When doing ab work in some of the older firms, we put our heels to our b*ttocks and crunch, then drop our feet towards the ground, then crunch again etc. Maybe I just have a b*g b*tt, but I can't keep the small of my back on the ground. Do I a) keep my low back on the ground and only drop my legs as far as they will go or b) allow my low back to come off the ground in a controlled fashion?

The same thing with the "bicycle" - I have to shoot my legs up at an angle in order to keep my low back on the ground. Help!

Hi, Lisa! I agree. My understanding is that keeping your lower back flat is key. Reduce your range of motion and you shouldn't have any problem doing so.
