Some of the posts I've read list how many calories are burned with different Firm and FitPrime workouts. How can I calculate the calories I burn - is there a formulation that I should use?

We calculate them by wearing a hr monitor during our workouts -- a great investment! You should really consider looking at some. I think the most popular brand is Polar, but there are so many out there. I bought mine from www.heartratemonitorsusa.com (http://www.heartratemonitorsusa.com).

Personally, I don't pay any attention the actual calorie burn during the workout. I'm more interested in how it speeds up my metabolism after the workout.

Besides, I use Fitday and when you look at the overall picture, the calories burned in *any* workout are a small part of the calories used by your body just to function and to digest food etc. The real key has got to be building muscle so you burn more calories 24/7. JMHO.

I still think it's useful to have a general idea of what you are burning during a workout. Certainly building lean muscle is important because it increases your metabolism, but at the very least, knowing what you are burning during a workout will help you gage the rest of your day in terms of how many calories you should or shouldn't be eating. Hope this helps:D
