Workout Partners,

Just out of curiosity, how many of you are close to my age? (Ageless 50+ ????)

Tomorrow I will tape a new workout for you.

Working title is 'Pillow Pump' because you don't want to use a wedge. Thought lots of pillows would do the same thing.

Wish me luck. (LOL)

All my best,

AnnaVere

That is wonderful news Anna! I can’t wait. I am in my 50s and I have worked out to your videos since 1989. I have been dealing with an illness since Feb 06 (something I will live with) but I continue to workout. Right now I love your FitPrime and Prime Power workouts and I hope to get back to more advanced workouts soon.

I hope everything goes smoothly tomorrow and keep us posted.

Hi Anna! I'm 54 and looking forward to a new work out. The last piece of equipment I purchased was the rebounder when G-Force 1 was released, so I'm also looking forward to the purchase of the wedge. I love new toys!

Anna, I'm sliding towards 57 really fast (next month) and am looking forward to any new workouts you make. I wish you could re-issue the Prime Power series. I made the mistake of lending mine to the wrong person!

51 here! And I certainly do wish you luck, as I think that we over 50 exercisers are a hard market to target. There's a fine line between making a workout that takes our bodies into account and making a workout that's simply not challenging and/or interesting enough. If anyone can pull it off, it's you!

I hope that the workout will demonstrate the exercises using a wedge as well as pillows, as I would far rather purchase a wedge than run around gathering up my pillows (which I will neither step nor sweat on!)

I do not envy you having to name your workouts. "Pillow Pump" is interesting but sounds somewhat geriatric and/or pornographic!

Hi Anna,
I am an ageless 51. I look forward to your new workout as I have plenty of pillows. ;) You have yet to make a workout that I didn't love. Good luck with taping! I recall from FitPrime weekends how meticulous you are. Your products show your devotion.

I am well past 50 but still doing advanced workouts and using heavy weights. I love a challenge! I agree Pillow Pump may not be the best title, nor would I want to work out with pillows. I too would rather purchase the wedge if that is a necessity.

The set for the last series was beautiful but a simple studio set is my favorite type, or else outdoors in a beautiful setting. The production quality and music in the last series were great and I hope you can maintain that level in the new one(s).

Thanks for all your do!

Hi Anna:

I am 60 and bought a wedge way back when you first started talking about producing a DVD using a wedge. So I hope you will use your wedge in the new DVD. I have also been using all your workouts since Volumn 2 / Firm and have everything you have ever produced. I have had several people tell me I don't look my age and I contribute that to all your amazing workouts. Thanks
Sallie

http://www.fitnessfavorites.com/board/images/smilies/smile.gif Hi Anna,

I'm 54 yrs. old and have enjoyed all of the workouts you have produced. I'm excited to try your newest workout and won't mind purchasing a wedge, if that is what you choose to use for your next workout.

Hi! I am 51 and have been exercising with Anna's workouts for 12 years. I am excited about Anna's new workout, but I'm not sure about buying the wedge. Sally or anyone elso who already has a wedge, how do you incorporate it into your workouts?

Greetings!

I finished the entire 53 min. workout this weekend, and am very happy with the performance, as well as the 'look and feel' of the footage.

I designed and used a foam wedge, because it is the best device for the many new exercises, and pillows were too much of a hassle. However, it would be easy to use pillows as a substitute.

In order to incorporate training for the pelvic floor, the workout recommends the use of an internal vaginal device to be worn during the workout. After years of buying and testing, I found the terrific German silicone ‘smart balls’. They are commonly used by European midwives to help new mothers recover from childbirth.

Urge incontinence not only reduces our freedom to accomplish daily tasks without unnecessary stress, but also reduces our ability to enjoy recreation. So if something as simple and inexpensive as a workout with appropriate exercises plus an uncomplicated device, can fix a common problem for many women, why not incorporate these methods into a new release?

Women tell me they no longer consider expensive diapers, medicines or surgery as the only alternative. Many workout clients have told me my techniques work, even without the 'smartballs', so this is an optional purchase.

There is a nice ‘show and tell’ section in the new workout with 'pelvic floor' puppet diagrams and models to educate users in the immense value of this training.

Yes, you are right about the working title. As of now, a new one is ‘in progress’.

All best wishes,

AnnaVere

Anna, I am sorry but you don't look like you are in your 50's! I am 43 years old but to my children I am perpetually 22 :D I have to tell ya, if it hadn't been for your Fitprimes and Firms, I would not have the fitness confidence as I do today.

I did a fitness assessment with Ryan at BodyFit and I scored 18.5% body fat. I have a few more pounds to go but my 3 year anniversary of working out will be this December.

Personally I would just love to sit and watch and asborb all this knowledge.

Thanks so much, can't wait until Pillow Talk comes out.

