again.
I do believe that running faster made me hungrier. that's my story & I'm sticking with it.

Hi y'all,
I was slap worn out in bed all morning long. I had a MEA done about this time last year. They found out that I fibroids and a cyst on left ovary. I need to get a lap hyster done, but while I was waitin' to get oil changed, I was reading about a new procedure just for fibroids. I don't want to take hormone replacements. I have hard enough time as it is to remember my name.
Saundra, sorry everything is sooo disorganized. I worked in a few offices were disorganized reigned supreme. I also worked were they were "spread sheet happy." So it is one extreme to another, isn't it.
Diane, we have cable for the computer. Plus a wireless, so that we can get connection anywhere in the house. I basically do my work at the kitchen table.
Lori, someone on Firm yayas has American Power Yoga, I have that one, that is a good one. Plus he is kinda of cute :D....not quite the man crush though. Comes close. I think your body will adjust with food and running. I found that when I did more cardio I was hungrier. I try and eat carbs before doing cardio and eating protein afterwards, like almonds or nuts.
After I got my lazy beeeehind out of bed, and did errands, I did Baron's Athlete Yoga and Strong Bear w/Tracie. I have Fast Cheetah to do w/Tracie, but like you Lori, just ran of steam.
Y'all have a great night!

Ladies, thanks for the well wishes.
I am sure I will adapt. I usually do, but like you too, I just prefer more structure.
I am going to try to use this as a learning experience. I am not fed up yet.
Lori I think 6mh is tough. I don't think I even run that fast when I run outside. What does 6mh equate to in term of miles and minutes.
Annette, ran out of steam. You did two workouts. I would have ran out of steam of patience way before then.
Okay my break is over. Back to work.

I don't know how Annette does it? plus a husband & 2 kids???!!
no wonder she needs bed rest!
Annette, I hope nothing's wrong. I feel the same way about taking hormones. don't want to.
Saundra, 6mph was only a 10 minute mile. I was okay with it on Tues. did 20 minutes, went down to 4mph for 5 minutes & then did the last 5 minutes back at 6mph.
this morning was another story. just couldn't. knew I was pushing it & asking too much. oh well. just listen to my body right?
I'll try again tomorrow. a new day.
maybe it wouldn't be so hard if I kept doing my 5miles daily like I was. but, then I got so burnt out & into the yoga rotation?
that's why I figured I'd better introduce my running back in?
I think if I didn't do the yoga daily it would be easier?
running seems to burn me out quicker than any other form of exercise.
supposed to snow here tomorrow afternoon. 5-10 cm.
looks like it is winter after all.
Saundra, BTW, what a great attitude you have. I love how you stated this was going to be a learning experience for you. very positive statement. I liked that.;)

Hi ladies:
Yesterday was just a miserable day weather wise, You either have people going super fast or ones that I just to afraid to be driving I am in between and get annoyed at both.
Plus my husband teed me off complaining about the car I was driving saying the other one is cheaper on gas. While I am thinking of safety. I took the car I wanted anyway.
Lori did you get the snow? We were supposed to have ice and that only happened for a little bit and changed to rain.
Saundra My husband thinks it just might be my computer that is slow and not the Fios he says his computer is fine so I told him to update my computer for Christmas instead of getting me gift cards that I will worry about using before a store decides to go out of business.
So Annette what happens with the fibroids? A Friend of mine had something I don't remember if it was the same thing but she had them lazered off.
No workout today yesterday was a Step section from Cathe's Timesaver workout with 20 minutes of Yoga.

Hi y'all,
Let me put this way, a loooot of things don't done housewise. I do tend to multi-task so I will not feel guilty, ie doing laundry. Plus I don't really have that "domestic diva" bone. :D
It is cooler here but clear and sunny. No snow. People can't drive in the snow in SC, must less rain.
Saundra, I hope your job gets better. I know how flusterating it is into you get into a rhythm.
Diane, the doctors want to do lap hsyter. but I want to look into doin' something else about my fibroids. I have at least one day a month that it knocks me out. Plus days that I reach for my lighter day workouts. I can always tell before TOM, I have energy. And sometimes I actually clean :D
Lori, perhaps shorter yoga workouts and try walking with weights every other day or so. You have a tough workout!
Well, no workout today, on the way to the church's Prime Rib Dinner. And on Saturday, attending a lecture about the life of Sofia Schol. One of the surving memebers of the White Rose Society is talking to the youth. I am draggin' the kids along for their cultural enlightment. I try to do something culturally once a month. They are also have "Rockin' Rackets" which I wouldn't mind attending.
Y'all rest today, enjoy the snow!

No workouts for me today either. It is my rest day.
Diane, 2 dittos for you. Gas/Safety. No contest. Anyway gas prices a fallen significantly. And a new computer is always nice.
Lori, the weather on the east cost was nasty yesterday. I walked out of the bldg without my umbrella. Lucky for me I had a jacket with a hood. I didn't feel like going back in the bldg to get my umbrella because it is a *** ordeal getting in and sometimes out of the bldg that I work in.
Annette a prime rib dinner sounds yummy. I just had pizza again. Next week I am going to try to bring my lunch.

A quite day today I guess everyone is out shopping.
No workout for me today but I was buzy with those leaves again.
Saundra I did preview the December releases Did you do Power 1/2 hour yet it seems like moves to cardio to weights is fast. Emily looks good.
Lori I am not ready for snow either, I want my husband to get the driveway done before it snows.

Ladies, I agree. This one lady I know was wishing for a snow day. I'm like are you kidding? I would rather go to work than have a snow day because it is always a mess and then you have to pay catch up on top of it all.
I had a very lazy day yesterda. No workout. I have yet to workout today, but I still may get to it. We'll see.
Diane, Cathe is now seeing she probably won't ship STS until or between Dec 27 and Jan 7. I am very bummed. I wanted to start STS on Jan 4. At this point I don't think I want it anymore. I wanted to do the program as designed but that is 3 1/2 months to commit and the further it get pushed into 2009 the harder it will be for me to stick to the program because I have so many things that come up as the year progresses. We will see.
Power Half Hour is okay and it does move quickly from cardio to sculpting and back to cardio.
Annette, Lori I hope your weekend is going well.

oh, it is so cold here! like a deep freeze.
the roads this morning were like a skating rink. I was glad to get back home safely. (went grocery shopping early, early, early)
it is supposed to stay cold for at least 10 days. snow again maybe Wed. we didn't get a whole lot here. lots on the mountains.
has also been very windy. afraid we would lose our power. so far we've been lucky.
yesterday I did run before a yoga dvd afterall. I got up really early (not by choice, my dog). DH & I went to the stores early & did some more errands, alittle more gift shopping for the Christmas Party this Fri. It started to get busier by the time we were finished & heading home.
just doing housework now.
Saundra, that's too bad about the Cathe's. I feel for ya. I know how it is. You have it set out in your mind your going to do this, this & this. & then it doesn't work out the way you planned. I've read a few people have cancelled their orders. it is a b.ig commitment. plus you got the treadmill now too.
well I should get my act together here & carry on with some more chores.

Hi y'all, it is semi warm here in the 50's, now it is raining.
I did laundry and started the dishwasher, cooked dinner, that is all I can handle today! :D But I did do American Power Yoga. I wanted to do Fast Cheetah, but....y'all know the song and dance routine.
The Thrift Shop had a sale today, found 4 new clear bowls for 50 and they were 1/2 off and Andrew a pair of jeans. Got everything for under 4.00 or so. Still can't find jeans for myself, dang nab it!
Went to Books A Million last night, they the usual assortment of exercise/diet books, but I found in the exercise section, "A Cup of Morning" series. 5.00 and w/BOM memebership 50% off. I didn't get them, though. I was good.
Oh yeah, I did see Sara Ivanhoe's clip on the Edge. It looks good. That might be on my wish list in the future.
Y'all have a great night and a wonderful week!

Lori, it is 60 degrees here today. I had to take off my jacket. I am definately liking the change up.
I didn't workout this weeked at all. Very lazy workout wise, I was.
Today though I did do Ilaria's Power Strike 5 and liked it very much.

Hi Ladies:
Saundra 60 degrees here also. I finally did Gin Miller's kettlebell workout Over all I really didn't mind it at all I thought it could have been a little tougher but then I am only using my 5 pound Bell. I did like it more than the Firm's kettlebell workout I didn't feel like I was always hitting myself with the bell.
Lori it supposed to be cold here again tomarrow I don't mind the cold so much it's when the rain comes and turns to ice that I mind.
Oh we made cookies this weekend and it has not been good usually I will have a few and that will be that, well not this time I had to physically move them out of my site.
So I am feeling like a *** round cookie.
tomarrow is Christmas shopping with my Father I usually go with him every year to help hime pick out gifts.
Yesterday was Fitprime Lean and today was gin Miller's kettlebell with 20 minutes of walking.

I'm freezing! it's only 15 here! actually it's even worse than that because of the windchill factor!
it's still artic air here! unusual for us here. we're used to snow sometimes but not this artic air!? yesterday it even snowed in some parts of California?!
supposed to continue all week! not even officially winter yet!
I can imagine what our heating bill is going to be.
too cold to take my dog for a long walk. he doesn't understand. drove me nuts yesterday. he was like when are we gonna go? when are we gonna go? I took him 3 times to the end of our street. I'm sure he thought I was 'losing it". & he normally likes the cold. but, not like this.
still carrying on with the treadmill & yoga. this routine has given me the best results I have ever had. I am so pleased with how I feel & where I am right now fitness wise. the timing was right or the stars were aligned, something.
yesterday & the rest of this week I have changed the treadmill to an hour & yoga 1/2 hour. a bunch of the dvds have 60 & 30 minute sessions, figured I may as well do the 30 minutes ones too. switch it up alittle.
when I was at Walmart last Sat. I picked up 16 more yoga dvds. I know, I know. I told you all I was addicted. I'm up to 52 yoga dvds now. insanity.
can you believe Christmas is next week already? I can remember summer like yesterday. ahhhhh......
Diane, it is very hard this time of year, not to overindulge. the good thing is, there's always New Year's resolutions.
I liked Gin's kbell workout alot better than the Firm's too.
Saundra, I had a long time ago, I think it was Ilaria's & a Patricia Power Strike (correct me if I'm wrong) 3 dvd's & I remember I liked them very much. I remember I liked the combinations & they were easy to follow. I can remember I was dripping with sweat too.
I'm the same as you now Saundra. that amazon has made it so easy, then going to the store now.
my DH's car broke down this morning, on his way to work. about 3 miles from here. dead battery. we did a switch-a-roo with the cars. He's gonna get a battery on the way home from work. always something.
my coffee's are all drank, now I need to get my b.utt into action.

Lori 16 - Okay I am officially calling you addicted. But don't despair. There are certainly worse additions than Yoga.
Lori it sucks about the car, but you are right. It is always something.
Diane, don't feel bad. I have been on the warm cookie and ice cream kick lately. It is one of my favorite desserts but I have been indulging in it a little too much lately.
Checking in with Ilaria's Bodystrike. I like this one too.

hmmm, awhile ago I was on a b.ig Ben & Jerry's kick? wonder if the body's crying out for more magnesium? I love ice cream. any flavor. problem is, I will eat the entire tub in one sitting. always gross my DH out. better to eat like this when he's not home. LOL
I had made 3 separate batches of cookies a couple weeks ago. peanut b.utter, oatmeal & some recipe of Christmas Cake kind of cookies. needless to say, their all gone now. but, their out of our system now. this time of year, your body definitely wants the comfort foods.
Saundra, hang in there! gonna be a long week for you. nice to look forward to long weekend.
my DH works till this Fri & then is off until the 5th of Jan. I'll be glad also to get through this week & then hopefully this bout of bad weather will be over by the time he has to go back to work again. I always worry when he has to weather the roads in these conditions.
I was glad it was only a dead battery when he called this morning.
Saundra, I'm glad you liked your last few vid's. It's always such a disappointment when you fork over the money for these dvds & they turn into mediocre ones. lately you've seemed to catch a few good ones.
did you get your Cathe calendar yet?
your right, I could be spending my $ on worse things for sure. they were dirt cheap at Walmart, so I figured why not. it would be one of those cases where if I didn't buy them, later I would go back to get them & they would be gone. or I would be thinking & wishing I should have bought them.
like your Cathe's. if you cancelled your preorder, I'm sure you would have some kind of remorse later. it's one of those decisions that you have to make on the spur of the moment.
by the looks of this winter, I think I will need all the help I can get to mellow me 'out' some. LOL the yoga dvds are gonna be what the doctor ordered. I think I will get lots of use out of them!
so what are all your plans for Christmas? going home? staying home? who has to cook? who has to work?
us, we go to my mom's for dinner. my grandma comes too. just the 4 of us. we also have leftovers the next day at my mom's. not my grandma though. she lives right downtown Vancouver. about 17km out from us.
my brother lives up north. (thank gawd, I'm sorry, but it's a blessing. when he's around it's nothing but bad vibes, lots of liquor, hence drama).
DH's mom & dad live farther north too. he has 3 brothers & 1 sis who live close to us, but, he's really only close to one brother. the other sister lives in Saskatchewan.
where'd Annette get to? how you doing Annette?

Lori, I have the on-call pager the week following Xmas and I volunteered to be on Standby for Xmas day. So I will be hanging out at home hoping that I don't get called.
And no I am not going to cancel my Cathe even though I am irritated. The problem is I am thinking about ordering Chalean Xtreme programs but I am trying to resist. I will probably end up ordering it anyway. At least that program I will have by the new year and there are worse things to spend my money on right? We will see. I am still holding out.
I did get my Cathe calendar and my two Kelly workouts. So as of now, unless I ordered Chalean Xtreme I have all the workouts that I have ordered except for Cathe STS.
Lori most of my DVDs I like. The only ones I really disliked to the point of disgust were the Star Trainers. For some reason they irritated me alot . I gave those away by the way.
The FIRM. I don't really dislike FIRM workouts so much as I am disappointed by them. And that is just because I want them to be something they no longer are.
Well my lunch break is almost over and I need to get back to work.
Will chat later.

well, DH told me at suppertime that he too might have to go to work next week.
that's exactly how I felt about the Firms. I like them, well enough. but, like isn't really good enough for me anymore.
so you gave away the Star Trainers, huh.
I think you should get the Chalean's. then for sure you will have something ready to go, until you get your Cathe's & are ready to commit to those.
you better not wait too long, or you won't get them in time.;)
Diane, I raked 5 more garbage containers of leaves! I swear they are growing out of the ground now! no, most of them blew into my yard from my neighbours. It was so cold, but, I've been trying to keep my poor dog amused for short periods outdoors. the little guy loves his walks, & he can't figure out why I'm not taking him for a long one.
supposed to snow tonite & tomorrow. then turn to sunshine again. still freezing temperatures. another dump of snow forecasted for Sunday. long range of 10 more days of ridiculously below normal temperatures here.

Hi Saundra:
When did you get your Calendar? I didn't get mine yet, last year someone else got mine and happened to drop it off at my house. I hope I don't have the same problem this year especially since she only took orders by a certain date.
I hope she took into consideration mailing errrors.
I agree with you about being disappointed with the Firms even though I like a couple of them. What bugs me the most is the lengths of some of the workouts they are just to darn short.
Lori it is a little snowy here now not as cold as you though.
The town finally vacuumed up our leaves even though there is a whole bunch more in front of my house. I will have to pick them up and throw them in the garden.
Did you get a heavier Kettlebell or was it Saundra? I am thinking of getting one.
I think my hubby is getting me a new Lap top even though this seems to be working pretty good the past couple of days for a while there is was running to slow I could hardly use it.
I got my husband a Gps for for Christmas and in the store today he was looking at them and I just want to say get away from them, I got you one. He better not show up with one. I bought him one two years a ago and someone stole it and stupid me got the extended waranntee which ended up being wasted money.
Hi Annettee hope all is well.
No workout today but a bunch of Christmas shopping from 9 am to 8 pm I am going to be tired tomarrow.

Lori and Diane, my county has yet to come pick up our leaves and it had been at least 3 weeks now since I put my bag out and some of my neighbors had there stuff out before me and it is still there. Annoying... I may have to end up calling the County,
No snow here, but lots and lots of rain.
Lori I gave the Star Trainers away to a co-worker. She was looking for ab and strength workout and she was just starting out. I also gave her my Walk Away The Pounds. She seem to like those.
Diane, my Calendar came yesterday. The only noticable difference is that the pictures are larger and they are of STS.
My work had a auction of old electronic equipment. They auction off monitors, keyboards and laptops. I got a laptop for a $1. It didn't have an operating system so I have to put that on myself, but I thought it was a good deal for a dollar. It came with a case and mouse as well.
Maybe Annette is taking a vacation. I haven't seen her posting at other sites either.

well, we all know Annette certainly deserves a mini-vacation! that girl is a whirlwind. I'm starting to worry, hope it's nothing to do with her ovaries?
see what happens now when one of us doesn't post? except me of course. LOL, I have yet to keep my mouth shut.
$1 for a laptop & mouse. now that is a deal. how can you go wrong with that? that's like giving it away.
Saundra, that's so nice of you to give those Star Trainers & the Leslie away. I'm always glad when I don't like something & hope that somebody else will get some use of it. I hate & normally do my best, not to throw anything out in the garbage. unless of course it's garbage. (don't want you all thinking I'm a hoarder or something).
well, our city did come & pick up the leaves with the street sweeper. but, before this storm came in, it was unbelievably windy. all the leaves end up in my yard, I think I'm repeating my self here, but, we live on the end of a cul-de-sac. I sure hope that's it. I'm really sick of raking leaves this year. I think it's the most I've ever done. plus, I need a new rake. this one is pretty wrecked now.
we got snow. & it's snowing as I type. I will have to walk to the bank today. safer. my car is not meant for driving in the snow. It is about 2 miles each way. It's normally a nice walk, but, I'm dreading today. the wind chill factor is horrible. we're just not used to this kind of weather.
Diane, I hope you get your calendar. I didn't know you ordered one too. That would really 'BITE' if it happened again.
Diane, you are gonna be so tired after all that Christmas Shopping! especially your legs! lots of walking & standing. I wonder how many steps 'one' takes whilst Christmas Shopping. I used to have a pedometer. just out of curiosity, should have gotten one just to see.
do you have alot of people to buy/shop for?
LOL, about the GPS. why do husbands do that? it's like they zero in on or my DH has a habit of buying right before Christmas exactly what I already bought for him? they have this sixth sense or something. to zone in on the item & start looking at it. better yet, mine has said in the past, something along the lines, "that's something that I don't want". LOL....
catch you all later. I hope you get a new laptop Diane. then you can post more, like you did in the beginning. it's a shame we all didn't live together here on my cul-de-sac like Knots Landing. then Saundra could give her $1 laptop to Diane! LOL...guess if we all lived together we wouldn't need the laptops/computers.

Lori, I used to love Knots Landing. Karen, Gary, Val and Abby. I used to be such of fan of the night time soap opera. I also love Dynasty, Dallas and Falcon Crest. I haven't gotten much into today's crop. I think Desperate Housewives come the closes but I have only seen two or three episodes of that show.
Speaking up leaves. They finally today came and picked up the millions of bags of leaves. I heard what sounded like a truck backing up and peaked out the window and it was the a Waste Management truck.
I broked down and ordered Chalean workouts. It should keep me occupied until STS arrives. Not that I don't have enough workouts to keep me occupied.
Checking in with Ilaria Abs and Pushups plus. Woke up late this morning. I was intending on adding treadmill trainining but I need to get ready for work.

