I am an old Firm pre-2000 kind a girl. Didn't excercise for years and have back trouble. Then I had a little girl at age 38 and realized I could spend every waking moment in the Chiropractors office or get in shape. I have the new FitPrime and Kick Butt series which I love, but pilates and yoga are new to me.

I have found some workouts that emphasize the yoga and pilates and have really helped my form with the WHFN wourkouts. Are there any other specialty workouts people would reccomend? Here is my list.

1.David Carradine Beginning Chi Kung - Zip Cardio, decent stretching, but no workout I have ever done makes my body work better! Nothing relives joint pain or touchy digestion quite like the exercises in this tape. A companion book is out or print but reasonably available

2. Yoga for Dummies - Really improves breathing, balance and form. Sarah Ivanhoe is fantastic!

3. Pilates for Dummies - Great instructor and some way challanging exercerises. Find myself doing newbie modifications for some excerises after two years of Firm and WHFN tapes. Yikes!

Thanks!

I didn't know David Carradine had a workout tape. I loved watching him in the KungFu show. I'm going to see if collage has a preview.

I also love stretching tapes. I bought Tamilee Webb's beginner stretch workout. I have been doing it after I'm done working out to increase my flexibility.

I really like Ali McGraw's yoga tape - the name of which escapes me. It's a really great practice that always leaves me feeling loose and strong. Rodney Yee's Yoga for Abs is a shorter (20 min) yoga tape that is misnamed in that it is not just for ab strength - it's a whole body practice with an ab focus I would say. Finally, Kari Anderson has a tape called Lines, Angles and Curves (I think) that is a mix of dance stretches, yoga and pilates. I like that one as well.

I do Bryan Kest's Power Yoga 1 - Energize and 2 - Tone (3 - Sweat is REALLY advanced!!!) on alternating Saturdays which are devoted solely to Power Yoga.