I'm not in my 50's yet but following your workouts have done me good to date :)

I aspire to be as graceful and fit when I do hit my 50's though

Workout Partners,

The challenge is to have a difficult, but 'smart' workout. Just because we are older does not mean we need easy workouts. If anything, we should workout more frequently, with a more scientific application of different methods.

Just last night, I was with a group of women about my age. They can't find the workouts they like. Existing programs are for the young or old. Sadly, the largest group (baby boomers) is neglected. It could be argued, because there are so many of us, we are also the most important group as well. Without exercise, inactivity will increase frequency of preventable age-related injury & illness. Results will place an extra burden on those who will care for us. Truly, we are at the point of no return; it is now or never. Ten years from now, changes will have occurred for which there is no remedy.

As we age, we do need to move more slowly as agility and speed decrease, and control cardio intensity for the built-in limitations of an age-determined decline in heart rate. We need to respectfully care for our joints, which must be consistently coaxed into full flexion and extension. We must include additional work on posture, to prevent the collapsed, shortened spine so visible in many elderly. Pelvic floor training, in conjunction with full diaphragmatic breathing, is essential if we are to maintain lifestyle freedom.

Even though ‘rosy lips & cheeks within his bending sickle’s compass come’ (Sonnet 116, Edward de Vere), we can delay Father Time’s progress. With proper nutrition and exercise, we can maintain a youthful, strong physique; capable (when necessary) of hard, physical work.

It goes without saying; a maintenance health program of this type will increase longevity with good health. Scientific studies have proven lower rates of breast cancer in women who exercise regularly, and I believe this is due to the 'forced' movement of the lymphatic fluids, which do not circulate without exercise.

All best wishes,

AnnaVere

I find that I workout between one hour and two hours a day because of the endurance and intensity. There are days when I just do an AWT. I enjoy your workouts because the variety of methods used such as a pilates and yoga. Thanks for all you and research. Annette

Hi Anna,

I will turn 50 this coming April 8 and bought my first Firm ***** (Volume 2 with Janet Jones Gretzky) back in 1991. Your workouts accomplish results that I believe no others can. I started back doing Fit Primes 6 weeks after foot surgery (bunion on left foot) and can't believe the results.
Since I became a first time mom at age 44, I want to stay young and fit for my son. My own mother is 83 and has been encouraged by her doc to exercise daily. She walks and does water aerobics at our local Y. A longtime sufferer of osteoporosis (due to a hysterectomy at age 32), she has managed to improve her bone density by taking meds and exercising. I'm so proud of her!!
BTW, I have already asked "Santa Claus" for a body wedge for Christmas!!

I'm so glad to hear that the workout will be about 53 minutes long! 50 - 55 minutes is my optimal weekday workout length; I work out in the morning before work and the thought of working out more than that, even by just 5 or 10 minutes just seems too long.

And I'm so glad to hear that you ended up using the wedge instead of pillows! I want to order one but was wondering if there will be a special DVD/wedge package a la G Force.

Oh, and I'm so glad that you are not going with the name "Pillow Pump"! 'Nough said there....

In addition to all of exercise's health benefits, we all know what an important tool it is in weight loss. This month's CSPI newsletter cover story deals with increased proof of a correlation between excess weight and certain types of cancer. Quite chilling to read that being overweight -not even obese, merely overweight- may significantly increase one's risk. One of their recommendations, of course, is to get off your behind and move! Thank you for making it so easy to get off of mine.

I love 50-55 minute workouts as well from start to finish. I just can't seem to find the time for 60+ minute workouts anymore on a daily basis.
Speaking of ageless folks, has anyone read about the 59 year old grandpa who is playing football this season for his old college team? Awesome!!

Hi Anna, I'm 52 and have been doing your workouts since 1992. I'm in a little slump right now with a meniscus tear in my left knee. Really is depressing. No plyos, heavy lunges, 90 degree squats for me for some time. But my heart is with all you ageless ones out there sticking with the workouts. You go girls!

Anna, I'm 53 and have been working out with your tapes since Firm 1.

You are an inspiration and I'm thrilled you've made another workout. If the pillows don't feel right, I'll be happy to get a wedge.

Please make another rebounder workout. I'd love to see you in it. Carol was a great instructor in G-Force 2.

Also, I'd be real pleased if you made a workout that focused on the upper body.

I know that we need to workout smarter as we age but I still like "a little" impact in my workouts.

I am 42, but battle neck and shoulder issues. I am working my way back to using your WHFN productions with some select FIRMS you created. I hope you will be able to have a clip for us to view very soon of this new workout.

I will probably not be able to purchase a "Wedge", so viewing of a clip would be very important to me, to see how I can substitute a pillow, etc. before purchasing.

Thank you for all your hard work ~