LOL, Saundra, I adored Knots Landing. have never watched Desperate Housewives.
the thing that I liked about Knots, was, it wasn't all about sex. & even though it was soap opera-y, it wasn't so farfetched. story-wise. sure, some stuff was way out there, but, the majority of it, everyday people like you & me could relate to alot of it. IMO.
& they weren't all rich & stuff, you know what I mean. they were ordinary people-like. most of them. same old, same old, problems like the everyday Joe or Jane has.
LMAO, Nicolette Sheridan & Greg Sumner. ahhh, those were the good old days. & remember Alec Baldwin & Lisa Hartman.
yep, that really was a great show. excellent writing. awesome story lines.
& Brian Austin-Green was Abby's son. the show was so cool.
& I liked Greg Sumner's daughter. "Tate". remember her? I always wanted her hair. LOL
heck, I liked everybody.
if I had to work, I would tape it. huge fan, too. never missed an episode.
guess you saw the reunion show a few years back too?
my walk to the bank was horrific. the worse I've ever done. I swear it's like I'm living in the North Pole now!?!? glad to be home & will be gladder (that sounds like really bad grammar) when my DH is safely home. tomorrow will be a nightmare for him. when the snow stops, more frigid temperatures coming in. will be skating rinks for roads. I really do hate this time of year. have I've stressed this enough?!??
it is a blizzard out there. what in the world is going on here?
glad you caved on the Chalean's. I think you did the right thing. when are they to arrive? they sound really, really good. I'm sure they will be a good fit, before you get into your Cathe's.
what did you think of Ilaria's Abs, Push ups Plus?
good that you didn't have to call for the leaves. bet you & everyone else are glad to see them gone. somebody else probably phoned & complained.
my bellyaching of the leaves is now going to be shovelling SNOW.
which I probably should go out & do. catch up with you in awhile.
wonder if Diane picked up a heavier kbell shopping today? Diane, if you lived closer, I would give you mine. not sure if I'll ever use them again?

Hi y'all, sorry I have been soooooo slack! Haven't worked out at all this week :(. I just had to clean last night, the dust need to be re-directed :D. I stayed on I26 forever and a day. In other wise my 45 minute commute was 90 minutes!
Lori, you are complete and confirmed vidiot! There is no turnin' back NOW! My friend just gave me Tracey Staehl's newest yoga workout. I can't wait to try tomorrow! I am so excited about it. They are building a Walmart not too far from me, a dangerous place for me as far as workouts and workout clothes.
Saundra great deal on lap top. DAve was looking for one for Andrew. Oh my goodness, Andrew had to wear a cumberbund and bow tie for his Christmas orchestra concert. He looked so cute. Glad he only has to wear a monkey suit for 3 other occassions, Katie's cotillion and his marriage, and perhaps as a best man. Those days are a loooong way off.
Diane, I should have given you my shopping list! Remember dark blue Volvo convertiable hard top. ;0) I have to be in a mood to shop, I have one more present to get for Katie, which is part of the Twilight series.
Weeelll, I am not gonna tell ya, down here in the sunny south, it is 70 degrees. But our cold days are comin'! My cousin from Philadelphia is coming down next week, I hope we can meet up.
Sending good exercise vibes>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> and oh Lori, Walmart has called and they know you by name.

December 17th, 2008, 11:52 AM
Oh my goodness Lori. You are giving up kettlebells as well. Now that is shocking. I would think that it would be a nice compliment to your Yoga and running on the treadmill.
I missed the Knots Landing reunion, but I miss most reunion. Rarely is it the same. Beverly Hills 90210 had a reunion recently and I didn't watch very much of that and I was really into that show.
Annette, we all deserved some slack time. I just don't have the patience for traffic. That is why I keep audio books in my car. Something to distract me that I can get lost in. Heavy traffic drives me nuts. Defiantley post reviews on the new Tracey Staehle yoga. I was thinking about getting it and still may depending on reviews that I hear.
I on hold with Microsoft tech support right now. It is 8:42pm and I haven't eaten since 1230pm today. Needless to say, I am hungry.
Alright I will chat with you all later.

Annette, I'm glad all is well with you.
your so right about Walmart. a fitness fanatic's dream...or maybe nightmare?! LOL...so easy to drop your $$$$ there on fitness stuff.
I am so envious of your weather! I don't know what on earth is happening to us here? scarey really. dangerous blizzard conditions still.
I'm afraid a lot of our animals in our forests will not make it this winter.
post what you think of Tracey's yoga dvd when you do it. I read it's really too long. I won't be doing that one for awhile. I still have a bunch ahead of that one.
90 minutes in traffic is awful. I feel for ya.
what fun you & your cousin are gonna have.
Saundra, I gave my kbell dvds away. I kept the kbells. but, honestly at this point of my life, I really don't think I will do any traditional westernized weight training. I am so into yoga for strength now. seriously.
I wish I took some before & after pictures. there has been a miraculous change in my appearance in just 30 workouts.
I've never felt like this fitness-wise before. or mentally. (hope I'm not creepin' you all out). I'll change the subject.
Saundra, how can you go so long without eating??? I would rip someone's head off!
same here with 90210. didn't even bother with the new series. too young. too skinny. not the same anymore.
yesterday I shovelled snow for over 2 hours. I thought I wouldn't be able to move this morning, but, surprisingly I have felt worse before.
I will have to do some more today. It snowed alittle more.
a vicious cycle. in the summer it's the grass, fall it's the leaves...now it's the snow.
Saundra, one more day? then your off? your job sounds interesting, huh?
Diane, how did you make out yesterday? are you finished now? are your feet sore?

It would be interesting if it wasn't so frantic.
I came in early today with the hopes of jumping right into this project they want be to get done and there has been no word from my boss if we are a go or not.
I didn't work out today because I came in early.
Tomorrow is suppose to be my rest day but I will try to get a workout in then.
Lori, you sound like you got a workout with the snow shoveling. I hope we don't get much snow this season.

Lori, you sound like you got a workout with the snow shoveling. I hope we don't get much snow this season.
Saundra
I'm sure I did (get a good workout). when I weighed myself this morning, my bodyfat % went down 1.5 %.
it really is a great upper body workout. I could really feel it in the core too.
my walk to the bank was great for the legs also. It's hard to walk in the snow. It's very icy & when I would start to slip, my core was straightening up.
I hope you don't get any snow either. it's good for nothing in the metro areas, as far as I'm concerned. ski lovers can have all of it. on the mountains, fine, whatever, right?
it's stopped snowing & is sunny now. there's alittle bit of snow left on our driveway & walkways. I don't know if I'll be able to shovel it now, because it's frozen solid. I'll try & see?
have you decided on what workout your going to do tomorrow? so today is your last day before your 4 day off. good one!
so much for coming in early, by the sounds of it. hope you don't have to stay late?
oh yeah, did you get all your school stuff marks back in?
Lori
December 18th, 2008, 07:19 AM
did some more shovelling. not as bad as yesterday. but, my shoulders & triceps are sore.
would rather rake leaves.
tomorrow nite is DH's work Christmas Party. hope the roads aren't too bad. it's quite a ways out from our home.

Hi y'all, I forgot to write, I love Knot's Landing and Dallas. Couldn't get into Dynasty. In school the football players were hooked on serial soaps as well as the regular soaps. The most popular were Days of Our Lives, Young and Restless and General Hospital. Now that is a trip down memory lane.
When we went to FL last year, my children were semi hooked on soaps, too! My dad worked night shifts when I was a baby and he would watch General Hospital.
Y'all, I went to Kmart, and they have 25lbs! YES. So I have to go back and get one. I was just piddlin' today. They didn't have any great workouts besides Leslie and Skinny B---. I didn't realize Patrick G is behind the workouts. I didn't get any. Wasn't interested in Skinny B--
Then I went to Goodwill, Thursday-Saturdays, $1.00 sale. I did try on 2 pairs of workout pants and one shirt, nothing fit. I like the books at Goodwill. Didn't see any jeans either. Didn't need.
I didn't sleep well at all last night, so when the kids went to school, I took a loooong nap. I did do Tracey's Yoga, Metaboost and Fast Cheetah.
Tracey's yoga. If you have Rodney's Yoga for Athletes it is about the same. There are pre mixes. I did the 42 minutes mix. Is dvd is geared toward more stretching, for example there is one for "treadmill", "kickboxing", etc. This yoga would be great AFTER a tough cardio workout, ie Firm Cardio with Dale, or Cathe's Imax(es), Step Blast or Rhythmic Step. I did this workout before I did my others.
It is not a bad stretch workout though and with the various options, you can also pick and chose which ones to do. It is not a power yoga workout by any means, and you will not hear, "its not what you do, but how you do" from Bryan Kest. They have a few yoga/sanskrit names.
Saundra, I think you should bill your boss for lost workout time ;) and it caused you metnal distressed.
Lori, be safe tomorrow and enjoy the party. You probably have great arms after shoveling snow.
Diane, hope you are doing well! Did y'all get a lot of snow?
It was warm here, I was eating an ice cream popiciscle. Yes you now may through your shovels at me.
Y'all have a great night!

It was warm here, I was eating an ice cream popiciscle.
now Annette, that was just plain mean! LOL
oh my, my biceps are killing me. & my upper shoulder area, my neck, my back & triceps. I hope they are not so sore tomorrow. I didn't feel all that sore this morning. it kind of hit more this afternoon. thanks Annette (plan on having a good time) I haven't been out-out for a long time. Looking forward to the buffet. I hate driving on the roads this time of year. so many drunk drivers with all the parties.
I have 3 wonderful zits that of course have appeared the nite before. LOL
they are all about the size of Australia each! what's up with that?
I used to be hooked on General Hospital back in the Luke & Laura days. & Blackie/John Stamos. LOL oh yeah, & Demi Moore.
your right Annette, does bring back memories.
I loved Noah/Rick Springfield. & Bobbi...speaking of Rick Springfield, he still looks hot for an old guy!
I also used to love All My Children too. high school days. Jen & Greg &Tad. LMAO now.
gawd, Susan Lucci still looks the same?!
how come I look older & she doesn't?
oh heck, I watched the Young & The Restless too. loved Nicki & Victor Newman. & Jack.
what was the one with Chandler. was that Y&R too?
so many now, everyone is getting mixed up in my mind.
full-time jobs pretty much ruined the soap opera watching days. LOL
I didn't know Patrick was behind those. how do you find all this out?! very interesting.
did you buy any books from the Goodwill?
thanks for the review on Tracey. I think I will like it. I like the longer yoga workouts. sounds good from what you said. I've read mixed. guess you never know till you try it yourself, right? I won't get to that one for a couple weeks. got a few more ahead of that one still.
should we call out the search team for Diane? first it was Annette, now Diane's gone missing again!?
was this a long week or what?

December 18th, 2008, 03:13 PM
General Hospital used to be my all time favorite soap opera. At one point in time I watch them all. And I do mean all of them that were on at the time- All My Children, One Live to Live, Loving, Bold & Beautiful, Y & R, Another World, DOOL, As the World Turns, Guiding Light, Capitol, The Edge of Night, Another Life(this one was a religous soap) and Santa Barbara.
The only soaps I never got into was Ryan's Hope and Port Charles.
Lori, I normally get zits around the chin area. I usually used Bare Essential Blemish Therapy to try to get rid it.
And this week has been long but not as long as last week.
Annette, it is not warm here and I still eat ice cream. In fact all of my ice cream is gone. So I still have cookie dough left and no ice cream. Bummer
Goodnight Ladies.

Well Lori you were right my lower body is just hurting. I have to say I think I would have felt better is I was was doing my workouts. I think the stretching helps a lot.
I used to watch Knots landing also. Saundra I watched all of those shows to. I didn't get my Calendar yet, I am waiting to see.
Annette I will pack one up and ship it to you.
Lori I didn't ge the heavier kettlebell I actually forgot. I haven't done a workout since Tuesday I started with some Yoga this morning I just needed it.
The kids have off today I am getting hounded right now as I type, No snow yet but we are supposed to get 6 to 12 inches I guess we will see.

Saundra, you recommend BE blemish therapy then? I used to be really into BE. especially in the summer months. love their eyeshadows.
I stopped using BE a couple years back. been wearing MAC now.
never did try the BE blemish therapy. I wish I had some NOW.
as much as I love ice cream, it is too darn cold here. It snowed in Malibu, & Las Vegas yesterday! there is something terribly wrong here on the west coast!?
still achey this morning. woke up at 4:30. so cold in here. looking forward to the run to warm me up.
I don't know why I haven't started to watch the soaps now. I could, being home not working now. when I do sit down for abit to watch tv, I usually watch Judge Joe Brown, or Judge Mathis. any of those goofy court shows. except People's Court, I don't like her. she tries to act like Judge Judy IMO.
she just rubs me the wrong way. (Judge Milan)
any plans for New Year's? anybody go out & tear up the town? we don't. we have this ritual every year. for eons now. we get a huge spread of chinese food (just me & DH) & eat that for 2 days. LOL
when we were younger, we went to a couple New Year's Bashes. never really cared for it. the parking, the people, etc., etc. plus the expenses $$$$$?!?!
we've had people over a few times too. we like our chinese food alone now. LOL...2 old fuddy-duds.

Lori,
Judge Judy and Judge Milan are my two favorites. Judged Mathis and Judge Joe Brown are okay. I don't watch these shows as much as I used to but I still like them except for the new crop. I don't care for those and can't even tell you who the judges are.
I just came back from getting my car service. So glad I went today instead of waiting for Monday. Even though I was there much longer than antipated but the good new was I didn't have to pay anything. I had the 15K mile service performed and was expecting pay 200 to 300 dollars. But when I bought the car I also bought a warranty and the warranty cover the service. The service rep was really thanking me for my patience (which was rare for me), but luckily I took a whole bunch a stuff to do so it wasn't too bad.
Diane, I would call about the calendar. They shipped those out on Monday. You are not that far from New Jersey so it should not be taking this long.
I still need to workout. But I feel in need of a nap and some food.

Hi y'all, I got up waaaay to early this mornin', fixin' to go to bed. I did manage to do Lean and Beryl's yoga. It was about 70 minutes but I did a good hour or so.
Saundra, good news about car. It is a good thing you got it fixed today, next week would probably have been worse, since everyone is travelling. I had a little cat nap watchin' TV.
Diane, which yoga did you do? Tracey Staehle really stretched me. I couldn't do some of the poses for Beryle's though. She is very similiar to Richard Freeman.
Lori, very seldom do I watch TV but that Judge Andrew is a hottie. I also like Merle Norman's powder. I just got some from eBay not too long ago. It is expensive, so I use it very sparingly.
I made a casserole last night and it was leftovers for me, everyone else had chicken pot pie.
Gosh this mean o pause and not sleepin' it horrible. Send me good sleepin' vibes. College Bowl Game weeks starts tomorrow at 11:00. Got my laundry started so I can fold during the game. That way I will not feel THAT guilty :D,
Diane I
December 19th, 2008, 12:29 PM
Hi Saundra:
I don't know why I have so much trouble getting my calendar each year, I think because it's a different delivery postal truck (one that delivers the packages) instead of our regular postman.
I will take your advice and give a call now I have to wait until Monday.
Saundra there is still piles of leaves around here I don't know what happens to those leaves now that it has snowed.
Saundra should I mention we usually don't pay for our cars to be serviced we do pay for the parts though, my brother in law works for GM as a mechanic, he is looking for another job though I guess we will have to pay then. He did say his dealership isn't doing as bad as others they are still selling cars.
Annette Rodney Yee is my favorite Yoga instructor, when I am pressed for time I usually will grab one of his workouts because I know his workouts so well at least the ones I have.
My good luck football vibes are going your way
Lori we had about 8 inches of snow driving was a mess around here one of the major highways must have been closed and opened two times today.
When the highway is closed we get a whole lot of traffic going down our street.
So today I went sledding with my niece and nephew and of course my legs are tired again. We have a steep drive way so if there is enough snow we try to get out there before my husband wants to clear it. He usually complains the snow gets packed down so he can't use the snow blower.
I know my niece could have been out there all day but we did get over 3 hours of sledding in.
Lori we don't go out on New Years either, I usually just cook dinner, My husband doesn't even wake me up at midnight any more.
Tomarrow is wrapping presents and going to the cemetery with my sister and niece. Oh and just maybe I will get some of my cards sent out. And hopefully a workout fit in somewhere.

Saundra, I love Judy Judy & Bert. they are such a hoot together. you can tell they have such a great time with each other. I saw Judge Judy once on Larry King & she said her & Bert have worked together over 25 years. She actually made sure some way in her contract in the beginnings of the show, that Bert had to be there with her.
now that is something new to hear about not getting 'dinged' for more $$ on your car! how nice was that?!
Annette, my sleeping has been weird again lately too. I keep waking up during the night. hot, then cold of course minutes later. for this past week, I wake up, wide awake at 4:30 am...of course when my DH's alarm goes off for work, I'm so tired & wanting more sleep. the perpetual dark circles under my eyes lately.
Annette, I read at VF, that Patrick was behind the "Results" dvds. that guy is super busy!?
DH won the plasma tv last nite. I was trying to get him to sell it. we don't really need it. we already have a good enough tv (I think)....anyhow, at 1:30 last nite, we're arguing where we're gonna put it! he's knocking out walls, moving this, gonna take our fireplace out....etc., etc. LOL
today we have to get something he was saying to hook it to the wall. we need a new fire detector too. our old one went bonkers, won't stop. runs off whenever it feels like it. I did not want to go out today. the roads are clear, but, it will be too darn busy.
I won some of those little 'stick up pot-lights'. they are really bright. gonna use one for sure, under our stairs. great spot for one, really dark. storage spot.
Diane, I hope your calendar comes on Mon, so you don't need to call. that sucks.
sorry you have to go to the cemetery.
that darn snow. you know what, even when I was kid, I didn't like it. my mom said, my brother & all the other kids would be playing their hearts out, & I'd be standing at the front door, making excuses of "I have to pee" to get back inside the house! LOL
mom said it was a real nuisance bundling me up in all the winter gear, she knew in 5 minutes I'd be wanting it all off.
I really like Rodney Yee too. I only have 3 of his dvds, but, they are favorites.
umm...the buffet was good. I had all intentions of pigging out. you know what, the dessert stuff seemed sickenly sweet. not that good really. which was abit of a disappointment. I used to have such a sweet tooth, that was uncontrollable. I was saving up for a b.ig pigout on the desserts....didn't happen.
I had a glass of white wine, which was very good. LOL I haven't had a drink for awhile, so I felt it, almost right away.
nothing really all that else exciting for me to tell, that was my b.ig excitement.
Saundra have a great day off - FINALLY- what workout have you decided on?
Diane, have a wonderful day & Annette, burn your eyes out on the College Games!

Annette, sending many good sleeping vibes your way. Speaking of laudry I probably need to do some.
Lori congratulations on the Plasma TV. That is so exciting. I would probably keep it too. Lori that is cool to hear that about Judge Judy. I am a *** fan of Suze Orman as well and Judge Judy appeared on her show. They were a hoot together. Just two no-nonsense women.
Diane, I think I need to rake leaves again. Who knows when this set will be picked up. Maybe I will double bag the leaves to disguise them. My dearlership closed its door. When my window got busted I called them first, and asked for Service. The man was like ma'am we are closed. It was the day after Thanksgiving so I said "Oh you won't open until Monday?" He said no we are closed closed. We move all of our operatios over to such and such? Now at the time I was thinking "Thanks for letting me know. I mean you could have sent me a postcard." In hindsight I think they got the close order during that week. When I went yesterday to the new dealer, there was a sign welcoming all Miller Ford Customers. It's got to be tough for them.

Hi y'all,
Well we got rain and it has cooled down a lot. Congrats on TV, Lori. I had a glass of wine last night as well. The label had zinfadel but it was red. Diane, thanks for the vibes, Wake Forest won, I was pullin' for them. Saundra I thought about you, the game was played in DC.
I did manage to do laundry as well as take a brief catnap before interruptus interrupted me. I worked out with Pump and Cardio with Dale. I am so done.
I took a brief nap then went back to bed. I ended up takin' a sleepin' pill which made me drowsy enough to sleep in.
Y'all have a great day!

