I've been using a broom handle (with the broom end removed, of course), but I really want to get a proper dowel. I know lots of you have purchased the dowel and rubber tips at Home Depot. My question is, what department will I find them in? Thanks!

I went to Lowes and I had to ask. But, I think the tips were in hardware. The ones I bought were called Cane Tips and came in varying sizes. The dowel was in the wood department in an area for small craft wood. They came precut in varying lengths. The 48" was perfect for me. I still need to stain or varnish it or something but it's holding up just fine.

FYI I use the stick part from my Swifter sweeper! Of course, now I don't know where the mop part is, nor do I ever use it anymore for its intended purpose.:p

Belle,
I do the exact same thing! The swiffer works fine for me!
Kind of gives "clean and press" a new meaning, huh?http://www.whfn.com/board/images/smilies/tongue.gif
(I know, that was terrible. I just couldn't resist).
