Wondering if anyone can help me. I can't seem do do hover and stand hover and sit withoutfeeling a bad pain in myr ight knee. Now I have tracking issues with my knees and have been to Physical Therapy though when I saw here we didn't do these. She did say they were fine but it was easier to fall out of form.
Anyway, I have tried and don't know if I'm doing something wrong or not.
Today I did Steamin' Cardio and I either need to figureo ut the hover squats or get recommendations for a good substitution to use for the handstand to hoversquat moves. No prob with the handstand but the hover squat part I have problems and I don't want to just sit there????
ANy recs????
TIA

Hi Diane,
Maybe your step is too low for you for hover squats? Maybe if you had a higher seat? Try using an armlesss dining room chair or kitchen chair (They're generally 17" tall at the seat... too high for many for the leg press, but much easier on the knees for squats.).
Be sure you're keeping those knees back over your ankles... You should be able to lift your toes in your shoes. Be sure to sit back and down, rather than just down...chest tall, shoulder blades wrapped around your spine, abs tight, and natural curve in your spine (a lot to think about!).
If the higher seat doesn't work, maybe you could substitute regular squats?
Keep us posted on what works for you~

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll have to try that. ;-)

For hover squats, i use the 17 inch stool. Much easier on the knees. (Plus I am on the tall side and 14 inch stool was too low)

Thanks, I definately need to get a chair or something taller htan my fannylifter into my basement then. ;-)
I was sitting on the 14 inch step and my knees are definately higher than my hips so I think that you are both right and a taller seat will help. I also have experimented when getting out of chairs (in hover squat fashion) and don' thave the problem.
So thanks much for the rec.

You make a good point. My legs have a 32" inseam and my knees are always higher than my hips when I sit on the 14" step. It's very hard to keep momentum out of the lift from that position.

I tried this with an extra riser in my high step - it is much better. Thanks for the tip! :D