December 21st, 2008, 02:04 AM
yesterday was such a long day! we left our house at 10:30 am to & got home at 4:30 pm!
winning that tv has cost us over $300! seriously. we drove all over the place looking for this bracket to mount it. trying to find the cheapest one. Best Buy, Home Depot, Costco....then we had to look for shelves for the dvd player & the HD receiver. ugghh...
$$$ I didn't want to spend. unexpected. oh well, my DH was bound & determined to have this tv. says it was meant to be?! ((please))
we went grocery shopping after finding the stuff to set the tv up with.
what a freakin' nightmare that was!!! OMG!!!??
there was a line up to get to the cash registers. they were directing people on what cash register you were to go to. it was worse than Costco, if you can imagine.
we got a huge dump of snow last nite. breaking records for us here. artic flow still.
I wanted to make sure I didn't have to go out today. glad we got all our errands done. tomorrow's commute is going to be horrible for everyone.
Saundra, that is sad about your dealership. especially this time of year.
changing the subject....
I love how Judge Judy can make Bert start cracking up. I bet they have some laughs behind closed doors about some of the cases, huh?
when she was saying how her & Bert have been together for over 25 years, I thought, "WOW, Bert looks young"! don't you think? I didn't realize he's older than I thought he was.
same here, love her, 'no beating around the bush' stuff. tells it like it is. pulls no punches. my kind of gal.
the 5 garbage cans full of leaves I did last week never got picked up. I figured they wouldn't with all this snow.
I ended up dumping them all in the field/green belt beside our property.
we were lucky our recyclables & garbage got picked up, I guess.
do you go back to work on Tues?
Annette, be careful with them sleeping pills. I worked with a couple of girls who got hooked on them.
& I hope that rain stays rain, & doesn't turn into snow!
maybe you should have more than wine to knock you out? my grandma used to give us kids a s.hot of whiskey with Welch's grape juice before bedtime. LOL

Lori, those bracket things are expensive. But you definately want a sturdy one if you are hanging it on a wall. You don't want your tv to come down.
I woke up this morning to hear wanted sounde like scraping outside. I thought it had snow, but no (thank goodness) I think it just iced up.
Annette, is it still football season or is Wake Forest the basketball team. I never heard about their Football team, but their basketball team seems to be a *** deal. I know there name comes up alot during The Road to the Final Four or March Madness - I forget what the basketball tournament is called nowadays.
I am checking in for yesterday (I haven't worked out yet today) with Kelly Coffey Meyer 30 minutes to Kickboxing. I thought it was pretty good.

Lori, those bracket things are expensive.
SaundraI had no idea how expensive they are. of course we had to get the one that costs the most because, we needed it to be at an angle. the only spot was in the corner basically. plus, the b.igger the tv, hence the b.igger the bracket/mount, the b.igger the price!
the shelves for the receiver & dvd player have to go back. DH figures they aren't sturdy enough. we're snowed in now. don't know when we will get out of here? blizzard conditions.

Hi y'all,
Stayed home today and worked out. I did Bryan Kest Tone. Then Fitprime/Kic**** Fusion of Crunch Time/From the Ground Up. That Fusion is tough! My glutes hurt!
The over the top TV we have emits aloooot of heat, so I have the small fan on at the same top. I thought it was hot flashes until I went to change from dvd to vhs.
Saturday started the College Bowl week for football. Wake Forest is an ACC school, Navy I think is independent. Duke and UNC are usually in Final/March Madness. I am not much of a basketball person. Wake Forest was in Wake Forest, NC before they moved to Winston-Salem. We went this summer to the Movarian Village. It is a beautiful campus.
No snow, it rained a little, a litle cooler here.
Dave went grocery shoppin' last night at Sams. I wasn't gettin' out in that mess on Saturday. I need to go Tuesday to get Katie's book. I am leaving early in the morning.
Men and their electronics....as I say, men are boys gotta have the newest and brightest toys. They never out grow, their toys just get more expensive.
My great great grandmother on my dad's side, had a **** of whisky every day and smoke a cigar. She lived to be almost 101. So I guess it is something about a **** of somethin' everyday!
HOpe y'all have a great week!

you got that right. very annoying.
to be honest, last nite watching the hockey game, I found sitting my neck was cranked up looking.
this morning the same when I was doing a yoga dvd. it was like looking up to the heaven's. DH was mad when I said something. LOL...says I'll get used to it.
to be brutally honest, our old tv has just as nice a picture. our old tv is only 2 years old for crying out loud. but, no, you can't hang it up. silly.
DH says it was free. he won it. well not in my books...so far it's cost more than I would have paid. LOL
we've got about 10 inches of snow & it's still snowing like crazy. never seen anything like this around here.

Hi y'all,
Happy Birthday Saundra! There are no calories on your birthday and all calories consumed don't count! That is in the Gospels somewhere! :D
I hope you had a great day!
I have done cardio and gone to sleep, especially during the day.
Lori, our old tv was about 20 years old, it toook forever to warm up, worse than me. We needed a tv but not the over the top, hot flashing, producing tv. Oh yeah, last year DAve got a surround sound. I can't see and can't hear either.
It went from 70 degrees this week to about 40 degrees. BRrrr rabbit, that is for sure.
Today had a quickie ;) with Eionn Finn and Crunch Time with Susan. I love the dog in his yoga workouts. The dog is standing on his hindlegs while everyone else is downward dogs. Cracks me up every time!
Y'all stay warm!

Hi Lori:
We had more snow on Sunday on top of the snow from Friday. We went to our house on Sunday and I am thinking when we move how in the world am I going to get in and out of the driveway I think we had about 12 inches total also.
Whatever my TV is it came with a bracket we didn't have to buy it seperate, but then my TV is not that ***.
Lori What do you do on Boxing Day?
Saundra I did get my Calendar Saturday not that I have opened it yet or had time to open it. I was just glad to get it. I wonder what is going to happen to all these auto makers and the warrantee's that people have on their cars, they will have useless warrantee. I haven't been getting any extended warrantees on anything.
Saundra do you ever do late night workout? I have done late afternoon but from what I can remember I have done a night workouts
Well my eating has gone down the tubes, Saturday My mother-in-law wanted everyone over so of course she loves pizza so that what we had. So Sunday comes along O.K. A friend calls and asks can we meet her for dinner and I couldn't say no we have been getting together lately only once a year.
Today I ate stupid cookies.
Annette you are just a workout machine when the mood strikes aren't you?
My tree has been up for 3 days and still not decorated I said to my husband if I don't get to it, I am going to put presents under the tree as is.
Tomarrow and Christmas Eve are ending up to be busy days I thought I was going to get a break on Wednesday but my nephew asked to sleep over while their parents go to a Christmas party. I think I will get some time next week my sister's niece is supposed to be over.
On a positive note I have been keep up with my workouts even though my legs really want a break.
Walking through 12 inches of snow up and down the driveway really works the
legs.

Diane, I haven't done Prime Power Fat Burning in like forever. I actually quite like that workout. I like it better than Prime Power Lower Body Shaping. I think there are too many dips in LBS. I mean how many dips can one workout have?!
Lori with the schedule I work, I really don't have a normal sleep pattern.
Annette, thank you very much. I had a JVC that I bought in 1990. I just got rid of it last year. It still showed a great picture but it didn't have any of the latest audio visiual connections so it became a hassle trying to connect up anything.
Diane, right now I workout whenever. I think I am going to try to move my workouts to when I get home after workout which is around midnight. I am up already so I might as well do somethng constructive. I was/am trying to do my workout between 9am and 10am but I always don't roll out of bed and then I am rushing and/or end up cutting the workout short.
I miss my consistency and a regular routine.
I am checking in with Shape Transforming workout - Cardio Intervals. I have had this workout forever but this is the first time I have gotten around to doing them and I quit like the workout.

Nice to read everyone's posts this morning!
yesterday DH & I spent alittle over 2 hours shovelling more SNOW.
we have about 18 inches. for around here, it's basically 'the end of the world'. (isn't this how the dinosaurs were killed off?)
95% of the people around here are trying to drive around with summer tires (DH included). honestly, nobody around here invests in snow tires. we just don't get snow like this. only up north, near the mountains.
now everyone's trying to buy snow tires & there aren't any. a shortage. not good.
we're supposed to get another dump tomorrow & the next day. still with the freezing temperatures.
we've had 3 homeless people die in the past week. froze to death.:(
& car accident deaths also.
it's a mess here.........depressing......
Diane, we usually go & visit a few friends on Boxing Day. house parties kind of things. visiting a couple relatives. we meet up at our bestfriends & play silly games. board games. this year we will be house bound. it is too dangerous to drive.
DH is borrowing my mom's Honda Civic today. he needs to go into work for awhile.
Diane, there are no stupid cookies?! LOL...it's Christmas time for pete's sake. your allowed to eat a bunch of cookies without feeling guilty about it!!
what's the point of working out all the time?
binge now....New Year's is right around the corner.
Annette, that dog in the yoga dvd sounds so cute.
I'm pretty well blind as bat now too. LOL DH can't hear. so we make a good pair. he can see, I can't. I can hear, he can't.
& oh yes, the beloved surround sound. my poor dog. when DH rents his movies, the poor dog, hears helicopters, sirens blaring away. he hides. & it's always full blast. I'm sure the neighbours are wondering what's going on at our house.
Diane, that's the first thing I asked, when I saw the prices of these wall mounts! "how come it doesn't come with a bracket"?
Saundra, DH & I both used to work shift work. it's so hard on your body. not only sleep wise, but also eating. I feel for you.
I do commend you on still maintaining your exercise routine. when I worked shift work, I sure didn't.
did you treat yourself on any birthday stuff? what did you do? maybe just stayed home & relaxed?
Saundra, I find all the equipment made years ago, was made so much better than the junk they put out there now. all this plastic, stuff made so cheaply. breaks down in a couple of years.
& Diane, good point. I never thought about the car warranties. gee, once you start thinking about all this, it just shows how in depth it goes. I hope 2009 is better than how 2008 turned out to be. all of a sudden it went to HELL in a handbasket.
I haven't run on the treadmill for 3 days, so chomping at the bit to get on it today.
with chores & shovelling, I've just done the yoga dvds. still plugging on with those.
I think they helped some with the soreness after shovelling. DH hurt his back yesterday when we were helping the neighbours to try & get them unstuck on the road.
don't get me wrong. my poor old back & arm's are sore, but, I think they would be worse if I hadn't done the yoga.
anybody waiting on any preorders?
Diane, I'm glad your calendar came. that was a blessing.
Annette, are Katie & Andrew excited about Christmas? what are they asking for?
talk to you girls in awhile. have a good day everyone.

Hi y'all, just a brief hello.
Saundra you are welcome! I hope you had a wonderful day. I have worked out as late as 11:00 (waiting on Katie to return from field trip). It is different for sure.
Diane, you are working out and have a great support group. I finally got Dave trained to feed me smaller portions. :D
Lori, Katie wanted boots and books. Andrew a football. Of course momma needs and wants a blue convertiable!
I didn't get a chance to workout, went Christmas shopping and looking most of the day. It wasn't too bad, got out early.
Marshalls had The Firm BSS3/4, Stotts pilates and mat, Stott's pilates, Gaiam titles like Patricia MOreno, and the regular assortment of workout items, like balls and tubing.
Ross had a bellydancing/yoga workout. No I didn't get that. Tamiliee, BSS1 and a few others.
It is funny, how I graviate to the sale racks, workout racks and workout dvds. I didn't get anything for me today, though. But I had fun looking and wishing. I wanted to get more Sonoma books, they were out at the Dollar Tree. Went to another Dollar Tree to get another book I wanted, they were out.
I did go to Dollar General and got 2 nice clear bins for 9.00 and wheat crackers for 68 cents.
I'll talk at y'all later, have a great night!

Annette, you sound like you have great kids. (the apples don't fall far from the tree).
Saundra, I'm not surprised you got called in to work. & that did go by fast.
we're into our 4th snowstorm today. sick & tired of it. getting grouchy. feeling cabin crazy. LOL
DH has expectations to walk to the mall (about 2 miles) today. don't see it happening. not when he gets up & sees how much more it snowed again.
I am going to do Tracey's Yoga Solutions today. 1 hour & 50 minutes, seems like a long time to me too. I'm already thinking it's going to be a clock watcher.

Hi Ladies:
Lori Boxing Day sounds like an extra day of Christmas getting together with special people.
I am so tired of shoveling snow, if its not snow its ice, I guilted my husband into helping me shovel the ice off the driveway today I hate backing out into the street I like turning around in the driveway and with the snow and ice I have to drive straight up or get stuck. His thing is it supposed to be warmer today it will melt but I have to get out of the driveway now not later.
My sons Blazer had some heating issues so he has been using my Trail Blazer so I have been stuck with the car during this weather lately I would rather be drving the Trail Blazer it has both All wheel drive and 4 wheel drive.
Lori what do you usually drive?
Saundra I never worked shifts I have done splits which I hated and after a while I refused. Working out when ever you can good for you, I know some people wouldn't even try.
I haven't been keeping up with Cathe any news yet?
Annette have a nice time with your Family I actually just finished Christmas shopping just today I don't think I have ever done that before. My sister-in-law liked a Weight Watchers scale I have so I picked her up one.
When my husband would have dinner ready for me when I got home I did much better with my eating, it makes a difference, he even would weight it for me.
Anyone workout on Christmas day I do not, I usually go to church with my Father and his Girl Friend and to breakfast afterwards.
Today was Power Sculpt with Allie
Am Yoga with Rodney Yee plus an ab section from ab hits

SNOWED IN! SNOWED IN!
we have close to 3 feet of snow. now like you Diane, it is supposed to start to ice-rain. more havoc.
we've broken records here for having the most snow ever.
I am sick & tired of shovelling it too.
Diane, where does the shovelling hit you the most? mine is the upper back & arms. alittle in the shoulders, too. mostly my the entire arm, the triceps, biceps & forearms.
we walked to the mall yesterday. B.IG mistake. nowhere to actually walk. very difficult & dangerous. was glad we made it there safely. we ended up taking the bus home (was glad transit was still running).
I picked up some very light dumbbells (1 1/2 lbs) because I didn't have any lighter than 2. I have a few yoga dvds that call for 1-3 lber's. & some resistance bands.
the stores already had Boxing Day prices. guess their really hurting.
was surprised that it was still busy at the mall, considering the conditions on the roads here.
there were accidents all over on the way there & back. police, firetrucks, ambulance, smashed up cars. cars sideways. a mess.
we must have burnt a ton of calories yesterday. that's one good thing about all this white stuff.
I am planning on working out today. the usual...run & then a yoga dvd.
yesterday, I only made it through 40 minutes of Tracey's Yoga Solutions. I really didn't like it at all.
the sound is terrible. I do not care for Tracey's sister. she bu.tts in & comes off rude to me? funny, she's just giving tips, like say Mariel Hemmingway does with Rodney Yee in Yoga Now...but, they seem to have chemistry.
& Tracey kept making these weird faces all the time. almost like she was vogue-ing....it was all very un-yoga-like.
the music sucked & because it is pre-mixed it is so disjointed & broken up. there are long pauses with a black screen stating, ie: standing series, lunges, series, etc., etc. not great for a flowing yoga workout.
I had enough of it & grabbed another dvd.
I would not recommend this one at all.
I will try it again after I have gone through all my other yoga dvds I have yet to try.
it's very beginner also & bad cueing at times. which I think is very crucial for yoga (especially when your in a pose not able to look at the tv).
I will say the fellow who is instructing it was ok...just ok.
not worth the $ I forked out for it. not to me anyhow.
just being honest here, IMO...hope it didn't sound like a downer on Christmas Day.
whew! that was cutting it close on getting the Chalean's before the Christmas break, Saundra.
hope Santa was good to you all! Stay safe. have a good one!

December 25th, 2008, 06:06 AM
Lori, Dang It. I just bought Yoga Solutions becasue FitByTracey was having a sale. Although I am used to her cueing so maybe that won't bug me and no she is not the best cuer out there.
Actually I was happy to receive Chalean yesterday because my original delivery date was the 26th of December. I have started to previewed the system and Chalean does something throughout all the workouts that annoys me. She stops to coach the other members in workout. When she does this the camera goes over to that person (usually a close up) to you can't see the whole exercise being performed and the counts get lost. (Althougth I think they realized this because there is a rep counter in the lower right of the screen of each workout).
But I just find the mere fact that she is not doing all the reps herself irritating. She includes a DVD called Burn Basic which is a tutorial of sorts. So to me there is no need to stop mid set or in the middle of the reps to go off and coach.
I was thinking do I really need this especially since I will probably have Cathe's STS by Mid January at the latest.
I do like the length of the workouts which are between 30 to 45 minutes. Right now those times fit my schedule whereas some of Cathe STS workout are plus 60 minutes. I think the shortest STS workout is either 46 or 48 minutes.
But I rarely send DVDs back unless there is something wrong with the DVD. So I am sure I am going to keep it and since I paid a lot of money for this system I might as well do it.
I was thinking about doing Chalean for only a month and then moving on to STS, but I am thinking that I want to do the program as design or nearly as design. That means 3 months of Chalean, followed by 3 1/2 months of STS. That's half the year doing only these workouts.
Lori, so sorry to hear you are snowed in. That happen to me a few years back and it sucks!!! Shoveling snow sucks!!. It irritate me when people wish for snow days. I know that don't take in account the traffic jams, the snow shoveling, the mess it makes when the snow melts. It is just one *** pain.
But on a brighter note Merry Christmas. I hope you are having a great day.

Saundra, can you cancel that order with Tracey? you can have my copy.
I really don't like it. you might like it, Annette did.
I find it boring & very uninspiring.
I tried Turbo Jam, & Chalean was over the top for me. I think though if you did that rotation & the STS rotation, you would have amazing results.
that is a b.ig committment. if you get bored with it, you can always jump on your treadmill to break up the monotony.
be careful though. with your hours & working fulltime & all, I can see burning out.
you would save alot of $$.
I know, I know, the jerks who say they love the snow, are the one's who never drive it. LOL
I think the stuff's useless in my books. keep it on the mountains. if I want snow, I'll go looking for some there.

I'll do the 10 min solution one tomorrow. I read a review where someone said that instructor was from the pro-wrestler circuit????

The only reason I ended up getting the workout was because Tracey was having a sale this week 1/2 off on all her DVDs. I bought it for $10.
I am not doing so good on the pearing down. I went out to TotalFitnessDVDs.com to check out a clip of a video and they are having a huge sale until the 31st. I bought 7 DVDs. A couple I got for $1.99.

I hope you like it. post when you get around to doing it. I'm curious.
I am stuffed. I ate way too much food. dessert especially. feel gross now. fat, sluggish & gross.
I know, I'm right there with ya, I have 14 more yoga dvds coming in the next 2 weeks. like I need those. I'm not even sure how many I have now. I still have around 21 I haven't done yet. so far I've been lucky, I've only had 2 that I haven't cared for. one being Tracey's. I've read good reviews for hers. just wasn't for me. sometimes, I think the reviews are really biased though. like b.ig Tracey fans. do you know what I mean? that didn't come off sounding very nice. but, I hope you get my drift.
all the dvds I did get rid of, I've replaced with yoga dvds. LOL
oh well, 2009 will be here soon, I'm sure our insanity will end eventually.

Hi Ladies:
We had a nice Christmas day, Church, breakfast with my Father then on to my sister's house. It was nice just spending time with family.
Lori did you get Rodney's workout with Mariel Hemmingway? how did you like it if you got it, I was interested in this one but the length of the workout turned me off it.
Lori today was finally a nice day, no ice, no rain, and no snow and it actually felt a little warmer.
Lori Shoveling has not really bothered me, in the summer I was hoeing the garden, in the fall I was raking the leaves and I guess in the winter I moved right into the shovelling. The hoeing of the garden really got to my abs at first but that was the only thing that bothered me. Now sledding with my niece was a different story my legs felt it and my feet just doesn't like wearing Timberland boots they bother my ankles.
Lori I have a friend who just loves Turbo Jam she slimmed down alot using it.
My Hubby did get me the Lap top but of course it isn't here yet he had to order it because it was out of stock.
Lori I did O.K. with dessert now if I didn't forget the cookies my sister-in-law gave me it might have been a different story I did have a piece of Cheese cake but skipped the chip bowl.
Saundra did you have any plans for today?
Do you think Cathe will have some good premixes on the STS set? I liked the Blast series premixes over others, I don't like when she makes the premxes longer than the workouts some of her workouts are long enough I am looking for shorter versions but not to short.
No workout today.
Annette hope you had a Great Christmas.
Lori Happy Boxing Day!

