Okay cat lovers -- I need some help. Our lovely dear cats urinated on the carpet in our sparebedroom. I thought I had done a good job of removing it when it happened, but apparently not. We are in the process of pulling carpet so we can lay hard-wood flooring, however, the urine penetrated the subfloor and stinks something awful. So, my question to you -- is there anything you can recommend that I do to remove as much smell from the subfloor as possible? Thank you so much for any help you can give:D

Stacy, we had a similar problem a few years ago when we were "babysitting" our landlord's cat .
We spoke to many experts, and they all suggested pretty much the same thing. First, wash the floor with vinegar and then dry and use an enzyme cleaner (got this at Home Depot). That still didn't work, so we had to sand down the floor and reseal it. :(

Now that's a bummer :( I was thinking that we may have to replace the subfloor. I'll give it a shot though before we go that route. Thanks;)

Well Stacy, this cat actually "sprayed" and the odor was horrible! I guess he didn't like his visit with us!
Good luck!

Try Odo-Ban. I buy this at Sam's Club. I believe Home Depot has it as well, but in larger quantities...? Good Luck!

Thanks Ginger! I forgot that I had Nature's Miracle at home, so I've used that. It has helped alot, but there's still *some* smell there. The first few times I actually scrubbed the subfloor and this last time I just dumped it on and let the enzymes do their thing. I think will be fine :)