Diane, nice to hear from you today!
oh, the Mariel Hemmingway & Rodney dvds I have are the Yoga Now set. I really, really like them alot. I just kept the 30 minute & 60 minute dvds. it also came with a 10 minute morning & a nite dvd set, which I gave away. too short.
if that new one your talking about was longer, I definitely would have bought that one too.
I wish they made more. they work great together.
I'm done with snowing. so, so sick of it. this is the whitest Christmas recorded on the records for here. & I sure hope I never see another one like it in my lifetime.
according to the weather forecast, I should be able to get "out" of here Sunday. I will need to basically restock our kitchen.
we're going to my mom's for leftovers tomorrow.
we were saying how it didn't feel "like" our normal Christmas.
I'll be glad when you get your laptop & you can post more again.
I tried to post pictures of our house & yard with all the snow, but I can't get it to work. then I was gonna email some pictures to you girls, but I don't have your email addresses. LOL
oh well. nothing you haven't all seen before anyhow. just b.ig dumps of snow.

Good morning ladies.
I did not want to come to work today.
Diane, I am glad to hear you had an enjoyable day with your family. I don't believe that Cathe will be doing any premixes for the STS series. She said something about using a different type of DVD that doesn't allow her to put as much content on.
And Diane you are one in a million, I personally do not like shoveling snow. I don'tlike raking leaves either. I don't like cutting or pruning my bushes. I often wonder why I have a yard.
Lori, people have a love hate relationship with Tracey. I have seen people tear her apart as well.
Last night I was planning out my workout schedule for 2009. I have all the months cover except for December. I intentionally left that blank for any new workouts that I happen to purchase.
I truly don't need to buy any new workouts. With Chalean Xtreme and STS coming, plus my treadmill, I think I have enough workouts to last two years. I'm not jokiing or exagerating.
Speaking of my treadmill. I bought these fitness cards from IFIT. I bought Levels 1, 2, & 3. Each card comes with 24 workouts. They are suppose to be 8 week programs. But they last me longer because at best I only use the treadmill once a week.
I didn't even put any Level 3 programs into my rotation. L3 speeds are 8mph.
Alright, I guess I need to go and do some work.
Saundra
Lori
December 26th, 2008, 02:08 AM
Saundra, that's cool about all your iFit cards. 8 mph, you'd have to be an Olympian!? wonder how many of those cards get sold?
OMG! Saundra, booked up till Dec! goodness. well, that goes to show that you don't need to buy anymore. proof right there, in black & white, huh?.....but, will that really stop you? LOL
I hate when people start ripping apart instructors like that. especially when it gets really personal. I'm all for being honest about a review or how someone feels about the workout. hey, we're all different & we don't like all the same thing. but, too many times it turns into a real catty, nasty-fest.
I said it before & I'll say it again. that is why I really like what I found here in this forum. there's none of that here. plus, I think Ginger is the best moderator on the planet. (I hope she read that)
well, I was all happy that I might be able to drive out of here for awhile Sun.
doesn't look like it. supposed to get another dump of the white stuff today.
was to be rain, but, oh no, now it's snow again.
I'm starting to crack up, I swear.
I've only gained 2lbs & it feels like 30. I'm so used to taking the dog for his daily walk. of course with the snow, it's been 2 weeks since that happened. feels like an eternity. I miss it.
we are so not used to all this snow around here.
one of our neighbours went to Las Vegas for Christmas. they said it was still cold there. not sure if they still have snow there.......ok, I'll shut up about the snow......see, I told you, it's getting to me!
Saundra, what dvds did you order from totalfitnessdvds.com? I ordered the YogaPulse & Candlelight Yoga, plus the Joy of Yoga/Fatburning dvds. (6 in total).
I also ordered 8 from amazon. but, those don't ship until the 17th of Jan. preorders of some more yoga dvds.
Diane, what did your neice & nephew get for Christmas?
crm549
December 26th, 2008, 04:40 AM
Lori,
I ordered Crunch/Sara Ivanhoe the Joy of Yoga/Perfect Yoga DVD. I ordered 10 Minute Solution Yoga, 2 Gaiam dance DVD featuring Patricia Morena, and 2 The Method DVD Dyamics series.
I am really going to try to limit my 2009 DVD purchases to the new CIA workouts, New Amy Bento workouts, if Cathe comes out with something new I get that, but personally I think she should just take a year off. And maybe I will get the FIRM if they put out anything new. I think they can take a year off too.
Stephanie Huckabee/ Former FIRM instructor and Bodyfit instructor is supposed to be putting out 5 new workouts. I don't think I will be getting those. Not that I don't think they will be good but I just need to start being more selective.
One of the reasons that I did/am doing my rotation for most of 2009 is to show that I do not need anymore workouts. Also to schedule workouts that I don't always get to.
Lori, if I were in your position I would be complaining about the snow too especially because I would have to take vacation days if I wanted to stay home and not venture out in the stuff.

Saundra, that's the same Sara Ivanhoe dvd I purchased too.
I'm sorry to report that the cueing is not good on that 10 minute yoga dvd. :(
& it's like we suspected, it definitely is not a beginner dvd!? which I didn't mind.
I don't know who is rating these dvds now?
I can't say that I liked it. but, I think I'm getting b.itchy from all the snow?
not in the best of moods.
if you can believe it, we have another foot of snow forecasted. it's just snowing like a son of a gun out there right now again.
I don't think the weathermen are able to predict properly anymore. seriously, I think they are out of their league with this stuff now. LOL
your in the same boat I'm in now.
you'll be so much happier with your purchases, because of wiser decision-making.
I think you'll also find better physical results as well.
it makes your life so much easier, all those dvds seem to start playing on my mind. & I had this feeling of 'feeling out of control'.
I just did a Patricia Moreno dvd called Yoga Dance Fusion a few days ago. I really liked it. it was a great workout. different. excellent really. I would recommend that one. It has 2 workouts, I liked the longer one better than the express one.
I would have been chomping at the bit for Stephanie's dvd a year ago. like you, I just don't have that compulsion anymore. it's a great feeling, isn't it?
to really know what you want now.
before I'd buy anything & everything.
I wouldn't be surprised if Cathe took time off. you've probably read already before elsewhere, that everyone's speculating she's going to hit retail next. b.igtime. & her targets will be lower pricing.
I should do some housework. this being trapped sucks. It's amazing me & DH haven't killed each other yet?!
oh, & you know what Saundra? when you order your new Amy's, you come to appreciate them alot more too. that's why I think how I feel with this new adventure into all my yoga dvds?
I think I was really stuck in a rut with all the AWT dvds. from doing so many of them, year after year after year.
the treadmill really broke that vicious cycle I was on.

Yoga Solutions was waiting for me when I got home today.
I had been eyeing that Sara Ivanhoe before but didn't want to pay the price for it. When I saw Totalfitness sale on it, I was all over it.
I was excited too that Stephanie and Nancy were doing videos, but not so much any more. I don't even think Nancy Tucker is going to do vidoes although she hasn't come out and said that. I get so sick and tired of all the secrecy.
I probably should do some housework too, but I'm not. I am tired. I am going to try to finish filling in my 2009 workout schedule. That way I will have it and can just forget about it.

Saundra, did you finish filling in the 2009 workout calendar?
when are you going to do the Yoga Solutions?
we shovelled more snow. DH is going to borrow my mom's car again Sun. he says he will take me grocery shopping. now the forecast is snow through till New Year's.
I looked outside & it doesn't even look like we shovelled!
& I'm tired of pushing people's stuck cars also!
this last dump is wet & heavier. harder to shovel. one of our shovels broke.
I said to my DH, "he broke it on purpose". LOL now we are down to one shovel. he says,"now what are we gonna do?". I said, "guess you'll have to shovel by yourself now". LOL
hopefully the grocery store will still have some left? ugghhh...I can't stress how much I'm looking forward to this to end.
I swear it feels like the ICE AGE.
the news channels are warning that when this stuff melts, we are in for another disaster of flooding now.
roofs are collapsing. Home Depot & one of our major grocery store chains roofs caved in. fortunately the stores were closed because of the holiday (Boxing Day).
sorry Saundra, ranting again about the snow. you've been a great relief for me, to vent. poor thing. I owe you one.:o
catch you tomorrow.

Lori having to push cars is the worse. And that is another bad part is when it start to melt and then refreeze. I am feeling for you.:(
I don't know when I am going to do Yoga Solutions. I bought it to use as an Active Recovery day in my Cathe STS rotation but the whole workout is 1 and 52 minutes. So I was looking at doing one of her premixes. Still not sure. I might have just waisted 10 bucks.
And no I did not finish filling in the schedule yet. I went to bed because I was tired. This morning I had to run down to work. And just now got back. Work is over an hour drive for me so it can be a pain.
Today is a rest day. I may try a little of Yoga Solutions tomorrow. I am planning on doing Tracey's treadmil workout (Walking Strong) tomorrow as well.

a b.ig Tracey-Day for you tomorrow. hey, you just may very well like Yoga Solutions?
I slept 10 hours last nite. I couldn't believe it. the stress of all this frickin' snow. LOL
today you can fill up your 09' workout rotation.
is your commute an hour always? give or take?
enjoy your rest day, you will need it, especially if you do all that Tracey tomorrow! that sounds like an Annette-a-thon! & where did she get to? we haven't heard from Annette for days!
me & DH are snapping at each other. LOL
we really need to get outta' here.....there's only so much of "togetherness" one can take.

Lori:
Sorry about all that snow ours is melting today I think it supposed to be 60 degrees here today.
Well the well Man finally came back and finally started with the drilling hopefully he comes back to finish. My husband said he made a *** mess with his truck.
Saundra do you stick to your workout Calendar? How do you think Stephanie's workouts will be, I would hope for longer ones than the Firm has been putting out I think I am done with them. I will have to check out Stephanie's.
I am disappoiinted that Cathe won't be doing the premixes I use them more than the actual workouts them selves, Will she be still keeping them chaptered? Maybe I can use my programable dvd player.
Lori still no Lap top now its coming on January 2 instead on December 29th.
I didn't realize there was a whole set with Rodney Yee I was just looking at one they had advertised on Amazon and it was to short for me I like them a little longer than 15 minutes but shorter than an hour.
I will probably have cabin fever by the end of the week I get bored when I am not working even though the week will probably go fast.
Going to the movies today
Yesterdays workout was I finally tried Gin Millers Power ball workout I thought it was a little to short so I just did a couple of segments over again I actually like it I didn't feel like I was killing myself or dreding the moves.

Hi y'all,
Snow, sorry about that. It is hot, humid and in the 70's here! Hope y'all had a great Christmas and Boxing Day!
I have gained 10lbs worth of water and bloat, ugh, this after I did a cleanse last week. Haven't slept well. I haven't worked out either, which is part of the problem.
I did see the Patricia Moreno Dance Fusion at Marshalls for under 5.00. Glad to know you enjoyed it, I might have to go and get that one. Tracey's yoga is okay but it is better for a stretch.
I got Namaste yoga for Christmas, a 15.00 certificate to Dickless Sports and The Bean as a present to myself. You would think all this would motivate me but....watchin' college football is my rest week for sure!
I cleaned out some of my workouts, my aunt is on a fitness kick, so I gave her some of my old Firms that don't use step. And sent my cousin the Total series yoga. I never got around to doing the Total Series. I did get "Altar of the Heart" yoga which I can't wait to try.
I didn't see anything at Mary's I just had to have or live without. Darn it! I still want the Rodney Yee's weighted ab kit but Gaiam is sold out. I knew I shoulda gotten waaaay back when. Oh well, perhaps TJ Maxx will have it soon.
I went to a new book store I looked in the fitness section, they had Winsor Pilates, Anne Gittleman, Suzanne Sumers, Lilas Yoga, etc. I was looking for Seven Spiritual Laws of Yoga. Books A Million has the hard bound copy but I want the soft bound, the copy at the library is missing. I did find a book on Food Politics, which I glanced while watchin' football yesterday.
I'll send y'all sunshiney vibes y'alls way >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>!

It is 60 here in Maryland.
Lori, my commute takes at least an hour usually more.
Diane, usually yes. Once I make a rotation calendar I stick to it. Not so much this month though.
Annette, I thought Marshalls was just a clothes store. I need to stop by there next time I am at the mall.
Still have yet to workout. Just feeling really lazy today.

Hey, everyone!
Annette, there you are!
Saundra, your laziness is catchy. I'm really slow today. did go grocery shopping with DH this morning. have started the laundry, but since then, parked my b.utt behind the computer.
going shopping with DH really cramps my style.
Diane, if you can get your hands on a Yoga Now set, I really think you'd like it.
what movie did you go see? there's lots of good ones out right now.
sunny, & warmer. supposed to snow again tonite, & the next couple of days. no relief really. just enough time to dig out, get restocked & ready for the next dump of snow.
tired of myself & everybody around here complaining about it.
Saundra, I've had several jobs that had those long commutes over the years. it's very hard. especially around long weekends or winter driving.
sometimes it was good for me to slowly 'burn off' some of my steam, before I actually got home. 'cooled me off' so to speak alittle.
my arms have been killing me. my biceps. yesterday, we pushed 3 cars out of our cul-de-sac. there was a 4th car stuck, DH & a couple of our neighbours had to go it without my help. I was in my pyjamas & had enough of pushing other peoples cars!
better check my wash. I'll check in on you all again later.
Annette, if it's cheap & you are going back, Yoga Dance Fusion is a decent workout. worth purchasing, it's different than the same old, same old.

Hi ladies:
Annette what kind of cleanse did you do? I was thinking of doing one, I usually do one from La weightloss. It that really the name of the sports store.
Lori all we have left now is dirty snow, but tomarrow is supposed to be cooler.
Saundra Marshalls around sells clothes and shoes I think they sell a few other things I hardly go in there, I am not one to look through things even though I do have a gift card from a birthday a couple of years ago.
Oh Lori we went to see the Day the Earth Stood Still I was o.k. not great but we had a free movie ticket so we only had to buy one ticket.

Hello All.
I am just in an icky icky mood. Don't feel much like doing anything.
I did go and join weight watchers. I am not sure if I want to go to meetings though. I have until Friday to decide if I want to keep my monthly pass which I signed up for or just do the program online.
I am checking in with Tracey Staehle Walking Strong. It was okay. I didn't get to Yoga Solutions. I was trying to do Patrick Goudeau's Quickstep but my DVD was cracked so it wouldn't play. I think I got it from Collage and may try to get them to replace it.

Hey Saundra....sorry your feeling in a 'funk'.
I think it's just because it's that time of year.
I'm feeling outta' sorts myself. I had this sore throat for days. don't know if I'm trying to get a cold or if it's from being stuck mainly indoors all the time?
just finished helping push another neighbour's car out. so sick & tired of winter already & it's just begun.
it's windy now on top of it all. major gusts of wind....just frickin' lovely.
it's good that you can go online for the WW. especially if your not up to going in person to a meeting.
hopefully you did get that dvd from Collage? they are really good on exchanges.
at least you did part of the workout you planned. better than doing absolutely nothing.
hang in there kiddo...the New Year is around the corner. it can only get better right?

First of all, I needed a 25lb dumbbell, for some strange reason, I did not get a pair. Sooo, I was truly excited when Kmart has 25% of sale on dumbbells. I paid around 17.00 or so for it. YES!!! I also purchased pushup handles for 4.00 that are shaped similiar to "S" curves and they are padded.
Second, *** sista in SC has not worked out for about a week, because my priorities are watching College Bowl Ganes, plus Dave is home hogging up my space.
Now on to my story, I was in Kmart today, getting my dumbbell. I also had other items in my hand, such as 1/2 price men's monogram hankies and padded push bars. There's a girl in front of me who had on her "Curves" workout clothes. Anyway, I get to the cashier, and we are chatting about my dumbbell. She says, "I can't believe you lift that" and "what do you do with that heavy of a weight." So I briefly explain, "lat rows and if I eat my peanut ****er, isolation bicep curls." The cashier proceeds to put my dumbbell under the register and rings up my other items. And I asked, "did you include my weights." She replies, "yes." She didn't include my weights, so asks again, "isn't that heavy." I explain to her that I started with 3,5 and 8lbs and worked my way up. Then she rings up my dumbbell! (I only had 2 checks left, thus I had to write 2 checks at Kmart, so much for my splurge at Rosewood Deli, but I did pick up a few items from Rosewood). She was still stunned when I left the store with my dumbbell.
The moral of the story is: Kmart is having a sale on dumbbells. Don't be surprised if people start asking questions. And I couldn't have don't without my workout friends!
Hi Saundra, sorry you are in an icky mood, Christmas is kinda of a let down and then I re-group. HUGS. Sorry about the cracked dvd.
Hi Diane, Marshall's sister store TJ Maxx also has work out related items too. I found a pair of Danskin workout gloves for 4.00 this summer. It is not like I reallllly needed them but......my cleanse: 2 women's laxatives (Correctal-which might make you cramp), 2 natural Colon cleanse, 2 milk thistle, 2 acidophilous, 2 enzemes, 1 vitamin c, 1 vitamin d. I need to do another one. I do have a natural laxatives but I really needed a deeper cleanse if that makes sense.
Hi Lori, I would think that moving cars is both strength and cardio training!
I haven't worked at all today, I just can't get motivated.....send workout vibes >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>, please! LOL

Annette. I think I would only ever use a 25lb dumbbell for lat rows as well and for that you don't need a pair. I did by two but at the time I was wondering if I really needed two.
And thanks to you all for the warm wishes. I went back and re-read my thread. And all I thought was that I must have been in a funk -Can we say "proofread". I just went back and edited a whole bunch of typos.
As soon as I got home, I got re-annoyed (if that's a word) because there was a slip from the post office saying they had a package for me. It is such a pain going to my post office. If you ever want to have your patience tested just come hang out at my post office.

my mailman really pee's me off when he leaves one of those white cards to pick up your package at the post office! alot of times I'm home & he just doesn't feel like knocking on the door & going through the motions. he'll leave it in our post box at the end of the street. then I have to make a special trip to the darn post office!
my sore throat is turning into a plugged nose.
mixed rain & snow. cold. dreary. depressing. makin' me grouchy, pretty much. LOL
Saundra, I just had a binge of the most weird assortment of food. (thought that might make you feel better) couldn't seem to satisfy myself. no real good binge food in the house (thankfully) DH went to play rec-hockey. I polished off the rest of his Christmas chocolate. (he'll be mad) LOL
you sound like how I felt last week. I just felt fat, sluggish......you know, it's because this time of year, I swear, everybody's eating habits are not at their best. everytime I eat c.rap, I feel like c.rap. LOL
I'm sure you'll snap out of it, in a couple days. once you get back on track again. just out of sorts, that's all.

Stephanie just posted this, darn it, I have no excuse now, do I.....
Bowl Break Workout!!!
December 29, 2008 — Stephanie Huckabee
Okay college football fans… this is it… we’re down to the final days of opportunity to watch the 2008 teams in action. I don’t know about you, but I have no doubts that over the next few days I’ll be watching more TV than normal to catch some of the games (that’s pending I can get my kids to nap at the same time and go to bed on time…). So, I thought that it might be a good idea to have a mini-workout plan ready to implement just in case I have the urge to burn some calories in between watching plays and eating nachos…
This is how it works… the average commercial break is around 3 minutes. If you can get moving over the course of 6 commercial breaks, that’s at least 18 minutes of exercise. (I wouldn’t even think to ask you to workout during halftime as that’s usually the best time to grab a bite of tailgate/game food!) So I’ve written out some mini circuits to help you burn some calories and honor the athlete in all of us… One word of caution - don’t do the circuit and then jump right back to the couch. If you’ve gotten a spike in your heart rate, take some time to cruise around the house before you sit down. And of course, if you’d like a real challenge - just do the exercises in the order I’ve written them and add in heavy resistance where you can…..Ready???
Commercial Break #1:
Drop down to the floor and do push ups for 1 minute. That’s your warm-up and don’t complain…think about how hard your favorite football team worked out to make it to a bowl game…
Alternate dips Right and Left for one minute. start small and then make your steps as long as you can.
Find a wall and do a wall squat for one minute - arms out - knees at 90 degrees and no bouncing…hold it still and strong!
Go back and watch some football but walk around for a minute or two before you plunk back down on the couch!
Commercial break number #2
Standing Oblique reaches Right for one minute
Plie jumps or grounded plies for one minute
Standing Oblique reaches Left for one minute
Back to the games….that was an easy one…
Commercial Break #3
March in place for 30 seconds and then wide football run for 30 seconds
March in place for 30 seconds and then pretend to run through tires for 30 seconds
March in place for 30 seconds and then do a close football run for 30 seconds (feet close together)
Walk it off as you get ready to watch more football…drink some water
Commercial Break #4
Step squat alternating to the left and right for one minute.
Do jumping jacks for one minute - make the kids do them with you!!
March in place and do arm circles forward for 30 seconds and backwards for 30 seconds. (No joke - I did these the other day and though they give me bad flashbacks to 9th grade gym class - they’ll really get your shoulders!!)
Commercial Break #5
Step touch for 30 seconds then make it a step skate - shifting your weight side to side with a little hop
One minute straight of the football run in honor of the game - wide, close..whatever - JUST MOVE!!
One minute of marching in place to settle back into TV watching mode…
Commercial Break #6
Drop down to the floor and do triceps push ups for one minute. I have to do these on my knees…you move into pushup position - hands directly under the shoulders and as you lower down, take the elbows to the waist and not out to the side. (You can also do these on a wall as well if they’re too challenging on the floor - of if you just have too many people around you who won’t move out of the way while you’re attempting to workout during a bowl game..)
Roll over and do upper body crunches for 30 seconds. Add in the lower body for a full form crunch for 30 seconds.
Bicycle the legs R/L for one minute with the upper body lifted and contracted.
At the end of this circuit take some time to stretch out, have some water and officially crash on the couch for the rest of the day!!
Go GAMECOCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(Steph is a USC-Gamecock fan)
Diane, MEN! That is all I have to say. Saundra, there are days when I am really strong and can do 25lb double lat rows, chest press and pull downs. Most of the time it is 20 and 15 depending on who(m) it is. Lori, hope you are feelin' better. Sore throats and coughs are goin' around here to. And Katie who has been sick for the last few days, was outside with no shoes on and no jacket on. CHILDREN. I guess I need to get motivated :D
Lori
December 30th, 2008, 01:53 AM
OMG! Annette, Stephanie was 'talking' to you. LOL I think she was calling you out.
are you going to try all that? I think that's really cool.
I feel really crummy. I woke up at 2:00 am. such a snotty nose. uggh. I knew my DH was gonna give me this cold sooner or later. & it's one of those head colds that gives you that horrible, rotten taste in your mouth. you know the ones that you have that stenchy breath too. (sorry getting too graphic now)
my binge made me lose weight? huh-what? seriously. I got on the scale this morning & I was at my target weight again!?
I'm so confused? I think I gained the extra pounds last week from drinking more wine than I usually do & having the kind of desserts like I did. the bodyfat % scale even states that alcohol gives an even more unaccurate reading.
anyhow, point is Saundra, you'll get out of your slump, we all do.
I told you before, it doesn't matter what the scale says, or how my clothes fit. somedays I just feel like I look like a slug? definitely a mind thing.

LOL....maybe it's a good thing we aren't neighbours. I think we could be bad for each other.
last nite was rough. my cold came at full force. I can barely breath. & this morning I actually felt worse, which I didn't think was possible.
I'm on my second cup of coffee & feeling better, you know when you intially get up with a head cold, once you get rid of some that stuff, you feel somewhat better.
I don't know how the heck I'm going to be breathing through my nose for yoga today? hopefully when I run alittle before it will help clear my passages?
I was so hoping this year I'd get through it without a cold!
now Saundra, tell the truth. did you order or buy some more workouts?
what workouts are you all planning for today? if any?
Have a Happy New Year my friends! & all the best for 2009! looking forward to many more wonderful daily discussions with you all! & thank you for making the end of 2008 most enjoyable online.

So on the last day of the year (so I can get a receipt for tax purposes) I went. I am not the only one who waited until today to drop off my stuff. Hi ladies:
Happy New Year!
Lori you are never going to believe what I did today, yes your right shovel snow. We did get that much maybe an inch or so but it felt alot while shoveling.
Saundra do you have Functional Fitness With Tracey Long, I was a little annoyed when I went to use it and it didn't work on any of my dvd players.
My computer was able to read it so I just made a back up.
Lori and Saundra you two could probably have Fitness dvd rental Store between the both of you.
I have been on a Gin Miller Kick this week.
yesterday I did Simply Step and today Build your Muscles the Cord Section.

Diane, I could just about cry right now:( here, too, it's snowing once again. DH said he just can't bare to shovel anymore. I said that was not as bad as having to drive in it.
I'm about to crack up. really. this dump looks like it will be heavy too, wetter than the powdery stuff.
I hardly slept at all last nite. I took some Tylenol nite cold pills & I think they had them mixed up with daytime's. I felt wired. I could not, would not fall asleep. my tongue is like a lizard's back from breathing through my mouth. I feel the c.raps. DH said it took about 2 weeks before he started feeling any better. (great).
the one good thing about it, is it's keeping my weight in check. LOL...no appetite whatsoever.
Diane, we should all join in with our dvds. LOL! we would have yoga sections, strength, cardio.....you name it, we got it! & like a real dvd store, we have lots of duplicates.
DH went to try & find snow tires a few days ago. no luck. the entire Province is sold out. unfortunately, he wouldn't be able to get any until spring! if only we could drive to Washington state. but, it's too dangerous. Washington has had the same terrible weather conditions as here.
last week we had 8 snowmobilers die in avalanches.:(
roofs are caving in. homes & stores. we're used to rain, not snow. ok, ok, I'm rambling again....I'll stop my snow rant.
what are you all up to today?
we got one of those silly PediPaws nail trimmers (for dogs or cats)...our task is to actually try this sucker on our dog. (should be very interesting) DH said we'll have to wear garden gloves.

Happy New Year!!!
Yea, I believe that new year resolutions about purchasing more workout dvds like there will actually be a 2009 Arena Football season! :D
Sorry about all the snow and you being sick Lori. Have you tried a Neti Pot?
Diane, college bowl season is my downfall, that is for sure! I watched 2 games yesterday, and on tap today, whooole bunch more. My neighbor invited us over to watch the USC game at 11:00.
Saundra, I dropped off stuff to Goodwill and Thrift Store but I end up buying something when I am there. Which kinda of defeats the purpose! ;).....I am hoping I can find new workouts at both stores.
I got my collards on, already made my banana muffins with raisins and nuts, so they are "healthy" to take to neighbor.
I need to get back to workin' out! Yep Stephanie IS talking about me! LOL
Hope y'all have a wonderful new Year!!!!
Lori
January 1st, 2009, 01:26 AM
no, Annette, I haven't tried a neti-pot. have you? wishing I had one right now, though. I wish I had some Vicks actually.
hey, come on Annette, cut us some slack...LOL (about future dvds)
listen to you, making muffins already! one of my neighbours gave me some of this cake/bread she made. she said it's called, "Food for the Gods". she's from the Phillipines (did I spell that right?) anyhow, it was very delicious. it had dates & walnuts. it was kinda like a banana bread. but, very moist & sweet.
well, I should get my b.utt out of this chair too. catch up with you all later.
have a good one.

Hi Lori:
Do you drive in the snow at all? My son is still using my Trail Blazer so when it snows I haven't been going anywhere unless the roads are clear. For the most part they clear pretty well around here. I didn't sleep well last night either but for me it was the wind hollowling away.
Hope you are feeling better, I think I am just strating to get a cold.
How was the pedi-paw thing my cat hates getting her nails cut, I have been using nail clippers she seems to like them the best.
Annette enjoy your football games today.

January 1st, 2009, 06:03 AM
Diane, I sure hope your not getting this cold. mine started off with a sore throat. do you feel tired?
we haven't done the dogs nails yet. his feet our wet. we just finished shoveling more snow.
I do drive in the snow. now, with me not working, I don't bother. unless it's an emergency.
I prefer not to go out on the roads.
it's the idiots who are around me, that freak me out.
my car is very bad in the snow. DH's is not much better. he used to have a 4x4 truck, which was very nice to drive in the snow. we wish we still had it.
my dog is pretty good with getting his nails cut. don't get me wrong. he doesn't love it, but, he knows he gets a treat after he's done, so he's pretty good. I'll let you know, how the nailcutting went.
Lori
January 1st, 2009, 08:31 AM
Diane, we only did one nail. LOL
they recommend only doing one nail. to get your pet accustomed to it. our dog didn't seem to mind it all that much. he was curious as to what we were doing. I think it tickled him. he wanted to see the instrument right away.
we gave him a treat.
I tried it on my mom's chihuahua. he didn't care one bit. I think I could have probably done all of his nails, but, he just had his nails clipped last Sunday.
so far so good. we tried to do another nail on my dog, but, he wasn't trusting us. he was suspious. will try another nail tomorrow.
Saundra, where'd you go?

January 1st, 2009, 08:43 AM
I'm here Lori.
Happy New Years ladies. I hope each of you (even with the Snow Lori) are having a good day.
I have been trying to get myself organize for the new year. Each year I go through and change out all my files (bills etc) for the upcoming year, but I hadn't done that yet. I hadn't even gone and bought new folders yet. Luckily I had some hanging folders left over from last year. I still need to go and get regular folders to subdivide the hanging folders.
Although I suppose I can recycle the 2007 folders, but that would mean getting rid of the 2007 files which I need to do anyway just don't feel like doing it now.
I also place labels on each folder for 2009.
I decided to keep the monthly pass to weight watchers. Although this week I really haven't been following the program. I plan to start strong on Sunday. I went grocery shopping and spent $96.00 buck this morning.
Diane, I have the Core Foundations Function Fitness workouts. I know they play in my computer. I haven't tried them in the DVD player.
Lori, what would be call our DVD store?
Annette I hear there are suppose to be 5 Bowl games today so I hope you are not working yourself too hard.

Saundra
Good girl! no excuses come Sunday now.
hmmm, that is a good question. what would we call our dvd store? umm..."We Have Everything"? LOL
being stuck in the house, trying to amuse myself...I did what your doing now. I too, like to basically have the same set-up for my bills & files. last years, boxed. new ones ready.
goodness, 5 games!? I think Annette's thinking she died & gone to heaven!
well, I don't know about the rest of you all, but, I'm looking forward to a New Year!? that 2008 was a weird year for me?
last nite wasn't so loud as it normally is, with all the fireworks. I think too many people didn't feel like standing out in the snow & cold. LOL
so there is a silver lining always in it somewhere.
it stopped snowing & it's warmer. warm enough to melt & then with our luck, will freeze again over nite.
Saundra, do you have to work tomorrow?
crm549
January 1st, 2009, 05:34 PM
Lori, I am at work now. Got called in.
However, there either wasn't a problem or the problem corrected itself before I got here. I am going to hang out until I get my full 40 hours and go home. I was suppose to work tomorrow or rather today, but I told them I wasn't coming in unless I got paged.
"We Have Everything." That sounds nice.
When I went to the store yesterday I bought a bunch of pre-package salads. I am not a *** salad eater. If fact I don't eat salad at all, but this week I went to Olive Garden for lunch and they brought out a salad. They always do. It comes with the meal. So I decide to try it. And it was edible. However, I figured out it is the dressing that makes it edible. Whatever salad dressing Olive Garden used I found it to be tasty. The lettuce itself still didn't taste that good.
But anyway so I got the pre-package salads and I bought about 10 different salad dressing spray mist, single server packages of salad dressing and a couple of bottles of salad dressing. I got all different flavors because I am not sure what I like. I am sure I will be throwing some of them out - the ones that I don't like.
My goal will be to have a cup of salad 5 days of week.
Saundra
Lori
January 2nd, 2009, 12:50 AM
Way to go, Saundra! that's a great goal!
your right, it definitely is the dressing that can make or break the salads, for sure.
& your right, you probably have bought some that you won't like. but, I bet there are some you will like & you will have a favorite. if you stick to that goal for 3 weeks, you'll be surprised that you will have come accustomed to actually 'liking' salads or at least able to tolerate them more. it only takes 21 days, they say, for your body to get 'used' to something.
go the same route with other veggies. dips, sauces, just be careful not to smother them too much, because you already know, you can defeat the whole purpose of trying to cut calories. I have a habit of liking my sauces for vegetables more than some of the vegetables themselves. but, I still say, at least I'm eating them, if they didn't have the cheese sauce or Hollandaise sauce, I wouldn't eat them (broccoli & asparagus).
I'm sure you'll hit your goals fast. you have a plan set already & your off to a good start.
when you feel your starting to fail or fall, use your mind. make it work for you. most of it is a mental thing. tell yourself that you 'can do it'. talk yourself into it, instead of out of it.
you already have the fitness part of your goals intact.
tell yourself Saundra, "it's a New Year & a fresh start".
are you going to work out today? Friday is usually your rest day, isn't it?
we have plans to go to Costco today. we have to return that stand we bought for the tv (actually for the dvd player & HD channel-thing receiver (whatever you call it). it ended up not fitting in the corner. it wouldn't work.
or it didn't look very nice.
we ended up with something else.
we need a new shovel & DH wants to get a new hockey stick.
when I let the dog out this morning, I saw fresh ice crystals on the ground. almost looked like b.ig hail. we're supposed to have snow flurries today. 2-4 cm. I sure hope not.
Diane, how are you feeling? no cold I hope.
last nite, I went to bed with one of DH's strips for his nose. (you know those things hockey or football players wear?) it did help some for breathing alright.
but, this morning tearing it off, ripped the devil out of my nose. now that's a pore cleaner, that is!
if we do go out, I'm picking up some kind of drugs. I need some relief.
Annette, did the scores go the right way for you yesterday?
my coffee's gulped, I'm off & 'running' now - literally. checking up on you all later.

Lori Thanks for the words of encouragement. And actually I did workout today. I have moved my rest day to Saturday for 2009. I did one of my IFIT Treadmill workouts.
That nose strip you were talking about reminds of when I go get my eyebrows waxed.
I have things to return too - To Sam's Club. I need to find my receipts though. I figured it is buried under a pile of papers on my desk.
Hopefully you won't get too much snow. We are supposed to get a Wintery mix today, but hopefully not to much because it is below freezing here.
Off to shower.

That nose strip you were talking about reminds of when I go get my eyebrows waxed.
LOL it does too.
it was snowing like crazy again this morning. I didn't think we would be going, but, it stopped & turned sunny.
we decided to go because tomorrow is supposed to worse. another snowstorm coming?!
Costco was already busy & we got there alittle after 10. the return lineup wasn't that bad actually.
first thing I did was hit the drug dept. grabbed some Dayquils. I went to the vending machine & all it had was pop?! I bought a C-Plus, there was a guy looking at me weird. probably wondering why I'm drinking pop so early in the morning? LOL I don't know about you all, but, I need liquid of some sort to swallow pills. & those Dayquils are like horse tablets.
feeling better.
we went all over the place looking for a shovel. couldn't find one anywhere! frustrating. oh well. DH fixed our broken one, but, it sucks because it's really short now. but, it will have to do. not good for the old back though.
I hope you don't get any bad weather.
so your rest days are Saturdays now.
are you liking the IFIT programs?
I bought 2 new yoga outfits from Costco. I didn't really need them, but, they are really nice quality. I bought a bunch of new exercise clothes this last summer. but, I figure when I do need them, I'll have them. I have in the past had trouble finding sets when I do need them. & the problem is, I don't like spending a whole lot of $ on them. I seem to be rough on my exercise clothes. I b.low the doors out of the crotches & they when I can't get the smell out of the tops, I don't want them anymore. & I have bought more expensive ones, that claim they wick & last longer, but, I don't think they worth the extra $. I still manage to wreck them just the same.
I looked to see if they had any videos. LOL...but, they only had Billy Blanks. it looked like a pretty nice set (b.ig box of something). I probably would, no, I would have bought it before. & who am I kidding, if it was some yoga set, I would probably have bought it too.
I better make the bed & do some housework now. feel like laying down & going to sleep.
are you going to go to Sam's tomorrow? I'd go early, I'm sure it will be a zoo. Costco had a catalog, I grabbed, all about fitness, nutrition, stuff like that for the New Year's resolutions. I sort of leafed through it when we were in the car. without my glasses, couldn't see all too much. LOL. but, I did see a kettlebell set.
Saundra, remember not to let yourself get too hungry. that always sabatoges you. been there, & done that.;)
I'll pop in again later.

Hi Ladies:
Lori did you always need glasses to read, I used to wear glasses for distance but I got the Lazer surgery a while ago now the best thing I ever did for myself.
Talking about yoga workout clothes I still have an Old Navy story and I really like their yoga pants plus the price isn't to bad.
Lori I make my husband wear those Breathe Right strips his snoring wakes me up when he manages not to fall asleep on the couch.
Saundra I used to love eating salad but I was eating so much that I could stand to eat it anymore. So are you going to the WW meetings or do you just weigh in and leave?
Well I found out that other Tracey Long workouts are not working on the dvd player that my husband bought, I think its the workouts not the dvd player though.
Lori the cold never surfaced kind of annoying though I feeling like its lingering in my head, there but not really there if you know what I mean.
Todays workout was Power Half not sure if I liked it or not I will have to try it again and also AM yoga with Rodnee Yee.

Diane, I do know what you mean. that's how my cold started. I just felt abit off kilter. tired. then I got alittle bit of a sore throat. It felt like allergies. I thought it was from being indoors most of the time. I think I was fighting it off pretty good, then all of a sudden it turned out to be a cold alright. keep fighting it, hopefully you won't get any worse.:)
I started to need glasses around 40 years old. I had my eyes checked a few years ago, & he just recommended the drugstore reading glasses. I'm alright with those. I just need them for really small print. if I hold the newspaper far away enough, I can still read it. LOL....pretty soon my arms won't be long enough though.
my girlfriend had Lasik sugery too, she is so happy she had it done. she wished she did it sooner.
I've heard other people mention Old Navy's workout clothes are really reasonable. I keep forgetting to look there. I love their prices especially for summer tshirts. I have to remember next time. thanks for mentioning them.
I wasn't really even looking for them right now, but, DH pointed them out. that's the way it always is though isn't it? when your not looking for something, you find lots. & when your looking for something, you can't find any?!
Diane, my DH needs more than Breathe Rights for his snoring! I can hear him from the spare bedroom down the hall, sometimes!!!
he gets kicked out alot! LOL
he says I snore, but, it's him, waking himself up!
me & the dog win, 2 against one, I say. I tell him, the spare bedroom's bed isn't b.ig enough for me & the dog to share.
there's nothing worse than a snoring man!? my DH can peel the wallpaper off the walls, I do believe!
& since my perimenopause kicked in, I can hear a pin drop! even his loud breathing annoys the heck out of me! LOL me nudging him & kicking him. or tugging on his pillow, drives him crazy. nobody gets any sleep. best to sleep separate. sleep is so important too. we both worked shift work different times of our lives, so we're used to it really.
oh my nose is raw. I look like Rudolph. I needed a ton of makeup to make it look somewhat normal. I do feel better today though than yesterday & the day before. it's finally easing up. tomorrow should be better.
what was Power Half like Diane? Did you buy Rodney Yee's new Yoga for the Week dvd? I keep reading that's a really good one.
I never had any problems with my TLT's Diane. I think it might be your discs. I remember they played on both different dvd players we had. did you just get them? can you send them back?
doesn't feel like Friday. I'm so screwed up with my days now. DH goes back to 'work, work' now on Monday already. the vacation days went by fast. it will be back to normal now for everyone again this Monday, huh, don't you all think. this week is always kinda weird. the week after Christmas.
anyone have any exciting plans this weekend? what are you all up to?
crm549
January 2nd, 2009, 04:00 PM
Diane & Lori, the TLTs play fine, it is the TLPs that may not play. The dvds used were DVD-R, I think. After awhile I hear they become unplayable.
Diane I plan to go and stay for the meetings. At least the first few weeks.
Lori, I am really rough on workout clothes too. When I go on my fitness trips, I usually buy new workout clothes anyway. I don't want to take my worn smelly ones on any trips.
Speaking of Fitness Trips, The FIRM is planning another one for April 2 -4th.
Diane, I plan to get Lasik but not until I get my braces off. One thing at a time for me.
Lori, I will probably be cleaning house this weekend. Finishing laundry etc.
Saundra
Lori
January 3rd, 2009, 02:17 AM
that's brillant Saundra! I bet your right. they are dvd-r's.
DH says, "why do you care, you only exercise at home now anyway. no one sees you". but, it just doesn't feel right. I don't like looking & smelling like a schmuck. it's a when "you look good, you feel good".
same goes here, if I went on a trip or to the gym, I'd definitely be buying new stuff. I think me not going anymore to the gym, I keep some of these outfits longer than I normally would.
Saundra, are you planning to go on the Firm trip in April?
it's snowing...AGAIN!!! I promise to leave it at that. you all know now, how I feel about that. glad we went out yesterday.
my cold is much better. glad it's going too. tolerable now. just an annoying plugged nose. it's really weird doing yoga, breathing through your mouth. which I came to thought of, should I even be doing yoga when I can't breathe through my nose? I thought why not?! I hate all these rules. if I want to, I can, right? nobody's here telling me I can't or shouldn't.
Saundra, did you get your filing done? did you get more folders? housework...ugh. it's never ending is it? it's so time consuming too. don't you wish you could twitch your nose like Bewitched & it would all be done?
did you hear about John Travolta's son passing away. 16 years old. that's terrible. so extremely sad.
have a good weekend everyone.

Lori, I did hear about John's son and it is terrible.
And oh yes, I wish I was Bewitched.
I did get more folders. I spent yesterday labeling them. I thought it was time consuming although I was probably being impatient.
Not sure about the FIRM trip yet. I will wait for Emily to post an itinerary.
Glad to hear the cold is going away. This is the part where you will sound worse than you feel.

Hi Ladies:
Saundra it is the Dvd-r's that I am having trouble with, Lori I had them for a long time and never had any trouble with them. I thought it might have been the dvd player my husband bought, but they don't work on any of them. I am having trouble with the Functional Fitness and the Revolutions, so far the computer still reads them so I just back them up.
Lori I have been going through the same thing thinking it was allergies and today it feels more like a head cold.
When did you stop working? do you miss it?
Saundra the braces I did when I was much younger I get complements about my teeth all of the time, plus I am lucky they stay pretty white, once in a while I use the white strips. The lasik I actually did in Canada it was much cheaper than the US including the hotel stay. Now if I can just stop spending on trying to lose weight I would love to take care of an appendix scar that I have had since I was 8 years old. My tummy ended up being disfigured not a pretty site.
No workout today

January 3rd, 2009, 08:30 AM
Saundra, your right. I have such a husky voice right now. LOL
we just shovelled more snow. seems pointless. still snowing. we've become obsessed with shovelling now.
Diane, I took an early retire package when I turned 45. I don't miss it at all. I started working parttime when I was 15 years old. soon as I graduated at 18, I began working fulltime. I've had enough.
the times have changed so much. people mostly. I used to enjoy it. now, each generation seems harder to deal with. people have lost their manners & self pride too.
I bought Sara Ivanhoe's Yoga on the Edge which is a dvd-r. I really like it, but, I guess I'll regret buying a dvd-r, huh? so they just stop completely on their own? with no warning? I think they would gradually wear out & I could replace it?
Saundra, being organized period is time consuming.
Diane, you won't like this cold. try your hardest to fight it!
16 years old. that's way too young. what a way to start the New Year. not that any time is good. how awful. :(
crm549
January 4th, 2009, 01:07 AM
Lori I got that Yoga On the Edge DVD. It wouldn't play in my Apple Computer but it played every where else.
Diane, I would have tons of money to direct else where if I wasn't spending it on the nutrition and fitness industry.
Lori every once in awhile but not often I wish I had stayed in the military until I retired. If I had I would be able to retire this coming June. But honestly I don't miss it and I didn't like the work I was doing and while I am not crazy about this particular job, I do like what I do now. But still it would have been nice to have steady check come in each month.
Checking in with Chalean Xtreme Burn Circuit 1. I didn't care for this workout. I am a bit bummed about that. I do like Chalean, but the workout itself - I felt something was missing or it was inadequate somehow. I really wish STS had arrive before the year began.
Hopefully the other Burn Circuit I will like, but if I don't I may send this back.

January 4th, 2009, 01:28 AM
Saundra, to be totally honest, the last couple of work years I could hardly bear it. I started to really dread it. & I wondered if I would make it long enough to get the package. there were days when I was ready to throw in the towel. but, I'm stubborn & figured I made it this far.
In hindsight, I should have left a long time sooner. would have been more happier mentally. it really shouldn't be about the $?
you do always second guess what you decided though. human nature.
that Yoga on The Edge dvd really cheeses me off! If I knew it was coming out on dvd 2 weeks later, I would have bought it from Collage! I'm really mad about that. do you think it will not play eventually? I read at VF that Sara Ivanhoe said it was supposed to be good quality? I think you'll like it, though, when you try it. she misses a couple of cues, but, all in all, I liked it.
I've read a real mixed bag about Chalean's. that's too bad.
if you did get your STS, I don't think you would have ordered the Chalean's. I think you probably would have passed.
it would have been nicer if you did get the STS. Cathe should have really pushed for it to be ready for her followers for the start of the New Year. don't you think? I'm sure alot of people wanted to start on the 1st of Jan.
well, I'm sorry to report we have the b.iggest dump of snow here & DH is going grocery shopping with me today. prepared for some more in-store agruments! LOL
beggars can't be choosers though. I don't think I'd make it down the street very well.
it's supposed to warm up & finally start raining this afternoon. so "they" claim.
back to our normal weather. we'll see. I ain't holding my breath on this one.
have a nice Sunday, girls.
Saundra, post when you do your Yoga on the Edge & Yoga Solutions. LOL
I'm dying to know what you think. oh, & your 10 minute Solution Yoga one, too. you aren't going to do those ones though, until your into your STS's, right? for active rest days?

Hi y'all,
I haven't tried the Neti-Pot yet, but someone suggested a bulb syrinege. I haven't tried that either.
It is not snowing here but had rain. The humidity is high again.
I haven't worked out! And feelin' oh so flabby!
Yep, I am in football heaven!!! The last of the bowls wind down tomorrow. I really don't care about Ohio State/Tex Tech, but I'll watch it. The FL game is the one I am I want to see. Oh, during College Bowl Week, they showed clips of the Pop Warner football league at Disney World. The little guys are so cute. They look like Elroy from the Jetsons!
It has been about 2 weeks since I have worked out, surprisingly I don't feel that guilty or grouchy. But I am getting toward that push I need to do so. Plus everyone is going back to their places, so I can get rest and workouts on MOnday.
I did see the clips from Yoga on the Edge, that one does look good.
Saundra will I see your sweet self in April?
I need to get organized, I am doing good to do laundry! I did go to my first garage sale and got a vcr for downstairs, I have no excuse now! DO I! (I could probably think of one or two LOL). I did find a Nike workout shirt at the garage sale and 2 Firm's workouts. I am sending those two, to my cousin in Philadephia. They are Lower Body with Kerry on the cover and my all time favorite, Tracie Long, Sculpted Legs, etc. I did find pair of pants at Goodwill for a 1.00 to workout in, to get me motivated.
I REEEEAALLLY don't need anything, YEA right! :D

well, still waiting for the rain....hmmph....still cold. give me a break.
grocery shopping went as suspected. DH drove me nuts.

Annette, I am not sure if I am going to make it to the April trip or not. I am waiting to see the itinerary.
Lori, Tracey's Yoga Soluton I don't have schedule until August. (I know, I know) Yoga on the Edge - I have the Sunrise workout schedule at the end of the month. I don't have the 10 Minute Solution Yoga scheduled at all.
Yeah if Cathe's STS had come out before the new year, I wouldn't have gotten Chalean at all. And I think towards the end, Cathe tried to push to have it done, she just ran out of time. But I agree. I think many people cancelled their orders and ordered Chalean or just simply cancelled their orders. Just from a business/marketing stand point you would have thought that she would definately had wanted the program to come out before the year began simply because that is when people are most motivated to try something new and/or want to rev up their exercise program.
I am still trying to decide if I want to jump ship and send Chalean back. The program does come with a 30 day money back guarentee. Usually I wouldn't care but I paid over $200 for the program. Already I am thinking about revising my rotation and substituting other strength workouts in.
We'll see.
Saundra
Lori
January 4th, 2009, 11:04 AM
Saundra, ya, I hear ya. loud & clear. $200 is a key factor in the sending back. I can see if it was alot cheaper, then you wouldn't hesitate on keeping it.
LOL...I'll be waiting awhile for your yoga reviews.

Hi y'all
Ugggh, that is all I am gonna say! Worked out for the first time in 2 weeks. I am doin' the Firm 90 Day Rotation. Thank goodness, the first workout is Bust and ****! My abs are sore! Then I did 1/2 hour of Namaste yoga.
My abs are goin' to be majorly sore in the morning! That is for sure. I wanted to sneak in cardio but Dave came home.
You are not alone, men and children drive me nuts! I took a 30 minute catnap to recover! Yep, I am glad everyone went to their places today.
Saundra, did you already get Tracey's, if not you can borrow mine, if you like. Sarah's Yoga on the Edge is mighty tempting! Did you see the motorcade of the Obama's girls going to school this morning? Dave said today, I would hate to be in that carpool line!
Lori, between the snow and rain, I know you can't wait until spring!
I finished reading a book about high school football in Alaska. There season starts in August and finishes in October because of the weather. Interesting book.
Diane, I hope you having a great day!

I could have sworn I posted this morning.
Annette, I did receive Yoga Solutions. I won't get to it for awhile. I need to stop buying dvd workouts that I won't do until months later. However, usually there is a sale that tempts me.
Everyone who was off last week is back and now they are trying to rush me to get things done.
I am checking in with Advance Step Challenge 3 Quick Premix.
I am going to try workout when I get home tonight instead of getting up in the morning to do it. I don't always want to get up.

still no rain. it snowed another foot last nite.:(
DH had to borrow my mom's car again.
so today I had shovelling to do, by myself.
my hands are blistered now. my back is killing me.
Annette, I feel like I live in Alaska right now.
I did see the girls going to school. the littlest one look kind of scared. I felt sorry for her.
Diane hasn't posted in quite sometime?

Lori, your weather seems like its never ending. Are you taking Advil or Tylenol for you various aches and pain?
Two of the works I ordered from Totalfitnessdvds came is cardboard boxes. There was a cut out in the middle of the box for the DVD. These are Gaiam workouts and the box is suppose to be 100% recyclable and biodegradable. I wonder why they don't sale the FIRM workouts in these boxes.
We are in a Winter weather warning/advisory in our area right now. I was just out and it wasn't too bad. But as the day goes on, it is suppose to get worse. I am going to take the train into work today.
I am checking in with The FIRM Super Sculpting.

Hello Saundra!
I kind of cooled it on the Advil...when I was sick, I was taking all kinds of meds. I don't like to overdo it. the yoga has helped the stiffness. but, getting on the treadmill first is not easy.
I know it doesn't sound politically correct, but, I don't like those Eco-friendly dvd boxes. they don't fit in my dvd stand. & they don't close properly either. I like the plastic cases better. I know, bad girl.
we have a weather warning of hard down pours now. it is warm. our normal temperatures. now, we have potential flooding. your right, it's never ending. one disaster after another. this is our worst winter in history. our skytrains had such problems with our snowstorms. is your train all underground? hope you don't/didn't have trouble with riding the train today. all the snow on our roof is avalancing now onto the driveway.:( I'm not looking forward to going outside to shovel in the pouring rain.

Hi y'all,
Can I say and write DOMS! Especially in the chest and ab area. Majorly sore! I was watchin' Ohio State/TX game last night and around 10:30is it started pouring rain. Which made it cooler today. TX won, great game.
I've got headache because of the weather. I did take 2 tylenols will take more after dinner. Dumb a88 me, hasn't eaten that much today, duh, no wonder I have headache. Went to Publix and stocked up on 2 kinds of probolitcs, they were on sale.
I tried Tylak Pitak's Altar of the Heart. I did an hour or so of it. I am not sure how long it is, but I knew I was done after an hour. It is not a bad yoga workout. I did legs and then finished with Core Cardio 1. The first days of 90 Day rotation is cardio.
I need to switch up working out, since Dave goes to work early, he comes home early. Which is right in the middle of my workouts. But he sits quietly in his corner and plays computer games. :D
Diane, hope you are doin' well!
Happy Almost Wednesday.
PS: Did y'all see that Sanjay Gupta might get the Surgeon General's position. I think he is kinda of cute :D
Lori
January 6th, 2009, 09:13 AM
I think Sanjay Gupta would be great at the position. I think he's cute too.
I get headaches too, if I'm over-hungry.
I looked at Altar of the Heart, but, it looks too advanced for me. I think it had a headstand or something difficult in it at the end when I previewed it & I decided against it.
I wish I was like you Annette on the not finishing a workout & carrying on with other business. but, I have such an obsessive behavior, that I "HAVE" to finish a video? I think I could learn a lesson or two from you.
I gained 2 & 1/2 lbs the last couple of days. (2 pints of ice cream & too many nuts & other goodies). I'm hoping today burnt something off!
I ran 2.5 miles on the treadmill. did a hour of yoga.
shovelled 3 piles of snow.
pushed 2 stuck cars.
walked the dog to the end of the street to get the mail (not an easy task, the road's a mess. like walking out in the country)
washed all my floors. 4 of them.
can you tell I'm going stir-crazy?????!!!!!
it is pouring rain. hopefully it will melt very fast & we'll never see the white stuff again!!
Saundra, are you going to preview all 41 of your STS's? what if they don't all play properly. I'm always so paranoid when it comes to stuff like that?
crm549
January 6th, 2009, 12:49 PM
Annette, I missed that headline. Sanjay Gumpta for Surgeon General. I guess Mr Obama watches CNN a lot. I actually like his reports.
Lori I think Cathe would replace it even if it is pass the 30 day mark.
I don't know if I would preview all 41. I have no intention of doing squat rack legs so I would even both with those and the other DVDs I would try to preview 12 at a time.
However, there are real diehards out there and I am sure someone will preview all 41 and post if there are any issues.
Lori I used to be like where I had to finish a video, but nowadays, some of these workouts are just too long.
Annette, I am trying to switch up when I work out as well. Yesterday I worked out when I got home from work which was midnight. It was nice not having to get up and workout. And I don't remember not being able to fall a sleep when I crawled into bed. So I am going to try to do the same thing tonight when I get home.
Lori, I am sure there is light at the end of the tunnel with all the crappy weather you have been having.

Saundra, when are the STS's supposed to be delivered now?
your right, there will be a buzz soon as the first person gets theirs.
I'm annoyingly like the Rainman as my DH often tells me. very quirky. I admit.
yep, this is a winter to remember for sure.
I wonder if Diane is having trouble with her online provider? or her new laptop? she doesn't usually take this long to post. maybe she got sick? hope she's alright. miss her posts.

Hi ladies:
Annette I have been a little off feeling kind of moody.
Saundra it's annoying when you pay for thngs and regret it later. How is Weight watchers going for you?
Lori another day of miserable weather no school here today, I have been bugging my husband to get my sons car fixed I want my Blazer back I hate drivng the car in bad weather.
I have been struggling with myself lately I tried Jenny Craig because my friend recommend it and is doing really well she lost 20 pounds since November. Of course I didn't do well with it I struggled getting there it was just to far away from where I live over an hour and the weather every other week or so just kept me from getting there. And forget how much money I was spending that really got to me. My friend has been trying to convince me not to give up on it but I just don't see speding the money I do not have.
Well my workouts have been fine I have been still doing Gin Miller I have been a little bored with my workouts and I even did a Kathy Smith workout. It was harder than I remembered.

Diane, glad you posted. sorry your feeling bummed.
I was cranky when I got on the scale myself this morning. I must have burnt the same calories as a marathon runner yesterday & the scale did not budge! & I really watched what I ate yesterday & the day before too! all I could say when I read the scale is, "WHAT"!!!?? "You've got to be kidding me!?" so frustrating.
I busted my a$$ yesterday?!
kids have missed school here too, because of this weather. they haven't been back to school yet. must be driving their mothers crazy. we are in our 14th storm! yes, you read that right. the kids are to go back today.
we had 120 millimeters of rain last nite. so, yes, the snow is going, but, it is flooding every now.
be careful driving Diane. it's not good, especially when your driving something you don't feel safe or comfortable driving with.
stick with your workouts. they will keep some of your moodiness at bay. take some of the edge off. let go of your steam, so to speak.
hang in there Diane. things can only get better, right?;)

January 7th, 2009, 01:39 AM
Oh the scale!!!!
Diane, I will weigh in on Saturday. I really count this as my first week because last week I didn't do anything Weight watcher's like. Last week I was still debating whether or not I was going to keep the monthly pass. However this week is day 4 for me. So I have had 3 good days of eating thus far. I haven't gotten my sugar headache which is sure to come. I normally get this when I start cutting sugar from my diet. So far I feel okay.
Lori, the delivery date for STS is the Million Dollar Question? Who knows.
Diane, as far as Jenny Craig go, I wouldn't put any more money into it if you are not happy with it but I would try to finish out the program if you prepaid for any portion of it unless of course they would pro-rate you and give you some of your money back. Usually these programs have a 30 day cancellation period. Has it been that long?
However, if you feel it is costing you more money to finish the "subscription" (i.e. gas etc) sometime you just have to cut your losses.
Weight Watchers now has the Momentum plan which is just combining the Flex Plan and the Core Plan into one plan. They have new booklets too. I am not a fan of the size of the booklets. They are long and awkward. Hard to store.
I am checking in with Amy Bento CIA 2805 Hi Lo Knockout.

I sent by Chalean Xtreme. I thought the way the package was presented was very nice and I do like Chalene. Just did not like the workouts.
It has finally stopped raining here. I think it rain for a day and 1/2 non stop.
I am checking in with The FIRM Body Sculpt.

Hey Saundra.
I kind of thought you might send the Chaleans back. I just had a feeling.
I'm glad things are feeling alittle more back to normal here too. more laid back feeling. a sigh of relief.
I ran for an hour on the treadmill & did a half hour yoga workout this morning. felt like my normal self again. cold is almost gone.
tomorrow's Friday already. this week went by fast.
ahh, if not for the weather, what would we have to talk about?
light rain here today. winds to pick up this afternoon & bring in sunshine. & we certainly deserve that! if I do say so myself.
the snow is melting, but, not fast enough. it will take quite sometime for all of it to go.
Saundra, are you still working out when you get home from work?
crm549
January 8th, 2009, 10:02 AM
Oh Lori. There is plenty of things to talk about besides the weather.
For instance what do you read? Do you like to read? I really don't read anymore. Ever since I started commuting to work, I started listening to Audio Books. The only think I really read nowadays are my work (technical books). I wish more the technical books I have to read were on kindle, because they can get heavy carrier them around all the time.
But back to Audio books. Love these things. They really became a godsend to me especially when I would get stuck in traffic.
My favorite author or the author that I have the most audio books by is Agatha Christie. She a great British Detective Writer. I have like over 20 audio books by her. Recently I started re-listening to them again. Many of her works have been made into movies and/or a television series. I am a collector of those as well. My mom doesn't read/listen to her stuff but she likes the movies. If fact she has half my movie collection.
The second author I have to most audio books by is Janet Evanovich. She write this series called the Stehanie Plum Series. I just got her latest book in the mail yesterday. It's called Plum Spooky. Stephanie Plum is a bounty hunter. So the books are about her various exploits.
I also like but don't have as many of is Linda Fairstein. She writes about a New York Prosecuter of Sex Crimes named Alex Cooper. So of her writing can get gorry but overall I like it.
So that different than talking about the weather isn't.
So far I have been doing really well on my eating plan (WW). This is day 5 for me. I haven't really even been hungry. I know it is going to take a while for me to start seeing results. So I am not going to look for significant results until the end of the month.
I know you said you gave away a lot of workout but you didn't give away your FitPrimes right. I am kind of irritated that I didn't care for the Chalene workouts because so many people on some of the othe forums seem so enthusiastic about it.
And yes I am still working out when I got home. Before I start working out, I find that I am hungry. But after I finish working out, I am not hungry anymore. That is weird. I am also tired, but I just need to get use to it.
When I used to work from 1130pm to 0730am. First thing I did when I got home was to workout.
Well I wrote you a book, so I will stop now.
Glad you a feeling better and having better weather.

Lori
January 8th, 2009, 01:20 PM
My goodness Saundra! that I think is the longest post you've ever posted! LOL
now I know how to get you going! your usually so short & to the point.
I used to read alot. especially when I worked. I couldn't get enough of it. funny now, I don't read as much.
I love Agatha Christie. haven't read any of her stuff in eons. yes, great movies too. so you like suspense mostly?
my favourite author is Anne Rule. true crime. I like to read what makes people tick. why they do what they do.
I've heard of Janet Evanovich (she's very popular, huh) but, not Stephanie Plum or Linda Fairstein. gore doesn't bother me. I like to read all these true crime books & end up "hearing" things & scaring the bejesus out of myself later. LOL (always when DH is out of town & the dog starts barking).
I never tried the audio books. I bet they are great. books are so great for winding down from work. really get lost in the words. great escape.
Saundra, I did get rid of my Fitprimes. & all my Firms. I only have yoga now. full blown yoga. I just don't see myself ever going back to traditional western weight training anymore. the treadmill is my cardio. scarey huh? who'd a thunk? If someone told me what I'd be like & doing now, I'd tell them, "they were crazy".
I've completely changed my way of thinking in the exercise spectrum.
I finally found what is really working for me. I feel amazing. physically I love how I look.
good for you Girlfriend on the WW plan! I hope your weigh-in on Saturday makes "your day". remember it's a New Year & a fresh start.
did you come to like any of your salad dressings?
I have become jaded with others opinions on certain workouts. meaning I'm not surprised how you felt with the Chaleans. sometimes I think are these people serious? are you kidding me? are we on the same planet or what? maybe some people are so much easier than me to please, now? I dunno.
I'm still trying to figure out all the raves about the Wave?
your right, working on a empty stomach somehow is an appetite depressant. do make sure your getting your proper nutrition though. you need to fuel your body so it will work properly.;)
never let yourself get too hungry. this is key not to get there or it leads to a binge.

Hi Ladies:
Lori I was watching the news yesterday and they talked about your area, not your area really but they talked about Washington state and the miserable weather they have been having with the snow.
My house getting finished is still in limbo the well man is not quite finished yet and should I mention the weather again has been holding us back.
I have to say I miss going every weekend to the house I have been a little bored one the weekends.
To bad we all didn't live a little closer to each other to have a get together.
Saundra As for the Jenny Craig program I don't have to pay anything to join I just can go in and get the food. I joined over 13 years ago when they offered a lifetime program so for me it's a matter of just paying for the food. And if I want the discount program. I do have to say I do like the convenice of it not worrying about what I am going to eat.
I read alot of books, I read a lot of those trashey romance novels though and some mystery and suspense. and of course those diet books.
Annette everytime I see college football on TV I think of you.
So are you doing your mini workouts between commercials?
I need to do some organizing around my house, because I was waiting to move a lot of things I have put off doing thinking my house would be done soon and I would do it then well now I am just sick of things all over the place
or just to much clutter.
Not a real workout today just 20 minutes of walking.

I feel for ya, Diane...this winter sucks b.igtime!
right now we're just basically thawing out. flooding everywhere.
waiting for "what's next"?
I don't know about you all, but, I'm glad it's Friday today. I'm so looking forward to sleeping in this weekend.
crm549
January 9th, 2009, 01:18 AM
Lori, I am definately going to enjoy this weekend because I am not on standby. I had standby two weekends in a row and it sucked.
Lori I will have to look up Anne Rule. My mom used to read these magazine short stories Called True Stories. I would read them every once in awhile. It is amazing the things that happen in real life. There are so many crappy people in the world. I personally believe that about 75 to 80% of the destruction that goes on in our world is because of human beings. We talk about weather alot but I believe weather is a small fraction of the harm it actually does to us as a society.
A couple of months ago, I saw this episode on MSNBC called the Longest Night. This actually happen in Austria. A man kept his daughter (had 7 children with her) in a dungeon for 24 years. Supposedly his wife (her mother) new nothing about it. That story stayed with me for days.
Sometimes I will go long periods without watching the new because I don't want to hear about all the junk going on. Someone once said to me, "If the World is About to **** Up, somebody will knock on your door and tell you."
I can't believe you got rid of all the FitPrimes and FIRMs. Wow. I don't think I can ever do that even if I thought I didn't want to do the workouts again. That must be so liberating though.
Amazon is having a sale on workouts. I keep telling myself I have to stick to the plan for 2009. Seriously though, I need to pay down my credit card.
Diane, that is super cool about Jenny Craig. In that case, I say do it when it's convenient for you to do so. I used to be a huge fan of Harlequin and Silouette novels. I used to eat these books for breakfast. In fact I still have a *** chunk of my collection left. I really don't by them anymore. Maybe once or twice a year I will get one but I am usually disappointed. Mostly I will go back and re-read one of my older romance novels.
I do tend to buy cookbooks. Mostly Weight Watchers. Anytime they put out a new cookbook, I buy. I don't know why because I have yet to cook anything from it. Plus they don't have pictures for many of the recipes which irritate me to know end.
I am checking in with Treadmill pre-programmed workouts. I was trying to do an IFIT workout but the card kept resetting on me and after the 3rd time of doing the same 3 to 5 minutes, I moved on to something else.
Have a good Friday ladies.
Saundra
Lori
January 9th, 2009, 03:37 AM
Saundra, it was very liberating. & I felt good knowing right around Christmas-time someone was/is thrilled to have gotten their hands on my old collection.
I know somebody's enjoying them as much as I once did. great feeling.
yep, it was time for me to move on. change is good.
you'd like any of Ann (I put an e on the end of her name, it has no e on Ann, oops) Rule's books. if you can get your on hands on her Ted Bundy (The Stranger Beside Me) story. she actually worked with him.
why I really like her stuff, is she's from the Seattle area & all her stories are from around my neck of the woods. alot of the creeps she writes about are visiting here or from Washington state. she wrote about the Green River Killer.
I like how I can relate to the places she writes about. I've been there & know exactly what she's talking about. really cool.
one of her best stories is called Small Sacrifices. it was made into a tv movie. with Farrah Fawcett & Ryan O'Neal?
her Ted Bundy story was made into a tv movie too, with Mark Harmon?
she's had some of her other books made into movies too, but, off the top of my head I can remember the titles.
bet my last dollar, you'd be hooked if you started on her.
great writer. she's so easy to read, but, she gets you right into her storytelling. hard to put down.
I know the story your talking about from the MSNBC. I read quite abit about it in the paper. disgusting, huh? I like to read about these kind of people. I mean their your neighbours or the guy standing behind you in the grocery market. I like to be aware. my DH says it makes me over suspicious of everyone. LOL I don't trust anyone.
I sometimes have to stop watching the news. especially CNN. it can become very overwhelming & get depressing. so much war, killing & like you said, human beings not being human beings. & if there's any kind of cruelty to animals, I cannot bear to watch it. I don't like to bury my head in the sand or be some pollyanna...but, I do pick & choose which stories I watch. not good to overload on all that bad stuff.
sounds like that IFIT card is buggered up. can you exchange it?
what's catching your eye at amazon? anything interesting?
crm549
January 9th, 2009, 10:22 AM
Lori, I don't know if it is the IFIT card. It only happen when I plugged in my new Ipod. Before that it wasn't doing that. But I also create a lot of friction when I walk. I am always shocking myself.
I don't know Lori. I am not a real fan of True Life Stories. I like to keep my head in the clouds. When I want a does of reality, I watch the News. But I am definately like you in that I trust very few people. People are crazy.
I am trying not to let anything catch my eye, but Amazon, has some dancd DVDs on sale. They even had a clip up of Lisa Rinna's new workouts. She was on Dancing With the Stars. I rarely watch DWTS but she has an awesome body. You can tell she works at it. I also looke at Mel B Totally Fit clip, it was interesting, but I think I will pass.
Janet Evanovich who write the Stephanie Plum bounty hunter series sets her books in New Jersey. I don't live there but she also has Stephanie going up and down the east coast and several of the places she reference I have been too and/or even lived neared.
I feel pretty good today. Tomorrow I go weigh-in at WW. If I have not gained any weight I will consider it a success.

I saw Lisa's dvds at the Blockbuster when my DH rented a movie. I love Mel B., now she has an awesome body. great personality too.
is your weigh in center close to home?
it probably is you (not your IFIT card), my husband is like that. very electric. he kills every watch he owns? weird. he also has this creepy thing about him whenever we're driving in the car, alot of the street lights burn out? seriously weird? doo-doo-doo-doo (Twilight Zone).
any other plans this weekend?
tomorrow I have to take my car in for AirCare. blah. what a drag. will try & go early to avoid line ups.
I have to take some of DH's clothes in for drycleaning & alterations on my yoga pants. (they need to be hemmed) I'm going to take another pair of white jeans in as well. I won't wear them until the summer, but, I figure I'm going there now.
off to watch the hockey game. catch up with you later.

Hi y'all,
Diane *** hugs to you! I know winter doesn't help with the moodiness! I'll send sun shine your way>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>!
Lori, I get in my phases of doing something then I totally burn out, and try something else, until I burn out. I am a cyclic person for sure.
Saundra, I have never tried audio books. I get engrossed enough with sports talk! I can imagine me driving I26 :D LOL I am reading Vince Flynn's newest book, Extreme Measures. And reading Debs. Still have about 6 books that I need to finish up. I have a habit of having several books going at the same time.
I think I have Book ADD or AHD! Not sure.
This week I started 90 Day Rotation. But those days I have cardio, I will do a specific body part. For example, it was Core Cardio 2 and I added Mark Blanchard's The Core-I knocked out both yoga and abs.
I have switched up probotics, added more enzyemes and cholestrol supplements. What a *** difference. I needed to get back on my supplement regime.
Yep college football season has finally ended! I did see the 2nd 1/2 of the FL/OK game. Since arena football season has been cancelled, I can probably get more workouts done and housework! :D Like taking down the Christmas tree and decorations inside!
Y'all have a great weekend!!!
Lori
January 10th, 2009, 12:34 AM
ok, I have one for you all. (Saundra, you got this started, from your getting to know each other abit more. started from our weather & book talk).
they say (who's they anyhow?) you can tell alot about a person by the music they listen to.
what right now, at this moment, are you listening to in your car? name the cd's!
I have John Mayer's 3 disc Where The Light Is. boy, he sings & plays even better live!
ok, after you've named your cd's. what kind of music or who do you all like to listen to? name some of your favourites.
here's mine: love Prince. (stop laughing). have all his stuff. Fergie. Beach Boys. Enrique Iglesias. (love his stuff) INXS.
listen to top 40. love hip hop. & I have this thing for Dean Martin? I know, it's weird?!
what's the last cd you bought? mine was the John Mayer. I want Beyonce's latest. I love that song of hers, "Single Ladies". I can't get it out of my mind.
just thought it be fun to list. something else to talk about, right?
I looked at my yoga dvd's still to go. I still have 4 weeks left, that I haven't tried yet. one dvd has 9 workouts on it. it actually has more sessions. but, I'm only doing any that are 30 minutes or longer. that dvd is well worth the $. what a bargain that is. BodyWisdom dvd, same as the Barbara Benagh's that I was raving about. only a different instructor. her name is Maggie Rhoades. she's alright. can't say I love her instructing style. but, she's ok. this dvd is Yoga for Weight Loss. uses bands & light weights.
I'll pop in later. have a good one girls!
Annette, now what are you going to watch after football?
crm549
January 10th, 2009, 03:30 AM
I had a very good weigh in. Lost 3lbs. Much happy about that. ;) I didn't expect to see a significant loss for a couple of weeks.
Lori, you had asked about my salad dressing: Most of the ones I bought are Wishbonee Salad Spritzers:
French Flair - didn't care for
Italian Viniargrette - Like a lot
Red Wine Mist - Like A Lot
Caesar's Delight - was okay
Balsamic Breeze - was okay I think. Don't remember
Honey Mustard Buzz - Haven't tried yet
Wishbone Bountiful's dressings:
Heart Italian - like a lot
Tuscan Romano Basil - Didn't like this one at all
Kraft Pouches:
Light Balsamic Vinaigrette - Love this one. I was surprised because it didn't smell that good.
Light Zesty Italian - Also very good
Light Ranch Dressing - good but I had this before so I knew I would like it. Out of all the salad dressings this one has the most calories per servings. It come in at a whopping 60 calories.
Overall I have been very please and glad that I decided to give these things a try.

Lori, I rarely by music CDs anymore. Most I just download the music to my IPOD. I currently have over 2 thousand songs on my IPOD and that is not even my whole collection.
I used to really be into music and listening too music. I still love listening to music but I don't keep up on the new stuff. And I love love love my IPOD.
Currently my favorite playlist contains songs from Led Zepplin, Tantric, NONpoint, & Metallic.
Another playlis I listen to frequently has songs from Santana, Bruce Springsteen, Shakira, and Andred 3000.
Then there are my favorite ladies - Sade, Teena Marie. I also like Shirley Bassey.
And Yes right now I have a Prince Playlist with about 12 of his songs. Some of my favorite Prince Songs are When Doves Cry, Kiss, Let's Go Crazy, I hate U, and Under the Cherry Moon.
I have have a 50cents playlist. So I am all over the place.
I don't think I heard Beyonce latest. I will go to Itunes and listen to a clip of her. Overall I tend not to like her music but every once in awhile she puts out something I would like. If fact a couple of her songs are on my Sade, Teena Marie playlist.
Annette, glad that you enjoyed your Bowl season. I can't listen to talk radio about sports in my area. It always about the Redskins and the Nationals.

Hey Saundra, WAY TO GO! I mean WEIGH TO GO! that's awesome for your first week! I'm giving you a standing ovation. can you hear me clapping?
keep it up. that must of felt good. 3lbs.
you obviously worked hard at it. good girl. you should be proud of yourself.
that is a great start!
well, I'm confessing. I broke our pact already. yup, bought 3 yoga dvds! I went to buy Beyonce's cd (got Kid Rock's new one too). all of a sudden, 3 yoga dvds were in my hands while standing in the line up to pay. saw Lisa Rinna's dvds & thought of you Saundra.
my girlfriend loves those Wish Bone Spritzers. I'm not sure which ones she likes.
I do like Kraft's Pouches. same as you. love the Light Ranch & Zesty Italian. but, not a fan of balsamic vinegar. not sure why. I love other flavors of vinegar?
snowing again. got my car home before it really started to come down.
my DH gave me a really nice IPOD & I ended up giving it to my nephew. I'm sure I would have kept it if I was still working.
Prince is such an awesome songwriter. I just love his words. Saundra, you said you liked dance workouts. do you ever go out & dance? to the clubs?
we used to go out when we we're younger. then we stopped. the crowds really seemed to change. I love Andre 3000. He reminds me alot of Prince when he was younger.
everyone else you named I like alot of their stuff too. I pretty much like everyone & everything. alittle bit of this & alittle bit of that. country, has some stuff I like. rap, heavy metal. the only thing I don't really like it punk.
who's Teena Marie? now that is a new name to me. must google & see.
I'm like you, all over the place too.
DH loves Beyonce. I don't normally like her either, but that song, I can't get it out of my head. DH loves her song, "IF I Were A Boy".
bug you again later.

Hi y'all,
Katie has an Ipod and yesterday she showed me the workout section of the Ipod. I still have my cassette player (walkman-good for those Firm walk tapes), MP3 player and cd player. I enjoy different types of music as well. But Sting is my main man! I saw in him concert and Tina Turner. That woman made me sweat just by looking at her!
I knew it Lori! I knew it wouldn't last long w/o purchasing another yoga dvd! Only, how many 11 days or so :D LOL I am thinking about getting the 2nd season of Namaste yoga for my birthday. I am really enjoying these workouts.
Diane, hope you are doing well and keeping warm! It is 70o here. I'll send warmth and sunshine y'alls way.
Today I did Cardio Step Mix and Exalted Warrior from NY. I am sore from last night. I did Upper Body and LaRhiene's Legs, etc. My upper body is realllllllly sore with major DOMS.
After dinner, takin' power nap, Katie sings tonight and Andrew has to read one of the lessons.
Y'all have a great day!

Oh Lori, we are hopeless. I bought the two Lisa Rinna workouts.
And loosing the 3lbs did feel good. So now I am heading into my second week and I still feel pretty good about my new plan and about executing my new plan.
Annette, love love love Sting. Like I have a playlist dedicated to Prince. I also have one dedicated to Sting.
Lori, I used to go dancing all the time when I was younger and in the military. When I was in high school, I was on my high school's drill team (essentially a dance team). We preformed at football and basketball games. We went to camp and competed in local, regional and state competitions.
I am an checking in with Tough Tape and 20 minutes on the treadmill.

oh, I'm so glad you posted that, Saundra.
you made me feel alot better. (you caving too) LOL what a sad pair.
post when you do the Lisa's. I heard they are tough.
I bet you were in awesome physical shape Saundra. not to say you aren't now either. but, back in the day, dancing & practicing all the time like that....really keeps you in shape. fun too, I bet.
you have a great attitude with your plan, I have no doubt you'll reach your goals quickly, Saundra. ;)
I had a friend who saw Prince in Seattle a few years back now. she said he was amazing. the most coolest show ever. he played for 3 hours straight. she said he sounded better live. & he played every single instrument on stage. she made me so jealous. LOL

Hi Ladies:
Annette where did you get the 70 degree weather from, come Friday it is supposed to be really cold here.
Saundra congrats on the 3 pounds and it did snow here on Saturday so it was a miss for me again last week. Yes I get the cookbooks and rarely use them. what do you usually eat for lunch I have been having progresso soups lately. they have been on sale at a store here.
I find the Silouette and Harlequin books a let down lately to they are not as good as they used to be.
Lori I like top 40 music also I am a *** fan of Roxette, the guy singers voice just gets me. And because of my niece she has me listening to the Jonas Brothers and Hannah montana. they are on my mp3 player that I use in the car so I usually just leave it on the player. The Christmas music though I did delete.
I have been busy lately, my niece and nephew stayed over this weekend and shoveling snow boy this time really heavy with the ice on top I felt it in my abs this morning when I woke up.
The tenents move out of the apartment that my husband rents out so I have been helping him clean is up and he has been changing some things around so its been a mess. I don't understand people some times they took all the smoke detectors out if they don't want they should give them back don't throw them out. They cost money. This time he is going to hook them up directly to the electric. Maybe if they kept the smoke detectors hooked up they might have know there was a fire that night.
My workout today was the last workout on the Gin Millers build you muscles.

Hey Diane, nice to hear from you again.
raining here. misty rain. warmer temps. tomorrow through Saturday, sunshine predicted. Hallelujah!
well since I broke my pact with you Saundra. I bought 5 more yoga dvds. LOL
I went to the mall this morning & picked up a couple of Kabbalah yoga dvds. don't know what those will be like? & 3 other regular yoga dvds. there sure are alot of yoga dvds out there.
I bought a yoga towel too. thought it would be nice for the summer months.
I have slid around sweaty on my yoga mat in the past. this is to lay on top of your yoga mat. same length & is some "so called" special material to wick.
planning to take my dog to the school for a walk with my mom. we have to drive him there. it's a b.ig private school, we usually walk him around the grounds.
we have to drive because there is still so much snow on the sides of the roads. no paths yet.
the poor little guy hasn't been for his walkies since Dec.16. he's so used to going everyday.
I've only been able to take him to the end of street to pick up the mail & that's pretty much all he could take.
I bought a gigantic crockpot cookbook last Sunday. do any of you use a crockpot? I've tried a few times, haven't found a recipe yet that we love using it. hopefully I'll find some from this book.
well, I better tidy up my place before DH gets home.

Hi y'all,
Yes I meant to tell ya congrats about the weight loss, you go Saundra! My weight is about the same this week. But I feel a little bit toner.
Diane, as soon as we left 5:00 Mass on Sunday, it was cold again. I think the highest was around 50 today. But it sunny. I don't understand why people take out the smoke dectectors either. And a lot of other things I have seen people take.
Lori, Kabbalah yoga is different from power yoga but I think you will like it. I did the Advanced hadn't tried the immediate. Usually I see them at Ross. I am glad your life didn't DEPEND on your not purchasing any more dvds! LOL
Dave got an over the top, lets feed the army, navy, air force and marines crock pot. I liked the other one better. It had a temp gauge, and it was kinda like a fry daddy. But you slow cook in it as well.
I did Firm Strength with Pamela. I am still sore from Saturday's Upper Body. And FS does a great job with upper body. Then I added cardio. In a few minutes, I'll do Namaste yoga.
Diane and Saundra, what are we going to do with that Lori :D LOL!?!

January 12th, 2009, 08:17 AM
Diane, that is such a safety hazard. I can't believe they will take out all the smoke detectors. We didn't get any snow here this weekend. I barely ventured outside though. I just had an incredible lazy weekend - although I did workout out and shop online for stuff I didn't need.
Lori, I am glad that I made you feel better. You made me feel better too.
I do have a crockpot, but don't use it. It is one of those double sided crockpots that lets you cook two meals at the same time. I just recently bought a Wok - to cook healthier but I may send it back. Am I really going to use it - probably not. I like things that are easy - that I can microwave. We'll see.
Lori what's your dog name?

January 12th, 2009, 09:44 AM
Saundra, my dog's name is Cheemo. thanks for asking. he's like my son. my gosh.
he's an American Eskimo the toy size. cheemo means friend in Eskimo. tried to pick something original. he's such a good friend. especially now that I'm not working & home all the time. he's great company.
I'll see if I can get DH to post his picture. I don't think we can post pictures here for some reason? I tried before with my snow pictures?
anyhow he's my little angel, DH says he's a devil-dog. LOL
the walk to the school was stressful. he was really aggressive when someone got too close. I think it's because he hasn't been there for awhile. & all those white snow banks make him feel closed in? I dunno. but, it wasn't enjoyable for me. but, he got out for abit, at least 35 minutes & a car ride.
I had one of those monster crockpots too, & gave it away. I think it was 6 quart. it was too b.ig. everything I tried wasn't great. someone told me to get a smaller one. which I did, I'm hoping to at least try it a few times. this one's a 3 quart. supposed to be for 2-3 people.
Annette, your gonna have to lock me & Saundra up in the crazy house! or take away our cc's.
I better go & start supper. I'm making some recipe for chicken pot pie. it sounds simple enough. it has Bisquick on top.
Annette, I saw a whole bunch of new Namaste Yoga dvds in the stores. they must have some new ones out? different covers, are they newer series? which ones are you wanting for your birthday?
ahh, people will take anything if it's not screwed or nailed down. we just had to buy a new smoke detector a couple of weekends ago. it kept going off for no reason. it was an electric one. pretty old.

Lori, it is telling me that I don't have permission to view the picture.
Is Cheemo pronounce with a CH or a K sound?
My mom loves chicken pot pie. I like bisquick, but I like to use it for biscuits, pancakes and waffles.
I am annoyed with work again. They are trying to get people to come in and work Inaugration Day after telling us we will not be working it because the bldg would be close.
Because I know how they are, I had already decided that I was putting in for it off and made sure I got it in before anyway else. There is no way I am going to try to go downtown Washington DC next Tuesday. You can' t drive and you have to have a special ticket to use the trains. It is insane. They make me absolutely sick with the last minute ****!
Anyway - I will stop griping now. Lori all my crockpot does is collect dust. I think the reason that I don't like using it - is because it is a pain to clean.
Going to go workout now.

I'd be swearing like a sailor, on that stunt!
I'm sure this crockpot will be a dust collector too. so far it has been.
my chicken potpie was so good. really simple too, ready in about a hour.
the Bisquick made bisquits on top. delicious! they had lemon zest grated into it. lovely. lots for leftovers tonite.
Cheemo is a ch, not a k sound.
still waiting on that sunshine we were supposed to be getting. been postponed till tomorrow now.

ok, so I bought two different yoga sets called Yoga Pulse. (must be a popular name choice?). one set is 4 dvds with Argie Tang & the other is a 6 dvd set with Anastasia.
anyhow, yesterday I started to do the 4 dvd set Yoga Pulse with Argie Tang. 3 dvds run at a hour & the 4th is an express 30 minute dvd. they use light weights.
my initial impression yesterday was, I'm not so sure. I did for some reason stick with the workout. it had it's good points. the bad was the cueing isn't the greatest, but, if your not a beginner, you'll do fine. Argie's voice isn't exactly a yoga sounding voice. not that there's anything wrong with her voice, it just wasn't what I would call calming.
all in all, I thought the dvd was alright.
well, this morning my glutes were very sore. as well as my abs & triceps. she does alot of intergrated pilates moves as well.
so, this morning I did Yoga Pulse II.
I really liked it. actually alot more than Volume 1.
they are tough. but, not so tough that you can't do it.
Volume II has different moves & so far I'm recommending these.
if your looking for a twist from the regular, same old, same old yoga dvds, these are your answer. they are great for bone building.
they are very reasonably priced.

I think voice is important. I know with some of my audio books - sometimes the reader's voice turns me off from listening to the book at all - or at the very least it can be distracting so that I am not getting all I can out of it.
I think I saw one of those Yoga pulse systems at TotalFitnessdvds. Did I tell you that I ordered two of the same workouts, but they were given different names so I didn't realized that. I plan to send the one that cost $12.99 back.

I'll email my pictures tomorrow Saundra. DH moved them into some file now & I can't find them? he's going straight to the hockey game tonite after work with his buddies, so I won't see him till tomorrow. I am so useless on here. LOL
I would like to eventually post my picture on my avatar though. it's always nice to place a face to who your talking to, don't you think?
I did order these Yoga Pulse's from totalfitnessdvds. she definitely grows on you. especially when I felt the results. I will say Argie Tang is very incouraging actually. she seems sweet. she looks alot like Suzanne Deason. she packs alot in the 60 minutes. no rest. I like that she doesn't actually over cue.
you know how sometimes when you've done the video a few times, it starts to grate on your nerves after the 50th time. it's like, come on, come on...
I'm gonna do volume 3 tomorrow. I'm quite pleased with this purchase. worth the $.
pleasantly surprised, because like I said, intially, I was thinking I wasn't going to like them all that much. glad I stuck with it & finished the workout. turned out to be quite alright after all.
what duplicates did you order? I hate that. you have to be so careful now. Gaiam is really bad for that.
Saundra, have you noticed totalfitnessdvds hasn't had the coming soon feature for awhile? I miss it & keep looking for it?

Hi y'all, just a quick hello!
It has gotten colder here, BRRRRrabbit weather for sure!
Saundra, that is pitiful about work. I meant to ask about closings on that day.
Lori, I had Pulse Yoga, and I really didn't like them. They remoinded me of Lotte Berke and Callantics. But they do work the core. I prefered Iron Yoga better.
Speaking of yoga, y'all are sooooooo wearin' off on me, I traded one of my dvds for ***gest Loser Yoga!
My house is full of dust collectors.....Dave must think ever times he tries a new receipe calls for a new dust collector. If I can't cook with one pot and one pan, it ain't happenin'! :D
Anyway, I did today, Tracie's Scupted Legs, etc., and The Hare. It was a Tracie day. Then Namaste yoga.
I am not sure of how many seasons of Namaste yoga there are. I think the first 2 has the voice of Kate Potter. I like her voice. The other voice over I don't care for.
I'll talk at y'all later, gotta get dinner on the table, or my family will hate me even more :D

Hi All:
Lori I have a crockpot but rarely use it, my sister has one her husband uses it a lot to cook dinner.
Saundra I have one where the insert comes out so its not so bad to clean.
The traffic was really stinky today it took me so long to get home and the pot holes are just driving me nuts I am so afraid of getting a flat tire. You get to know where they are and then all of the sudden there is a new one that of course is canyon sized and I just don't miss it.
Do you ladies get up during the night to go to the bathroom? Well the past couple of nights I have been sleeping straight through but of course I am getting up earlier because I have to go to the bathroom and I only have an hour or so before I have to get up. So I have been tired during the day.
Saundra do you order the CIA dvd's through the CIA site or a different site.
I ordered through the CIA Site and they also included a free dvd which I thought was nice. They didn't have any specials listed so I wasn't expecting anything. I ordered some *** Gasper Dvd's I didn't have I like that they have the premixes on the dvd's now.
Annette I don't know what we are going to do with Lori.
50 degrees would be nice also. Think of me the next couple of days freezing my b.utt off the weather is supposed to be frigid.
Saundra what kind of food do you eat doing WW? I have been having a lot of packaged food lately and I am getting sick of it.

Diane, I always have to go to bathroom - doesn't matter what time of day it is but it is especially irritating at night particularly during this time of year when is cold and I have to get out of my warm bed.
I usually order CIA throught Advance Workouts or Totalfitness DVDs. Usually they are slightly cheaper at those site. Amy Bento is having a presale on her site for her new CIA video on January 15.
Lori, yes Total Fitness DVDs coming soon page is almost non-existent. I am think Mary doesn't have enough time to keep it updated. I usually go there alot and to Collage Video to look at their coming soon page.
Diane I am not a fan of cooking so I have been eating most pre-packaged. Usually WW, Lean Cuisine and South Beach Living. I buy the salad packs that are already prepackaged and then I just add salad dressing. This week and last week I hav been have grapes and oranges as my fruit. The oragnes though don't taste that great. I trully hate bad tasting fruit.
I also try to drink a smoothing once a day. I use Andrew Lessman Secure Soy Protein Meal Replacement. I really don't use it as a meal replacement more like a snack replacement.
I just recent bought a box of Steaks from QVC. They come prepackage in 4oz sizes. It is suppose to arrive Jan 30th. I also bought from Wal-Mart prepackage Salmon and Tilapea fish. I am going to try to cook these. We will see how long that last.
Oh since its winter, I also eat a bowl of oatmeal. I do not normally eat oatmeal in the summer, I consider oatmeal to be a winter food.
For Jenny Craig, do you actually get her food and if so how is it taste wise?
Annette, I usually use the same pot and pan over and over again. Although, I have plenty but there is a couple that keeps getting called on.

Hi Saundra:
The food is great if you like the Lean Cusine you would like the Jenny food.
There are some dinnners that are not frozen they are not my favorites but they do taste better than Nutri System dinners.
The Lean Cusine's have been on sale at my super market last week they were $1.68 and this week they are a 1.88 you can beat the price. So I can't see spending almost $6.00 a dinner for Jenny Craig the breakfast and lunches are a little cheaper.
My vegetables have been lacking expect if I have soup for lunch then I just mix veggies in. As for fruit I have been using ones that have been on sale also I have been using the canned kind or I should say the jar kind I actually like the fruit in a glass jar no can taste if you don't finish it I just put the lid back on.
you just reminded me my husband bought grapes he will be ticked off if I let them go bad.

Hi Diane,
The only reason I don't do can or jar fruit is because they are suppose to be packed with extra calories. Although the way the "fresh" fruit has been tasting lately, can fruit may be the way to go.
$6.00 is a lot. I always try to stock up on Lean Cuisine when they are on sale. Right now I am trying to eat all the frozen foods in my freezer before I go out and buy another batch. I just tried WW chicken fajita pizza and pepperoni pizza this week. I didn't like the chicken fajita but the pepperoni tasted good.
WW also sales this mini peanut ****er chocolate snack bar - it's one point - I think it is pretty tasty.
I am checking in with Amy Bento Hi Lo Dome Challenge.

HI y'all,
Diane, pot holes jump in front of me all time. 1.5 gain is not bad especially over the holidays. I usually go the bathroom around 3:00 every morning, the same time I got up to nurse both of my children, and about the same time I get serious hot flashes! It is like clockwork!
Saundra I try and get fresh fruit when it is one sale, today Food Lion had grapes 99 cents a pound. Usually I get the apple/orange mix and keep it the bowl to eat. I end up making applesauce. Katie likes oranges. I do on occassion get frozen berries to mix with my ice cream. I also like canned fruit w/o the syrup and citrus combo in the refrig section. You can also get it cut up.
Lori stay waaaay from that Walmart! :D NO put that yoga dvd down. I am watchin' you. And I am watchin' all the fitness sites! LOL Seriously I hope y'all are okay.
Yesterday didn't get a chance to workout. Today I did both Upper/Lower body Fitprime and Tough Cardio Mix.

Next week I am going to give the WAVE system another try. As I am still waiting for STS to show up.
I got rope into coming into work on Monday. After tonight I was supposed to be off until Wednesday.
I have dental tomorrow and I haven't been wearing my bands like I am suppose to so I will probably get yelled at. They can be so cumbersome.
I was in Costcos and they were having a buy one get one for free on exercise videos. I resisted, but I did buy 4 cookbooks. They were $8 a piece and had lots of pictures.

I did get the Momentum cookbook at the WW meeting the other day, I am looking for some dinner ideas I am getting a little tired of the frozen dinners.
Oh work I actually have a day off tomarrow my sister is not feeling well and decided to call in sick.
I am supposed to have dinner with friends tomarrow night and I kind of don't feel like it even though I haven't seen them for a while and I should go.
But with this cold weather all I feel like doing is staying inside under the covers.
Are you getting any of this cold weather it's 12 degrees right now.
I have to tell I know Lori was tired of talking about the weather but I am so sick of shoveling snow and it's only January. It wouldn't be so bad if I was driving my Trail blazer but with driving the car the driveway has to be cleaned or I won't make it up the hill.
Do they lower the heat at night or something? what about the people who have to work. I hate being cold I know everyone is trying to save money, but at my sister house every day I keep my coat on. Her husband keeps the heat at 55 degrees. Probably why my sister has a cold all of the time.
I hope the STS are worth the wait.

Saundra I ended up having the day off, but ended up at Home Depot with my hubby all day. He needed to get stuff for the apartment he is remodeling.
He has a pick up truck but more things fit in the Trail Blazer than the truck.
Of course no one was around to help my husband put the stuff in the truck so I am freezing my b.utt off helping him put the sheet rock on top of his truck, towards the end our neighbor saw us and helped hime finish.
My son has been using the Trail blazer as I mentioned he has some kind of stinkey smell in it. I will have to clean in out when I get it back.
Its cold there also, I keep my heat cooler at night also I think we put it down to 66 degrees but during the day I like to be comfortable.
Hi Annette.
So I ended up not working for the day.

Lori stay waaaay from that Walmart! :D NO put that yoga dvd down. I am watchin' you. And I am watchin' all the fitness sites! LOL
LMAO...no, really, I've been good.
ahh, let's see. I have alot of catching up to do! been reading all your posts. you girls were busy!
peeing at nite...I make of point of doing my best not to drink anything after supper. I pay for it, even if I have a cup of tea. I thought I had a small bladder. obviously, we all do!? I hate stumbling to the bathroom in the middle of the night.
potholes, potholes, potholes! or should I say craters!?
a couple of years ago, my DH hit one so bad he had wrecked his rims & a tire. $600 later.:(
be careful of those potholes! sometimes you can't swerve around them in time to miss them.
Diane, I hope you don't get all those darn winterstorms we got! (15 of them!)
it's been fairly decent here the last few days & I've been taking advantage of them! that's where I've been missing in action from here.
been taking the dog for abit of a farther walk again these past few days. Saundra, did you get my pictures? hope they turned out?
Annette & Diane, I couldn't email you them, because I don't have your email addresses. if you want to see, pm me your email addresses. or Saundra can forward them to you?
I finished off the Pulse Yoga set. I have to say that I really, really liked them. each day I was sorer than I was the day before. & in a different spot.
they really hit my glutes & triceps. the 3'rd dvd I was sore in the old saddlebag area & that for me is a hard spot to hit.
today I did 2 All The Right Moves (a 7 peice set) with Grace Lazenby. now Annette, these reminded me of Lotte Berk (but, better).
I have to say I really liked these so far as well, also.
again, I think previous yoga experience is needed. not much instruction.
I'm glad with these purchases.
DH came home early yesterday & today. not good. his work is very slow.
he's not sure he will have a job there in a year.
scarey.
time to buckle down, $-wise.
Saundra, I saw your next purchase.....Petra Kolber 10 minute Solution Dance dvd. huh?! am I right? preorder?
Diane, that plane crash was a miracle! holy smokes! unbelievable.
what is your son stinkin' up your Trail Blazer with? LOL
your poor sis'...55, that's cold. I have the furnace cranked up to 72. poor thing.
1.4lbs over Christmas is good. you did good. ;)
Saundra, I'm like you, I like the pictures with the recipes. I'm such a visual person anyhow & I like to see what the food is "supposed" to look like.
have a good weigh-in tomorrow.
have a nice weekend everybody.

Lori:

What does you husband do? Are you nervous? My husband is in construction so its not been fun especially with the new house that we have yet to move into.
Saundra is the President-elect coming any where near you ?
Did you get the STS shipping notice not much longer

Diane, I am nervous. my DH is in the construction field also.
he works in a mill where they make lamented wood beams. Weyerhauser Parallam. your DH probably has heard about them?
& as you well know then also, nobody's building houses or any other construction.:(
he's worked there for 23 years.
but, what can you do? nothing. no sense getting ill over it, right?
you want to know something horrible? 2 men committed suicide at his mill.
it's all so sudden, everything was going hunky-dorry here, then BAM your told "we're in a recession".
it wasn't something that people here saw was a 'coming'. it just happened instantly?
Diane, does your son work or go to school?
Diane, you must have been sore from loading the sheet rock?
I forgot, did you order the STS's too?
I wasn't sure if you had the same email address, with you getting the new laptop? I'll send my doggie pictures. the 2nd one you can barely see him at the bottom of our sundeck stairs. he kind of blends in with the snow.
BTW, how's your weather?
Saundra, weird coincidence...my mom was showing me some books she bought & lo & behold...she has an autobiography about Agatha Christie! now is that creepy or what?
I'm betting it would be rather interesting. you probably have read it already? yes?
what's happening in the weather department where you are, Saundra?
I woke up wide awake at 4:30 this morning. I thought I am not getting up now! I was so looking forward to sleeping in today. I eventually fell back to sleep, until 7:30. & then woke with a pounding headache.
umm, what else can I talk about? that's somewhat interesting enough?:
the Olympic Village for the athletes we are building, is the b.ig topic here.
everyone's in an uproar because, now of course it is costing more than planned.
b.ig scandal...same old, same old, that happens to every Olympic host city.
costs are running over in the millions & will cost all the taxpayers.
what are your plans this weekend, girls?
Saundra, you said you like to go early to your weigh-ins. you don't sleep in, even on your days off?
Annette, how did Miss Katie do, with her singing?

Lori:
Must be the day for going back to sleep I woke up earlier and went back to sleep for an hour or so.
My son did go to school but did not get a job in the field he went to college for,
criminal justice. I can't complain now at least he has a job where many people don't. He works for a Super Market I don't know if you know it Stop and Shop.
He gets bennifits and vacations so I don't really complain. One day he will decide to do something. I feel if thats what he is staying with he should at least try to move up there but he doesn't do that either.
Did the suicides happen because of the recession or was there something else going on? It doesn't make things better for the families who had to deal with it.

Diane, one of the fellows was laid off. he jumped off a bridge.
the other guy, came totally out of the blue? he seemed so happy. like he had no problems in the world. nobody expected it.
his plant has had grief councellors in, & they were told that not all suicides, have signs of "crys for help" beforehand. no clues or indications, signals for friends or loved ones to see.
difficult.
you never really know what someone else is thinking or what their going through. sad. one of my main reasons to try & be nice to everyone I meet.
which brings me around to how nasty some people treat other people, say just on other forums for instance. you know what I mean?
the secretary at my DH's plant, her husband hung himself in their garage. She & her 2 young boys came home from school & found him. how gruesome.
I'll change the subject.
criminal justice, very interesting. yep, your right, no complaining....he's working & has benefits. that's a good thing. besides he's young, he has lots of time to do something he really wants to do when the economy gets better again.
it's good he's getting experience plain old working period.
I wasn't sure if you had the same email address. did you get your new laptop, yet?
